The restaurant is very overpriced. £7+ for a small panini. Bought a scone instead, which was tasty but would have been extra with cream and jam and the prices for a cream tea were not displayed. Not enough seating inside for dog owners. There is plenty in the outside areas, but too cold at this time of year I later went to the garden centre to get some plants and seed potatoes today. The houseplants were healthy, attractive and varied but very expensive. Around £15 for a 5 inch pot. I would have said those pits were worth nearer £9. The sign for the ssed potatoes said 'Fill a Bag' for the set price. I bought 4 bags and filled them to the top. The cashier claimed that I had too many in the bags and I started I had just filled them as instructed. She said I should be able to fold the tops of the bags over. This was not made clear on the signs when I was selecting my potatoes. I felt her tone was unnecessarily rude and accusatory. I spent nearly £100 in the shop and cafe and, by her tone, she seemingly aimed to make me feel uncomfortable and chastised as a customer. Puts me off going out of my way to spend my money here in future, which is a shame. The walks around here are lovely. Perhaps I will just bring my own food and hot drinks next time and shop elsewhere to spare myself the condemnatory attitude of the till lady.

I have just had the most terrible experience at this cafe. While I was drinking my coffee, I noticed that a woman at a nearby table had allowed her dogs to jump up onto the table where she was sitting and to remain there. I suggested, very politely, that it was not hygenic for the dogs to sit on a table where other customers would be consuming food. The response was verbal abuse, which I found very distressing. I reported the matter to the cafe manager who simply shrugged her shoulders, saying that since she had not seen the dogs sitting on the table she could not speak to the woman concerned and that the verbal abuse I had experienced was a personal matter between myself and the woman concerned. She said that she was not going to do anything about what had happened. Is this an acceptable response from a business that is concerned about food hygiene or one that is concerned for the safety and well being of its customers? I don't think so. I have been a regular customer until now, but I won't be returning.

Had breakfast here and after a look around the excellent farm/good shop on the same site I expected the food in the restaurant/cafe would be good. I was disappointed. It was quick enough, plated up for you from a buffet style servery so you got so many items for a set price but could choose which you had. On the whole they were ok but that's all, just ok. Actually no, the sausages were poor quality - the kind you get served up in a supermarket cafe, from their cheap range. A big shame as the garden centre itself was excellent. This could be a little goldmine if it used better produce and charged accordingly. Oh, and although it was all served up from under a buffet heater thing, it wasn't particularly hot.

Over priced (but fairly tasty) and half toasted Bacon and Brie sandwich (use to be a panini, cut backs?) and another overpriced and underwhelming sandwich. Watched staff barely wipe down two tables, very unhappy looking. Spoke politely to someone saying they were an assistant manager, she wasn't interested. Won't eat there again. Staff member who couldn't be bothered to wipe tables properly was the Manager! Bodes well for food then! AVOID.

We thought we had found a gem in this restaurant and have been coming here every Saturday for many months to have your cooked breakfast, but last Saturday we arrived and found only 4 choices of food on display and two of those only had one item in each black pud and the sausage, we asked for two poached eggs and was told that they were not doing poached eggs and that all other selections would take 10 mins to arrive this was at 10 am.we usually spends a average of £50 per week on plants/pots etc,in the shop, We walked out over your poor service and went to Keydel's instead for breakfast. And won't be coming back. Kind regards Ian.

Horrendously expensive for what you get... £67 for 3 small plates of lasagne and 1 pkt scampi and a child's sausage & fries... Had the service been good ( they wanted to give us the 3 plates of lasagne... then wait 15 mins on the scampi... the look I got when I said ideally we'd like to eat together) the food fresh not pkts of frozen ... it may have warranted the extortionate price. oh and check out the potatoes I was served in the salad ( that supposedly accompanied the lasagne ).. we got a free coffee We won't go back and definitely won't recommend

This is one place not to go if you're having a good day because it will ruin it just like it did mine! When arriving it looked fabulous smiling staff and a lovey atmosphere, After placing our order when went and took a seat to wait for our food. when taking our seats and minding our business we over heard the assistant Manager shouting at her staff and being disappointingly rude this is NOT a way to talk to your staff and the top managers should be very disappointed never will i be returning.

How these people get away with serving this Luke warm semi cooked food I’ll never know especially as there is an award winning restaurant on the same plot! £18 for 2 horrible sandwiches + 2 teas! Disgusting, spoiled our visit completely!

Very disappointing. Buffet type breakfast. Food was barely lukewarm, eggs were inedible - like rubber). Would have taken them back but by then there was a queue. Just wouldn’t go there again.

Ordered 4 takeaway pizza's yesterday. I felt sick shortly after eating and had very bad tummy pains. Which led to vomiting and diarrhoea all night long. When I got up in the monring the 3 other people that ate those pizzas equally have had a bad stomach. Won't be ordering again. £52 for FOOD POISENING!
