Got my order wrong twice when it was only one item, a bacon and cheese burger. Ended up just asking for my money back: useless workers and never even got an apology. Would give 0 if it let me

Never usually any issues, but this time ordered gravy chip but got curry. No biggie but not what I wanted. Got a refund from JustEat no problem tho.

The food was well prepared. Gr8 crunch into the fish. Onion rings out of this world. Bad point check ur order before u leave. Was missing a portion of chips

Food arrived late, and when it arrived, most of the order was missing (and what little arrived was cold). When I phoned the Friary they said that they had now closed and could give me any of my missing order and/or fix my cold order. They said they’ll issue a full refund, but I need to report it via justeat

Over two hours and pending for delivery and 83 attempts to phone. Shambles doesn’t come close.

Since ‘The Chip Yard’ have taken over Dillingers, The Friary is now the go-to. While the food is very tasty, unfortunately the portions seem to be getting smaller with each order. Used to get a mountain of “popping chicken” in a box - now it comes in a small bag, with almost exactly 20 pieces (with some blatantly just bits of fried batter). Experience is let-down by the reduced portions - considering it’s quite pricey. Overall, a satisfying order.

Will never go back to this chippy! Collection time was 6 and went in 5 minutes early - was told wouldn’t be long. For 25 minutes me and mum sat waiting. Heard and saw everyone’s name being called and ones ordered after me left before. Went to ask about my order only for it to be taken from an oven and handed to me. When asked why they didn’t call my name they said ‘we did actually’. They didn’t and when I said so was just looked at with look of disgust! No apology given - staff are awful, food overpriced and portions have gotten smaller. When I was waiting I witnessed them taking one woman’s order wrong and charging her for it and another man returning with his tiny fish and be given ‘scraps’ to make up for it. They both did get apologies though. They have also missed a fish supper out of another order and when I rang to ask for them to leave me a refund they said I could either drive (20 mins) to collect it or just get it another time. Zero customer service skills

Chips, sausage and battered sausages were all over cooked.

Great chippy always busy so if you can order ahead will likely save a wait. Quite expensive but portion sizes are better than most. Good parking and petrol station next to it for any extra bits you might want

Quality was as good as ever, unfortunately we where missing a chip from the order.

Debated whether to post this or not, but there was something hard like grit or a small stone within my chicken kebab last night which I bit down on and it has chipped a molar tooth. Going to have to get it fixed at the dentist as it's sharp and causing sensitivity when drinking anything cold.

I normally order after 5pm on a Fri and food is usually good 90% of the time. I ordered today early and the chips tasted like reheated stale chips. My chicken in the chicken burger was rubbery and kept detaching from the batter. The only time I’ve tasted rubbery chicken was when it was cooked in the microwave.

This has to be thee best chippy in carrickfergus, had a slight issue with my order and it was dealt with fast and food was fantastic, we don’t do many take aways but I would recommend you try the friary!!

Great chippy, one of the best in our local area. Update. I got a carryout last night, and to be honest, it was not great. Fish supper was not great, fish and chips overcooked and was not hot when I got home. It appeared to be ready about 15 mins before the Christmas chip with was threw together and had to wait 25 mjns after my online pickup time. I will not be back.

Ordered food at 19:20 and arrived 2 hours later, chips sogy and cold - ordered onion rings and never came with order. Rang and no one answered, still waiting reply from email.

Best burger ever, awesome food and really early delivery

First time ordering we have just moved. burgers were really good 👍 and chips nice. food wasn't piping hot but we live 2 mile away. maybe would be warmer if driver had just eat thermal bag? but overall very nice food. oh we weren't notified by just eat driver was on route so only by seeing car headlights we new he was there

Christmas chip is very good value, large portion turkey, ham, stuffing, gravy, chips and little sausages. I wish it was on all year round.

Food was amazing, pitty I had to wait nearly an hour to collect it, probably have been quicker to have got it delivered!!

Never allow myself to review unless I've used the place or service at least ten times cause first impressions can be lucky. I'm a very honest fellow had my tenth meal from here today fish n chips with a side of curry and gravy Lots of people would say £10.85 is a rip off for one fish n chips but was an early birthday treat from my bro and I'd say it's money well spent. Could easily feed 3 ppl with one portion which it did cause small stomachs but cracker place I can see why it's an award winner, Staff are always friendly and professional, i like the fresh open atmosphere with available seating, i like that they put out little condiments etc you can grab yourself foods always mwah 🥰 it's hard to find anything to complain about here, Ty for such amazing food and service 🙂

Great food! A little bit of a wait that was worth it. It was a little before 6 on a Friday evening. ;-) Food is freshly prepared and a lot of people use the place which is a good sign to me and the reason for the wait.

I would have given higher review, but the service today is unacceptable. Paid for the extras for my burgers, which I didn't get. Called the shop straight away once I got home. Asked them what they going to about it. They offered to remake it but not willing to delivery. prefered I pick it up myself. I had drive over to pick it up again and gave you the wrong product back. And in return the person who serviced me was very rude. Asked me check my food next time before leaving. I'm a paying customer it's not my responsibility to check had I have got the right order. I'm not going unwrap my burgers in front of other customers and get cold burgers. The feeling I got from the servicer, I was to be blamed... You should had delivered it over instead of me driving over. Poor customer service, if you want to lose customers you are doing a great job.

The worst chicken burger ever!! Loved the friary…. Last time I got a chicken burger it was a breast of chicken…. This time the breast of chicken had clearly been in a road traffic accident with a truck… flat as a pan cake and a teaspoon of mayo! Loads of onion and lettuce though….. perhaps they thought I wanted a healthy lunch rather than the gorgeous big battered chicken breast smothered in mayo chicken burger that I couldn’t get out of my mind … are they in cahoots with slimming world ??😂😂😂😂
