Parlour Cafe in Dundee City

Ha sido un habitual aquí desde que abrió. Lamentablemente ha ido cuesta abajo a lo grande. Me tomé un desayuno y un café. El café servido luego informó al cocinero que había mordido y no debería tardar mucho. 20 minutos de espera antes de que el cocinero apareciera agarrando una bolsa Lidl con suministros. Finalmente se sirvió un rollo de tocino graso (café ahora terminado) después de una espera de 30 minutos. Tristemente siento que este lugar ha perdido el rumbo. ¡La comida es claramente promedio e injusta para esperar que el personal del sábado explique a los clientes que el cocinero no está en la cocina! No se apresurará a regresar, especialmente cuando tenga la elección de lugares en la carretera de Perth.

French music creates a magical vibe and a cozy atmosphere while you enjoy your morning cup of coffee. It's a very pleasant staff.

This was my first visit and I will definitely be returning when I am ever back in Dundee. Staff were friendly and welcoming and the coffee was delicious. I didn’t have any food this visit but look forward to tasting what’s on offer on my next visit.

This is a great wee cafe I am only just discovering it. It was busy and had goid music and a good vibe. Will be back

The quality of the food Was ok but the service was terrible. Three of us were there for a quick lunch decided to sit on the table but the staff posted a poster in the window saying that take away Orders Cannot be eat in.

Lovely home made food, reasonably priced. Staff very friendly, relaxed atmosphere, service wasn’t fast but that was fine for a leisurely Saturday.

Terrible service, unresponsive and uncoordinated staff. There were empty tables and not many customers but waiting time was too long.

We had been wandering the west end of Dundee trying to find some healthy and delicious vegetarian food. We stumbled across the Parlour cafe and were delighted to have done so. It’s a small, cosy and friendly place where we found the service exemplary and the food just what we needed. I enjoyed a freshly-made slice of tortilla with a tasty salad while my husband found his halloumi and aubergine baguette (also with salad) delicious. Just as importantly, the pot of tea for one was enough to serve 4 mugs had I been thirsty enough. Recommended.

Nice small cafe serving a range of fresh salads and vegan options. Limited seating and can be busy at times. Nice range of cakes.

Lovely latte, nice and hot and a lovely, big mug. Cakes all looked scrumptious, I had chocolate hazelnut torte, it was amazing. Also, not at all expensive! Highly recommend this place

Never had any food this time, I have previously and it is great, the coffee was lovely too.

I came for breakfast and ordered a toastie and an ice latte. The staff notified me that the toastie would be a few minutes late and offered me another coffee whilst I waited which was great. The good and particularly the coffee were delicious!

A good place for breakfast / lunch can be busy at times due to its popularity. Nice selection of salads, sandwiches. Worth a visit.

I used to meet friends for lunch here in the 90s and it was always good. I was in for coffee and cake today and the lunchtime choices look really tempting. Now that I am back in Dundee, I will be here regularly again. I was so pleased to find it still flourishing.

You really can’t beat it, I can’t recall how many times I’ve been in just to eat the vegan homemade roll. They come with salads too which are always great. They occasionally have one vegan cake option on the go. I personally feel parlour makes the best chai in Dundee (from a barista!)

Thursday nights @Parlourcafe. Freshest of food, amazing flavours, an absolute treat. Staff couldn't be more welcoming. Highly recommend.

Friendly staff, we left the decision to them to chose a cake for us as we were indecisive and awkward. Coffe was great and the cake was great.

Always excellent food, particular fan of their tortilla at lunch with 2 salads on the side. Eat out and feel you are still eating healthy. Delicious too

We had the meze and a couple of glasses of wine. The food was beautiful; fresh and tasty. The service was excellent too. Can't wait to go back and also to visit Cambo Gardens.

First and last as time there. It was very busy when 4 of us went in for a coffee we were given paper cups (no issue there) 3 of the party were sitting whilst I queued. Sitting drinking our coffee, which was pretty good, when our server very rudely said 'We'll let you off this time, but the price for sit is more than takeaway '. Now, at no time was I asked if we were sit in or takeaway (3/4 of our part were at a table in plain view of the counter) nor were there any prices displayed to let me know what price I should be paying. Had they come over and said sorry didn't know you were sitting in and the wrong price was charged I would have happily paid the difference. Another wee thing to note is the food is left uncovered and was being talked and coughed over. So sorry, hard pass here!

