The Divan Restaurant in Chesterfield

Lovely food and lovely people. We have particular dietary requirements - one in the group was vegetarian and another has an allergy to Capsicum (or Bell Peppers) Instructions were given for no Capsicum on any of the 4 meals - which others not adhered to. Food was tasty and well presented, with medium portion sizes, meal was a few nibbles - bread, Humous, Terzakis and Olives followed by main courses (which for one in the party was two starters. All went well.

The staff were very attentive & friendly and the food was extremely tasty. We were blown away by the lamb's liver and the mix of taste within the Chefs special platter was so enjoyable. Definitely worth a visit!

What a gem this lovely restaurant is. A very warm welcome, excellent service and delicious food. A special mention to Basi. Thank you for a fantastic introduction to Turkish cuisine. We look forward to visiting again.

Me and my wife decided to order food for collection, we love Turkish and we're on a low carb diet. The Mixed Grill or Chefs Special as they call it looked the perfect choice! So I ordered 2(Photo attached of description). When I picked it up, firstly, the girl in there was very friendly, and suggested we had free dips (cacik and ezme, complimentary everywhere) that's by the by, I was then asked if I could pay cash as their card machine has a high charge, to me if you take card don't make the customer feel guilty for using it. On to the food, at over £21 per meal I was gutted, the amount of meat albeit tasty was pitiful, it was bulked out with potatoes and rice, this was more than 50% of the dish, yet no mention on the menu, if there was we'd have not ordered it. Sadly enough potatoes and rice to feed a small family was thrown away and we were both left feeling hungry. Like I say the meat was tasty, just the amount for the money as a little naughty

We went on Sunday to celebrate our Anniversary. Everything was outstanding, the gorgeous meal, attentive staff and pleasant surroundings. Would thoroughly reccomend and would love to return.

We went for an anniversary meal on a Sunday evening. The food was outstanding and plentiful. The two girls running front of house were very polite and professional. Would certainly return if near Chesterfield.

Rip off restaurant, run down and grotty decor, mediocre (at very best) food, poor poor menu, ludicrous priced drinks (from aldi) and after your meal they demand you pay in cash or they will 'add a service charge' on top of the ridiculous prices they already charge !! Save your money and your time and pick any other restaurant in the area !!

My wife and I visited for my 50th birthday a couple of weeks ago, it was the first time we had called and we were impressed by the warm welcome we received. We had the Divan special for 2 as we wanted to try as many different types of Turkish cuisine as we could and we were impressed visually and also taste wise.

Second time here, even better than the first absolutely class. Beautiful food, and beautiful people!!! Excellent experience, the service is incredible

Had three courses here with some friends, food was gorgeous, fair price and very filling. The flavours of the food and quality were unreal, some of the nicest I've every had. The young girl who served us was lovely, attentive, fast and professional. Well definitively be back :)

This restaurant is decorated beautifully, ans the food is such so good. There were 4 of us and we ordered a set menu for 4‌, the portions were greata and the meat platter was so delicious. One of the best turkish places we have been to. I also told the manger I was trying to learn turkish and she was very patient with me and tried to speak to me in turkish, and also taught me a few new words. Most recent food from here was takeaway, I have had several orders for collection as well as eating at the location with family or friends. The food is always amazing, consistently if the same taste and quality. Have tried several items off the menu but faves have to be the chicken iskender and the rice pudding style desert. My two children also enjoy eating here which is amazing for our family as my youngest is autistic so eating out together can be a challenge. The staff are so lovely, my youngest is always treated with kindness and patience and the staff remember my children when we go back and engage with them. Truly can not recommend this place enough.

Passing through Chesterfield, we decided to eat at this restaurant which had perfect reviews. We couldn't have made a better choice! The restaurant has a nice ambience, is well decorated and good Turkish music was being played. The food was absolutely delicious. The menu is rich with great choices. I had a Chicken iskender with ayran (freshly made). Finally, the staff was amazing, very implicated and made sure we had a lovely night. I definitely recommend this restaurant if you want to taste Turkish cuisine or if you're already a fan!
