Comfortable, used it for our friend's wake on a Tuesday afternoon - plenty of room

Hadn't been for a few years due to a couple of bad meals. I was pleasantly surprised at the food as I wasn't expecting much. The roast with unlimited extras would feed a horse. Service was good as it was quite busy. A little on the pricey side for what it is.

Beefeater has upped its game. Good swift service, friendly efficient staff. Steaks very good.

Service was alright the wait staff were particularly friendly, but unfortunately everything else was very lacklustre. Table was sticky, the food came out incorrect at first, then some of the items were not great. The halloumi sticks were mediocre, the breaded mushrooms were cold and wet. The mac and cheese admittedly was excellent, however that was masked by how awful the ribs and wings both were. I'd consider going back but only when I'd forgotten how bad this experience was.

Excellent service from Anna . She is always happy , smiling ,efficient and helpful which makes the dining experience so much better. Consistently good food and great service.

food was very good, but the service was the worst have had anywhere a lot down to the fact there wasn't enough staff, long wait for everything, when asked for a dessert menu was actually told I would have to wait while she cleared some tables, unbelievable. management were not really bothered offered a voucher for next visit I had no intention of returning, didn't even offer to take the kids ice creams of the bill. a bad experience that spoiled our evening

Abi was a lovely waitress really accommodated our every need and made the meal even more enjoyable 😊

Great Saturday lunch. Abi and harry the waitress and waiter were so nice and helpful, they really did make our experience feel like we are special.

We had our 25th anniversary meal at the Fountain Beefeater. I had the steak sampler which was sensational and my husband had the fillet steak, again top notch. In fact, all the food was brilliant and served hot. A lovely waitress, Annesha, served us and she was great and made our evening special. The atmosphere was friendly and we will definitely be back. It's such a shame they are soon to be taken over.

Ordered from the budget lunch menu. Food was a big dissapointment. Only one draught beer which was cloudy and unpleasant and was exchanged for larger. Batter on minute piece of fish was full of oil and not edible . Battered mushrooms were full of water.

Easy to find something to eat great good for a good price for everyone

Like all beefeater, the food is perfection, however this specific branch can get very busy.

We visited on a Friday for an evening meal. Only 2 members of staff serving food and drinks including Anna. They were both very busy but made sure that we were looked after. The restaurant was clean. The food was okay - chicken wings lacked seasoning - bread with prawn cocktail was a bit hard but a decent amount of prawns served - Calamari was nice although a little bit greasy - pie, ribs and burger were all ok - the nicest part of the meal was the brownie, which was delicious. Not sure if we would come back but with a 40% off voucher for main meals, it was a reasonable price for an evening out.

Absolutely fantastic experience, the roast was excellent and service was 10/10. Abi was very helpful and attentive, and I will definitely be returning in the future.

We came on 6/8, a few diners in, good food and not too expensive, waitress was rushed off her feet but still managed a smile. Found a little burnt string on my plate and the waitress kindly gave me a discount

Normally go to a different Beefeater that has now shut. Decided to try this one with my two children. Service was extremely slow and having been used to a Beefeater with unlimited breakfast buffet to help yourself, was suprised to meet an "order at the table" style. When a member of one of the two staff did eventually come to take the order, we had to list everything/quantities we wanted on the breakfast plate and wait a further 10-15mins for it to arrive. We were so hungry we ate the lot and by the time we tried to flag down a staff member to order again...we gave up paid and left still hungry. Will not return. Atmosphere felt tense with the few people who came for breakfast looking hungry and irrated with the whole concept.

Lovely meal popped in after shopping,meal was great, lovely staff but the whole place could do with a refurbishment.

Had a lovely family meal yesterday and the service was fantastic. Our server was Anna she is amazing and so good at her job always rushing about and always has time for a smile and a chat you are an asset to the beefeater.

Kitchen closes at 9pm and there is no one who answers the phone it’s a robot what a waste of time to drive

Very good value. I had a good portion of lasagna with a nicely prepared salad. For sweet, I had Apple Betty pie with ice cream, which was very tasty, followed by a coffee. My dad had the same plus a glass of wine, and the two meals were just over £30. The staff were friendly and efficient therefore, we enjoyed the whole experience and will return.

Went their twice while visiting family in London, and would highly recommend it,was good value for the price, will definitely go back when visiting again

Great food & service but very shabby decor and should be much cleaner.

