Do not cook early in year tried four pubs for eat out in end we had to settle for takeaway.or best to cook your food and save money.lot cheaper

Haven't been here for a little while now. But whenever I have been here in the past, food is always very good and staff are always friendly.

Arrived at bar gave benefit of the doubt. restaurant first impression not good but gave chance. Ordered starter wasn't too bad main couse steak overcooked , lasagne bland. No cutlery provided we had to go looking for it. Poor service.

After a long walk nearby, was looking for a warm pub that was dog accommodating, and we were not disappointed. Was a bit late on Sunday for a roast, but Jason and the team worked hard to accommodate us, checking in frequently, and being very friendly. Food was delicious - they did chicken breast and plenty of veg for a very reasonable price. Highly recommend!

Great pub. Parking can be a challenge, and the gents toilets are in need of a makeover but the team are very welcoming, and Sunday lunch was brilliant.

I went to this pub when I had family visiting. I've been here a handful of times in the past, and the other bar staff are always very nice. The landlady is abrupt, unprofessional and extremely rude. There are much nicer pubs in this village to spend an evening, so best avoid this place. Shame.

Me and my family came here twice during our 4 night stay because the food was excellent and the staff couldn’t do enough for you.

Omg 12 of us had a Xmas dinner here on Thursday it was absolutely amazing!! The meat was succulent the veg perfectly cooked and so much of it would 100% eat here everyday if I could as it was faultless!! Staff fab and very entertaining!! Give it a go folks I'm sure ull be as amazed as we were

Went for a Christmas lunch with friends. According to the website it is wheelchair accessible and has a wheelchair accessible toilet. Wrong on both counts. 2 members of staff had to help lift the wheelchair and user over the door step. There was no accessible toilet. It was an ancient outside toilet with no handrails and someone had to stand guard while it was being used as the wheelchair wouldn't fit in. The food was average, dry turkey and warm Christmas pudding. On a plus the staff were very friendly.

The Farmers arms is a lovely, welcoming pub right in the middle of the old village of Nottage. There’s a small car park opposite and outside seating to front and in the rear courtyard. The staff here a great, very warm and friendly. I phoned up at short notice last night for food and they fitted us in no problem. The food is excellent, freshly cooked and plenty of it ( also very reasonable priced ). There’s a good range of beer and cider on tap. All in all I’d thoroughly recommend the farmers arms.

First time visiting, and you can take your dog into the bar area. Very cosy, very welcoming. I will be back. The nicest place I've been for a while. All our food was home cooked. There was a crash on the m4 meaning we were an hour and a half late but they waited for us. What a fantastic couple running the place, lovely chef, even the locals were lovely. Loved it.

Went for the first time with my wife to the farmers arms for lunch and I must say, it did not disappoint. We were early arriving and our table was ready and we were escorted to our table. Our orders were taken and after a little wait was delivered a very nice sunday lunch and was not disappointed. Everything was piping hot and plentiful, we were even asked if we need extra veg. Very happy with our dining experience and will definitely be back to an evening meal in the week where there is a lot more on the menu. Lovely little pub with its own car park, good beer and excellent food.

Booked here for a Sunday lunch, as we were staying in the area, it was a just stunning. Melt in your mouth meat, veg cooked perfectly and gravy that was flavoursome and just the right consistency. Very friendly staff, nothing was too much trouble. Even though we live around an hour away we will be back.

I appreciate the fresh veg but Was not expecting a dry skinless chicken breast when I ordered my Sunday Roast. That is NOT how you roast chicken!

Nice pub, good beer, make sure you register your car if you use the car park.

Had 2 meals from the special menu & they were great value& very tasty definitely worth a visit lovey ambience staff were great. Only ever had Sunday lunch before which is always fab but will visit more mid week now.

Lovely old style pub with a great atmosphere run by lovely people serving proper cask ales, decent lagers and ciders as well as a range of cocktails. Great choice of food freshly prepared in house by a proper chef rather than reheated by someone with a GCSE in microwave operation. Free car park too, what more could you want.

The sirloin steak I had on grill night was one of the best steaks I've had in a long time, couldn't fault it. Same couldn't be said about the rack of ribs as there wasn't much flavour.

Excellent beer and the Sunday lunch was exceptional.

