We were very pleased to relax with good food and attentive service in pleasant surroundings.

Food was very good but slow to arrive especially given place was not full. Drinks slow too. If you have time it is worth the visit

Dog friendly with treats Quiet in Monday evening but we thoroughly enjoyed it.

Disappointed that the linguine and caramel ice cream were not available. My mum and I don't eat meat but we do eat fish this limited our choices when ordering. The mushroom burger I had was tasty but the meal was tepid. I have always like going to the foresters but this wasn't my best experience especially as it was a birthday treat for mum.

Dog-friendly dining area inside as well as in the pub garden. Friendly service. We felt very welcome. Access to Velmead Woods for a dog-walk pre and post dinner. Perfect spot.

Although the young staff were lovely and polite, service was slow. They didn’t have 3 of the dishes we ordered (3 of the starters for a party of 4) but the food we did get was good.

Amazing Food. I would come back just for the calamari. Great value for money with their 2 course deal.

Unfortunately the soup was way too salty and the service was very slow despite not being that busy when we were ready to leave it took 15 mins to get attention.

The staff were pleasant & polite however service was slow, inattentive, staff would walk past our table with empty glasses and plates. We had to wait a while for our food and with food choices on the menu unavailable was a little disappointing especially as we dined for midday. Unfortunately won’t be rushing back for food.

My wife and I ate here and we chose from the fixed price menu. We shared a starter, had the burger each and shared a pudding. The food was plentiful and very good. We had a drink each and the bill was £55 with their added tip. We would eat there again👍

where to begin....booked for 2pm, drinks order taken 2.15ish, advised at least 6 dishes not available! placed order about 2.30, updated problem in kitchen no idea when food would be served! 3.pmish issued still no food, offered more drinks on the house 3.30ish still no update , we asked for some bread as we had now been waiting some time advised waitress if food did not appear by 4pm we would be leaving starters finally arrived about 3.45, asked how long mains would be now, advised "they have started cooking them" 4.30ish mains begin to arrive, 2 burgers, not quite as described but were okay 2 prawn & crab linguine, my husband hunted for prawns only to discover 1, and some shrimps, daughter was luckier she found 2! asked how many prawns should be in the linguine, told 6! but they had now run out of prawns, they did bring some shrimps, not quite they were expecting still waiting for 2 pies , one arrived, but we were told "no no you cant have the other one !" assume it was dropped, who knows another main was ordered this came quite quickly? and was okay we were offered various reductions, no charge for starters, 50% off, then I am not going to charge you anything! we were told it was a new menu, I think it was the same as the one i looked at when I booked a few weeks before...new chef!! so just after 5pm we left, 3 hours after we had arrived, we paid nothing, the food was okay, the worst bit was they were seating people, who had no idea of the problems, although we did over hear a waitress telling someone they were only serving burgers, but she wasn't having that This was a family outing for my husbands birthday, I'm sure we may laugh about this later, but one thing is for sure we WILL NOT BE RETURNING !!!

Only had chips available for all meals...we were not told so very disappointing...was not charged for the meal that had unexpected chips. Veg was roasted carrots and veg...nothing green on the plate which would have been nice as pie, chips and veg all the same colour. Red wine jus was really really salty. The only positive about this place was the staff, they were outstanding but poor food so won't be returning

We had the carvery The meat was lovely, I was very disappointed with the vegetable selection having no greens except cabbage and the veg also not being very warm. The guy serving on the meat was an absolute delight very friendly and helpful.

The food was really good,great service and good selection of beers. Although half the menu was unavailable and there was a long wait for the food to arrive. They kept us informed though. The car parking is pretty bad at busy times. Nice that its dog friendly, but the dogs are far too noisy barking all the time which ruins the atmosphere.

Superb Sunday roast after a long walk in the surrounding woodland. Can't fault it. Exceptionally dog friendly, but book to guarantee a table.

A lovely way to celebrate my birthday. Delicious food and great service

We came in for a late meal last night (Thursday) and was greeted and served throughout by a man in a white shirt (I think his name was Jack) He was brilliant. Very attentive and nothing was too much trouble. He’s a real credit to your team!

We have eaten at the foresters many times and the food is usually fairly good. The last visit was disappointing as we booked because they has a Monday to Friday menu offer which was really good value. When we arrived the waiter told us it's a Friday and they were busy so the manager had said they wouldn't honour the deal. We were hungry so said we would order anyway. I ordered the gluten free fish and chips which I had there many times before. It arrived and was a third smaller that the last times. So not only did they not honour ther own advertised meal deal they then reduced my meal by a third. Overall just frustrating. We probably would think twice about going back.. Its a shame as its our closest pub and up until this visit was our pub restaurant of choice.

