Al-Amin in North East Lincolnshire

I ordered my food today it was delivered on time but unfortunately it was cold and greasy. Onion bhajis were cold and not cooked through into middle. Chicken bhuna was greasy and cold I won’t be ordering again

Just stopped half way through our take away meal... Can't eat any more - bland watery curry. Probably the blandest curry I've ever eaten. Zero taste. Chicken tikka tastes like it came from a can... Like an old school meal. I think the decision to hire a 7 year old chef, may come back to bite them. Also, food arrived cold. Avoid.

Food cold, no taste to the curry sauce, curry sauce like water, when you complain the manager puts the phone down...

Have had a few lovely meals fro here, the staff are attentive, friendly and very professional. The food is absolutely gorgeous and nothing is too much trouble for them very kind people and do their bit for charities as well

An excellent meal - thoroughly enjoyable. Very friendly staff and not a long wait considering the amount of delivery meals being prepared on a Saturday early evening. Mask worn, and good internal distancing while ordering and paying.

Great food from here most times I order. Seems like they may have different chefs though as the North Indian Garlic Chicken seems to vary in how it is prepared from time to time, still tastes good but not as nice at it was a few years ago when I used to order when it had big chunks of garlic in it. Delivery is a bit slow, has taken over two hours before to arrive before, but that is probably a result of how busy it is due to the great tasting food. Would also be good if they check to make sure that they put everything in before sending it as I can't count the number of times I have ordered a mixed grill and they forget to include the mint sauce... Anyway, even with the problems listed above, it is still a great place to get food due to how tasty it is which is why I awarded a very good.

the meals were tasteless and not madras strength as ordered...also when collected was told it was cash only...i had asked to pay on phone but was told pay on collection and no mention of cash only...lucky i had some cash with me or as i now know unlucky as meals were terrible

We ordered through Just Eat. There was a delay with our delivery but once the food arrived it was more than worth the wait. The delivery driver was very friendly and the food was absolutely delicious, I'd be bold enough to say the Indian take-away we've ever had. Most enjoyable, would recommend and will definitely be ordering again.

Ordered a banquet for 4 people they said it would take 2 hours but took 2 &half. Main course missing, popadoms missing and changed a curry to what we chose. Rang to explain order was wrong to be put on to an angry chef who abruptly hung up on me!!! Rang back to an abusive chef who said I don’t need your custom and hung up once again.. Never had such rudeness and just making the public aware of this takeaway.

Order placed at 6pm. Delivery time was advised 7.20pm. Called on 3 occasions chasing order. Got told "well were busy". Actually arrived 9.20pm. Not so much as an apology off the driver or the call taker at the restaurant. Food was cold. Poor level of customer service.

We have just ordered a set meal from here for a quite night in we though order food put a film on we ordered the food have been watching the film it's nearly finish so rang they said the food will be setting off in 5 minutes That's over a hour and a half ago we ordered there was no mention when we ordered or the wait time we won't be try again just a joke

Ordered through the website which was simple to do. Took 45 minutes but that was fine fornthem standard of food we ate. Portions were big enough for kids to share between two (with naans each). The choice to up or lower the spice in each type of dish was a great idea. Wasn't the cheapest but was very good value for money

Ordered a delivery for only three people from this restaurant and paid though the Just Eat App. The App stated that food would take about 80 minutes which we took as acceptable for a busy saturday night. 15 minutes after the stated time and with no sign of the food I rang the restaurant and spoke to the woman taking orders over the phone who checked with her "chef" as to why our order was delayed. She used the old excuse of them being very busy and that it would be another 15 to 20 minutes before it would be prepared with no time for the actual delivery. 25 minutes later with still no sign of the delivery I rang the restaurant again and the woman had to check again before telling us that the delivery driver was about to deliver it. At this point if we hadn't have paid with the app up front I would have just cancelled the order. When asked why they couldn't have kept us updated the woman at the restaurant made the excuse that she was too busy answering phone calls to be able to ring everyone whose deliveries were delayed. Two hours after making the original order we received the delivery. The service this restaurant is unacceptable. I could maybe understand it if our order was a large one but it only comprised three main dishes and chips, naan and onion bhajis. The Byriani dish we ordered did not come with an omelette accompaniment which other similar restaurants provide either. Poor service from a restaurant which I will never order from or recommend to anyone again.

