The Deli in Caerphilly

We sat outside as we had a bay who needed feeding. This was no problem with the staff and we enjoyed cream teas whilst getting the atmosphere of the town and autumnal sunshine. The prices were fair and the scones fresh although one of the clotted creams was a bit frozen still. They were decorated for Halloween and had some interesting items for sale, such as a bright red letterbox. We will be back.

Outside waiting and text my friend where I was only for the girl to come out with a sandwich board with an attitude of go away from here, ame out the door with is like to say out of the way, shuve off!! I said hi nicely and she ignored me and started moving the outside chairs around and looked annoyed that I was outside waiting, so I didn't even go in. That's really bad service, not even a "hello" or "hi would u like to come sit inside its not great weather out here" so I would say why I was there, awful feeling like ur unwanted and in the way. Disgusting customer service attitude to potential customers. 4 lads went in and came out on the phone saying menu is rubbish let's go spoons 🤣

We loved this little gem of a deli and found Caerphilly Cheese. The sales assistant was so helpful and kind. Lots of lovely gifs and home decor. Highly recommend. Thanks you so much 😊

i was there today and allthough i asked for more sugars the girl who gave them to me no please or thx you looked like everything was an effort for them sorry will not be back.

The wife and I popped out for a little midweek lunch and thought we’d give the Deli ago as we’d not been there for some time. We were not disappointed. Although in these strange times we thought it would be wise to book (how right we were!) and our reserved table was ready for us when we arrived. The Deli still provides a substantial choice of dishes with a regular sandwich/baguette option (with many filling options) as well as an interesting Specials Board. Both my wife and I went for a tasty sounding special; her a turkey, stuffing and cranberry baguette and me a very good chicken quesadilla. Neither of us were disappointed with our choices and I must say that my quesadilla (although a rather messy finger food) was absolutely delicious! Well done The Deli, we will be back again!

We just visited The Deli for the first and last time. It was 3pm on a Friday. The only customers were a lone man and a schoolboy. We ordered our coffees with the young girl behind the counter who looked so miserable and didn’t even smile. We tried to find a seat that was clean but all the tables were grubby. They were not busy so there was no excuse for this! We went to one area and there was food on the tables and chairs and juice on the floor, all other tables had food/ drink residue and it was just awful. Had we not paid for our coffees we would have left. It’s such a shame because it could be such a nice place. You can’t beat service with a smile I’m sorry to say we won’t go back.

After 19 years in Caerphilly finally visited The Deli and what a great experience it was. Cosy inviting environment well presented food and personal service. Veggie brekkie was wonderful and I would recommend visiting this independent cafe as a must. Support local business’ or lose them

We visit this deli regularly for snacks and until today the food has been excellent hence why we came for Sunday breakfast. The breakfast was awful....luke warm...sausages were the worse I have had like cardboard. Toast cold and hard. Make us both feel very ill afterwards.co Shame as was looking forward to it.

Have visited several times before but first time for breakfast...lovely selection especially for anyone who is vegetarian or vegan...perfectly cooked and delicious! This is s gem of a place...just what Caerphilly or any town needs!! Highly recommend!!

Beautifully presented and nice atmosphere in the cafe so don’t waste your time in Costa or Wetherspoons this is much much better!

We wanted somewhere quick to go to for lunch but didn’t want a full meal. Whilst walking past the Deli we decided to pop in. We’re glad we did. The food for our two boys was good (one older and one younger) but the Ploughman’s that both my wife and I had was enormous and delicious. A good selection cheeses, bread, crackers, scotch egg, salad, pickles, the works! Well worth trying!

Had the most amazing chicken and avo salad here one lunch time I came back two days later for breakfast which was also fantastic. Great selection, good quality food and good service. Will be returning again soon

Used The Deli as a meeting point with a college. We spent 2hrs here chatting about the business. The whole experience was a pleasure with all the lovely coffee and cake that's on offer. I wouldn't hesitate to visit again!

