The Dinner Bell Bistro in Ards

We had a great breakfast at The Dinner Bell Bistro. The food was fabulous and plentiful. The atmosphere was welcoming, and the staff was outstanding. The outside garden was a hidden gem. If the weather is warm, be sure to eat outside.

Came here for my daughter’s birthday with husband daughter and two grandchildren .food was amazing ,burgers made to order and tasted delicious …..my daughter and I are fussy about our burgers. Hubby got stirfry complete with chopsticks and smelt beautiful . Kids enjoyed there’s. Staff were lovely ,nothing too much trouble . Out back is a peaceful tranquil area to enjoy a cup of coffee.but it hides a little secret …….according to my granddaughter ! The fairy garden !! She just loves it ! I was going to post some photos but no! Go see for yourself ! It is wheelchair accessible from the street and disabled toilets also easily accessed. Plenty of room for a wheelchair . Would I return? 100percent ,highly recommend it !

Fabulous. Me and my wife have been a few times now and yes the food is great as are the staff...but it is rare to find any customer facing businness to.be so consistently superb. Well done .you make a super team and advise anyone to go

A hidden gem, we were warmly greeted by Ben, first class service, excellent choice , top quality food , big bonus you can bring your own wine with reasonable corkage fee, and the fairy garden is enchanting for all ages. A “must” to visit and enjoy.

The granny’s egg in a cup with maple bacon and toast is truly gorgeous. But if u think that’s good then you must try the mushrooms in a creamy cheesy sauce. Best breakfast in North down hands down. Staff are amazing also.

You wouldn’t get a better place to eat!! The food is outstanding, homemade and always on point! We have been loads of times to the dinner bell and it’s a lovely family run business Sam, Pete and the staff are so friendly and accommodating to all your requests, the garden is beautiful and peaceful. Not to mention the Scones are THE best!!

Valentines Meal.. Cosy, delicious food. Very welcoming staff, My husband and I often pop in for breakfast which is always lovely. So to be the winner of the valentines competitions we were delighted. A glass of procescco was given to each diner which was a lovely welcome. You were also able to bring your own wine etc. I had the surf and turf, rib eye was delicious perfectly cooked medium rare and the popcorn prawns oh my word amazing. My husband had scotch egg with black pudding and muchrooms for starter and followed by chicken enchalada, his plate was cleaned. The staff were so attentive without being overpowering, the candles were lit giving the ambience of the evening a cosy and welcoming feel. Well done everyone, we will continue to support a local business that caters for every diners need.

Have been coming to Dinner Bell for regularly over a long period of time but have noticed a slow decline in standards and service .. tables not being cleared and rather slip shod service from staff.. no condiments .. incorrect spoons .. radio blaring pop music from kitchen .. these are all little things but this lovely wee restaurant is and should be better than this

My husband and I have been here on quite a number of occasions and always found the staff to be really friendly, professional and courteous. In July we had three members of our Canadian family here on holiday for a month and they enjoyed the food and the 'craic' so much they had to have a return visit before they returned home. When my husband and I had lunch today, we were able to relate how our Canadian family loved their experiences in The Dinner Bell. Today I had the best mushroom and chicken soup I have ever tasted and my husband, who loves his Ulster fries told Sam, one of the chefs, that this was the best place he had been to in Donaghadee, and beyond, for a seriously good and perfectly cooked fry. Beautiful surroundings and an even more beautiful lunch - a simple soup and toasted sandwich combo but it couldn’t have been tastier! I didn’t realise the soup of the day was broccoli and Stilton until it arrived and I hate both those things so I wouldn’t have ordered it had I known, but it was a revelation, a taste sensation! Also very friendly and attentive staff, so all in all, excellent.

I honestly don't know where to start. I was looking for a beautiful location to celebrated my friends hen party. I came across this little diamond that ticked all the boxes. When i first contacted the Dinner Bell and found out that they do private functions i was delighted. Nothing at all was too much, the staff went above and beyond what was expected. I honestly can't thank them enough for making our day/night simply amazing. The food was fantastic and the homemade sausage rolls are a must :-) The location is outstanding with the beautiful hidden gardens. Thank you so much for having us. We had a surprise birthday party for my auntie here and the guys couldn't have been more accommodating!!! I visited a few times before to plan and on the day, we were allowed in to decorate before also. The venue is perfect, loads of space, beautiful gardens and the food was amazing!!!! In fact, my husband who is a chef, talked about the sausage rolls endlessly afterwards!!!! Staff are so friendly too!!! Would 1000% recommend!!!!

Came for breakfast. Saw the little challenge tucked away and just had to try it, my wife not so keen on me doing it, but when did that ever stop anybody.😊 The breakfast was phenomenal. Staff were great, service fantastic and the food out of this world. Definitely a locally sourced black pudding, not your standard supermarket purchase. Definitely going again.

This was my second visit to The Dinner Bell. I’m not from the area but we called in once before when we were in the area for a football match and loved it so we were excited to be able to come back today when we had another football match nearby. Food is so good, staff are amazing and so welcoming and friendly, lovely setting and quick service. Kids menu is very good my kids love the pancakes bacon and maple syrup, soup of the day was tomato and I have never had a nicer tomato soup!! I can’t speak highly enough of this place and hope football fixtures bring us back again soon ⚽️😃👍

Stopped in for lunch today before the school pickup!!! I had one of the specials , lasagna loaded fries & mum had the chill chicken noodles stir fry. We both thoroughly enjoyed our meals and left the premises to full for any traybakes. Our server was very polite & even shared a joke or 2 with us, will definitely call again!!

Look no further for a delicious and filling Ulster Fry with all the trimmings. We were warmly welcomed by the staff and enjoyed exploring the secret walled garden after breakfast.

The food, service, price were all 5 star. Excellent will be back. I had goujons with salad and chips. My friend had lasagne, chips, salad and garlic bread. We both had lattes with carmel square. Great portion sizes too and all for under £24.

Take away afternoon tea!My friend and I decided to order a take away box for 2 for £15 we had sandwiches, scones, rocky roads and cake! It was beautiful and we were provided with jam butter etc! It was a beautiful treat would highly recommend!

I phoned and ordered lunch today. Called 10 minutes later and collected my food. It was delicious. The hot dog was amazing, chips excellent, food well presented, sandwich and salad fresh. The staff were friendly and the food was well priced. I will be back again as a regular customer I hope.

We were very glad to see the Dinner Bell offering breakfasts during the current situation. We thoroughly enjoyed small fry and poached eggs with bacon. Think this could be a weekend treat every week. Washed down with excellent coffee.

My son and I had dinner at the Dinner Bell today. The food was really lovely....I had lasagna which was very tasty and my son had turkey with all the trimmings ( only thing missing was stuffing). The carrot cake was yummy. The restaurant is very bright and inviting. There is a great garden. It will be super to relax in during the summer months. A really relaxing, welcoming restaurant.....well worth a visit. You will want to go back.....definitely.

I really like restaurants like the dinner bell, simple food done well. If you are looking something hearty on a cold winters day the dinner bell bistro have a great menu that has something for everyone. Myself and my dad visited recently for a lovely Ulster fry Which was clean ,not greasy and well presented with a sprig of basil to dress it. Other time’s I have been it has always been consistently good. I would definitely recommend for daytime dining in the Donaghadee area.

Called in today for coffee and scones. The staff as always are friendly and helpful. My neighbour and I had the filter coffee with hot milk , it was lovely, just hit the spot on this very cold morning. My husband had cappuccino which got full marks. Scones were delicious as usual.