We ordered a takeaway last night (does not happen often). We ordered from one of the 3 finalists listed to win the Grimsby Telegraph's Best Indian/Sri Lankan takeaway, namely, Al-Amin Indian Cuisine "Taste of Paradise" on Cromwell Road in Grimsby. We must say there is a reason that Al Amin is the best Indian/Sri Lankan takeaway in the area, as the food is authentic, portions are huge, prices are not out of this world and most of all it is very close to homemade food. The owner and chef Fernando Senaratha shares my passion of cooking with spices and it is quite evident as the food is so tasty and no dish tasted the same. We ordered the chef's signature dish, the Colombo Lamb Curry which was on the spicy side for my wife but perfect for myself was a wonderful combination of spices, vegetables and most importantly huge (nearly 2 inches) cubes of tender lamb. The Badami Pasanda, a North Indian dish, was Amanda's favourite. It's a very mild dish consisting of large chunks of BBQ'd chicken breast in a creamy sauce made with ground almonds, herbs and spices. Nawabi King Prawns are cooked in a medium hot, sweet & tangy sauce. Prawns very quite large in size too. We both loved this dish. The 4th dish was a quite unique Sri Lankan dish made from godhamba roti (a type of Sri Lankan roti), vegetables, egg, meat (lamb or chicken) and spices. We accompanied all this with a very fragrant coconut pilau & peshwari naan. Anyway it definitely comes highly recommended from both of us. Try it out and hopefully you'll enjoy it as much as we did. Delivery is quick too which was a bonus.

Love this takeaway. We have a banquet meal for 2 (18.95) and we eat half and put the other half in the freezer for the following week, there is just so much food and it is delicious.

Took over 2 hours to arrive when told it would be 1 hour 15, ordered a chicken passanda, but received a lamb passanda and the person who ordered the meal does not eat lamb so was pretty upset! we ordered a lamb madras and the meat was burnt, chilli naan was plain and bland, Currys which were meant to be medium, came very hot and unable to enjoy! ordered from here many times before and enjoyed but will never be ordering, very disappointed.

If you want your food to arrive in a normal delivery time DON'T order from this Indian. Ordered at 6pm and was told it would be 1 hour... however it didn't arrive until 8pm! And even when the food had eventually arrived we found that they had completed messed up the order. They gave us an extremely spicey lamb pasanda instead of a medium CHICKEN pasanda, all of the meals were extremely hot when only medium spice was ordered, the lamb madras was burnt and the chilli naan was bland! I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone!

I agree sometimes you have to give a 2nd chance after our first experience of collecting ourselves we was waiting for about 80 minutes and whilst there the poor girl serving was getting constant telephone calls from angry customers wanting to know where their delivery was. It was getting embarrassing. But still food was ok. This time we ordered over the phone for it to be delivered. She did tell us that it would be 1 hour to 1.30 hours wait. It wasn't ideal but we accepted this. I ordered a banquet. After 2 hours and it still wasn't here I tried ringing the shop. It rang but no one picked up. It finally arrived after 2.15 hours. I was nearly passed it by now. I enjoyed the starter but the food was nearly cold and had to reheat in microwave. Then they forgot to put naan bread in which put my hubby in mood and he left his food. Come on Al-Amin I know you can produce some tasty food...but you need to get the rest right because you will start losing customers. We will not be back after 2 bad experiences.

