We went for the Sunday lunch on Sunday and the food was amazing. Compliments to the chef! Really good value for money and the staff were really nice. We will definitely be coming back again

It was our first time staying at the Garrison hotel and I must say we will be definitely be staying again,the rooms nice and clean and breakfast morning after was excellent,definitely recommend this hotel.x

They advertise Sunday lunch but when ordering they didn't have enough and very slow service despite lots of staff standing around. Also I felt for the young gentleman as he was being bossed around by the younger lady despite her not doing anything

Rooms are big, with a bathtub, nice bed. Check out time is 12.00 - excellent!!! 💯👌

I must make it clear that I only ate at the Garrison, I didn't book a room. I gave a one star review because of the temperature in the bar. I visited 13th Feb 2025 and it was a very cold day. Almost everyone in the bar had their coats on as it was so cold inside. The heating was lukewarm but there was a constant cold draft. When I asked staff why it was so cold I was told it was because a part needed replacing, which they were waiting for. When the booking was made it should have been made clear that it was extremely cold in the bar, I could have then decide whether I wanted to go or not. The staff were very professional, apologetic but I could see that they were very cold too. The food was nice but I was very disappointed and probably will not book again until the weather warms up.

This was the best place ever. We went for a sentimental reason This hotel was amazing. The service from walking into reception till leaving was amazing. Definitely will return. 👌👍👌👍😍

We had our Christmas doo on 21st Dec,2024 my sister has a oxygen machine the waitress went above and beyond but didn't get her name,she did everything to make sure she was OK,the food wasn't as good this year was disapointed,starter was nice,we all said sprouts were hard and we had to ask for gravey for our pork meal as it didnt come with it,just a bbq sauce so it was dry.pudding was nice.the food wasn't very hot only warm.wasnt worth the money you pay,

Shockingly bad, awful decor, heating restricted, not seen a lick of paint or maintenance since the 1970’s. Rude staff and appalling food, late breakfast and minimal options laid out reviews on here are obviously paid or friends of owners. Can’t imagine anyone being satisfied with this 2* property, certainly not for the price.

A great hotel made up an old army barracks so has lots of little quirks because of it that adds to the character. The rooms are good and comes with a breakfast that will fill you up. The bar has amazing food and drink with great service and friendly staff.

Stayed here quite a few times now as the location of the hotel is perfect for me to get to my office. Im Sheffield born and bred but moved away a few years ago but return every few months. The rooms are comfortable but i feel that the bathrooms are in need of some serious updating. My toilet flush only worked after about 8/9 flushed and the shower head wouldn’t stay up and kept dropping down as i tried to shower. The staff are lovely and the food is top notch and will keep staying there but it needs a little updating.

Excellent staff, excellent room, excellent location. Very quiet in the restaurant, which is a shame because this place should be booming. Probably the fact they had no sirloin on offer or rump (Fridaynight)... something is wrong and needs fixing. Otherwise a great place could be exceptional with the guidance. Would have been 5star if I could have ordered what I wanted.

AVOID BOOKING HERE!!!!!! We had our wedding reception at the garrison. It went great with the first wedding coordinator but then ringing to make additional payments to find out they had left so we had to do the whole meeting again. We called again and found out she had left, this happened 4 times in total. We then had Stevie who we thought was great with explaining everything. Sadly this wasn’t the case. We paid for the private bar to open in the function room which NEVER opened. To be told they didn’t have enough staff because they had another party on. This divided the guests sadly. The DJ we sent all requests through (first dance etc) he was confused and had to ask us multiple times what our first dance song would be. We had a cake delivered the day before and was told it would stay in the fridge as it was buttercream and would melt otherwise. The cake when we arrived to the venue was drooping and falling as it wasn’t kept in the fridge for long enough which resulted in us having to cut the cake early which meant most guests couldn’t see this. The venue wasn’t meant to be cleared until after 12am but we got told to move multiple times off a table as they wanted to clean up early. We asked multiple time for the AC to be turned on as guests were uncomfortable with the heat and we were ignored. We tried to find Stevie multiple times during the evening and the staff didn’t know where she was, we then found out she’d gone home. We were promised a bridal suite for the night of our wedding included in the package but it was the same as everyone else’s. We were informed from guests who paid over £100 for one nights stay that there was mould in the bathroom and broken toilet seat. We did see this as we went in to see the bathroom as they were upset. We have emailed Stevie and been advised the manager was meant to be calling to listen to our complaints. We have NEVER received a phone call and doubt we will. Honestly, if you’re thinking of booking the function room then don’t. I’d advise going elsewhere with how we’ve been treated.