This place has the best coffee in the area! I'm a regular for a Mocha because it's delicious and at a competitive price!

Great place. Genuinely the best cake and coffee in all of Dundee and the ferry. I’ve been loads and it’s always lovely. I’ve tried the sandwiches once and they were great as well. Definitely recommend.

Disappointed - heard that the place was great for fresh food and it looked amazing. The choices pictured online made it look like there were vegan options - which were sadly almost completely absent upon arrival. Staff and atmosphere are great, however.

Disappointing, brunch menu is a copy paste from every brunch menu nothing to write home about. Vegan options being limited to requesting porridge with water or plant based milk or a possible processed "Veggie breakfast" staff were very friendly and love the atmosphere your brunch menu let's you down.

Had the poached eggs hollandaise, with black pudding, on toasted sourdough bread and it was excellent. Best brunch I have had for quite some time.

The latte coffee was terrible. It was burny brown hot water with air bubbles on top. However, it’s a very quaint space and although the bowls of food looked amazing I cannot truly comment because I didn’t eat anything. ,

Ate here for the first time today and was far from disappointed. Thoroughly enjoyed every bit of food I ordered. For me this was the best sandwich in Dundee 10/10. Looking forward to eating here again.

Got a flat white, cappuccino, and mocha takeaway. The drinks were well made, but their coffee is a very dark roast. Staff was nice though. If you like Starbucks, you'll probably like this.

Nice place, nice people. Limited menu, all vegan, but the quality of the food is very good. Good coffee and cakes too. This place has had its ups and downs over the years, but the current staff have it right back on track.

Wonderful wee place! Staff are super friendly and accommodating, had a lovely chat with one of the waitresses when my food was served. I had the biscoff bun (which was scrumptious) and a pot of tea. So many good cakes to choose from, and all a generous size! My friend had the falafel wrap, again a generous portion size and she said it was delicious. A great variety of wraps, sausage rolls, tortillas, soups, cakes and pastries to choose from. One of my new favourite places! It can be quite busy here so try and time your arrival right, but you shouldn't have to wait more than 5 minutes for a table.

Apart from being difficult to find as there wasn't a sign on or above the door, the food was actually lovely, quiet little place to have a chat, read a book that sort. Overall nice, quiet place for a bit of lunch.

We occasionally go here for lunch. All the soups, salads and sandwiches we have had here have been varied and tasty. You order at a counter, which can take a while at certain times as they clearly supply many customers with takeaways. Not a bad advertisement!

I work nearby, so frequently visit Parlour for both take away lunches and sitting in for breakfast or lunch. The food is of a consistently high standard, and they always offer a great selection and variety, which is always fresh. My standard lunch is the 'tortilla and 2 salads' for £5. The Italian bread salad is addictive, but they're all delicious. Their cinnamon rolls are amazing for breakfast too.

I’ve had take-away food from this café frequently thanks to the convenient location and unique selection of food. Their egg custard tart was a favourite. However, I started to notice several negative aspects of this café as mentioned following, and began to doubt the quality of service at some point. Perhaps I go there at their most busy times, but I found staff looks stressed serving customers, and this gave me an impression that they’re not treating us as respectable customers. I also noticed coffee tastes different depending on who makes it. This made me wonder whether they have any staff training? New staff seem unfamiliar with the food they serve. Related to this point, the price of food also differs depending on who charges, even if I order the same thing. Probably most critical aspect as a places serving food, I’m pretty sure they sell left-over sandwiches/beagles/sweets from the previous day at the same price. I’m curious what the appropriate legal procedure is for left-over food? Once I noticed this, since they are left open in the chiller during the day, I definitely tried to avoid choosing sandwiches with cheese for my health. After these observations, I’ve decided not to go back. I should have realised earlier. Mainly thanks to the convenient location, this place is still popular. However, they will be easily beaten by potential rivals unless they realise their problems in order to improve their quality.

Really like this little cafe and its range of options (I'm veggie) - soups and salads are always tasty and toasties/paninis vary in terms of choice but taste great. Have recommended people that don't live in Dundee to go there when visiting and they have always had a positive experience.