A veces es bueno, a veces es malo, la mayoría de las veces es normal. He visitado esta semana y pedimos una comida para llevar grandes para la familia. La comida estaba bien y no tenía nada de especial. Los recipientes de la comida son pequeñas de plástico, a diferencia de la mayoría de los demás llevar indio que utilizan la grandes de aluminio. Yo terminé de sentir un poco estafados. La comida estaba bien.

Después de leer recientemente sobre cómo Al Amin fue uno de los mejores de la zona, decidí darle una oportunidad. Eso fue hace dos semanas. . . . . Había un par de mezcla de ups, me decepcionó, me ofrecieron la rectificación, pero vamos a olvidarlo, pensé que les daría una segunda oportunidad! ¡Guau! Quieres calor y derretir en la boca sabroso cordero cocinado lento otoño aparte? Conseguir llamando Al Amin en Cromwell road y pedir el Cordero Cobra Kochchi, es sin duda, el mejor cordero que he pedido! Me sorprende, en mi opinión, me decepcionó hace un par de semanas que me propuse a mí mismo no ir otra vez pero cuando me venga a cenar con local celebrity canta sus alabanzas que pensé que iba a tener otro bash!

Ordered the banquet for 2 absolutely gorgeous we enjoyed every mouthful lots and lots of beautiful chicken breasts we couldn't eat it all thank you Alamein we will be seeing you again

Very disappointed not happy after 2 hour wait chicken biryani came burnt.The manger said i send the food again I said how long he said not long flipping heck another 35 mins wait i rang and got abuse down the phone because i said i am going to sleep it was 22:30 so he did not like when i said i send it too trading standards either. I tried to ask for my money back but he never gave me time I won't be using them again .

Primera vez pidiendo desde aquí y sin duda pedir de nuevo, pedimos la cena de calle 1 para dos y fue precioso! Realmente grandes porciones, la entrega fue un poco lento, pero vale la pena la espera! ! !

A menudo uso Al Amin para ofertas noche de la semana. La comida y el precio es fantástico para una comida a mitad de semana. Hay opciones para actualizar ciertas partes de la comida como el naan, que es genial para nosotros.

Try this place out. It is nice and also resoanable priced. Get a good deal enough to feed 4 on the banquet deal. Quick delivery and was hot on delivery. Worth a try. Like if it helped.

It's been a while since I used this place. I thought I'd take advantage of the banquet meal as it sounded good value. Somehow I ended up paying a few quid over the £18.95 for a couple of tweaks.The quality wasn't great, just about edible but not enjoyable. However within 90 minutes of eating, I was running to the bathroom with griping stomach pains (and I'm used to eating Indian food).The chicken was supposed to be tandoori but certainly didn't taste like it of have that soft moist texture - it was so dry. The lamb was shocking - fatty, tough in places. Sauces lacked flavour, naan was stone cold, popadoms were completely broken up.Unfortunately I won't be ordering from here again. Most went in the bin.

Going back a year or so the food was steadily going down hill and became appalling to the stage were I stopped ordering. About a month or so ago a group of friends was round and raving about how al Amin was under new management and food was amazing. Against my judgement we placed a order and I am so glad we did, food arrived very quickly and was fantastic, since this meal I have ordered twice more with the same outstanding results, the cheesy chilli chicken starter & saag paneer are amazing and would be my recommendation !!Keep up the good work guys !!

Good take away food. Chicken tikka was nice. I am unsure if do sit in meals but the take away food is nice. Reasonably priced given the local area. Be good if they do buy 5 meals get in free on delivery option as well

Bad service waited 2 hrs for delivery then rung to complain to get told to cancel order rather then just knocking some money of won't be recommending to any one

Ordered 2 main dishes, a side dish and a naan bread and it came to nearly £20. Don't mind paying that when the quality is there, but the food wasnt as good as it should have been. The byriani sauce was watery and the dish wasn't served with an egg (what byriani is known for) the side dish of saag paneer was poor quality and the naan bread was quite stodgy with not much filling. We tried it as we have driven past and had a menu delivered, but I think next time we will order from our usual place.

