If you want the public to enjoy your fish and chips, why subject them to the terrible image of the suffering fish you have in the fish tank? Indeed, why have a fish tank at all if the fish in it are looking desperate for survival? It’s grotesque and I may never eat fish and chips again!

First Class traditional Cantonese Chinese takeaway. Their special spring rolls are un-surpassed. Their food appears free of MSG (I am allergic and get no reaction) all their food is top notch including the fish and chips; a back street treasure

We've been coming here for years, it's our local takeaway. The meals have always tasted fantastic, and probably the tastiest Chinese we've tried. Quality is always spot on, as are the portion sizes. If you've not tried the Dolphin before, you should, and you'll not be disappointed.

I have never had celery, nor cooked cucumber in a chicken and cashew nuts but to get the exact same sauce, cooked cucumber and celery in the beef and straw mushrooms!! Yuk!! Salt and pepper chips, yuk! Curry sauce, yuk! Chicken fried rice yukers! Even the prawn crackers were crappers. £49 going in the bin. How do they have 4.7 rating??

Best fish and chips. Went to the Dolphin (and before that when it was Whiteley's!) all the time when Iived in Rudd Street and have lived in the States 38 years and still go every time I'm home. I'm here now and have already been twice in 10 days.

Had the best chicken in black bean ever. A little spice to finish the meal and that’s completed our Friday. Thank you guys for the meal. Also I want to mention the Covid rules, the chip was so clean and I did notice the glass sneeze screens were high end and the money handed over was anti backed with a spray. 5 stars for the food and 5 stars for being Covid safe

THE BEST CHIPPY IN THE WORLD! I can’t give it enough praise! The homemade spring rolls are divine! Chicken fried rice incredible! Even just a bag of chips! And the gravy! Oooft! Fit!! Been coming here my whole life and I’ll never stop! It’s amazing!!

Cracking chippy run by lovely people

Just called in, I’m exempt from wearing a mask, the guy was so rude he demanded 'Mask' then I showed him my exemption card, he said 'stand there and go back outside' as if I’m some disease ridden person. He absolutely deserves to go out of business talking to me that way. Got back in my car and drove off. Not giving my money to someone like that.

YES YES YES !!!! Best chippy in hoylake and surrounding area. Always fresh, always hot. Ive tried all the other chippy’s but they don't come close. Real authentic Chinese cooking. Go see Rupert (Ming) and his family for quality food.

Nice enough, I thought the chips were a touch soggy but the wife said they were perfect so who knows. Fish was spot on

We came about this little chip shop by chance. After seeing the huge queues at Marigolds in West Kirby, we had a drive through Hoylake and spotted this place had just opened. The staff were very friendly, we ordered fish and chips, peas and curry sauce. It was absolutely delicious, the curry sauce was probably the best I've ever tried. Would definitely recommend.
