The village cafe offer so much, be it breakfast, lunch or coffee and cake. The staff are excellent and friendly, service is first class. Our visits here started as a once a week meeting now our friends meet us here, only today we went to another cafe and they requested we meet next week at the Village Cafe, it’s a place loved by all. Well done to Charlotte and her team, keep up the good work 😊

Good food, but got order wrong offered to swap but when your tucking into a full English you don't wanna wait for your toast, got had over asked for 2 rounds of toast charged for 4 as when you ask for 2 you get 4 ?? Some roudy loud music blairing away impression genre music was for staff not customers asked to put down which they did but said no one else has complained ...but people don't .....

Went for lunch to The Village Cafe after a trip to Allesley Parkk with our granddaughter. We had an all day breakfast which was excellent, all item nice and hot. Cafe was very clean, airy and modern and the service was superb. Looking forward to my next visit.

As I am currently on a diet, I am very picky with what I choose when it comes to breaking it on any particular day. After a series of difficult events during the morning, I decided it was one of those times to treat myself. When I noticed on the Specials board "Baconm, Brie & Mushroom Melt", I got excited. This is one of my favourite sanwiches. So I ordered it minus the mushrooms. Wasn't the cheapest at £5.85 either. At that price, I was expecting something special. What I got would be better descibed as a Brie melt. After a few puzzled bites I opened the thing up to wonder why I wasn't tasting any bacon. What greeted me was a few meager strips of cut bacon amonst a sea of melted brie....why is it cut? Surely you wern't trying to make 1 rasher of bacon cover an entire panini? OK, the meal "included" a packet of crisps, what I wasn't really after but I wasn't told it was available without the crisps as an option, so hey ho, just went ahead. Sooooo exspensive for such poor quality item.

The cafe serves nice cakes and looks great inside. Service is quite slow. Not great for small children. Had to wait over 10 minutes for a high chair and when it came it was filthy. The waitress gave it a quick wipe with a tea towel, not very sanitary. Might just be a one off so will try it out again.

The consistent quality of the food, the friendly ambience, value for money and excellent service have always been the hallmark of this highly recommended venue. It’s not a large establishment but during the restrictions brought about by COVID some considerable internal upgrading has been taking place. All of the previously mentioned attributes are still very much in evidence but the physical changes have provided a more space-efficient and comfortable environment. The establishment seems to have been renamed ‘The Village Cafe’ but the experience of the delight of a visit to ‘Good Honest Food’ remains and, indeed, has been enhanced, just when I thought that things could not get any better! Well done!!!

The Good Honest Food Company is just what it’s name proclaims. It’s local to me and provides a consistently high level of food quality, excellent service and a very welcoming ambiance. It is not a large venue but is usually well furnished with diners throughout the day. The menu is not extensive but I can always find something that appeals to my pallet and fulfils my requirements. All food is prepared by the staff and represents excellent value for money. ‘Haute cuisine‘ it does not pretend to be but for ‘Good Honest Food’ it cannot be bettered!

This is a local cafe which is always welcoming. On this visit we just wanted drinks and a bite to eat. All was good

Excellent food every time. Good prices too. We often visit, usually for lunch. Their Omelettes are particularly good. They also do "take away" meals.

Each time we arrive the staff are very helpful and make sure you enjoy the visit in a very clean environment. The food is very good and reasonably priced where none of our families have had any bad issues, only good.

we have just had the most wonderful service from the Greswolde Hotel in relation to the celebration of my mother in laws life after her passing .The food was first class and the service provided was second to none.If you have a need for a function room I truly recommend this wonderful establishment.

Had breakfast here whilst staying at a nearby hotel - much cheaper and better quality. Food was lovely and staff very friendly.

Visited recently and had a full English the restaurant is spotlessly clean , good Service breakfast , Good service , unfortunately I have to say that the breakfast was average to poor , the sausages whilst apparently local sourced were not to my liking . The biggest issue for me was the the breakfast was Luke warm with cold tomatoes, a cold egg surely it’s that difficult to serve a hot breakfast !!!

Very poor service and food wasn’t much better poor quality bread heard eggs over priced cook was not happy when 11 people turned up looked as if we were putting her out even though we thought it was a cafe but I think she couldn’t cope all food were Luke worm and dry so if you can find other place round there then do so and let them just tick over as we waited for an hour some of us did for food and all said and done 4 lots of them were just cobs ?