Love visiting on a Sunday for their great brunch menu. Lots of choice and it’s all lovely food. Also have had the carrot cake and biscoff cake which are amazing!! The paninis are lovely too

We have been here on a couple of occasions. Pleasant seating area with comfy sofas and tables and chairs. Good range of hot drinks, also snacks and meals. Nice atmosphere.

I have been visiting the Deli on and off since it opened some years ago. Coffee is always good and nice to sit down and relax with a tea cake. Home made cakes are great as are the sandwiches

Went for breakfast; best yet. They make good quality food which is worth the wait. Isn't rushed and you can tell. Worth every minute! Lovely deli selection of their new scotch eggs! Deli-sh! Can't wait to come back.

I have been meaning to try out this cafe for a while and finally made it - I wasn't disappointed. Lovely atmosphere with friendly staff. Did indeed get a fantastic coffee and a huge slice of delicious red velvet cake - stunning. I would strongly recommend a visit and I plan on bringing my husband and child for breakfast which also looks amazing with some excellent alternatives too.

Great breakfasts. They do a range of full breakfasts and smaller dishes such as eggs benedict etc. Also great coffee! No where else really like it in the area so was perfect.

I've tried a few times to get in, and have always been to early so aim for 9am onwards.

Recommended to go here as had never been. What a fantastic surprise!

I have visited here previously but only had coffee and cake. Today I had the small breakfast which was excellent value, not only was it nicely presented, but the produce served was good quality, the bacon and sausage were really tasty. Would certainly return.

My daughter treated me to lunch here,the food is unbelievable ,best deli ever, very happy atmosphere,with excellent service, great pot of tea,very reasonably priced

Loads of food and sooo tasty. Homemade cakes, best carrot cake I’ve ever had. All four of us, all adults, had a box to take ‘leftovers’ 😃 Reasonably priced. Parking, bit of a walk unless you’re lucky enough to find a spot in the street.

Brilliant tasty menu, fantastic coffee, shakes and cakes, helpful and friendly staff. Definitely one of the best places to eat in Caerphilly

Visited here a few times with friends from out of town as it is only a short walk from my house. Service is always excellent and the Deli does an superb job of providing a welcoming atmosphere.

In all fairness everything you’d expect from a dine in or out deli. Quirky venue, very clean and well presented. Beautiful food and drink using quality ingredients. Beautiful breakfasts Great sandwiches and toasted panini. Good service and quick turnaround. Can only recommend you try

Lovely deli with tasty food. I love the blue cheese icecream that comes with the salad as a dressing. Great portions. Friendly staff but don't visit if you're in a hurry.

Lovely coffee and cake. Also have had panini and jacket potatoes which are very tasty and good value for money. The nicest place for lunch in Caerphilly town - in my opinion!

I live locally and love this cafe. Lovely rustic homely feel. Food is fresh and delicious. They even do a skinny full english breakfast if you are trying to watch the pounds. Best salad i have had anywhere for a while. Not just ur standard lettuce, tom, cuc n onion. Variety of tasty salads homemade and piled high. Well worth a visit :)

Visited the deli today for the first time. The deli had a lovely relaxed and cosy feel! We ordered a ploughman's lunch and we weren't disappointed! Better than any ploughman's I had for a long while.

what a lovely business, based int he heart of Caerphilly town, the Deli is a local run business, serves everything you would expect form a deli, along with amazing coffee!!

This is a perfect little cafe down a side street in Caerphilly, the women in here are more than friendly and the food is freshly prepared at all times. This little cafe also offers Slimming World options which is a huge hit with the women I go to Slimming World with. Thumbs up to this cafe, it is exactly what we need in Caerphilly, not all these big chain brands.

Nice place to stop for a coffee. A lot nicer than the chain cafe's. I am keen to visit again to try some of the food that that have on offer.

Heard about this place on trip advisor and had to go. Great place for food and great for the family. Great service and great staff.