There are 2 tables for 2 at the bottom of the stairs, which are too close to the stairs for other customers and staff to pass and a table for two used to be an intimate thing but not here because your neighbouring table is just 2 feet away. Overall, the food was okay, it was a shock to find 3 Lettuce husks, stalks in the side salad in a bowl just slightly bigger than 2 egg cups ( the duty manager apologised and took 2 drinksniff of our bill for this) . Atmosphere did lack friendliness, seemed quite sterile and punctuated.

Had really nice time there with friend. Both we have had Sunday roast beef, delicious! Highly recommended!

The food was nice. Possibly the most disgusting toilets i have used though. No soap, not sure anyone has ever cleaned the loos and the locks are broken.

I don't see what others complained of this place. It's clean, comfortable, friendly helpful staff. Food is typical beefeater fare but a little expensive.

The food was very nice. There were a lot of options and it was nice how they had the calories for each meal. There are a lot of options for vegans and vegetarians. The service was very nice but it seemed like there were only 2 servers. The place had nice parking. Overall it was very nice.

Went in for a breakfast on Sunday, Waited 10 minutes for how order to be taken, 45 minutes for the food to arrive, was not busy in there, food okay, then 10 minutes to find someone to pay, don’t go in there if you’re in a hurry.

Avoid this place we went today for a a family meal the food was terrible, the pub is in major need of a refurbishment its so dirty and dingey and the service was so bad when the waitress was taking our order she would just disappear and start doing somthing eles leaving us to wait another 10 mins to order. The toilets are disgusting and dirty with taps that don't work and things hanging off the walls and the males toilets are the same with no locks on the doors. Overall was very disappointed and will not be returning. If I could give no stars I would

Place is absolutely rotten, carpet is disgusting with stains and food left allover. Table not cleaned and left sticky with bits of food on it, menu's given had food stuck to them. Just absolutely scruffy disgusting Place to eat, glad it was paid for by my work cos I certainly wouldn't spend my own money to eat in this pigsty

Was not expecting that! Fabulous! Received a birthday free meal through the loyalty card scheme. Invited my friend to lunch! Wow! My vegan burger was amazing ...one of the best I've ever had. My friends mixed grill was truly delicious she said! Steak, gammon, chicken, sausages, eggs, onion rings...beautifully cooked and presented by a chef who obviously loves his job and is proud of what he sends out. Shame to hear he is leaving! BIG loss!

Place was empty but we were asked to move into the bar area as apparently you are not allowed to order lunch starters in the dining part even though 2 families were the only people there ! We moved … Food was awful we had just ordered our drinks when the food came out !! Sure it had just been pre -heated … we got coffee and told they only serve the bar so couldn’t bring it to us ! Place its a joke no wonder it’s empty

The food was excellent but. Very long wait for food, dark atmosphere upstairs, place we were sat the whole table was shaking when anyone walked past due to wooden floor upstairs. Manager was very rude and unprofessional, stamping and banging on everything he walked past. Don't recommend if you looking for a nice place and nice atmosphere.

Lovely meal out at the Beefeater, very cosy. Anna looked after us for the evening, she was very attentive and despite being very busy was very friendly, patient, helpful and welcoming, it makes all the difference. The food was delicious, hot and fresh very tasty. We enjoyed our evening and will come again. We recommend the Beefeater, you will not be disappointed. Unfortunately we were so busy enjoying everything I didnt take photos but will do so next time.

I would give this place no stars if I could. The food was absolutely disgusting. Most of it felt like it wasn’t even freshly cooked. The restaurant itself is very dark and old fashioned. The toilets were not clean. There was poo all over the floor and blood on the toilet seats, I can’t even comprehend the smell. My starter of chicken was bland with no taste. The chicken was also very watery. For the price of this restaurant it feels like a robbery. I’m so utterly disappointed in this place. Will never go back

Great full English breakfast. Nice to get the Walk in Service. Even a Sausage to take home for the dog cant say how impressed with the Service and food. Shall see you soon for a Evening meal many thanks

Went in there for breakfast which I have done many times before. Martin would not give me a table and refused service. He first said youneed a reservation which I said first e I will make one. He then said sorry you won't get a table. He was extremely rude. It was only me and the still refused. Nice how you treat regular customers. If you have reservations which he said all the other people had should not you as a business provide more staff so that you can cope with the amount of people.

