The George in Hillingdon

Good find in Hounslow. Great simple Georgian dishes. Was very full. Would recommend people to give it a try if they haven't tried Georgian food before.

Pub that you would expect to find in an airport. Beer is good but a bit expensive (over £7).

Nice bar in Heathrow Terminal 5. Food is quite good. Nice selection of Big Smoke beers. Staff are excellent and hard working, they didn't stop while I was there! Good place to spend a couple of hours before your flight.

A typical pub. Food wasn't too bad.

Had a few pints at this amazing little place. Football was on and there was a small but enthusiastic group watching. Great atmosphere.

They do a great roast dinner Ge nerous portions lots of veg and proper Yorkshire puddings

The prices have risen and the service has declined. Very noisy, particularly the staff when grinding coffee beans and preparing other drinks. It used to be a nice experience to eat here before flying, that is no longer the case.

Ok but expensive. Note you can get here without going through check in but it doesn't look like it. Just go round the end of the desks.

Sajol provided excellent service during my recent visit to The Globe. He was friendly and attentive and had great knowledge about the menu and provided great recommendations for both food and drinks. The food was exceptional, with each dish being perfectly prepared and full of flavor. The atmosphere was cozy and comfortable, making for a great dining experience. I would highly recommend this restaurant and Sajol to anyone looking for a delicious meal and great service.

Came in here for some food as it looked welcoming from outside. Prices seemed okay considering it is at an airport so no problems there. Ordered chicken strips and chips. Chips arrived fairly cold and the chicken strips were undercooked and cold, risky eating here. I informed the waiter who was totaly disinterested and could not care less, no apology just took the food away and said "so your not eating this" a few mins later another customer returned the same product to the kitchen. It seems like all the staff are un-trained and just want to get paid rather than provide a good quality service. Advice is to stay away and save your money.

Good value and a great lounge area to go before heading into security check

Not sure why there are bad reviews but this place has the best airport food I ever tasted! Food arrived quickly and drinks were good as well. We had the meat platter and this was enough for 2 and every item tasted good. The chips were amazing as well, had to order another serving!

Unfortunately I decided to have some food here whilst waiting for my plane. I had chips and fried chicken bites. The chips tasted like fish and the chicken was raw. It's my fault that I did not tell them. However, in a place that serves food to people about to go on a plane, I was expecting a higher standard. The waiter was friendly but completely disappear when I was trying to pay. AVOID

Heißt jetzt „The Globe“. Standen unnötig lange rum um auf unseren Tisch zu warten obwohl so viel frei war! Einfach unaufmerksam vom Kellner. Setzt euch einfach gleich auf einen Platz der frei ist dann erspart ihr euch das lange unnötige warten. Das Essen war okay, allerdings gab es keine „Soda Getränke“ sehr schlecht organisiert

Service a bit slow, but a nice enough place.

Now called The Globe Pub and Kitchen. Food was mediocre but does have Priority Pass that gives you £15pp but most meals are over that price. This place does not know how to properly serve a Guinness and had to ask for my beer because they were waiting for it to flatten and settle. Poor service and had to ask and wait for silverware after receiving my food to begin eating.

Visited twice. The first time I was here I was served by an rude and unprofessional bartender who cant even serve customers by their position in the queue. Eventually I got served by another younger staff, he was cheerful and helpful. He made an amazing cocktail for us. We ordered two small plates the another time and the chickens were amazing.

Stopped by here for lunch. Ordered a starter and main. Order taking took about 30 minutes. Drink (sparkling water) arrived with melted ice about 20 minutes after that. A couple then decided to sit at my table and were served drinks. My main course (steak) arrived around about 30 minutes after this - no cutlery on the table - it took 10 minutes to grab somebodies attention (I wasn't leaving my luggage/food unattended at the table). So, cold steak with cold sauce, tasted OK but very fatty and the fries didn't turn up. About 30 minutes after that, the starter arrived. Almost imposible to get somebodies attention to pay the bill too. Clearly understaffed in which case tables should be blocked off rather then allowing the place to fill up. Wouldn't recommend wasting your time and money.

We had Chicken salads for lunch, and they were not good. A little lettuce, covered with cheap oil. Tasteless chicken. It was way too expensive for what was. The lemonade was made of syrup and not limes. I know airport food is not good, but this was even below average. I would rather go hungry than go back. Service was fastish; that's why it's two stars and not one

O preço é acessível, mas está em um aeroporto e o serviço é extremamente lento (estava vazio e tivemos que procurar alguém para nós atender). A comida é boa, mas não é excepcional e não vale a espera. Na próxima comerei algo em outro lugar com certeza.