Better than costa! The deli has a very relaxed vibe with comfy chairs, wonderfully hot coffee and big windows to watch the world go by. I have visited here twice and every experience has been pleasant, the staff are polite and helpful and the cakes are homemade, yum yum! Prices are fair and I'll recommend to all my friends and family!

Visited for lunch but only received part of what I ordered . Assistant seemed a bit doubtful when I ordered some extra deli items so it didn't surprise me in a way when they didn't come with my order . Maybe I just caught them on an off day . Not sure I'd go back though .

Every time I meet someone in Caerphilly I always recommend this place, its tucked away at the top of town and although its small, it always pleases. Staff are friendly and always helpful, food is very nice but expensive when you compare salad bars in the area at places such as, subway and Morrison's but for a small local company its expected. Coffee is fantastic and the atmosphere is really nice, quirky design and comfortable chairs! would highly recommend.

This coffee shop is a bit out of the way, being on a side street in Caerphilly. However, the coffee was good and the carrot cake was excellent. The ambiance was very pleasant too. We looked at the menu and thought the prices were very fair. Another customer was served poached eggs and beans and it looked very tasty and well presented. One thing did put us off before we even entered the cafe - it only has a 2 star food standard rating. Everything looked clean and tidy, so it is a shame that The Deli doesn't up its game and get 5 stars - not difficult to get at all.

Thank you so much for hosting 15 of us for afternoon tea. We had such a lovely time and the food was simply delicious, especially the carrot cake which was so tasty! We all had an unforgettable experience and I would highly recommend this place to anyone. A massive thank you for also catering to all our dietary requirements, it was greatly appreciated! Enjoyed lunch at The Deli Cafe today. It was the first time here. Lovely coffee for me and tea for my husband. I ate a baked potatoe with tuna & coleslaw, delicious, whilst my husband had flatbread with falafel, humus and red pepper. We'll be sure to visit again.

My friend and I used the visit The Deli about once a month for lunch as we've always had a welcoming reception and the food was good. However on our last visit my friend ordered a ploughmans and the cheese was covered in mould! She did send it back and a new one was brought but they weren't exactly apologetic or even offer her a free coffee. Another lack of customer service and we won't be returning there again to eat...

We enjoyed a lovely lunch at this great Deli on Saturday during a visit to Caerphilly. All staff & owner were extremely friendly & helpful. We ordered a chicken jalfrezi baguette with salad and a tuna & cheese panini. Both were well presented, fresh, plentiful and delicious. The coffee was lovely too. All in all a great lunch and we would return in a heartbeat. Thank you all at The Deli. Highly recommended.

What a treat of a find. Close to train station and shops.

Coffee is lovely, roasted locally in South Wales. Generous size cups, biscuit. Price fair! Home cooked foods, lovely looking homemade cakes, just started trying them and can recommend the chocolate and raspberry brownie. Deli type snacks, always look nice and taste yummy. Cosy and comfortable with lovely staff - that's always a bonus. Family friendly as well.

Lovely friendly place . Good food good value for money. Nothing was too much trouble although could not get an omelette after 11.30. However manager did say she would change this for future visits - excellent!!!

Colleagues and myself often stop off at this cafe during our lunch break for a coffee and cake. The surroundings are relaxed and pretty. The staff are always polite and helpful. A few of us decided to try the festive afternoon tea, which was fantastic! The sandwiches were fresh and plentiful. The cakes covered the top two tires and were varied and very very good. One of my friends is gluten free, which was catered for and she had a lovely separate cake stand. It was so good, I returned and bought a voucher for family to have afternoon tea!

We visited The Deli and was totally overwhelmed by the quality of food and the choices on offer. We had a beautiful full English cooked breakfast and we also bought a lovely piece of carrot cake to take home. The staff were very polite and the service was very fast, if you're looking for quality at very reasonable prices then The Deli is well worth a visit.

Visited this cafe for a coffee but ended up ordering a panini & slice of coffee cake. Delish. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The cafe had been decorated for Halloween and the whole ambience was lovely. Would defo recommend a visit to this cafe & look forward to a return visit.
