Food was greasy beer is expensive waiting staff didn't want to be there and it's a bit crammed in not great

Been here twice now and love it the food is lovely nice relaxed atmosphere too, Staff are friendly, deffo be back again at some point.

Only had drinks, but as the food was being served it all looked delicious. Probably why the place was rammed

A pub in a small village which is a clear local pub. Very welcoming. The food, unbelievable. For classic pub grub and things you wouldn't expect. Second to none, best "pub" food I've ever had/seen. Priced at a very reasonable rate. Couldn't recommend more and that's someone who will be looking at coming back and lives a good hour away.

We stumbled upon this pub as we were staying local for a wedding and it was a gem of a find! You can tell its a local pub but it was welcoming to anyone The food was next level we ordered way too much as we usually expect to need sides to fill us along side our meals but the mains themselves were absolutely amazing! And well priced too we were amazed The staff are friendly and chatty Overall well worth a visit we will be back for sure

A hidden gem but well worth the effort to visit. It has a car park at the rear and parking on the road. Service was excellent and very friendly. Comfortable seating and there was a good selection of dishes. There were four of us all ordering differently but we all very much enjoyed the meals.

Called here on recommendation and thought we'd give it a try.the pub is set in the old part of Wales village across from the old village church. when entering there was a warm welcoming atmosphere with locals chatting at the bar and a roaring log burner glowing.there are plenty of tables and the all room is tastefully decorated.we was shown to our table of joise and the lady took our drinks order.we also ordered the steak which when arrived was cooked to perfection. The lady who served us was very helpful and could not do enough for us, so was very pleased with the service.there is a car park at the rear with plenty of spacers. Definitely will be returning.

Went here for my sisters birthday. Was great, food was amazing and portions were massive.

Nice traditional pub with drinking areas and dinning areas.outdoor area as well. the food was home cooked and if you choose chips they are cooked in the traditional way in beef dripping.food was excellent,well worth paying a little more then the large chain pubs.for a few quid more you get delicious food instead of the, at best, average green king or Witherspoon meals

Lovely food well cooked. The staff were helpful and polite. This was our first time but we will be going back .Definately recommend

Fab little country pub food amazing a it's a hidden gem

Visited on Sunday. Waited at the table 25 minutes nobody came to take my order. Eventually ordered at the bar. Same for payment at the end had to go to the bar to ask for the bill. Beef really dry. Won't be returning

Lovely pub, went to an 18th, brill food

Amazing from stepping through the door to leaving. The manageress ( lady with the dark hair) was so accommodating. Service was exemplary. The villa Maria wine option was well appreciated and my husbands pints of Stones was the best he's tasted. Beautiful pub well presented and Ian the owner made us feel extremely welcome. Definitely worth a visit. You won't be dissapointed!!

Duke of Leeds in Wales/ Kiveton park is a wonderful local pub! Great atmosphere whether you are just calling in for your dinner or if you have a big celebration! The staff always look after us really well. The food is always great as well! Would highly recommend this local village pub!

Went here for 40th anniversary celebration with four great friends. Superb Sunday day out. Super food plenty on plate. Service top notch. Can't thank you enough. Will certainly be back....you deserve to do well...a cut above the competition.

The food and service was absolutely amazing, couldn't complain at the price either. Food was out quickly and was hot, the pie and chips are to die for, will definitely be returning.

Lovely atmosphere, very warm and welcoming. The lady who served us was lovely, friendly and nothing was too much trouble. The food was delicious and very filling. We had lamb that was so tender we didn't need a knife to cut it. We'll be going back sooner rather than later. Also pet friendly. Highly recommended.

Great home cooked food amazing the Abbeydale Moonshine was delicious and was the perfect much to wash down the amazing fish and chips.

We went for a late lunch after a walk nearby and so happy we stumbled across this place. Great food at great prices. Best fish finger sandwich ever! Lovely staff. We're not local, so can't make it a habit, unfortunately.

Genuinely gluten free! I was not unwell after eating here, which is rare for me to eat out and not have a gluten reaction. Well done to the Duke of Leeds kitchen staff for providing a meal that had not even a trace of gluten in it. Thank you. Usually I’m unwell after eating “gluten free” food in restaurants or takeaways. But not this time! Thank you! It was also truly delicious. Really really good. Two of the three servers were friendly and very helpful. Clean, nice furniture, well maintained car park. The toilets were clean but very cold! If I’m in the area again, I’ll make a detour to revisit.

Excellent service, choice and quality of food. A pre- birthday celebration and we had a mix of roast dinner, fish and some of them also had desserts. All well presented, piping hot and great friendly service too. Well done Team!! We hope to be back!

Top notch pub grub with lovely staff

Fantastic home cooked food in a cosy village pub. I had the OX cheeks from the specials board and my friend had the Salmon from the msin menu, both delicious. Staff are also friendly and helpful , highly recommended.

