The Golden Garden in North East Lincolnshire

First time ordering and the last was told collect in half hour was waiting well over an hour and it wasn't worth the wait . Was absolutely vile Stone cold and over priced worst Chinese we'e ever tasted. Don't waste your money

Egg fried rice - terrible, hardly any egg Singapore noodles - terrible, no spice Pancake rolls - terrible, mash potato and broccoli Chips - average, at least they were crispy

No, the title is not a mistake. I ordered a king prawn curry. The container I was sold had 9 (not even 10) king prawns, the rest was sauce and huge pieces of onions, with a few peas floating on the surface. This is the easy way to make the tub appear full. I was neither pleased nor impressed. The rice was OKish.

we've been using golden garden for the 13 years we've lived here,always freshly cooked,always hot,never had a bad meal,always spot on.

Didn't enjoy this Chinese takeaway, rice very soggy and bland. Chow me in tasted fusty and sweet and sour chicken balls were slimey on the inside of the batter. The sauce was really sour too. Curry sauce was green and watery. Really not nice at all. Won't be using again 🤢

What has really made me write this review was seeing a big container full of precooked rice, when it was nearly closing time, a spoon full of that was going to be mine, it had no lid on the top , just open, I do reheat rice myself, but it is stored correctly Nhs recommendations Yes, you can get food poisoning from eating reheated rice. However, it's not the reheating that causes the problem, but the way the rice has been stored before it is reheated. How does reheated rice cause food poisoning? Uncooked rice can contain spores of Bacillus cereus, a bacterium that can cause food poisoning. The spores can survive when rice is cooked. If rice is left standing at room temperature, the spores can grow into bacteria. These bacteria will multiply and may produce toxins (poisons) that cause vomiting or diarrhoea. The longer cooked rice is left at room temperature, the more likely it is that the bacteria or toxins could make the rice unsafe to eat. Back to the food, not great not bad, not expensive, minimum order paying by card £10, the food was piping hot when I last ordered and collected it, so it is one of those things, I will try the one not far from The Golden Garden and compare

Tonight I ordered a special mix and stated I didn’t want rice just noodles and pork balls instead of chicken and they said it would be 15mins. 1 hour later after my order is finally ready half cold and all mixed up. Not what I ordered at all. Always gone there and to be fair my order has never been fully right.

Couldnt be bothered to cook for 1 tonight so decided to have a takeaway. After perusing around the many choices I opted for the Crispy Chicken Thai style. It was really spot on . Great dish highly recommended

Golden Garden is always busy on a Saturday Nite so phoned early, managed to get through on phone st 5.15pm,girl said food will be ready for collection at 6pm,they don't do delivery at Golden Garden,we arrived just before 6pm to a full takeaway with 20 people waiting,finally food arrived at 6.30pm,half hour later than promised and a hour and quarter after phonecall,good food,not cheap and expect a wait,even if you pre order on the phone like I did

Good service and good quality food at a reasonable price. I always ring my order in and it is ready in about 15 minutes. Wish they did delivery.

Instead of one of my old faithfuls, I plumped for the beef chilli and Thai sweet basil while The Boss had chop suey, the latter was perfectly acceptable apparently while mine was like something from another planet. Sooo fresh and light on the palate and extremely moreish, the only thing lacking was a little bit more punch from the chilli but that's more down to me liking very spicy food than a criticism of the dish itself. Outstanding.

Good value for money varied menu with vegetarian choices available. I have never had a bad meal from here.

Ordered a take out and was pleased with order. Had a starter of chicken satay skewers that were really tasty and in fact almost a meal in itself. For mains had beef and mushroom and egg fried rice. Was nice, but next-time will probably order boiled rice, as the fried rice was over cooked for me.

Popped back in a couple of evenings ago and yet again were delighted with the freshness, quality and value of the meal.

Popped in here to collect three lovely meals. Generally the standard of food here is very high, though we've had a couple of just good, rather than outstanding experiences recently. Not last night, though. All three meals were piping hot and absolutely delicious. I regularly have the Singapore Fried Rice and I ask for fresh chillies to give extra freshness and 'punch'. Less than £15 for three very happy people. Yum.

As our usual Chinese takeaway was not open we decided to eat from The Golden Garden. We rang our order through before hand as we thought it would be busy 01469 578055 . I have to say the food was very nice. It was reasonably priced for two people. £11.45 We had a special with sweet and sour sauce , king prawn , onion and bean sprouts in garlic sauce , curry sauce. The food was not greasy . £11.45. The sweet and sour was not to our liking it was quite runny but this was our only criticism. There is parking facilities at the front however this also is the parking for the chip shop next door and can get quite busy as it was tonight making it really difficult to park.

Golden Garden is an excellent Chinese takeaway, I cannot fault any food bought from there. They have a 5* hygiene score from the council and you can see through to the kitchen from the waiting area. It pays to phone your order through in advance, as it can get busy. Prices are reasonable.
