Amazing food and service as usual.

We were in the lounge on Sat 25th Jan, there was a spare table which had a sign saying reserved from 3.45pm, however it was now 4.45, clearly this party had not turned up. Two members of staff were sat at the next table and we asked them if we could use the table. The first one said "I'm not on duty" !!!!! ( Lovely) second one said "it's fine you can use it." We did, only to be removed from the table at 5.45 as the party had turned up! 2 HOURS LATE. Not to make a scene we moved. I later asked why we were removed when these people were 2 hours late!!!!!! " They're regulars". We were told. What a disgusting way to treat people. I emailed the Fort for some feedback.......... still waiting. Won't be back.

In lounge for drinks, busy. Seating available high tables and seats. Having health problems so not comfortable. Glasses very slow for collection as usual. Lovely place but not for us unfortunately.

Absolutely gutted tonight! We always book here for my daughter’s birthday and every year had great food great service and great drinks! Well not tonight! Booked a table for 8 of us for 4.30 to then get called at 4.15 asking why we haven’t showed up for might booking and if we don’t arrive soon table will be cancelled!!! After explaining we booked for 4.30 not 4! They said sorry it must be their mistake!! Yea mistaken1 of many this evening! We arrive to where my daughter orders her favourite cocktail Mojito..well what arrived looked nothing like a cocktail it was a drink in a glass with a few mint leaves shoved in it! And they ask nearly £10!! Joke!!! Nothing like they used to do! We order our food! Streak pie for me and hubby, full size portion…well no I’m sorry I’d hate to see what your small size was like! Definitely not worth nearly £16!! Pastry wasn’t flaky it’s was like suet 😩. Steak was lovely and the chips but very scarce on chips and carrots 🙈. I’m sorry all in all it was a horrible experience and I for one won’t be back as not worth the money or my time 🙈. I’ve had way better food elsewhere and better potions for less money! Oh and definitely not child friendly like they used to be! It’s okay to have adults shouting and screaming at football though and can’t even get thru the main bar for them 🙈.

Had our annual family Christmas meal here last weekend. Was super busy, but staff did a great job. Food was good.

The majority of the dishes I have eaten here are great. You get a decent plate full and very tasty. Steak pie and lasagne are stand out dishes. For fish lovers, the smoked haddock morny is a must.

We only visited this place as part of my sons birthday pub crawl. I food it cosy and staff were friendly.

Well done to Mike and all the staff at the Fort. 3 of us came here for Sunday lunch. Very friendly welcome. We had the small steak pie,the fajitas, and the small fish'n chips. The food was excellent, and everyone was full. Good prices. Recommend!!

We had an excellent meal here. We both had steak pie. We were advised by our friends that you can ask for a half steak pie, as a full one is rather large. My wife thought it was the best steak pie she had ever eaten, and I would concur with that. The gravy was just as good, and there was nothing wrong with the accompanying vegetables. Also, having just the half piece was just right for us.

Food way below average, my wife left most of her fish dish. Would not recommend for meals.Staff attentive.Very noisy doors..get them oiled!

Stayed in one of the rooms across the road. Totally fine for 1 night. Breakfast was good. Was on a golf trip so suited our needs. Nothing fancy.

Absolute disasterous visit on wednesday evening! Obvious staff shortage, courses late, food lukewarm, lack of proper cutlery, coffee served alongside starter, very disapointing!

Service and customer service lets the place down! The food is good, however don't be surprised if your waiting for a while. Took about 2/3 drinks before food came, I asked a guy for a drink after the meal but didn't bring anything. And then had to go to the bar instead, and was left waiting for service there too as the young lad couldn't serve as he was under 18 and annother guy who eventually served me, was very nippy about my id and asked me for other cards to match like my credit card and other cards to match it 🤣 I recommend that they should have more cocktails as there was only 5. Thought they'd have a few more than this.

Attended for a friend's special birthday celebrations. Beer Garden was lovely but freezing!! Why take away heaters- it is Scotland!!!

Lots of customers in at the same time as us, which meant the servers were stretched thin, and this caused a lot of waiting. Staff were friendly, but we could tell they were rushed. Once we got our food ordered, it took them an expected amount of time to prepare it. The food was great, and everyone in our party had no complaints, both adults and children. I had the Mac & Cheese with Curly Fries & Onion Rings, which was great and roasting in temperature. They have a moderate drinks menu, with everything from beer to cocktails to soft drinks. Fizzy drinks are canned, which you pour into a provided glass with ice and a lemon slice. It is great to see such a business booming with customers and its to be expected by the quality of the food and the prices of it. Another staff member when they're this busy would help them a lot.

Went for my friend’s 60th just an afternoon meal with just 4 of us. We have been before and it has been good but yesterday it was terrible service!! There were other tables of parties for birthday celebrations and everyone else was overlooked unfortunately. We were greeted as usual by the lovely older lady and seated but after that a terrible wait which spoiled the experience. They couldn’t even pick up our tab with money and tip which sat on table and we had to ask twice then eventually had to go up and pay. We waited at least 50-60 minutes to get our food. This was not a great eating experience for us and food was under par aswell think we’ll be looking to eat elsewhere for a while.

