The Gate Inn in Bolsover

It's a bit rough around the edges but the beer was fine.. Not sure why they need 4 cameras in the blokes toilets though 🫣

Terrible Experience – Homophobic Treatment I cannot begin to describe how awful my experience was at The Gate Inn in Shirebrook. My boyfriend and I were treated disgracefully simply for being gay. Not only did they kick us out without any reason, but we later found out they have a history of doing the same to other LGBTQ+ individuals. The staff were incredibly rude and even went so far as to follow us into the restroom, making us feel unsafe and uncomfortable. It’s appalling that in this day and age, a place like this still exists with such blatant discrimination. I would never recommend this pub to anyone, (with unreasonable drink and food prices) especially those in the LGBTQ+ community, as it is clear they do not offer a safe or welcoming environment. If i could rate this place minus stars I would, we were told it was the “landlords rules”, absolute nonsense, just an excuse to rid gay people out of their pub, as we were in a private room, absolute scrotes were in the main area of the pub, as I walked past multiple times to go outside for fresh air I was asked by people in there if I was ‘sniffing tonight’ yet me and my boyfriend were the ones kicked out for no reason when they are allowed to stay, cannot plead this enough absolutely stay away!

The atmosphere and people are grt got to no quite a few people and made friends food is grt only on a Monday darts night and Tues pool night

Great local pub. Warm friendly service, hosted by Pat and Dominic. Great choice of beverages on draft. Pool table and juke box. Available for hire for weddings and parties. Kids functions a speciality. Dog friendly.

Nice place, very good beer and really friendly owners. Good music and local guests are friendly. There is a billiard, darts. Just super bar, I recommend.