I have visited the Parlour Cafe a few times now and can't stop thinking about their coffee, salad boxes or Meze plate. They have a good selection of vegan options and a lovely atmosphere.

Very good food, especially the soup! Friendly staff. A little cramped if your group is more than 3 people.

Excellent place for lunch all with local produce. Very varied menu with interesting dishes of the day. No reservation taken so you may have to wait a little if busy. Several very good vegetarian options. Great value. Will certainly come back when we can.

Everything here is delicious - from the lattes to the salads to the chocolate cakes.. Wow! They also run the cafe at Cambo Gardens in Fife with the same amazing food.

I had the vegan beetroot hummus wrap & salad today & it was excellent. The quality of the food stands out and the venue is very cool too.

Found the sandwiches good - got a chicken/basil/pepper. Quality was good and bread was fresh. Easy spot for a quick lunch if you’re in town.

My daughter and I, both vegan, had a very enjoyable lunch in The Parlour on Friday (16 th). Very busy and we understand why. Highly recommend. We will be back!

Cosy space, good coffee, nice food. Parlour is a good place if on your own or in a small group of up to three people. Heavy on the carbs (like most places, sadly).

AMAZING - JUST BRILLIANT. There's no sign above the door so walk past and you'll miss it, it's grungy with wobbly tables and only a few seats. It won't be everyone's cup of tea, but does THE best brunch on the planet - full stop. It's always busy but relaxed. The owners/staff are just brilliant and friendly. It's not dog friendly but I'll let them off because thje food is so good. A must try if you're ever in Dundee.

A great cafe even if it's hard to find Parlour offers great coffee and a nice little space to drink it with friends. The food on offer is always diverse and stuff that you will struggle to find elsewhere. The outside has no real clues that it's called Parlour so make sure that you know where it is before you go.

I visited today and found the organisation and service to be poor. I was eating in but had to wait in a long queue with all the people buying food to take away. The menus seemed to be hand written and not the easiest to read. I also couldn't see all the food options available to me as there were so many people crowded round the counter waiting on their takeaway food. Also, they served someone else that was sitting in before me even though I had arrived ten minutes earlier. It was not a nice experience at all and I ended up just ordering a coffee and no food and instead went to Greggs for a sandwich.

Abre a las 8 am, lo cual es genial si necesita algo antes de hacer el wirking. El café le gana a la cadena de tiendas de café. El personal es servicial. El desayuno era un buen lugar para sentarse. Comí algo de comida vegetariana realmente buena el día anterior en un evento laboral en el que estuve y descubrí más tarde que había venido de Parlor. ¡La máxima puntuación!

I didn’t have the chance to try the coffee but the black velvet cake was delicious! Everybody was friendly and the food looked amazing too.

Some of the best vegan food I've tasted. I've eaten at most of the vegan places in Edinburgh where i live and this was better!!

Tenía una maravillosa tortilla de camote y queso de cabra que puedo recomendar, llena y sabrosa, con un par de ensaladas, una coliflor y la otra basada en patatas. Todo fue perfecto. Mi amigo tenía un sandwich abierto tostado, que también se veía genial. Toda la comida sabrosa era muy tentadora en una especie de manera sana y rústica. Los pasteles también se veían geniales. La única decepción fue el capuccino que carecía de la oomph que esperaba dada la calidad de la comida. Los precios son muy razonables, incluso más si se lo llevan. De seguro regresará.

Muy a menudo ve aquí como lo bueno es escrupuloso. Todo recién hecho en el local. De nuevo otro sabor de delicias con tortilla de camote con queso de cabra lo atraviesa. Servido con un cuscús igualmente delicioso y ensalada de garbanzos. Guau, las papilas gustativas estaban muy felices. Mi marido optó por huevos revueltos con tocino y crujiente pan de masa agria.

This has for a long time been one of the best places in Dundee for the freshest of food. Small and sometimes crowded but worth it.

Used to love eating here but recently it's gotten to gentrified and lost its original charm. The food is exceptional but the space inside does limit the comfort of eating here, getting a takeout from here would be much more ideal if you want to enjoy the food in comfort

La comida no es excelente Las ensaladas y las opciones veganas son suficientes para que renuncie a la vida carnívora (casi) y el café es excelente. Desayuno o almuerzo, esta es la mejor apuesta en Dundee para una reunión informal con amigos o una reunión de negocios informal.