Very Disappointed with our carvery experience. Was seated at 3.30 and the offerings were luke warm and sparce including the gravy. We spent £100 for two people with drinks and felt the availability should have been there and hot until 4pm finish. Shame as we do have a lot of our work lunches with you and the food has always been of a high standard.

The food was lovely, the waitress a little too interested in themselves. Honestly, your opinion of my kids responding, or not responding to you should not be shared. It wasn’t rude, it was due to a neuro divergence.

Our first time trying this local pub. It didn't disappoint. The atmosphere is lively with loads of space outside if you have fury friend. The staff were super friendly and the meal delicious. I can happily say it was the best fish and chips I've had in the UK. Highly recommended!

Starter took 50 mins to arrive and was inedible.rushed and burnt . Main meal arrived after 1hr 20 mins and was appalling. Left without paying. Staff were great though, couldn’t be more apologetic. Never had this in any restaurant EVER.

We hosted our engagement party yesterday in their tent and had the most amazing day, the two bar men were amazing super friendly and all of our guests loved them! Also thank you to Paul who had been great at responding to any requests from us, everyone said what a great venue it was and I highly recommend for anyone considering booking a function! Thanks again you made our day and night.

Best roast I’ve had in the UK since moving to London from NZ 2 years ago. Best Yorkshire pudding and at such a reasonable price as well. The staff were lovely but left you alone to enjoy your meal which I like. Highly recommend to anyone passing through.

Really enjoyable Sunday lunch. A carvery that is well cooked and well presented. The Foresters is one of our favourite places to stop for lunch after walking the dog on a Sunday.

The staff were sooo friendly and very attentive. The food was DIVINE. It was quiet for a saturday night which we found odd as the pub is so nice, so cosy and excellent food both times we have been but it was still a lovely atmosphere (: the potato skins sharing starter was unreal and I had the ribs which were cooked perfectly and fell off the bone. All 4 of us had different meals and all 4 were perfect. We will be back!

I chose the bbq ribs, which were ok if a tad bland. The skin on fries were tasty. Despite the encouraging welcome, the service was lacking in attention. No-one asked how my meal was and I waited 20 minutes to ask about dessert. The pub was not busy but the staff managed to fill the time by talking to each other rather than attending to customers. Yet another disappointing experience that did not live up to the marketing hype.

I hadn't been to the Foresters in years, but my Son In Law has a birthday lunch there one Sunday. Nearly all (8) of us had the carvery, which was certainly the best roast dinner I've eaten in a pub (most are a disappointment in my view, but this was excellent). The rest of the menu looked good too, so we're going back to sample that soon!

We had a lovely meal at the Foresters - Louise made our visit special as we celebrated a 50th birthday celebration! The food was great and the staff were attentive professional and lovely - highly recommend!

Lovely catch up with a friend in a lovely atmosphere with really lovely staff. As a vegetarian, did feel the menu lacked imagination, but the burger I had was tasty and the naughty dessert was divine.

Booked a table for 3 , for my wife's birthday. All staff were friendly and polite, the service and food were excellent. Will definitely go back. Highly recommended.

Sunday Lunch was excellent plus service was outstanding. Parking can be difficult when busy but this was a minor detail.

Peta, my wife and I, look forward to our meals out at the Foresters. It’s a special place to us not just for the delicious food but the fab staff (great team) and the pub itself with superb atmosphere. Yesterday it was packed in doors and out. No surprise. We married in early July and had the pleasure of holding our Wedding Reception at the Foresters afterwards with both close family and friends, a little over six weeks ago. Returning this last Sunday was a real treat and their Sunday Roast didn't disappoint. We head off for our main Honeymoon in late September but before we go our next visit to the Foresters is already booked. See you all in early October and thank you Louise and team as always for a really enjoyable visit yesterday.

Great roast dinner. Food was tasty and much fresher than other carveries we've been to as it was constantly being refreshed. There were also plenty of veggie options with a great tasting nut roast. Will definitely be back!

