Excellent as normal, our fav Chinese, best dishes are the starters plus lemon chicken & smoked chicken, staff always good/helpful/friendly,

As always the staff treated my family well, attentive and polite. The food (as always) was excellent and plentiful. We will always use The Emperor for our family gatherings.

Still remains one of my favourite restaurants of all time. Haven’t been able to go for a while & after reading some recent (not so great) reviews on here I was worried things had changed, but they haven’t- still as good as ever. Yes inflation means they have increased their prices but at £32 a head I think is pretty good value for money. All you can eat, cooked to order fresh off the menu. It doesn’t get much better than that. The food is delicious, fresh, hot, served super fast & great quality. Have been coming here for easy 10 years now & even though I keep moving further away, I always end up travelling far to come here. Came midweek with a friend, we were here for almost 4 hours. We didn’t feel rushed at all, staff are friendly. Already looking forward to my next date night here!

The food was just ok, we were encouraged to go for the buffet menu which is £32 each, I don’t recommend it, as there is no way choosing from the a la cart you would eat that much, the service was speedy, but the food too greasy and lacked seasoning, at the end of the meal, we asked for a doggy bag to take what was left and was informed, it was against their policy to provide doggy bags for the buffet menu, which to me, was unheard of! The other thing we didn’t like was that there were only two tables occupied, but all the staff were on the restaurant floor, talking loudly with each other in Cantonese,which was a bit much. All in all, too expensive for what you get, and quite a flat atmosphere, sorry to say, won’t be returning.

I am a little conflicted from last night. As a family we have been coming to The Emperor since the 80's, since I was a child myself. Last night was a special night for my mother as it was her birthday. I had booked a table for 8, but unfortunately, my niece and nephews all ended up sick with a virus. We ended up ordering from the buffet menu as we were pushed by the server to do so, the food itself was not as good as it normally is and it did not even look pleasing to the eye. The braised mushroom and bamboo shoot was disgusting. There was not enough pancakes for the duck and the duck was dry. The ribs were tasteless and so dry, I would say the meal was average as if it was not the same chef like before. Everytime we wanted to order more food, we were looked at as we shouldn't and are we sure we could eat that, even though it was a buffet menu. The service was slow, I expect they want to serve slow, so that you get full quickly and end up paying £32 regardless of what you order, which is really bad and very expensive for what they delivered and I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THE BUFFET MENU, ORDER YOUR OWN THINGS as you will not be eating £32 worth of food. There was food leftover and for the first time we asked for a doggie bag for my mum to take home, which every restaurant we go to provide happily if there is anything leftover so as to not waste it but I am assuming they keep it, reheat it and give it to another customer the next day. We were shocked to be told that is not possible, WHAT? Apparently people order lots so that they end up taking it home, so what? If are paying for the food, it is up to them if they want to take it home or not. I didn't want to make a big deal as it was my mother's birthday, but the restaurant had no right to refuse their customer request for something that we were going to pay and the bill was not cheap. This has put me off ever returning to that restaurant and even though before we left my mother did tell the server off, as a family we have decided not to return here again, being served on a timely manner and professionally is very important to us, would I recommend this restaurant, not anymore. Very disappointed and do not recommend not only because of this experience but the service was poor and the door was not that good, very bland!!!!!

I was taken to the Emperor restaurant for a surprise birthday meal, the food is fantastic it's the best Chinese I have ever tasted, the crispy duck and lamb are great, and so was all the other food, looking forward to going back soon.

This is a lovely restaurant tonight was out third visit. The food is really lovely very much enjoyed just let down by one waitress who was ever so rude rushing you to order. Asked for some prawn crackers and was told no later lol but as soon as my glass was empty happy to go get me another then to have a bill of over £100, £15 for service charge, which on this occasion I didn't pay due to her rudeness not sure we will be going again Shane really get they are busy but as a paying customer do not expect to be treated in such a rude manner found this particular lady quite rude on every occasion but this time was the worse.

Came here as part of my brothers birthday with my family. They do a buffet style menu where you pay a set price (in the region of £21 I believe) you then start of by ordering as many starters you want off the menu.

Han venido un par de veces anteriormente y nos divertimos mucho, ya que la comida es siempre excelente, sin embargo la última vez que visitamos puede ser nuestro último como el servicio no está a la altura. Camareros olvidaron nuestras órdenes la comida llegó en muy corto estallidos y acabamos la noche un poco decepcionado. Quizás un pero, sin embargo, una pena.

We visit the Emperor every Chinese New Year but like it so much (it's probably the best Chinese restaurant in the Sutton and Cheam area) that we are finding ourselves increasing the frequency of our visits. 6 of us had a wonderful meal last night. The format is always the same i.e. you can order whatever you want from their very comprehensive 'ala carte buffet' menu PLUS other dishes (which may need to be ordered in advance e.g. lobster noodles).

Mi pareja reservó este hotel para una comida de post de San Valentín, él no me di cuenta que el tipo de menú que tienen allí. Era extremadamente concurrido, lo que teniendo en cuenta la buena relación calidad-precio no es una sorpresa, era un poco de ruido para nosotros. Encontramos el primer plato y el pato tortitas muy bueno, sabroso y caliente, pero nos pareció que los platos principales a ser un poco soso lateral, quizás elegimos los platos mal. En general disfrutamos de la noche y probablemente volveremos pero con ere un poco decepcionado con la red.

