The George Tavern Oldham in Oldham

We popped in after the euros ended and were able to get some drink and had a top night. There's alway a friendly atmosphere and the music always get you moving.

Great and friendly pub and fun entertainment on a Friday and Saturday night

I will always give The George a 5 because the circumstances that Oldham council has left them in these past few years is absolutely disgusting, so even more people should try and support them, now that we don’t have many public houses left in the town centre

One staff member a blonde skinny woman always says they aren’t making cocktails at the moment every time she is asked. I have contacted the owner in private and they have said that cocktails r all hours all day and yet this woman still refuses. Hate to leave a bad review normally a lovely pub with great atmosphere just this one bartender is the problem.

Called in here after the Latics a few weeks back. It's recently re-opened after being bought by a gent from Bury. Decent few pints and reasonably busy eary evening. The very best of luck as it's a licensed premises now virtually marooned on George Street. As I often say to Oldham folk - use it or lose it!

Great place for entertainment Winner of Oldhams cleanest pub award.

One of the best bars I have been to!! the drag is out of this world and the bar staff are so friendly I travel from Salford to see them .

Fantastic, safe pub! Great for solo, couples, families, groups. Can get the same if not most drinks as surrounding pubs/clubs wayy cheaper! They have snacks at the car also. They have a TV which is only on in the day to my knowledge. They have a pool table also. Select days the pool is free but you need to be following the Facebook page to find that out. The pub offeres entertainment every evening they are open at no extra cost. This would be either a show, cabaret, dj, karaoke, a singer....at no extra cost. The pub owners David and Terri are the owners and are very friendly and very welcoming. They also have a huge presence when it's Oldham pride where they are providing a save place and entertainment to the community. Trams and buses are 2 to 5 mins away depending on your speed. Its literally the best pub in Oldham!

Warm and exceptionally fun atmosphere. Recently started working in Oldham and decided to have a solo night out and check it out. The staff, and in particular the owners, were absolutely lovely. Had a really great time and would highly recommend. Look forward to visiting again soon! Leo 😊

Amazing place - full of life and interesting characters (and that is just the bar staff !!). Great variety of events, activities and cabaret shows - the premier LGBTQI nightspot : hosted by Terri Fox of Las Vegas and Marbella Fame …with a wicked tongue. Friendly and welcoming to all ages / Genders / sexualities - an accepting and safe space to be yourself . Really good drink prices and special offers - even the security staff give you a welcome hug

My wife and son attended the recent "pride" concert. They loved it.

This is an amazing venue which is much more than a local bar, this is the hub of top quality cabaret, the gay capital of Oldham with the friendliest staff and customers that you could meet. I just spent the weekend celebrating Oldham Pride centred around The George Tavern, what a joy and privilege to be there. 😣

Friday night drag laydy was a great experience. The only complaint was that the show finished too early, much too early at just before 3 a.m. . Should have gone on 'all night long' apart from the Dolly Parton tunes. Paper Planes again.

A work trip out for a birthday, and what a fantastic night it was, the bar staff friendly and efficient and absolutely everyone was made welcome, the caberet (I know in Oldham) brilliant laughing and enjoyed every minute, shame the tram finishes earlier than the George closes, but I'll be returning, I have to say from bar staff to Miss Fox makes you want to come back, thank all for a great night

Been here in the daytime n staff are friendly. 1st time for cabaret night and will come back. Bit quiet, but week before Xmas and another effing covid variant has appeared. Gotta get tram back home, otherwise would've stayed til the end. Please give this place a go

Me and my freind had the most awsome time at the George tavern in Oldham. The host Terri fox and partner David know how to run a good bussines, from top notch caberet, to their most fantastic bar staff who were always smiling and polite manners. The drinks prices are really well priced. This is a brilliant addition to the outer Manchester area and also for Oldham.

First venture out since the pubs reopened. Tables a little cramped and seating not the best. Drinks a little overpriced considering the area. Good entertainment which has to be commended. May pop back in if up that way again.

Friendly staff and very helpful, it's not easy with these new rules but they are doing there upmost best throughout these difficult times, why hospitality as a curfew for 10pm is behond me as more cases in universities, hospitals, schools ect. Stay safe , wash hands and keep the distance, <>.

First time out OUT since lockdown ended and decided to come to The George Tavern for something Different than Manchester Gay Village Post lockdown. First impressions are fantastic! All government social distancing guideline's are being followed. You have to sign in on arrival with your name and number due to track and trace. Friendly bar staff and card payments accepted (£5 and over) Terri and David are very friendly and welcoming. The locals follow social distancing guideline's with some persuasion. But all in all a brilliant night. Highly recommended.

Lovely, helpful staff, new management makes the place have a different, warmer feel whilst keeping the original charm of the place. Brilliant place to drink and enjoy

Love the George Tavern. It's friendly relaxing and I have introduced quite a few of my friends to the pub. It's a place I definately like to go.

Lovely pub always made me feel welcome, was in here early... Was arm wrestling with a really nicr guy sorry had to slipt... Had to go get something to eat, you weren't a knob.. As you kept saying... You were a bit drunk, I wish I got your name & number... You were hot.

The beer was average but they have a nice pool table, a good time was had by all.

The George Tavern is a gay bar it is a type of place where you want to to go to if you like a little bit of fun but you have to expect the unexpected.

Comfy, cozy and welcoming. Brilliant Halloween decorations and they have a fireworks display at the weekend too. Great gin and nice friendly chat. Lovely landlord and a great little pub. Will definitely be back again!

Nice friendly staff, food is good value for money and beer prices are reasonable. Tuesdays they have an excellent pool and crib team who are recently new to the oldham east league,one opposition player was reported to have said " this team has been a breath of fresh air " putting the oo into pool!!