Went here for our first time yesterday for Sunday Lunch. The roast dinner was outstanding. The hospitality from Stacey was truly warming and welcoming. We definitely plan on going here again - and again! Well worth the 30 minutes drive. Look forward to trying more of the menu - the specials board looked amazing too. Absolutely gorgeous vegetarian Sunday dinner ,nut roast is to die for !Husband had beef and plenty of it too !Stacey and her team always go above and beyond ,just lucky it's our local !!Well worth a visit if your staying in porthcawl with a dog friendly bar which you can eat in or restaurant and bar !!

15 of us had occasion to visit the Unitarian chapel in Nottage for an afternoon Sunday service. We decided to have lunch before the service and choose the Farmers Arms as it advertised a good old fashioned Sunday lunch. Boy did we pick a winner and am so glad we did. The choice was good with the usual beef , pork or lamb as well as a vegetarian choice. They were short staffed and very busy but still delivered with a smile and constant updates. The staff could not do more for us , they were helpful and friendly throughout our stay. Our meals were piping hot with very generous helpings of meat and assorted vegetables. All at a very competitive price. I cannot remember when I had such a delicious home cooked Sunday lunch like it. Everyone enjoyed and have decided if and when we visit Nottage again our first choice to book will be the Farmers Arms. Called in for a quick drink and snack after a 4 hour journey and have just been hit with 60 pound fine for parking in the pub car park for 30 mins. Will never go back and will advise all our friends to do the same. Bad policy for the pub.

We had Sunday lunch on Father’s Day, I had not previously booked as staying close by on holiday but they very kindly fitted us in. The staff and service was amazing. I would highly recommend the food for Sunday lunch.

Had a great little mid week meal here this evening. The staff were lovely and welcoming. So kind and considerate towards my little girls a real family friendly venue. The food was delicious! Fresh home cooked lasagne (my partner inhaled it too quickly for a photo) and a lovely scampi and chips!

Our second time here and it will not be the last time! What a warm welcome we received, the Manager or owner (unfortunately we did not ask his name) was very attentive and friendly. We were taken to our table. The tables are spaced out well so you are not sat too close to the next. The waitress was very pleasant, took our drinks order and then our food, we both decided to go for the roast beef. My oh my we were not disappointed. Our plates were layered with beef, gravy, yorkshire pud, roast potatoes and boiled potatoes. Our veg came in a separate platter with extra gravy, lovely touch extra gravy in a gravy boat. The beef truly is melt in the mouth, absolutely delicious and plenty of it. The veg was cooked to perfection, the yorkshire pud fluffy and crisp, potatoes proper roasted potatoes, crisp on the outside fluffy in the middle. I managed to eat it all, no way did I want to waste any. Unfortunately I cannot comment on desserts as we did not have any! The Sunday dinner was more than enough. This pub is a little gem, the staff are lovely. The car park across the road makes it easy to park. I really cannot fault our experience and we cannot wait to visit again. Arguably one of the best Sunday lunches in Wales! Or actually in the UK! Home cooked food, generous portions, fresh perfectly cooked veg with a bit of bite and as much gravy as you can bash a boat at. Highly recommend to anyone who is hungry. The staff are extremely friendly and nothing too much for them! Easter Sunday Lamb was excellent and they even give my girls an Easter egg for eating all their dinner. Can’t fault this place for service and making families welcome!

Just had an amazing beef Sunday Dinner. The beef was so tender and the vegetables were lovely. My husband had the vegetable lasagne and that was very tasty too, all homemade. The staff were all very friendly . Would highly recommend a visit.

Called in for lunch on Saturday while the rugby was on, I had Cajun chicken and chips and my wife had Scampi. Both meals were excellent, i can recommend the Cajun chicken. Bar maid was dressed in Welsh costume for the rugby and was very friendly and made us feel welcome. Will definitely return soon

5 stars isn't enough. Freshly prepared food and cooked to perfection too. I didn't notice any pre-packed or frozen produce here. Service was exceptional too. I made the mistake in not telling them we were bringing dogs with us but they bent over backwards to fit us in and this was on Sunday afternoon and the place was packed with loads of dog parties too. Never have we been made to feel so welcome. We stumbled across it and had the most delicious Sunday roast; what's more is that they are super dog friendly!