Nice place, efficient and friendly staff

I arrived at Heathrow really early and searched for this place. For some reasons google maps had me walking in all sorts of directions and people I asked didn’t seem to know, so after giving up I went up to the fifth floor to look for something else and spotted it right in between the check in desks. Staff were friendly and I say “outside” and had a full English and a latte. Breakfast wasn’t the best but did the pride and to kill time I had a second latte. Pricy but that was reflected in the airport.

I never thought I would develop so much affection for an airport bar as I have done with The George. Pre security, tucked away at the far end of the check in hall it offers therapy in the midst of these worrying days, weeks, months, who knows for how much longer ?. Far from the maddening crowds, albeit a lot smaller than pre virus times, I can sit here, have a drink...or few, contemplate many things and chat to the wonderful staff. O.K. so I don't forcibly make a point of imposing myself on each and every one of them as I am only really familiar with one or two.....oh, make that three after having met the amiable Jane on my most recent visit. I see why she gets so many compliments on here, so friendly without being 'in your face' . However I have to mention Cris...the Asian guy who seems to be constantly trying to set land speed records from bar to table ! Slow down Cris...there's no prizes ! Also, once again The Star, The Sunshine, the endearing Karolina...The busy girl from Lithuania who has such a calming attitude when serving whilst possessing enthusiasm for her work. She's good (very good) at her job...infact, if Carlsberg created bar staff..........you know the rest ! And that's not the drink talking ! I am stone cold sober !

The George - Heathrow Terminal 5 was made better by Jane. Jane was so pleasant and made us both feel so welcome!! She was genuinely interested in where we were travelling to and even made suggestions about Miami - I hope that people get to meet and speak to Jane and she’s a great front of house for The George and an asset to Heathrow!! Will definitely be back to say hello next time!

Not bad for airport food. The place is based on a pub setting, so pub grub and beer, just what you need. The meme is pub classics, along with some draft beers, just what you need before a long flight. The location is in the public area of the airport, not airside, so sorry if you are transit within T5 you cannot easily Visit.

Despite the lack of staff on shift Jane was incredible. Friendly service with a smile demonstrating great customer service even though she was rushed off her feet she still managed to talk to us when an could! I also observed her chatting to other customers and asking where they were going etc! Thank you Jane you started our holiday off to a great start!! You are an asset to The George.

Coming to T5 for our holiday trip but being here abit early due to the unknown m25. Thought we would have a cheeky pre holiday drink and found ourselves at the George. Great atmosphere and fairly busy. Getting a seat at the bar Jane served us and what can I say. Brilliant customer service. Jane the George would be lost without you.

Best gluten free pizza ever I have ever had in my life! They also serve gluten free beer. Next time I will order my pizza again in this restaurant! Thanks Jane!

Great service with a smile. We had fish and steak sandwiches plus coffee and ice cream to follow. All tasty and presented nicely. They have a good selection of beers and the Guinness was first rate.

Previously when we’ve been to T5 we have had breakfast at Carluccios which has been disappointing so we thought we’d try the George. So glad we did. English breakfast was lovely with good sausages and bacon. The coffees were excellent quality. What really made it though was the staff. We were looked after by Julie mainly but also had some contact with Mini. Both were lovely,friendly ladies. We will definitely go back next time we travel 😀

Having been in the restaurant business for over 30 years I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of the food!! Excellent and not your usual bland pub chain rubbish. The service from our Thai waitress was impeccable . The best quality airport pub I've been to ( and I've been to quite a few!!)

Really really disappointed with this place. Although the food was great, the waiter took 45 minutes to charge us, and kept ignoring my table. The service definitely sucks here. Do not come here even if you are starving!

It's an airport (so prices airporty but I found them readsonable) and I was flying the next day so stayed on the departure side not past security. Came here for a few drinks and a solid burger as didnt fancy the higher prices in the hotel. All good for a nice feed.

My partner and I come to this restaurant in T5 once a week as I travel a lot. The food is delicious, but it's Priscila's great customer service that keeps bringing us back! She's very friendly and goes the extra mile! Ask for her if you plan on visiting :)

Handy for a quick drink or light meal before disembarking from Terminal 5. It's landside (before security), so non travellers can join in. It's a lot quieter than the air side bars! Nice selection of beers and great service from Jane!