Excellent food at a very reasonable price, Very good for breakfast or lunch. The coffee is of variable quality though, probably depends on who makes it...?

We often pop in here for a bite to eat at the weekend. We were in a bit of a rush on Saturday but it was no problem, our order arrived really quickly. My bacon sarnie was excellent, as was my daughters tuna Mayo.... They have great bread here! Chocolate brownie for my daughter got a big thumbs up and I have to say the triple layer victoria sponge was excellent too. Looking forward to the next time we pop in

I’ve visited this café before and was disappointed but decided to give it another try more recently. Again, I was disappointed by the lack of atmosphere the café seems to hold. The decor is rather dated and the drinks were average. Overall, it lacks any sort of cosy feel and wasn’t the welcoming cosy café I had hoped for.

A Lovely little cafe in the pretty village of Allesley. Great food, freshly made and superbly cooked using brilliant ingredients. Very friendly service, what more can you want?

We noticed the signboard for this cafe on our way to Morrison’s for breakfast so went here instead and didn’t regret it. The breakfast was freshly cooked and the staff were flexible about what items you could have. Plenty of things to read and it’s clearly an important part of the local community.

This is quite a small cafe so the atmosphere when you visit depends a lot on how busy it is and who the other customers are. However the welcome was friendly, service fast-enough and offerings thoroughly enjoyed

We’ve lived in the village for 3 years so have been excited to try it out after reading all the good reviews.

We love to go for a breakfast when out on the road and this place is definitely the best breakfast we e had so far. The ingredients used are top notch the sausage was superb even down to using Heinz beans ! We will be using this place again when in the area.

Bright and cheerful, spotless cafe; despite. Very reasonable Full English Breakfast £4.75 (sausage, bacon, egg, mushrooms, beans, tomatoes & toast) good coffee in a nice mug. Everything cooked to order, grease free!

Just happened upon this absolute gem, great food and fabulous welcome. Well worth a visit. We had the all day breakfast even though it was past lunchtime! we also couldn't resist cake to take away for later. Thank you ladies x

This was a pleasant surprise to find as we meandered home. Tucked away off the main road thru Allesley Village with just a sign pointing it was there & we just fancied Cake & hot drink. It’s a tiny Cafe. There’s a small menu with what looks excellent value £4.85 Full English Breakfast but we opted for a slice of Lemon Drizzle Cake & Rhubarb & cream Cake with a little pot of tea each. As it was Sunny we sat outside & & the order came in timely fashion with a smile. Clearly popular with the locals & boasting extensive use of local ingredients this is clearly a successful local shop for local people but welcomes passers by like us. A rare thing nowadays. Worth a visit if you’re peckish.

A nice selection of food. Panini toastie sandwich. Fry up etc. Teas coffees chocolate. 3 different types of cake on the counter. Home made and good sized pieces. They also do take away dinner that you can the heat at home. Prices are reasonable too.

Amongst the best breakfasts I have ever had. The bacon and sausages were tremendous, both with really great flavour. The cinnamon toast (an old favourite of mine) was exceptional, slightly crispy on the top and unlike any I’ve ever had before. All four of us had our eggs prepared differently and each of them were cooked perfectly, as was everything else. All of our meals were ready at the same time and everything was piping hot. The service was friendly and attentive, and each of us shared the same high opinion of the whole experience. Nothing was too much trouble for them. I could not rate it more highly.

La comida es buena pero un poco caro para un café de la ciudad. Es muy limpio, pero carece de una sensación acogedora y pueden ser muy ruidosos. No hay personaje.

Visitado recientemente y tenía un desayuno inglés completo en el restaurante está impecablemente limpio, buen desayuno, buen servicio, el desayuno era buena relación calidad-precio y en general muy agradable. Si tengo una pequeña crítica sería la calidad de las salchichas. Yo estaría dispuesto a pagar un poco más por un producto mejor.

Después de leer todas las críticas positivas que esperaba cosas buenas de este desayuno, pero me decepcionó. La decoración y el ambiente estaba desanimado. El servicio era lento, a pesar de ser tranquilo y la comida era muy promedio. Tengo que decir que el precio era bueno para dos desayunos y cafés pero no quieres pagar más si soy honesto. Quizás fui en una "día" pero no volver.