We were there after funeral service for my brother. As pub across from church. Lovely looking building. Difficult for me to say much about food as we eat vegan . They did put on a few vegan items.

Fabulous Friday eve dinner for 2! Gtest atmosphere where locals meet travelling through strangers, friendly forthcoming staff and really good Pub Grub! My favorite over n over again BBQ ribs with Large Onion rings, coleslaw, I dressed side salad n chunky chios and complimentary sauces as much as you want! Always going beyond the mile for the customer! Lamb steak to die for my hubby says! We recommend if you want a local, chain free pub with good vibes, friendly people, forthcoming staff and great food! Thank you Paul the chef and Ian the Landlord!

Great place to eat, good selection on the menu and specials board. When your food arrives, there is plenty of well cooked , and very well presented looking plate, will definitely be returning. Not over priced either, infact good value. Well stocked ales and lager.

Sadly had cod and chips yesterday , cod was awfull , don't know what was up but batter was burnt inside and tasted like bad shoe leather . Fish was OK inside but seemed as if it had been re cooked. Not upto to the normally very high standard we usually get , was 1st time , and last , I have the famous fish and chips , I'll stick to pie. Chips were to die for as always

We only popped in yesterday while visiting family in the area , we didn't fancy much to eat so we only ended up having the fish goujons which came with tartar sauce and mushy peas but the food was stunning and our relative reckons they are really well known for food especially the fish dishes they served so we are going to have to return for a proper meal , only given 4 stars for atmosphere because we went in the day time so it was quiet but everyone In there was pleasant and helpful.

Fantastic menu, my self I'd recommend large haddock and chips with Irish curry sauce the batter is Fantastic I'm not a great batter fan but I loved it also I'd recommend the bacon steak with maple sauce it's great good food great staff landlord is a very friendly giant also.

Lovely pub. Friendly service. Had a couple of drinks and some food. Fantastic food would highly recommend.

On holiday in the area, decided to go here from the good reviews. Turned up without booking on a busy Sunday afternoon, thankfully there was a table free for the 5 of us. The Sunday roasts were delightful, melt in the mouth lamb and the kids meals were very sufficient. Probably a good job the specials board wasn't available or we'd have had trouble deciding, maybe an excuse to go back. The staff were very pleasant and attentive, would highly recommend this very charming establishment.

Nice staff only went for a drink

Nice place to sit outside apart from awful wooden benches when weather is nice, but really small seating area. Beer at reasonable prices. Good bar service and the place is very clean. Landlady should try and smile rather than looking so miserable ☹️.

Good atmosphere, reasonable price. The food was ok

Top quality food. I had home made fish fingers and a quantity of beer. Taylors landlord at its magnificent best. A cider. Staff were attentive without being intrusive polite and efficient. So a grumpy Yorkshireman came away satiated not so sober but massively happy. Give it a try you will not be disappointed.

Great food, beer and service. Also football showing and a real fire. Highly recommend.

Excellent public house. Loved the log burner which made it all cosy and nice. The atmosphere was great. The food menu was extensive and catered for every taste. You can always tell the how good a pub is by the state of their toilets. On this occasion they were really clean and looked after, so it is obvious that the staff care about their establishment. I would recommend this public house for food and a day/night out.

Came for a meal here yesterday and had a roast pork dinner and for the price I wouldn’t come again. It was nice enough don’t get me wrong but for £12.95 you’d think you’d get more vegetables, less fatty meat and a decent amount of gravy. I got one carrot, 2 parsnips & 3 green beans. The meat was a bit fatty and there was hardly any gravy on it also, they did bring out two more pots of gravy but sharing between 6 of us it’s still not enough really. The service was really slow, I understand people get busy but there should have maybe been more staff on as we were sat waiting to order for around 30 minutes. It’s nice to come for a drink but I won’t come for food again.

Warm and friendly welcome, attentive but not obtrusive service, great ales and top notch classic pub food. Locally renowned for the fish and chips, it doesn't disappoint. Cooked in a proper range in beef dripping, the taste is as good as anything in Whitby.

Just been to Duke of Leeds and the staff the food everything about the visit was perfect will defo be back the only complaint I'd have is the rude self intitled customer who thought the lady behind bar had four pair of hands get a grip and have patience

Had the Roast Lamb lunch today. The plate of food arrived overflowing. There was so much food on the plate that I was put off trying to tackle it all. Do you really need roast and mash potatoes, alongside carrots, cabbage, parsnip, leek, sugar snap peas, French beans, large Yorkshire pudding gravy. The lamb was too rare, almost raw. It was very hard to cut with a standard knife. The service was very slow. Altogether very disappointing.

Had fish and chips here, absolutely gorgeous. The beer was on form too.

Had homemade meat and potato pie it was so delicious and plenty of it 😋 The fruit crumble was also very good and 1 portion would easily do 2 people.
