THE GOLDEN GROVE INN in County Durham

Booked for my son birthday party. Can't fault the place or saff, absolutely fantastic around... Party was book from 12:30 untill when we wanted, at a great price... We couldn't believe the amount of food that was put on, and the extra mile of decorations was brilliant.. Need to say a big thank you to all the staff, especially the lady doing the party entertainment, went above and beyond. And the new owner, speaking to the wife to ask if everything was ok... 💯% recommend this venue. Value for money 💰...

Had my sons 7th birthday party here today it was great, the westlea pub took all the pressure of us organising it all down to the party games and food. I would definitely recommend this place for parties. Thank you for a great time!!!

Wow what can I say and where do I start! I booked a surprise 50th birthday party and everything was done for me and nothing was a trouble. ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT service, perfect hosts, couldn't have asked for better. Top notch venue run by top notch people. I I wvee needed to plan a party this would be absolutely be the place to have it. Perfect in every way!.

We had a christening do here at the weekend, honestly couldn't fault them at all. The owner did a fantastic job of decorating the room and providing hot water for cuppas, Music and entertainment etc. Kim checked in the week before to see if there was anything else we needed, nothing was too much to ask for. The staff were all around lovely and everyone comment on how much they enjoyed it. Thank you so much again. We will definitely be using again for future party's 😊

Food order was wrong both times that I went and the second time the food was cold

Me and my family are usual regulars on Tuesday bingo night and the odd night or weekends and always have a good time but since the new owner has came in the place is slowly going down hill. Tonight we were in a small room on side with no reason. It made no sense and rather uncomfortable compared to being in the main room. It was cold awkward even tho it wasn't rammed you still feel like you were in each others lap. The front room with main bar is lovely and welcoming where this room was like a family activity area at frankland prison. Need sorting as its a good night normally but few people we have spoke too who regularly attend have noticed it's on the decline since the new owner

Had Sunday lunch, the roast beef melted in my mouth. The staff very helpful as I'm in a wheelchair

The meal was home cooked,beautiful ,veg meat and awesome meaty gravy highly highly recommended ,loads for the value ,and price .!! Superb .!!

Great pub...I haven't tried the alcohol though

Charged me 9.10 for a pint of coors and a double gin and lemonade. Turns out the pint was 3.30 so paid 5.80 for a double gin. When a guy asked why he was being charged more the bartender said if you buy the drinks downstairs they're cheaper than what you get served in the function room.

We have stayed at westlea fot 2 nights.The rooms are very clean,warm and welcoming.The staff are very freindly,helpful.Nothing too much trouble.A very nice choice of breakfast.Customers also very welcoming.We would definately stay here again.

Not very clean outside, cigarette ends littering the car park. More like a scruffy cafe inside.

Quite busy nice and friendly drinks not cheap they do a roast on Sunday must try and have a good choice of hot dishes reasonably priced

The owners have put a lot of time and effort into this venue and have turned it around.

My local pub great atmosphere and lovely home cooked meal, Does a great Carvery on a Sunday, Also has live bands every Saturday and a free SoftPlay Area.
