stunning food, beautiful service! even got to watch a bit of the olympics while we were waiting 💚

Our first tike visiting recently on the back of all the good reviews. Service was great, but Food was pretty average. Soggy chips, shredded beef wasn't quite right. Chicken Balls were OK. Rest of the order was fine. To be clear, it wasn't bad, it just wasn't as good as I had hoped. I'd rather drive for 10 minutes to Neath Hill in future.

We live locally and come every week. I always ask for well cooked beef with the noodles and they always doit for me. It is lovely. All the family enjoy it and nobody has ever complained or a bad meal.

Never had a bad takeaway from here. All was been great.

Order pork chow mein. It was not nice. The pork was fatty and inedible and the noodles had a chemical taste to them. Would not use again.

Always delicious, always ready on time and Always good value. That is why we always use The Golden Sea.

Best Chinese in Milton Keynes without a doubt

Agree with some of the earlier comments, and I see that it depends on what you order. As it's so convenient within the radar, I tried again without giving up. Recently I changed to have Beef with Mixed Vegetables (instead of Chop Suey dishes - cos I dont like bean sprouts too), once a week for lunch by the way at work, and I must say they are really 'good'!

on the rare occasions we have enjoyed a chinese take out over the last 35 years, we have bought from GS.. the last 3 meals we had were horrible! greasy soggy pancake rolls.. full of just beansprouts it seemed, no flavour!!.. bland spl chow mein... bland everything.. sorry GS.. the word is out... You have gone RIGHT DOWN HILL!!! and until we hear good things from our friends.. we're DONE!

My first time with Golden Sea Chinese takeaway. The phone call to take my booking was really easy and very quick & I even asked for extra spices with my order as I enjoy some heat with my food. I arrived on time and although it was very busy, within minutes my food was ready to go. My chicken & black bean was excellent ( extra spices ) the peppers & onions were still slightly crunchy, delicious, chicken was moist & not over cooked and the sauce was very good. I will be back.

Agree with previous reviews. Used to be much better but not anymore. I wouldn't be recommended this place any more.

Used to be so much better. Noodles are powdery and tasteless. Crispy beef was soggy and the sauce was congealed and lumpy. Three very different meals and not a single part I'd say was worth paying for. Really disappointed as we've had food from here many times over the years but the last couple of times have been equally bad.

I met Sammy and Lyn when I first moved into the house next to them to become their neighbours when I was just 6 years old. Over 40 years later and I am still a very loyal customer of the best Chinese food in MK!

Best Chinese in MK. I recommend the chilli salted chicken, kung pao, satay noodles and the prawn curry. They're extremely reliable and always lovely to deal with. If you go in December, they'll give you a calendar too!

Great Chinese! Hard to find a decent Chinese in mk. Finally found one, just moved to the area. I'd recommend the lemon chicken!

Been using this takeaway for 32 years. Still as good as ever. Dont live local so about 15 mins journey but we'll worth it.

My favourite Chinese. Unfortunately for me it is collection only and I cannot get out at the moment.

Just had from this place for the first time and it will ne the last as the food was disgusting full pf grease steak was supposed to be sirloin but it was frying steak

Not good at all. Had 1/4 crispy duck, which came pre-shredded but had half a dozen bone chips throught the meat, which made eating the wraps a bit of a lottery. Crispy shredded beef was in no way crispy, coming as it does in a LOT of sweet and sour sauce (not the normal dark sticky sauce) so instead it always more like sweet and sour chicken HK style. The egg fried rice was tasteless bu salty. All in all 36 quid wasted and we won't be returning. It was horrid.Try Bamboo Cottage or Deanshanger before Golden Sea.

Try the pick n mix selection. Its so goooood

Good portions and tasty food at a reasonable price - love the deep fried spring rolls! We often use this take away when visiting Stony.

Best chicken curry and egg fried rice I've had from any Chinese takeaway in the UK, and being it's my go to dish I've tried more than a few. Always seems busy, but service is never slow. Great takeaway, miss it now I don't live nearby anymore.

first time using this establishment and the last 4.6 stars are very deceiving the worst food ive ever brought and the customer service on the phone was disappointing after voicing my displeasure in the food i was asked to call back later as the person on the phone was busy

Go to this Chinese every week and order the same thing. 2 types of soup but tonight no salt or egg white added to thicken. Sweet and sour pork balls but no sweet and sour sauce special chow mein but not enough noodles for one let alone two and replaced with carrots! Never had cause to complain before. Called them to be told they do not add carrots and that they would give us refund on sauce and questioning the truth No thank you will not be spending another penny there rather have kebab next door

Just a few of the best bits: - Fresh tasting & Delicious - Lean meat (not a single bit of fatty meat) - None of the dishes were dry - Amazing value for money / generous portions (especially the duck) - Quick and Friendly service Was very impressed with my experience, will be ordering from here again.

