The Golden Star in Renfrewshire

Absolutely the worst meal we have had used to use this Chinese regularly haven't for some time decided to try again wish we hadn't onions raw curry dry chips undercooked utterly disappointed.

The Chips are getting worse crispy dry chicken also dry. Fish is tiny sorry the chippy has gone down hill

GOLDEN STAR take a way is the best you can imagine, we ordered chicken curry and salty chilly chicken chips and came hot, DIVINE, DELICIOUS, TASTY always generous portion 🥳and on reasonable time. I have tried few takeaways in Johnstone but GOLDEN STAR IS NUMBER 1. Highly reccomend it 🤤🌹all excellent 🤩

Had chicken curry with fried rice salt n chilli chips and prawn crackers all was fresh. Sauce for curry was lovely much thicker as time before too watery. Enjoyed it thanks.

Normally a good Chinese but not tonight- i asked for chicken curry and fried rice... if you want undercooked chicken, non cooked onions, boiled rice and two teaspoons of curry sauce- then it's good but its not what was asked for.

Minging, don’t be cheap and go for the lower priced takeaway. Lesson learnt, get what you pay for I guess 👎🏼🤢 won’t be back. Also man on the phone needs to change his tone!

Waited 1 hour and 40 mins for a delivery. Phoned after an hour and was told it was on its way, where from, China!!! Very poor customer service and will never use again. Hate being lied too!!

The food is absolutely fantastic

The Kung po chicken is sensational as is the king prawn satay. I think this is the best Chinese takeaway in Johnstone.

First time ordering here.. Honestly I have lived in Johnstone for two years and just found this gem.. Thank you for the duck pancakes 😂.

Curry was like water, beef was like jelly,no mushrooms,prawn toast was cremated waste of money 😡

Chips n curry sauce. Not to standard I expect from this takeaway which is usually very good.

Sweet n sour chicken was realy nice.. chips were just a bag of soggy strips, perhaps potatoes 🥔 perhaps not 🤷

Food was always nice but last few orders having been shocking sorry to say we won’t be back

Found these guys by accident one night due to the Chinese next to it being closed, thankful that I did as its been ace 👌 love the food and the service has been awesome too, nice to know its a local family business also, was in tonight again while passing through 😉 just wish it was closer to home 🏡 😩

Beef curry & fried rice quick Service

First time I have ordered from them in a while and my order was first class. Really big portions,decent standard of chicken in the meal and the chips were good as well. I would recommend the golden star.

Good takeaway food always spot on

Our usual takeaway is closed on Mondays, so we decided to try Golden Star. Quick delivery, food hot, and honestly the best Chinese meal we have eaten in 11 years since we moved here. We chose different meals, and both were outstanding. We have a new favourite takeaway, thanks Golden Star!

I just moved back in area after 30 year away and golden star was always ma takeaway but after tonites curry not good curry sauce not the normal beef no taste and opinions well not good chips must o got a fright and jumped back out fryer cause they were bad and in all the year b4 I left I could not complain and b4 this no complaints but tonites was not to there standard sorry but true

The food is decent. Fairly fast so no long wait, although we ordered in person so not sure of delivery times. They are quite pricey. I'm not sure if they hiked their prices with the current covid-19 situation but they are more expensive than our usual Chinese take out in Glasgow West End - almost £3 more expensive for the exact same meal..

Eat out here all the time, but for some reason tonight the rice was just boiled greasy rice and curry sauce did not taste like curry at all! Put me right off this place will need to find a new Chinese to order from .

Used to go between other Chinese in Johnstone but have now been eating here for nearly two years without going to other Chinese and can claim I've only had one bad meal in all that time.

Paid for an order which when it eventually arrived half of it was missing,2 hours later the missing items will be another 30 minutes!!the food was so bad my dog wouldn't eat it and the staff's attitude was horrific......any good review's that you see must have been posted by the shops friends and family!!!!!