We visited here this morning to enjoy a nice cooked breakfast but due to traffic got here a bit later so was unable to so we had to settle for bacon sandwich we ordered 2 sandwiches to take away lady was great and service was good defently visit again if in the area

Pedí el desayuno con bebidas, pero tenía que volver y pedir la camarera joven por las bebidas, ser mejor darle las bebidas que esperar para el desayuno, ya que era un poco de espera. Qué gran descubrimiento, debido a otros asesores de viaje, gracias! Buena comida, excelente servicio y precios realistas. Sólo pequeños inconvenientes, no wi-fi (pero se puede usar una señal local bt si estás en ese servicio) y sólo una taza y media de una taza de té, pero minucias sin importancia. Sin duda volveremos.

Gracias a las mujeres de la buena comida honesta me Co. por una maratón de ocho para una hora y media, tiempo durante el cual trabajé en mi portátil y comí mi camino a través de desayuno, tostadas de canela media mañana con café, sopa de tortilla de champiñones y libanés, flapjack helado de jengibre.

Hoy fui por primera vez y quedé muy impresionado con la comida. Todos los productos con una lista de proveedores en la pared. Muy buena comida recién hecha. El personal es muy servicial y agradable. Found this cafe using Tripadvisor. Small, very clean and located in Allesley Village. Nice selection of freshly produced food. Popped in for lunch and had the fresh soup which was very nice. Now I have found this cafe I would pop back if I was in the area.

Last weeks two visits included a sandwich made with curried chicken, so fresh and tasty. Another delight was the gernerous slice of coffee cake, along with an expresso . I always recommend this friendly cafe, thank you Team.

A small community cafe in Allesley village just off the A45. It does what it says on the tin. Good value, nice quality simple meals and cakes. Good coffee. The cafe is well run friendly and very clean. I have called in for coffee and lunch. This is a little gem and worth seeking out.

This local place is great they do a lovely cake and a cuppa!It's quite small so check there isn't organised activities booked in there when you go like knitting club etc!!

Made a quick exit from the awful Coventry Hill Hotel and found the Good honest Food Cafe in Allesley Village.What a contrast. Very friendly helpful lady plus freshly cooked ,locally sourced breakfast. Very good. Glad we found it.Highly recommend.

This is a lovely café tucked away in the village of Allesley. It's quite basic inside (melamine tables) but that probably helps keep it clean (it's spotless). The staff are very friendly, the food is lovely home-cooked fare - great cakes, soups, sandwiches, a choice of hot meals each day (and they freeze portions which can be bought when you just can't be bothered to cook a proper meal at home.They also serve as a meeting point for local groups (e.g. knit and natter), local counselor surgeries, local police 'meet and greet' etc.).

I visited here on a whim, it had an excellent atmosphere and the staff were more then happy to help. The food was of good standard and arrived quickly.

On a return visit to this charming cafe, my tastebuds were tempted by the Daily Special, a risotto made with gammon and peas. Freshly made , hot and delicious. No room for one of the tempting looking cakes, well done everyone, see you soon!

This is a pearl of a business. The food is consistently great and the owners do a lot to support the local area. Best breakfast for miles bar none.

A fantastic asset to Allesley. Delicious food, section with toddler toys so you can have a peaceful cup of tea. Breakfast gets top marks.

We regularly pop into this cafe, so I was sorry to read the last review. Today, we enjoyed great cake and great service! The staff are friendly and welcoming and the cafe is modern and clean. The food is locally sourced. On the menu is a variety of cooked and cold food, sandwiches and home-made cakes. You can also buy tasty home-made meals to take away. I recommend the cakes (especially the chocolate brownies and the coffee cake) Cooked on the premises, they are always fresh and delicious. Tea is served by the pot and a range of coffees are available. Children are welcome and there is a selection of toys and books to keep them entertained.

We visited here just over a week ago, when we arrived there were vacant tables so I sat down with my friend. After a few minutes a waitress came over and told us that there would be a delay in ordering food as they had just taken a big breakfast order and so orders would take a while. We said we were happy to wait and our intention was to have a coffee and peruse the menu whilst waiting. No such luck! when we approached the counter to order, the waitress came out and looked at us and went back into the kitchen. After several minutes she returned to say that the kitchen had told her not to take any more orders. We could only assume this meant for food or drink as we had already said we were happy to wait, and in fact if we had (as we were in no rush thankfully) we would probably have spent more on a couple of drinks whilst waiting.We were made to feel wholly uncomfortable and it felt as if they just wanted to get rid of us as quickly as possible.We will not return as this behaviour is extremely rude. We have never experienced anything like it. We were more than happy to spend our money elsewhere where we would be treated with courtesy.

