We booked for an Ibiza themed night on Sunday 25th August. Will definitely be returning ! Great atmosphere, great home cooked food and great hospitality from all staff. My wife particularly enjoyed the cocktails Well done guys, keep up the good work!

Hadleigh little gem, staff, food all excellent.

Cosy little place, bigger than it looks from the outside. Had a lovely slice of cake and a 1/2 pint at lunchtime.

Nice breakfast. The staff were very accommodating (had a pram with us).

We used to visit often while living in Hadleigh for breakfast & recently hired the venue in whole for my partners 30th & couldn’t recommend high enough. From booking to the evening, the team couldn’t be more helpful & really allowed us to make it our own. The food was amazing & all the staff were so welcoming - highly recommend & so grateful it went as smoothly as it did. Thank you!

Beautiful little dog friendly coffee shop and eatery that we stopped at, halfway through a round walk from Polstead to Hadeigh. Cosy, welcoming and just a shame that we had Sunday Lunch booked in the afternoon so we couldn’t sample the cakes which looked delicious! Would come again if we return to the area!

We love going into the Flying Guardsman. Wonderful food at a reasonable price. New Years Eve was wonderful with an intimate atmosphere which some great music.

Had the room upstairs for 14 for breakfast, the waitress was a delight and really had her work cutout, up and down the stairs constantly with trays and plates, the telly was available for the children, and the little room to the side was amazing for the 4 children to play. The food was great and catered for all the fussy ones, too. Ordered in advance a couple of days before. All went like clock work. Will definitely use it again, very accommodating indeed lovely place. Well done to all.

We went for breakfast on a Sunday morning, and we were the first in. It didn't take long to start filling up. Staff the whole time were happy, helpful, and making sure everyone had what they wanted and needed. Highly recommended you try thus place if you're ever in Hadleigh.

Staff here are lovely. Extremely helpful and abliging. There was a long wait for our order but we were kept fully informed of the problem , which meant a lot. The food was worth the wait, especially the omlette. Again the staff were great. Thankyou 🙂

I assumed on the day the cook must have been ill and judging by previous reviews this is a possibility. Had a full English and I was heavily disappointed. I didn't say anything because I was part of a birthday party and didn't want to cause a scene, but the food was cold when served, the same as my fiances vegetatian plate being cold too. I had undercooked rubbery bacon, soggy mushrooms, and black pudding like it was scraped off the floor. The only thing I enjoyed was the sausage which was just about fully cooked. Mocha was also watery with no real flavour. For the price this was a huge let down that put me off of returning.

Arrived just before midday. Breakfast for 5. Food was great. Staff polite, friendly and attentive. Cozy place on a cold day. Be back very soon

The wife and I went to listen to live music by Barefoot Soul. The pub/cafe was only serving drinks in a small, cozy area. My wife best described it as "having friends and a singer in our lounge/front room". We loved it. The service was great, with friendly, smiling, and happy staff, who made some fab cocktails - priced at £7.95, well worth it. A definite recommendation.

Went in for breakfast while in the town. Breakfast was presented beautifully, tasted wonderful and my poached eggs were perfect. I am usually the person cooking the meals so I do have high standards and The Flying Guardsman meet with flying colours Will be returning

Popped in to the flying guardsmen for lunch today ,and was pleasantly surprised by the hidden garden, a real gem , greeted with both a warm and friendly welcome, and served food which was tasty and plentiful,I will certainly be returning in near future

Found a hair stuck in the cream of my cake. There was an apology and assistant said she'd take it off the bill. I would have thought an offer to let me also have the coffee for free wouldn't have gone amiss What more can I say.🤢

Nice place with sunny garden. Friendly staff but food a little disappointing. Luke warm jacket potatoes and salad past its best. Won't hurry back.

Had a small English breakfast and pot of tea, it was delicious, all nice and hot. So nice to have polite, smiley, attentive staff. What a credit to the establishment.

During the day its all about the coffees, during the night its all about the cocktails! Chilled enviroment and lovely staff. Deffo the place to be day or night 10/10.

Had booked for a table and a meal. Got there .... no booking and the kitchens were closed on a Saturday! Seriously who shuts their kitchens on a Saturday? Such a shame as it has great reviews and we were looking forward to it. 😡

Absolutely love this place! Cannot recommend enough. The food is superb specially the T.F.G burger, ate here many times and it's the families favourite place to go. The staff are always welcoming and nothing is too much trouble for them, even our dog loves it here, owners are soo friendly. The garden is lovely to be in in summer specially with the cocktails they do aswell. Such a lovely place would 100% recommend for any occasion.

We love it at the TFG and have been multiple times. The staff are all super welcoming, food is outstanding and the atmosphere is 5 star. We have been to a few of there events as a family of 4 and always check on their Facebook page to see what's coming up next. The gardens are where we love to sit there is a pond which is well taken care of has a water feature and is lit up at night it's absolutley beautiful. Its Family friendly and dogs are welcome, treats for our four legged friends as well as a water bowl which Is always full. We recently stopped in for breakfast. We were welcomed kindly and seated in the bar area. Our order was taken promptly and the coffees arrived quickly after. The menu was extensive and caters for every need. Our food arrived in good time and was delicious. We were checked upon and offered anything else. After we finished our food our table was cleared, we asked for the bill and left happy and full ready for our long trip home to Cornwall. We will return when we visit family this year. Definitely recommend.

A wonderful place to sit and relax with a coffee or a meal and drink. Hadleigh has so many opportunities for dog walkers close to the centre and to have a dog friendly café close by is a real treat. A cycle ride there will be my next endeavour! There are areas where you can safely put bikes while you enjoy the freshly prepared food and admire the interesting architecture of the building.

To be honest, as much as I very much admire the work and courage of our armed services, the idea of eating at a military-themed restaurant to relax in was not one I would personally have chosen but I shouldn't have been put off by the name, it's gently and tastefully decorated, the service is friendly, the food tastes good and its dog-friendly too (if you eat outside I believe but best to check first). There's a little more personal space for customers now as there are fewer tables in the dining spaces. I reserved my 5th star as I personally enjoyed a good read there in the past and the ability to linger and watch the world go by (and buy that second drink) and would like to see the free papers reinstated but perhaps that's a Covid19 precaution. I'm really glad to see that the premises is still a coffee shop and eatery and this is a good one. I will definitely come back again and check out the gardens and upstairs. Do give it a try.😎👍

Lovely garden out the back. Staff friendly and helpful. Unfortunately our Lattes and Mocha were just warm.

Quite good coffee but not premium & never really hot enough even though i ask for extra hot! Also the regular size is only a 10oz cup & expensive, the food is quite good but abit too expensive also, the good thing is its tidier & you can take your dog, good meeting place

First visit mid day on a Saturday, really relaxed and nice atmosphere. Had BT sports on with Moto GP so liked that. Great little garden at the back with secluded areas so that’s pleasant. Happy to find a new place to have brekky, glass of wine or a lunch with beer. Staff are friendly and just an all round nice place to relax, oasis on a busy high street

We tried the Chilli Dog, TFG Burger and Southern Fried Chicken Burger along with a serving of THE best onion rings. We all loved our choices. And we were so spoilt as it was delivered. Such a treat to have a couple of beers and a takeaway with no one having to pick it up!!