Hong kong style Chinese or should i say what we brits expect a Chinese to be

I had a takeaway last Saturday (14-09) and was immediately transported back in time to the late 60s/70s. I have never had a Chinese takeaway that tasted like this since then!!! Absolutely fantastic!!! Next time I stay in Stony Stratford I will be going back for sure. Just beware, you will need a big bottle of water on the bedside table for later! (msg I guess) but that was all part of it's appeal! I could not recommend it any higher!

Oh my god, this food, well I can’t even call it that, the only thing that stopped me taking this filth back was that I thought maybe a bad review would be better. We used to have a takeaway here every 2 weeks or so, never again will I darken his door again or will I give them any money, they should be ashamed of what they serve up, absolutely awful, threw it away I feel like I was robbed

Since Sam the owner had his illness the food has never been good just average, but sometimes on occasions it is really bad with hairs in. The woman on the front can be really argumentative if you complain, so now go elsewhere after 25 years.

Been going thirty years and my family and I have never had a complaint but tonight was exceptional... Taste quality and brilliant value compared to others.. Thank you for all these years off quality food

Bland, soggy vermicelli, watery curry sauce and chips with more eyes than a Springfield fish... (Simpsons) disgusting, cheap ingredients but service with a smile.

My fav Chinese, food always nice and hot and soo delicious. The pancake rolls are amazing!!

Friendly, food was tasteless and dry won’t be going back. £30 waste of money for Father’s Day treat. All dishes were bland my son loves Chinese and he said it was awful. Most of it went in the bin and we’ll never go back.

It's not the closest to me, but it has been my Chinese takeaway of choice for over ten years. Sam is a real gent and always makes you feel welcome. Can't believe he's been there for over 40 years!

We have used Golden Sea for years never had a problem with it,we now live in Lincolnshire but our local “Chinese” not a patch on “Sams”.so always get a takeaway when we visit.

Ordered a takeaway. They gave us chicken instead of beef and we don't eat chicken. No special chow mein and by the time we went to collect what was missing the food was cold. Absoulte waste of hard earned money when we had it as a treat. Will be using a different Chinese shop..

Currys and sauces are lovely. Also dish number 46. Beautiful.

Been using this Chinese for 30 years always great food, would totally recommend.

Not nice at all! Microwaved noodles , really bloody dry, ribs were full of fat, I spent 36 quid and it was nasty. I think that people are supporting the guy because he's nice but the food is horrendous. Sorry for the bad review but it is horrible.

New to the area have been going every weekend for last 6-7 months and starting great, really good service and wonderful food and always got what we asked for but recently a new front of house starts to argue with you when you don’t want something in there food and will refuse to remove it. This isn’t great if you have food allergies let alone customer service!! For this reason will no longer getting our Chinese from there loads in the area to choose from.

Food entirely palatable but really average. Shame really as I was looking forward to it. Noodles were seaside standard and swimming in soy sauce

Very clean, stays open until advertised times, excellent quality, competitive pricing.

The BEST Chinese in Stony, plus the service (Sam) is fantastic!

Had a takeaway from the golden sea on our way back through stony. Haven't been here for a while but utter rubbish compared to the old days. Used to use every week 30 years ago as it was the first in the area really. Still the same chap behind the counter. Time has been kind to him he still looks the same as 30 years ago. Had sweet and sour chicken balls. Used to get 5-6 and they were big and crispy with good meat. Now you get 10 grease ridden soft balls of tendons and connective tissue. The crispy shredded chilli beef was definitely not beef or edible. The rest was just completely uninspiring. Such a shame but this often happens when these places source cheaper and cheaper meat to maximise profit. With such an extensive range of good Asian cuisine in the city I won't be back for a while.

The best egg fried rice in Milton Keynes. Travel further and past quite a few Chinese Takeaways because the rice is cooked better here and is worth travelling the distance to get a real tasty takeaway 😋 Sam is always very friendly too 🍜 🍚 😊