February 2024: Thought I'd take the old man here as we used to go together when I was a kid many decades ago and he took his wife back in the day when this establishment was not taken over by Beefeater. It was incredibly upsetting and disappointing for my Grandad and Co to come back here and see how downhill it has become. Everything from the Ambience when you first come in. Literally no atmosphere and booking a table you'd expect someone to greet you to your table at the alloted time. Drink prices are good for spirits but overcharging 2.5 times the amount of red wine which is ridiculous. Tables near the bar area were sticky which shows signs of a dirty establishment. When we finally went to go to our table that was reserved for 8:30pm the table was not prepared in advance. In fact they were still spraying and washing the tables of leftover food! Unless you don't cook please don't say the food here is fantastic. It's not disastrous but the starters are very incomplete and the steaks we had were overcooked on the outside. It was not triple cooked chips but most likely frozen chips out of a bag. The tomato and mushroom was soggy and peppercorn sauce was watery. Grandad complained the Mustard had no oomph and tasted watered down as well. Very odd decor. Has a dark ambience and bless the waitress tried as hard as she could. She was lovely but unfortunately could not tempt us to a loyalty card. It was sad for my Grandad to say he would never come back to the establishment that he took his former wife for dinner dates but is glad to have come back and finalised his curiosity. Have you also considered putting lights outside for people sitting in the outdoor area? I am trying to tempt him back for breakfast because surely... How bad can it go with unlimited brekkie for a tenner? Really? Feel free to ignore this review but the food is alot left to be desired along with an out dated atmosphere.

Sunday family lunch for 6. Food quality on some meals not great. E.g slightly burnt burger. Fillet steak " pre cut " ! Small amount roast potatoes on the Sunday Roast dinners. Service friendly and helpful.

Great atmosphere..busy breakfast time but very pleasant.. speedy ordering service... Vicky & Timmi worked brilliantly , clearing tables .. taking orders replenishing stock in a very busy environment.. A great breakfast had Ladies. Thank you ..& Thanns to Jay Jay for the delicious 😋 food as always.

This pub is very tired. The (men's) toilets are a car crash. But, the staff are great.

Not as good as usual. Steak was a bit undercooked and quite rare even though asked for medium. Appreciate it is quite difficult to cook steak perfectly. Just seemed a bit rushed. Service was a little slow , seems they need more staff. The usual waitress is excellent but rushed off her feet. Finally dessert choice is now very poor. What happened to some of the fruit desserts/sundaes? I ended up having apple pie which is quite fattening and laid on my stomach all night. There is nothing healthy on the dessert menu now.

I had sometime wanting to eat in this place. Well, I ordered a mixed grill.m, and I asked my rump ½. But came well done. They replaced it immediatly, well after it was cooked. My wife's sirloin was Okay, but she complained her wine cup came dirty. I honestly like the concept, and they have a good menu. Our service was attemptive and very busy also.

First impressions after not visiting here for years was the bar furniture needs serious updating, torn and warn out chairs. The leading man who showed us to our table seemed quite abrupt when asked questions about our ordering but perhaps it's his accent and manner. The food was good but the service was very slow, though the girls were very nice when they got round to us, 2 girls to serve such a big pub probably isn't enough.

I have to say the Xmas menu is a disaster, we came a couple of weeks ago and ordered from the Xmas menu the chicken starters well over cooked and dry, the chicken burger again over cooked, the Xmas dinner what can I say cold cold cold your chefs if they are chefs can't even cook frozen vegetables most of the menu comes out of the freezer even the pate so beefeater do everybody a favour and employ Real Chefs not microwave dimwits.

Worst food poisoning ever. Sausages burnt rock hard. Small greasy portions. Poor service, poor waitress overworked.

Had lunch today and had to wait ages...for drinks, for food, for menus, everything. Waitress was rushed off her feet so they need more staff. Food was acceptable although custard was cold. Won't be going back.

Went for a family meal Sat 2 Dec. Table booked for 5.30, wasn't ready had to wait 20 mins. Food when it came eventually was almost cold ,overcooked , or wrong item for others Not enough staff to cope, we were still waiting to get dessert at 8 o/c. Almost 10 by the time we got bill. Many tables around not cleared. Needs a overhaul of management

We go here regularly. Food is good value.Service is great. We always have Abigail serve us. She is very helpful, friendly and polite. She makes our visit so much more enjoyable. Well done!!