Tuvimos el buffet tenedor en una noche de sábado, lo que fue de lo más agradable. Pedimos un montón de aperitivos, incluyendo los rollos de primavera, dos tipos de costillas, dos tipos de algas, langostinos, pollo, champiñones, crujientes satays de pollo, cordero y gambas crujientes sándwiches tostados, pato con tortitas. Toda la comida era de un alto estándar y cualquiera de nuestras peticiones extra realizó rápidamente. Tuvimos una gran variedad de platos principales, incluyendo carne, pollo y langostinos con fideos de arroz y acompañado de nuevo cocinado a un alto nivel. Have been to this restaurant many times over many years, mainly enjoying the Sunday Buffet and last Sunday 9 family members went there to celebrate my Mum's 80th and to be honest it was very disappointing, the food was excellent as is always the case but the personal touch has vanished, no warm greeting, far too many tables crammed in, no coats were taken on entrance so they were on the backs of chairs which people were tripping over, Drinks order took for ever and then they forgot to bring a bottle of wine which we had to ask for again, nowhere near enough staff to cover customers demand and the initial Duck course was brought after about 15 minutes , the drinks on the bill were not itemized which again is very bad and then to top it all off the manager didn't even thank us for attending. This restaurant unfortunately seems to have completely lost the reason why it has always been a winner in many peoples eyes, greed has now overtaken the restaurant and they only seem to be interested in getting as many people in there as humanly possible and to hell with the customer the decor also hasn't changed for years and leaves a lot to be desired and for the first time in many a year my loyalty towards them is turning sour, Really disappointed !!

Went twice in the last week. The first evening saw 14 of us around a single round table (very cosy!) and last night with my wife - both visits were to celebrate Chinese New Year (Rooster).

Llamamos para reservar una mesa para el sábado 21/01/17 último domingo 15/01/17, pero me dijeron que todas las sillas donde van a utilizar, lo reservamos para este domingo 22 / 0 / 17 a las 6 de la tarde. Cuando llegamos a las 6. 05:00h con dos niños hambrientos menores de 4 años, me dijeron que no había reservado una silla alta, que claramente no y todos ellos donde se utiliza cuando no abren hasta las 6 pm. Cuando explicamos cuando llamamos y dijeron que tenían ninguno disponible para el sábado, así que reservamos Domingo excepto habíamos reservado una silla alta hemos pasado 30 minutos llegar aquí para que me dijeran "lo siento" es que nada se puede hacer fuera de allí las manos. Nos nuevo que una tabla que no habíamos reservado una silla alta como les dijeron 'no libro, necesitamos la silla alta" para que me dijeran que no había sino claramente. Cuando nos dijo que era inaceptable no se dice nada o que me siento algo para ordenar la próxima vez que deberían haber hecho. Que no regresaremos de nuevo, venimos a menudo cumpleaños etc. y tengo familiares y amigos que viven cerca que vienen muy regularmente y le contaré que no regreso, una pena ya que te pierdes muchos negocios fuera de la manera en que han sido tratados. Así que si usted desea ir y tienen niños traer su propia silla alta si eso es posible, pero no esperes un buen servicio al cliente.

Our company visited the restaurant last Friday for the all-you-can-eat dinner. The staff were very helpful, friendly and courteous. The food was delicious, especially the squid! Will definitely be returning!

I came here for a friend's birthday. £19.90 each for an unlimited buffet which is great considering that for the bill, we just each paid £19.90 each! Friendly staff, nice round tables creating a sociable atmosphere.

Estado aquí unos 5 veces y nos encanta. Siempre tenemos una estupenda, sabrosa comida. No vamos por el buffet, sólo el menú a la carta, así que es bueno que te dan la opción de que mi compañero y yo no tengo grandes apetitos. Gran ambiente y muy buen personal. Sin duda nuestro restaurante chino de elección y que le recomiendo encarecidamente.

What can I say excellent service, excellent food and excellent value for money. This is like no other buffet. You order from the menu, and get waited on. None of this go up to the buffet and help yourself. The food is just so good, you order a starter, followed by duck, then a main and then there is a set dessert menu. And you can order as much food as you like. All this for £21. So you tell yourself well the drink must be expensive but no for a restaurant it is very reasonably priced. I would recommend this restaurant 10 times over.

The Emperor is a firm favourite with my family and we've been eating here for about 20 years. Consistently great quality food and service. Highly recommended.

I've lived in the area for 15 years and never actually tried this restaurant and what a shame. I went for a lovely buffet meal with my friends and the staff were so attentive, the waiter paid particular attention to the fact I was vegetarian and brought out some lovely alternatives to duck and a selection of vegetarian starters for me to try. The meal was real value for money and tasty. We didn't feel rushed or hurried at the end of the meal, particularly as we were one of the last tables to leave the restaurant. I shall certainly be returning again.

Popped in to the emperor on a random visit as we felt like a change from our usual restaurant that's now gone downhill.

Me and my boyfriend went there for Sunday lunch buffet which was £13.50 per person. It was very busy and we had no reservation but were seated at the bar and in the end had to wait only 10 minutes for the table. Crispy duck with pancakes were included in the price. It was brought to the table very quickly it was amazing. The buffet didn't have the biggest selection but it was delicious and everything was topped up quickly. Loved the food and the service and will definitely go back.