We celebrated my Dad’s 60th Birthday at The Foresters, we had use of the lovely outdoor marquee where we were able to put up decorations - although it didn’t need much as there are already cute flowers dotted around! And we were able to move the tables to work with what we wanted for the night. We hired a band (recommended by Louise and they were amazing) we also had use of speakers where we put on music that we wanted before and after the band. Food was fantastic we went for a hot buffet. Overall the night was just amazing, we all had the best time! Louise and the team were truly brilliant, I 100% recommend! Thank you so much!

Been coming here for 3 years and sadly this last time, a special occasion, was ruined by the table we booked not being honoured. The front of house female was nothing short of rude. Of the 2 table options we were offered, a make shift put together 2 heights of table (for a special occasion) just shoved together or all together but next to the men's toilet......we opted for the nicer table but sat next to the toilet. Food as always was fab but sadly we will never go back, completely ruined our weekend tbh, flown over from Spain for it too.

It's potentially the best Sunday roast my fiancée and I have ever had in England. The staff were absolutely lovely and catered to our every need. The place was filled with welcoming locals, some with happy children and some with friendly dogs. We had a lovely lunch and would highly recommend a visit.

Amazing ribs. Some of the best I've ever tried. So tender and a great sauce. Good fries and coleslaw to go with it. Great menu. Something for everyone. Tried some of their small plates on my most recent visit. Superb presentation. The goats cheese and pear salad is also really good. They care so much about their food here. Highly recommend

We were treated to a fabulous carvery, menu choices also available. Louise was a delight and really attentive from booking, serving and generally so lovely and helpful.

What amazing food. Quick service. The ABK hell beer was amazing recommended by Louise. The staff was so friendly everyone was smiling.

Enjoyable meal and a fair price. My only slight downsides were that I would have liked to see more variety in terms of the beer and cider options and the side veg didn’t look or taste fresh. Besides that it was very good.

Saturday lunchtime. Excellent meet and greet. Dog friendly table reserved in advance. Staff really friendly, welcoming and very knowledgeable around the food and drinks menus. Food really good. Brought our friends, they love it and come to ours 4 times a year and we always take them to The Foresters.

Nice location and atmosphere inside. Although tasty, the food is very overpriced and not good value for money. £20 for a burger and chips is 40% too much. Although nice, the portion of fries was child like. With a 10% tip, this was a £42 one course meal for two with tap water. Not good value for money. One to avoid for us.

Lovely location, outdoor seating right in the woodlands. Service was ok, however had to ask for things twice on multiple occations (such as water and mayonaise). Food was lovely. Moved inside once the mosquitos started to come out. Lovely inside as well

We came here for a Sunday late lunch with our 2 dogs and sat outside. We had delicious food served quickly with professional and friendly staff. It's reasonably priced and is set in the woods, can't find a single bad thing to say about this place.

My wife and I hired the outdoor area for day 2 of our wedding and the foresters and the staff went above and beyond to make it special. The food and staff were amazing. We love the foresters.

My food was very tasty and the presentation was good however the tender stem broccoli definitely wasn’t! My friends beef and Stilton pie was missing the taste of Stilton and sticky toffee pudding a bit bland. Waitstaff were very pleasant but rushed. Atmosphere let down with screaming babies and toddlers. Not their fault but it does affect your enjoyment.

My wife and I had a lovely early evening meal with our dog Ralph. We were welcomed and well looked after in a very relaxed way by young friendly staff who clearly enjoy working with each other. The food is excellent and the battered fish is the best. I also recommend the best bitter:-))

It's all great, staff are helpful and friendly

This is my restaurant of choice in the local area and I have a few to choose from! My most recent meal was fish and chips with a side of onion rings. The batter was crispy, the fish flaked beautifully and the fries and onions rings are really great. There are normally 3 cask ales on tap plus a range other beer, lager and cider. There's also a large outdoor area and plenty of parking.

Took my gluten free, ASD son and in-laws for lunch. Staff were great. Brilliant allergy highlight menu. Prompt service. Good time had by all. Thank you

What a lovely place. I've been trying to eat here a while - make sure on a Sunday you book a week ahead! We sat outside in the garden which was lovely as the sun was out for once. The food was fantastic - especially the ribs which were out of this world! They have a greats kids menu too. The staff were great - we will be back soon

Lovely place situated with a beautiful forrest background. Great atmosphere, especially allowing dogs in the bar area. Unfortunately I'm only giving them 3 stars for the food mainly due to the lack of vegan options. I was looking forward to a veggie burger like most places would do but their only option was a mushroom in between 2 buns? 😆 If your like me not keen on mushrooms then this definitely wasn't a good option as a vegen.