This cafe boasts a homemade menu which it does provide but the items are priced higher than expected. I appreciate that quality ingredients cost more than normal ones but i fail to see why i should come here anymore when i can cook the same quality food at home for half the price. Please maybe rethink some prices but overall a good resturaunt

What a find. A small cafe tucked away but so near the A45. The most tasty scrambled eggs I have eaten in a long time. The iced coffee cake was to die for. The cafe is exceptionally clean, with friendly helpful staff. Also meals ' to go' . Cannot wait to try them but am so full from my visit, they will have to wait. Am already looking forward to the next time I am in the area.

An unassuming but pleasant place. Great service and wholesome food, with a wide choice available. No frills but good value.

This is our first visit to this café and is a delightful change from your normal, being extraordinarily clean with a fresh feel as soon as you walk in. The Menu has a great selection offering “good honest” value food (we had the tasty English Breakfasts complete especially with an honest “free range” egg) and drinks with the option of Becca’s legendary homemade cakes for afters. Becca and her staff are friendly (and Mum & Dad), willing and keen to please, making us feel very welcome with warm conversation. It was a pleasant surprise and enjoyed our visit and will certainly be going back soon.

Very simple review. This is in the heart of the community and is simple (but tasty) food. We went in January for a lovely meal where we ate well (3 adults, 3 children) with family friendly seats/toys and quick service. The food was very tasty, just like your mother would make. Recommended! It is worth noting that it's not a "fancy restaurant" but it does what it says on the tin - "good, honest food".

Decent wholesome home cooked food worth a detour from the A45 or J6 M42 (10min) to experience great homemade tastes.

My hubby and I visit frequently with our young son, the food is always excellent, (especially the breakfasts and home made cake!) the staff are lovely and unlike a lot of places it is so child friendly, decent high chairs ( which are always spotless),a table of toys for little ones and plastic plates & cutlery available. We make a special trip over from the other side of town because the food and service is so good. Thoroughly recommend.

Called in passing through on the way to Birmingham in need of a break and cuppa. Superb! Friendly, spotlessly clean and well looked-after, thoroughly professional. A good trade with local people by the looks of it. Excellent selection of home-made cakes, the likes of which you seldom see outside more touristy places; better value though! Parking easy enough outside or nearby and a pretty easy place to get to from the A45. Give these folks the benefit of your custom!

I have regularly enjoyed cake and coffees at the lovely cafe. It has always been friendly, lovely place. The food is delicious and I've ordered some tasty freezer meals as a treat & some cakes, brownies & yummy rock cakes. Never disappointed. Thank you

Lovely little cafe in the heart of allesley village, serves a variety of breakfast, lunch and cake items, the ones I have tried have all been lovely.The owner is always very welcoming and everyone in there is always happy to chat away.

Annual visit in October did not disappoint. Will be heading there next time thats for sure, Allesley needs a focal point and this cafe does the business!

I have followed this restaurant since it opened and the food has been consistently wonderful and the service is always so warm and welcoming. We need many, many small, local businesses like this.

We stopped here for breakfast on our journey to Suffolk. This place might not be big but it certainly packs a punch. Lovely friendly welcome followed by a really tasty breakfast. You can tell quality ingredients are used.The cafe is sparkling clean, we were asked if we were warm enough and the heating turned up when we said no. Very varied menu, cakes baking first thing, we're definitely stopping again on our way home.

The café is so clean and such a friendly place. The staff are always helpful and you are certainly looked after. The cakes are to die for and they do meals to go which they try to be as healthy as they can. Its a very pleasant place to come.

It was quality food well thought about very clean great service but just one size breakfast no extras on menu just 1 bacon 1 sausage and 1 egg a spoonful of beans half a tomato and 1 mushroom cut up for £4.75 no tea or coffee I suppose they don't want to be an average greasy spoon but they could have a larger breakfast for the hungrier person one of best in Coventry and at least you won't have a heart attack in the afternoon

Good cafe which serves good quality food. It is located a bit off the main road so you will have to look hard to find it but if you are looking for a nice lunch at a bright & airy cafe then well worth the visit. They do daily specials & you can also get portions to take home for tea.

Lovely cafe with simple honest food . Great place for small kids and a great stop off for moms too. It's not too far from the park so it's a nice treat to visit after going for a walk. The staff are always welcoming and friendly.