We have been coming for lunch every three months for a get together for old work mates for along time now. About 5 years. We find the same staff very friendly and service is great. We came yesterday but our only moan was the menu. A few of us always have a great salad with choice of chicken, Brie etc. the new menu only has one salad on the starter menu and that’s it. Another lady is vegatarian. One starter and one main course is salmon but the only other option is sweet potato curry!!! Shame if you don’t like curry. I must admit the old menu was a large menu but the new menu is more like an evening menu and not too good for lunch. We all still had a good time and did enjoy our food but choice poor.

Really great place to stay, especially those who are a fan of speedway as it’s in walking distance of the owlerton stadium. Great rooms and service. Breakfast and pub menu are lovely. Highly recommend.

Great location ! We got the tram into Sheffield then the train straight through the Peak District. Got an open return so we could hop on and off when we pleased :) Sheffields night life also has an amazing atmosphere and great music taste !

Some much potential - needs a bit of investment to spruce it up.

Perfect for sheffield city center and meadowhall not too far away. Breakfast is amazing and plenty to chose from.

Cheap hotel for a night working away, was a lot of noise from outside and the bathroom was a little outdated and dirty, however the staff were lovely and the breakfast surprisingly good. Beautiful garden as well.

Helpful staff clean and tidy rooms

The location was perfect, 2 mins walk to a tram stop, 10 mins from the city centre. Staff exceptional, friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. The choice of bar food was great and the service was excellent.

For a large function, staffing levels in both the kitchen and bar were extremely poor. One person serving on the bar when they have a function on with over 70 people plus regulars in main bar is simply not good enough.

Tidy and clean rooms. Nicely furnished. Excellent customer service, very friendly and will go the extra mile to help you out. Nice restaurant and bar with a good selection of wines and ales.

We've been a few times and always enjoy our stay.

You can stay here. They serve food as well, the staff were friendly, it was nice and clean. We didn't have anything to eat when we went but what we saw other people eating it looked really nice and freshly cooked. And in a good location for the trams and buses

Fantastic value for money. Clean with comfortable bed. Free view and WiFi available, easy to park. Disappointed the bar closed at 9. Food OK nothing special but nice enough. Breakfast good with lots of choice.

Absolutely lovely place this. The atmosphere in and around the Garrison Hotel,restaurant, and bar is very welcoming and friendly. The bar and restaurant are amazing. The food is very nice and portion sizes are big. The hotel rooms are excellent and very very spacious and extremely well kept. All the staff are EXTREMELY friendly,polite and helpful. I would strongly recommend the Garrison Hotel to anyone who's looking to stay in Sheffield for business or pleasure..

Went to the Garrison Bar for lunch....not been for some time but it is as good as ever.

Room was a bit gloomy burn marks in the carpet. Ripped pillowcase solid bed .. Bright light right outside the window even the curtains couldn't block it out. Breakfast was terrible everything burnt .

Stayed 1/3/24-4/3/24 Good full breakfast, and as I cant have alcohol at the moment good selection non alcoholic of drinks at the bar, The rooms are very nice, will be back in the summer and thank you to all the staff that look after us.

Comfortable, warm and great value.

Held my birthday party at the hotel. Staff went the extra mile to iron out problems caused by arranging booking from Dorset and unable to view room until day before the event. Party was enjoyed by all, the buffet was amazing, special mention to the homemade coleslaw! Rooms well appointed, bed comfy and considering it was February nice and warm. Lovely weekend.