Food was reasonably priced, and was quite good to eat! The king prawn masala, rice and poppadoms with chutney were very good - however the cheese naan had about as much cheese on it as the moon, and was as tough as my work boots! Upon collection, I felt as though I was a bit of a nuisance coming to pick up my dinner - indeed the person on the front desk was juggling a phone, calculator and my change, and certainly lacked politeness! The first thing he said when I arrived was "sit down please", which came across as more of an order, rather than a request! Certainly had better, probably wouldn't order in the future!

100% the worst takeaway I've had in years, rude and unhelpful staff wouldn't recommend to anyone avoid like the plague.

Seriously, I cannot say a bad word about this takeaway... We have only started coming here since the new year and so far so good.... Once in January and 2 days ago, the food has been out of the world, lots of taste and piping hot !! The staff could not be more friendly... I always collect my food and the staff are nothing but polite.. I would highly recommend !!

My partner and I treated ourselves to a take away and decided to try this place for the first time. We ordered via just eat. I ordered the medium Colombo curry which appeared to come with an option of roti, nan or rice. When it arrived, it came without the roti. I phoned the restaurant who said it was just a suggestion, not an accompaniment. I wouldn't have minded paying for a roti, I just thought it came with my meal. I had also noticed that my curry was labeled hot when I had ordered a medium. It was entirely inedible. Poor service.

I was so disappointed as this place was recommend by customers of mine. And me and my partner have been poorly all night and all day. This place is like 5 10mins from mine and the food was all cold the hottest thing was the curry an I don't mean in warm hot very disappointed in this place.

We have been getting takeaway food from Al Amin since it opened several years ago and have always found the food to be excellent, the staff friendly and good value for money. However since it was taken over by new management last year the food has really gone downhill. They appear to have a new chef who doesn't do the lovely thick, rich sauces that the old chef did. The new chef's sauces are watery and lacking in flavour and the portions are smaller and prices have gone up on some dishes.We used to go there once or twice a month, but will not be going again, so they have lost a customer and we will have to find another takeaway, (possibly the Eastern Delight in Cleethorpes, which we usually go to for an 'eat in' restaurant meal as they are the best Indian restaurant in the area and they do takeaway, but it is a lot further away from us).Wish the older owner and chef would come back to Al Amin.

Had a takeaway from Al Amin last night North Indian chiili & garlic veg, sag paneer & garlic nan.The quite garlic chilli veg had a nice sauce but was a potato fest having only a quarter slice of tomato ( does anyone eat these? ) and a few slices of carrots. Shame as the sauce was nice, some green beans and pulses would have aided tremendously. Small container for a main course costing a fiver.Sag paneer acceptable but lacking any depth, nan was cardboard worst I've ever had.For £11.50 it wasn't cheap, the excellent nearby Little China will serve you 5 large containers of food from an extensive menu for £13, not a direct comparison of food as one is Indian & the other Chinese but a direct barometer of value in this area.The flavour of the garlic chilli sauce is the only thing keeping this revue from having 2 stars, it is possible that with greater commitment to vegetarian dishes ( 40% of India is vegetarian ) this could be a decent outlet but larger containers is also a must, Little China's small containers are bigger.

Decided to try Al-Amin,after giving up on a certain other Indian takeaway/restaurant,and we are so pleased we did! Wonderful food,plenty of flavour. Very reasonably priced and order delivered within the time promised,only took 40 minutes. Will be using again next time we have curry cravings! Thank you.

Nice food, not the cheapest, but not too expensive. The waiting area is very nice, friendly staff. The waiting time is a little too long though, waited a long time for chips and a wrap and there was noone else in there and the phone didnt ring once!! However the food was nice when i got it home an i did get alot for my money. i would like to think they could do more deals though and for one person rather than just 2 upwards as only i eat it in my family.do try if you like indian food!!
