Little pub with a big punch showing most major sporting events. Food is kept to a minimum price and is excellent value. Real ales are plentyful with on average 6 on at any one time. Staff are friendly and knowledgeable 5 stars that are rarely given

Very good pub about twenty minutes walk from Coventry railway station. Six cask ales - and one cider - on handpump when I visited including a mild. Loads of outdoor seating in the very large garden to the rear some of it covered. The pub was rebuilt by the landlord from the shell of the former Leigh Mills gatehouse.

Fantastic live music at the Sunday afternoon jam . I've never failed to be impressed by the artists.

Visited on 10/8/24 enjoyed visit with family. Good hospitality and pleasant atmosphere. Would definitely recommend

Friendly pub with a local feel in the city centre. It's a rugby themed pub but was showing football during the Euro's. A big plus from me is the Guinness Zero on draught. Thanks to catering for all.

Cracking pub, very friendly staff, outstanding beer and service. Big projector screen for watching sport, plenty of seating, big outdoor garden. All in all, a true hidden gem.

Nice little pub but has a big outdoor area, very friendly staff and customers. They have live music on almost every week and a quiz night once a month

Always a decent pint on draft, the Bass in particular is one of the best. The loyalty card soon fills up.

Excellent throughout our visit, great selection of beers 🍻, reasonably priced. Food menu was excellent and very well presented and excellent value for money 💰 We chose to go here as it is dog friendly. Which was wonderful the barman gave us a bowl of water and the kitchen supplied a gammon for him Excellent experience and will definitely be returning very soon, I would recommend it to anyone especially to dog owners 😀

Always a good selection of real ales. Good sized portions of traditional pub grub, tasty and well priced. Loyalty card scheme gives you a free pint for every 12 purchased. Live football and Rugby on the screen. Live music. Not full of Chavs. Great boozer👍

By far the best pub in Coventry. The landlord has a wry sense of humour. The beer is superb every time I visit Coventry and this absolute gem of a pub. Definitely a contender for a pub of the year award from CAMRA. Imo.

A locals pub in the heart of the city, always great service, excellent beer, lovely garden and the food is great, the Cajun Chicken is awesome.

Always a good pint, basic hearty meals never fail to satisfy. The beer garden is lovely when the sun is out, and the large canopy area outside protects from the rain when it isnt. Can get very busy. Will keep going back.

Definitely a place to visit, lovely friendly staff. Booked as part of a celebration meal after attending a local competition at the Skydome arena, Around 30+ people including children, all kids loved the food as well as adults, all lovely fresh hot food served. Staff really went above and beyond to ensure we all have a lovely time. Would definitely recommend to anyone visiting the local area.

I booked here as we had a huge group of 38, Andrew was very accommodating sending me the menu prior so we could all order. Was a good choice of food and was super tasty 😋. I would not hesitate in booking the Gatehouse Tavern again so friendly and professional staff ... Thank you guys for the night to complete our weekend.

Great venue, reserved garden tables for a large group and we were treated so well and felt so welcome. Great food, great atmosphere and reasonably priced. Would definitely return if we visit Coventry in the future.

What a cracking pub. Great selection of beer, warm welcome, free food on the bar (it was a Sunday) and a lovely garden in the city centre. Great value too. Will definitely return when back in Cov.

Great freehouse with friendly and superfast-serving staff! Wide choice of drinks including ales on tap that change regularly. The best beer garden in Coventry city centre. Brilliant for rugby and football. Tasty food. Live bands (not every day). Dogs welcome. Children allowed (with drinks limit for responsible adult).

A great little venue with a good selection of ales and a decent beer garden.

When I went it was pretty quiet. We had a decent meal, decent beer and watched the football on bt sports. I can't say it was modern but has a small pub charm, the staff were very pleasant and there is nothing really to complain about. Prices were good so all in all a pretty decent evening.

Guest beers are excellent and served perfectly. Andy is on hand to describe them and help you choose one you'll like. Food is hearty, tasty and great value and the atmosphere is relaxed and friendly. If I lived in Coventry I'd be here all the time!

Excellent food and drink. Very friendly bartender who was knowledgeable about the different beers on offer. Had walked to the pub via the canal from Hawksbury Junction, so was in need of a good rest!

Visited here a few times now and always have a friendly welcome, good real ales on tap and excellent value lunches. Had a cheese and onion batch, good strong cheddar in a very large batch and chips, very good value and good quality.

OK, so this is basically a pub. I find it clean every time we use it and it is our pub of choice these days. The food is served very quickly and is always piping hot and fresh. Chicken nuggets and chips sat outside is a treat. The barman even remembered our round and that always helps the evening go well. A very decent pun is this.

Brilliant real ale pub to visit on match days. Travelled from Blackpool recently and was made to feel very welcome by both staff and customers. Great selection of real ale. Real ale loving away football fans 'must goto pub'.. Highly recommended.

Went for pre Christmas lunch,so cold we had to keep coats on and my lasagna was so thin I should have had a spoon staff were lovely but won't eat there again

There were 16 of us yesterday for Christmas/Birthday celebrations and we had a brilliant time. Most of us had the giant yorkshire Christmas dinner and it was really lovely, plenty of meat, extra gravy and nothing was too much trouble. They put a birthday banner over the table and brought a cake out for the Birthday boy, excellent service, value for money and will definitely go and eat there again. Thanks for having us!

Amazing little diamond pub! Went with 2 adults and 3 little people. Staff were beyond amazing. So friendly and helpful and welcoming. Even the locals were fantastic! Had a personal guide to the Belgrade theatre! Food was delicious and generous portions. Thank you all so much for such a wonderful experience. Really can't thank everyone enough!
