The most wonderful pub in South London. Great atmosphere, good beers and space to sit. The place has real character and is so comfy. I just want to stay for pint after pint. A modern George Orwell would heartily approve of this place.

Excellent Battersea pub just off Northcote Road about 15 minutes walk from Clapham Junction Railway Station. Three cask beers - and one cider - on handpump when I visited including an old ale. Lots of outdoor seating at the front and in the covered beer garden to the rear. Very friendly staff and a great feel about the place helped by lots of customers with dogs!

The Eagle Ale House is a family run traditional pub. The pub itself has not been modernized and retains it's original Character. It provides a wide range of Ales along with German larger, cider, wine and spirits. It does not have food but you can bring your own, or have it delivered. On the last Tuesday of every month there is a very entertaining open mic night. I recommend this pub

This place is a vestige of old, British drinking establishments. There is no food (maybe crisps, not even sure), but decent, well-kept, traditional cask ale is served. It's actually quite hard to explain The Eagle, but let's just say, if you want to step back in time to the glory days of the traditional boozer, then look no further. It's a miracle it's still here, especially in this part of London. Long may it continue.

This is the sort of pub I'd move hundreds of miles just to have as my local. Fantastic place, great people behind the bar and you can tell they know their stuff with some excellent beers on tap. They seem to get a good crowd in - a real cross section of society and the sort of people who make you where the "unfriendly" London stereotype came from... plus the prices are very reasonable indeed. Well worth a visit whether you're local or just passing through!

Horrendous draught cider. Very weird layout, especially when a band is playing. Crowd is very touchy feely towards women and I felt I was being touched without my consent on sensitive parts of my body multiple times. Prices are expensive, but standard for London. I wouldn't visit again.

Google reviews weren't around when I used to work behind the bar here back in 1989/90 when I stayed in London for a couple of years. The guvnor was a little Irish guy called Joe. I loved both working and drinking in this pub as it had a great atmosphere and good beer, so I'm glad to see the many good reviews, although I see the Garndener's across the road isn't there anymore. For anyone reading this who remembers back then, my uncle was Harry the plasterer from Glasgow-liked a Guinness. Sorry it's not really much of a pub review, more just a little trip down memory lane for me.

A gorgeous little local find, cosy and comfy indoors, a small space with plenty of seats and little alcoves for a bit of old school privacy, a very welcome change from the vast soulless airship hangars that many bars seem to ape. I don't care if they serve sport or not, I don't care about the music, it's a place to come and snuggle down and have a good chinwag with mates & tennis partners!

Nice place and good atmosphere, bit weird they have “cash is king card is killing us” signs everywhere - feels a little ungrateful that I’m handing them £5.50 for a vodka coke and they don’t like me choosing how I pay. Taking only cash costs too - there’s the risk of theft, forgeries, bank charges to deposit and the fact hundreds of people simply wouldn’t come in as they don’t carry cash. When independent pubs are struggling, not an ideal message to complain about the way I’m literally handing you profits!

The owner of the pub was drunk.. while collecting glasses, when I complained about my pint, the response was like oooh well never mind, I guess the locals like it. That’s why it’s still open, but not a great choice of beer, more ales. Guinness was absolute trash, garden area looks like someone turned up with some scaffolding & Clear Twinwall, 2 heaters for the outdoor area…. So this is just my experience, everyone has their own opinion but this is mine !!!!

As ever, more than enough of a selection of superlative cask beers to satisfy any CAMRA-judge-wannabe’s need for a stalwart pint of Bitter. The New Forest Best is my 1st choice when on, or if not as today, the Shere Drop is many’s fave! I chose an “Original” Pork Pie with English Mustard from an assortment of Pork Pies. One with Blue Cheese tempted me but I know what I like! It’s actually my fave Pork pie anywhere. By a mile. I’ve known this pub for years and am very fond of the brilliant landlord and his wife who know me (but do only see me at my beer-swigging Best!) The No.1 Manger is a real character. All the staff are great! The regulars are all good for a convo if you can penetrate the “Local v. Outsider” wall. The Yoot love the Eagle and can add a real buzz to the crustier aspects of the place. A Music/Jam/Open Mic Night happens regularly which is worth investigating if your that way inclined. Sitting in the rear garden with the above-mentioned combo writing a review is the perfect thing to be doing right now.

This pub I've been wanting to review for a while but it's either been closed, or it's been rammed wall to wall and I can't get my empty pictures. I timed it wrong again here, celebrating after a successful opticians visit, I arrived 10 minutes before opening. The guy on the bar welcomed me in regardless, and poured an exceptional pint of the Verdant Sundialer I previously posted. I had 2 of them. I could've had a million of them. Basking in wobbly garden embracing the sun, then the torrential rain then the sun again, reeling from the half of @breadstall pizza I'd inhaled moments prior, it doesn't get much better than that. The pub itself is old af, goes back to 1876 I believe and was restored in 1890, originally one of six pubs on the street and the main brewery supplying them. Sadly this is the last one remaining, many a pub gone in Clapham to make way for housing, some of the facades and structures remain if you look closely. Some resembling pubs so much that I got my roads mixed up and thought this one had closed down a few years back - reading old articles, there was a very real threat that it did during Covid. Inside it's roomy, comfy, and red. It's probably the best way to describe it. Coat-hooks under the bar, and bar seating, are a welcomed sight to see. It's the small touches that make this one of the classic pubs you know and love, and with the impressive keg and cask selection it's no wonder it's been repeatedly listed as a CAMRA SW London award winner, and even graced the cover of the GBG. Some great memories of bouncing down Northcote Road when I lived and worked in Clapham many years ago. A good slice of nostalgia bouncing down here again, not much has changed, and with respect to this pub, I'm thankful for it.

Looks very nice inside. Very well designed from an interior point of view but seems like the TVs and the furniture were put up not corresponding to each other. Especially above the bar. Other than that the service was okay, first time I have seen someone open a bottle with a ice scoop. Would probably come back.