Nice relaxing bar waiting to check in. Very happy to enjoy a great pint of goose IPA served by the very helpful and friendly Jane. Happy to review with such a pleasant welcome.

This is an OK place to spend some time before going through to the madness of duty free shops. Nice relaxing place to have a drink and not to noisy. Even the Sports TV wasn't too intrusive. Staff OK too.

Visited for some food whilst waiting on connecting flight. Ordered the fish and chips along with a couple beers. Jane behind the bar was top service and couldn't of been nicer. Highly recommended.

We were picking my daughter up and had ages to spare as the M25 had behaved unexpectedly well. We went to the George in departures T5 at Heathrow to eat. Priscilla who served us could not be faulted - cheerful, helpful, knowledgeable. She made our visit a real pleasure. The food and drink were great - good quality food with a wide choice for both, including real ale. Priscilla made it feel like a proper meal out, not just wasting time waiting in an airport. Had time to spare and went to The George at T5 Heathrow had great and friendly service from Jane and the price where very good for an airport if you have time I would recommend a visit and have a bit to eat with a drink and friendly service from Jane

The closest you will get to an actual resteruant in T5. good pub grub, not too expensive considering the location, and the food was served promptly. Would recommend to those in need of a sit down meal, because the atmosphere Is also relaxing.

Came in while waiting for a flight first meal out in t month due to the nature of my job, great welcome atmosphere very helpful staff in particular Jane who made sure I had everything i needed at all times.

In having some time to kill, a surprisingly nice find in Heathrow terminal 5 at the George, next to South security end. Lovely to have the peace and atmosphere of the place before going airside. Nice chats with friendly staff, nibbles and a chilled pint of Aspell. Will be hard not to make it a tradition!

Always visit before travelling on staff always willing to help . Jane has been here for a while exceptional personality very pleasant barmaid can’t do enough to help . Bar is cosy nice atmosphere food awesome should always try before travelling on !!

Location: Heathrow T5 Departure Price: Airport Price Taste: I was expecting some old school fish and chips but I got a normal fish and chips with a Tartar and a green sauce dip and a Heinz ketchup, english mustard, mayonnaise, hp and tabasco sauce. Atmosphere: ok, sit outside and you can watch people walk by and sit inside you have a pub atmosphere. Service: You sit and order, they take your order, they serve, you eat and ask for bill. Staff is ok. Pros: In T5. They have a 15min service pledge and food was indeed serve within 15min. Cons: Fish and chips could be better. Staff could be more tactful. Was giving 4 stars as I was posting this when I was still eating. What drop 2 stars now was because the waitress came and demanded I settled the bill although I was still enjoying my cola.

I'm traveling back home and have a layover in the Heathrow airport. It's been a long day and a nice sit-down meal was much needed. The bartender Jane was very pleasant and quite helpful with the dishes I was unfamiliar with. The food, sausage hash, was tasty and had wonderful presentation. It was an overall good experience. (The apple Ale on tap was also good, akin to angry orchards back in the states)

Great Food & Beer Stopped at The George With my family as arrived early for an evening flight. Beer was great of the tap served by the lovely Jane. We decide to stay for some food before long haul flight. Food was great served by Redwan. Will be definitely stopping on the way back.

I drink in here regularly due to working at the airport. The staff, especially Jane, are always super attentive and friendly even when rushed off their feet. They have a good range of drinks and are reasonably priced for a bar/restaurant in the airport. Definitely pop in if your travelling through T5.

Had a pint and a bite to eat at the George, cause we had some time to kill before our flight. We ordered a selection of starters which we were able to choose freely at 3 for £12. The food was great and the team was helpful and friendly. Jane the bar maid was very sweet and helped us choose the right beers to go with our food. Very pleasant experience! Check in at the George before your flight.

The George is pretty good for having the "pub grub" before departure. From finger food, through pizzas to burgers. Everything you need with your pint. I went for cheeseburger on a charcoal bun and it was very satisfying. All kinds of pints available and good selection of gin. Super friendly staff! Will be back for more 😁

Very welcoming place with friendly and hard working staff

Should be called the Five Tuns, no need to change the name. Apart from that there's always a seat and although the staff aren't the most attentive you can usually get a drink swiftly enough. Food is pricey but decent. I can't pass through LHR without stopping here as this is where my wife and I got engaged!