The town has many bars and restaurants which are all fantastic. The Fort is highly recommended if you are in the area. The food is fresh, well priced and I love the idea of choosing small or large portions for all the items on the menu. This is a great idea, I don't know why other restaurants don't do the same. We were lucky enough to visit when there was live music on, and it added to a delightful visit. Check it out if you are in The Ferry.

Met up with friends for a Bar Lunch. Great choice on offer but we all went for half portions and still required a doggy bag. One course and a soft drink with our meal quite enough.

Had an absolute blast here, went for dinner and drinks and enjoyed every minute. Stayed for 3+ hours with a full table and was very satisfied with the evening. I ate the Fort Burger with chips for £15.95 and give it a 9/10. I’ll be back.

We had a family meal out and chose the Fort. The food was lovely, particularly the Fajitas and cheesecake. All the staff were extremely friendly and the service was quick.

Food and service was great! Unfortunately we were stuck at a table which was surrounded by a huge crowd of very loud drunk men watching golf on the tv and they kept putting their empty glasses on our table while we were eating

I ordered the lazania and when it came it was burnt down one side. I did get a new one but by the time it came everyone else at the table was halfway through their meal

Been here a few times with partner and then lunch with daughter. Staff are so friendly and the guy on the bar seems ro be q long standing bar man which makes it quite familiar. The bar area is small but there's another area that is lovely. Outside are has tables and heaters, there is also quite a good roof that can be rolled on in bad weather and I've been in all areas. All lovely decorated and always busy. Cannot fault the place. Food has always been good on the 5 times I've visited and ate a range of foods. Can get parking outside and it has a smokers bit

Pretty bad. Not enough staff. Soggy like warm pale chips and scampi. Cold steak pie. The chilli was ok. Full scampi meal isn't cheap either now. Drinks were ok. Must do better!

Called in at 1600 on a Monday after a game of golf, had the soup, and 4bean chilli (1/2 portion), excellent on both counts, soup was a meal in itself so the 1/2 portion main was ample. Car park across the road as well.

Been here twice now, has become a favourite of mine! Food is always good and tastes delicious, not had a single issue with any dish I've ordered. Service is always splendid too, really friendly and on time.

Excellent. I requested a table for 6 for lunch at the last minute, the Fort went above and beyond and moved a few tables around to accommodate us. Good menu with something for everyone: everything from soup, baked potatoes, burgers, to a full blown lunch and all proper sized helpings. Staff were friendly and helpful. Prices are not ridiculous. We all agreed we had had a very positive experience. We’ll be back again soon.

Best steak pie in Broughty Ferry or Dundee 👍

Nice meal, had the Mongolian beef and it was tasty. Decent vegetarian and gluten free options, staff were attentive. Only minor issue was it was very busy so quite loud, but other than that, great stuff.

A lovely bistro style hotel bar, well decorated and warm. Staff were very pleasant and helpful, although service was a bit disjointed, the food was very tasty with all 6 of us happy with our meals. The chicken goujons were a particular delight, and the Mongolian beef curry was fairly special. No pictures taken as it was a fairly formal meal. Prices were very reasonable and will make my way back there sometime soon.

Started great night, young host with glasses (apologies didn't catch name and shame he wasn't there all night) superb food and good night was being had with old friends. End of night soured by Eddie munster lookalike who was barking orders about table being required back every 5 mins. I know its a busy time of year but there's ways and means to speak to customers. Said host Might just need a calming down a bit. Shame, probably will be back but did spoil the end of our night!!

I love going to the fort when visiting family in Dundee my auntie and uncle always treat me to dinner here I've not once had a bad meal, the food is always fresh and delicious,lovely friendly welcoming staff,yummy cocktails.look forward to my next time.

Was meeting up with school friends had never been in before so went into the restaurant bit which i thought was all the same sat down lady said you cant sit there its only for food which I thought was a bit abrupt,I decided to have my lunch before the rest came ordered Baked potato with chilli didn't wait long was really enjoying it until I realised i had a rotten bit of potato in my mouth it was horrible made me feel sick so told the waitress she offered me another one which I didn’t want as it had put me off there was no apology i was told id get something off the price when it came to pay, I paid half price I wouldn’t have minded that but there was no apology anybody putting that on a plate and cutting the middle would have seen that it was rotten so not a place id want to eat in again

First time there for a meal. Inside is modern & very nice, staff were very helpful. The 4 of us all finished our meals & were happy with the portions Will definitely go back again.

Fathers day treat, my wife and i both had carvery meals ,i had roast beef she had lamb. The meat in both meals was tough stringy hard to cut and even harder to eat the gravy tasteless. What a disappointment for both of us.