Came for lunch today, sadly service incredibly slow. Not the poor waitresses fault as she was on her own trying to cope, and now have upset stomach!! Not impressed!

Had 40% of voucher so decided to come for dinner. Had some chicken and ribs with sides which was tasty. Bill still seemed quite high though!

I have been here many times over the years but yesterday was my last. I had prebooked my table for 5pm and arrived early. I waited at the front where you check in. 3 members of staff passed me but it was after 10 mins that I was actually attended too. We were shown to our table and our order was taken. Our starter took 35 minutes to arrive and the garlic flat bread was under cooked and the other starter looked like a mess on a plate and the breaded mushrooms were over cooked. The mains arrived quicker than the starter but the cod in batter was overcooked and the batter was a dark brown colour and was chewy and not crunchy. We ordered drinks but they didn't arrive at the table either. There was a young girl doing her best to serve but it was impossible for her to do her job efficiently. We were going to order puddings but by now we had had enough and asked her for the bill. I reminded her that we hadn't received the drinks we had ordered so make sure we are not charged for them. At that point she apologised about the drinks as she had forgot them. I told her the food and service was sub standard. The response was " we are all abit stressed today " In the toilet the toilet paper roll was on the floor and not in the dispenser and outside the car park was in total darkness as there were no exterior lights on. Whilst I was outside having a cigarette, a lady slipped on wet leaves as she couldn't see the hazard. Shocking service and sub standard food and I will never go back

OK food but excessive wait times as Beefeater hasn't invested in its staff and thinks 1 server taking orders, distributing food and taking payment is sufficient. A Sunday lunch meal for 4 took 3 hours with items already sold out for the day. Whilst the server was great, having only 1 person on a busy dozen plus tables was not a great experience and I have no intention to return and repeat this experience

Walked past and saw an empty table. Waited to be seated to be told 20 minute wait for a table! As they want our business, we turned and left. Very poor experience.

We had a server named Abi she was very nice and sweet listen to us with what we needed but it seemed as if the manager didn't care about how much pressure he was putting on his serving staff. It was a little upsetting seeing him completely dismiss her points but other then that Abi gave us great service

Food was great. But was let down by sticky floor and tables....

Went for a birthday Sunday roast . Abi was excellent and her customer service was a breath of fresh air. Bought the sharer roast for 2 which was more than enough.

Staff unfriendly, table left with plates for hour and half even though the staff walked past our table lots of times, ordered tea and coffee and was told to collect from the bar ??. Toilets dirty and no toilet roll told manager politely that neither of the ladies had toilet roll , he looked at me as if I had two head and said "right" as if I was pitting him out. When guests arrived, there was not a warm greeting. "Good evening. How may I help you?" They got ," I take it don't you have a reservation" I was shocked at the lack of warmth from staff, and I won't be going back. Staff need training on how to great their guests.

For the price its decent value and the food is okay considering the price. It badly needs painting and new furniture as it looks tired and dirty. We went for an all you can eat breakfast till 11. Couldnt order more hot food as chef had left at 10:45. Continental breakfast wasnt being restocked, no bowls, plates, coffee cups, coffee machine stopped working and no staff to be seen.

Good steak meal and good service. BUT noisy kids running about whilst we were trying to have a quiet meal out. The whole place needs smartening up as it was very dingy and tables and chairs were old and marked. Poor choice of beer 🍺

Very disappointing. Noisy lots of children shouting. They have decided to stop selling cask beer so beer choice very poor. Steak meal was fine and service good. Will not be going back

Went with friends on a Friday evening I think it was short of staff felt rushed and the food was kinda okay but the price was on the expensive side. Atmosphere was too loud ,not good lighting too . Might be good to reorganize the tables and put some different lighting.Just a suggestion.

Food was nice, maybe a little overdone but expected this much as it was peak time however just had to say how amazing our waitress Anna was. It's our second time visiting and our second time being served by Anna. I've never seen anyone working that hard and still serving with a smile. She really is a credit to you guys at beef eater. We drive from Islington to eat at your place we like to food and love the service!

Tables must be cleaned with glue so sticky every tabe was full of glasses I tried to order a mix grill at 8 o'clock only to be told no we have stopped doing them absolutely terrible
