Best ice cream in UK. And one of the best ice cream in Europe. Nothing more to say really - it is that simple. If you like and chase good quality food products you should make that effort and go to Chagford to try their ice cream. The village is also a nice spot to go to. It is located on top of a hill.

Holy mother!!! I didn't expect an ice-cream parlour in a small village to be this gorgeous. Nice, rich, and creamy. The hazelnut was especially delicious. A must visit in Chagford.

As tourists on holiday and visiting Chagford for some lunch, we spotted this dairy and couldn't resist. So glad that we stopped in and our party of 5 all had double scoops in a variety of flavours. All of them delicious, but I thoroughly recommend the chocolate and honeycomb flavours. Best ice cream I've had in a long time. They also have a fabulous cheese deli counter which we made a mental note to come back to and stock up before leaving the area. Great find in a lovely village.

Admittedly, we just stopped in for ice cream and cheese, but these are good indicators of the quality of the place. Perhaps the best ice cream we had on the whole 3-week trip - dense, well-flavored. I tend to be a traditionalist (read: less "stuff" in the ice cream, more good, basic flavors. Cookies, M & Ms, etc. are distracting debris in my book.) The coffee flavor was outstanding. My husband, the sorbet fan, loved the flavors. Also packed to take home from the freezer. We also got some cheese from the well-stocked case (stilton, cheddar, unique vaieties...) The breads, bakery and deli look very good. Pre-made meringues can make you look like a dessert genius if you take them home for your dinner party. Tables inside. The building is on the square with benches if you'd prefer to be outside. Definitely make a stop when touring Dartmoor, or look for their ice creams if they are sold elsewhere (not sure about this.) 'Would love to have this place closer to where we live.

Lovely little dairy shop in the Beautiful Dartmoor village of Chagford. Highly recommend the Honeycomb ice cream. It's full of flavour yet very light. Adds up to our pleasant memory of Dartmoor!

This lovely little shop on the Square in Chagford is a delight. The lady who served us was very charming and helpful. Their bio on this is spot on and adds to the ethos and ambience of Chagford. Lovely stuff on sale.

During our week long stay near Chagford we visited The Devonshire Dairy on a number of occasions initially to purchase local cheese then later to sample a few of the fresh Icecreams made in house which we could eat on our 20min walk back to our cottage. We all had our favourites mine being Peanut Butter Fudge with my wife not venturing further than the Honeycomb as it reminded her of Hokey Pokey from home in New Zealand. On our final evening we purchased a 12 Scoop tub to have back at the cottage and the lovely lady at the dairy lent us a couple of ice packs for the walk home which we returned the following morning. A must visit on any warm day in Changford.

Had a wonderful lunch at The Oxenham. We have eaten here many times and keep coming back because we are never disappointed. The food was exceptional, very good value and the lovely Fran was very welcoming and could not have looked after us any better. I always have the steak because I cant get a better one anywhere else. We will return as soon as we can.

This restaurant was popular, but, being quite small, has CLOSED at this spot, but HAS MOVED to FORE STREET about 300 yards to the East, near the East Okement River, and its name has changed to " The Allotment ", as it uses food all supplied locally. I highly recommend it for a smiley welcome & good wholesome food. Now sells jams & preserves.

Luxurious Stay - We stayed for 2 nights at this beautiful hotel which is modern with a relaxing and homely feel. The rooms were immaculate, our breakfast was waiting for us in the dining room each morning , and was both excellent quality and plentiful. We will definitely recommend and stay again in the future.

Excellent find. We needed a room for one night. Can't find one fault on this little gem. Our Room was very comfortable and extremely clean throughout. We had an evening meal here. Wow! Excellent is an understatement and as for their Beer it was Nye on perfect. The staff were so welcoming and cheerful and really made you feel comfortable. 10/10 Thank you Blue Lion 🦁😍❤️
