Very nice place. Staff friendly. Good prices for drink.

We recently visited The Dalesman, a charming family-owned pub in Leeds, on a Saturday with friends who live nearby. The atmosphere was lively and welcoming, filled with friendly people which added to the overall enjoyment of our visit. The England win in the quarter-final on that day added an extra layer of joy to our celebration, making our visit even more memorable. During our time there, we indulged in a variety of drinks and nibbles. The food was exceptional – each dish seemed to have a touch of love and care in its preparation. The flavors were so captivating that we were completely immersed in the dining experience, forgetting to take photos until we noticed our empty and clean plates! We had few delicious items including duck sausage rolls, nachos, spicy chicken wings, and chicken goujons. Each dish was cooked to perfection, leaving us wanting more. The Dalesman is definitely a place we'd love to visit again on our next trip to Leeds. The combination of great atmosphere, friendly service, delectable food, and the added excitement of England's victory makes it a standout spot for a memorable outing.

Nice ambience, though a little pricey place

I went into this establishment for the first time yesterday and I’ll begin my journey of what happened here. Firstly I called up and spoke to a gentleman called Steve, I’m not sure if he is the landlord but he is a very pleasant chap. I explained that I was a Manchester City fan and asked if there is any rules against wearing flags etc on you. I asked this because you have to respect the fact that we are in Leeds not Manchester and I didn’t want to go out and offend. Steve said it was allowed but did say I should expect some banter in which was understandable. I arrived within 30 minutes all dressed up with flags wrapped around me ready for the match (Champions league final) and outside there was a few people with Leeds United top on. They didn’t have the banter but they was all saying they hoped Manchester City win & they was very friendly. Inside there was a wonderful atmosphere with many fans from different teams as far as Scotland and Brighton. I ordered my first drink and the lovely lady who served me was amazing. I asked her if the price was right because it come in cheaper then expected. I watched the game and the staff as well as the customers were amazing, there was even entertainment in the other lounge with karaoke. I was tempted but I was not drunk enough lol. Overall after my long story I’d love to say to the staff and customers that you are amazing. I am proud to call this place my new local having just moved in the area. We will march on together always! 💙💛🤍💙

First visit for several years. It was early afternoon when I went so it was very quiet (only to be expected), got busier when I left after a couple of pleasant hours.

Ah the dalesman. Its had a refreshing refurb and is a fine enough pub, lovely place for a bit of grub with the kids and a bit of pub grub with the lads if you know what I mean. Great kids area, great dogs area, a room for eating and drinking and a room for drinking and pool. Classic lads pub affair.

Great chips and fab kids play area. Quite sweary inside when we visited so tricky with taking children to eat indoors. There was also someone vaping inside which I imagine isn't meant to happen?

Not sure why you have the general menu on your website when it isn't available! Looked at the menu online so decided to pay a visit to be greeted by a paper menu where everything came with chips and peas except the usual boring Sunday lunch! When I asked bar staff why you have this menu on the website she replied that it's not her who does the website so take it up with management!!! Bad attitude and unprofessional response! Try smiling!!! By 2.30 I had seen less children in a nursery!

Food was just like Mothers cooking fantastic friendly staff hood service.

Poor service waited over a hour for food and not even been served had to go else where utterly disgusting and bar staff rude as anything what a joke this place is since re opening from lockdown I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE AT ALL!!!!!

Poor service. Ordered drinks, was offered a food menu and then went to place our order only to be told that no more food was being served. This has happened numerous times recently. The service here was impeccable before but is slowly declining.

Very good food served quickly and with help, our crew of elderly folk were well taken care of. Very clean, good tv's, comfortable atmosphere, bright and good seating and access. Spot on. Oh, significant parking.

Brilliant food very delicious. Staff were very helpful and understanding. Had a few drunks in during our meal and they apologised many times over and gave us discount for the troubles.

Went for the festive meal on the 14/12/19, couple of people had a burger and it was barely luke warm, i had the turkey, such a disappointment, shop bought frozen roast potatoes, cold mashed potatoes, ice cold sprouts that were still very crunchy, 2 extremely small pieces of stuffing and burnt yorkshire pudding (yes just 1), and from the looks of the other 8 or so turkey dinners all the Yorkshire puddings was burnt. Nice lookong pub shame about the food

We loved are night in the dalesman. This pub has been a great part of my life. Untill riff raff started drinking there. My dad favorate dinner time drink. Always someone to take him home. Well done to the New managers and staff. Xxx

Great food .. Good fun and food

Nice local pub with decent beer and friendly staff the food was good honest pub grub, enjoy, they now serve breakfast which I tried and it was great for price.

Went in today (Sunday 3rd November) and I must say The Sunday Roast is beautiful! Everything cooked to perfection! Vast improvement on the last time I was there. Thank you to the management, runners, bar staff and the Chef!

Excellent burgers reasonable price

The place is worth a visit. The refurbishment has done the place a world of good. Food is nice especially the Sunday dinners. Nice little play area outside for kids to enjoy while you enjoy a drink.

Lovely refurbishment . Have known this pub for years as my family live locally. Went in for some food and sat in the beer garden with our granddaughter.The food was very nice and staff were pleasant .The only thing that let it down were lots of cigarette ends in the grass and the grass was also rather long which seemed to make it a little unpleasant when walking on them with young children around ....and there were a lot of cigarette ends not just a few. However the atmosphere and the play area will make us return for another visit .

Firstly the refurbishment is amazing!! Just had food here with my family and it was lovely. Kids enjoyed it also. The staff are very nice and go out of their way to ensure a good experience. Play area outside is nice for the kids too. Will definitely be making this our new local from now. Thanks Dalesman

Great venue, great live music, good beer and friendly staff

Visited the newly refuribish dalesman a few times in the last month and on both occasions had lovely food and the staff was very friendly nothing was too much trouble , will be visiting again very soon.

Food perfect, cod n chips cod was huge and batter beautiful, tartare sauce there was actually enough, chips and peas fine and loads of salt vinegar and ketchup available. Mac n cheese my daughter had was lovely as well. Thank you for friendly service and being brill xx

My husband food was burnt and the service wasnt great

I couldn't believe it was the same pub after the refurb! It's beautiful inside and the good was spot on! I like that they sell 0%alcohol aswell! The children's play area is a fantastic idea

Sunday lunch a bit expensive no other choice on a Sunday only Sunday dinners could do with more menu choice in case a dinner is not what you want looking for light lunch.

Nicely done out food was a bit disappointing gravy had no onions in it no chips with all day breakfast steak sandwich not done how it was asked for. Got to consider it's not been open long so give it time

Nice place. Great food. The steak and ale pie was delicious. New play area for the kids too with loads of outdoor seating now. A vast improvement Staff are helpful Good range of drinks available 5 stars

The pub has just been refurbished & it's really nice ,the problem is some of the customers, the usual council estate chavs with there pit bulls , get rid of these & you will have a decent pub.

A friendly welcome. The local's are exceptionally friendly. The bar staff are great and on certain night's they have live music / bingo etc. Check it out and make your own view. I will be calling in again.

Top landlord brill place to chill

The Dalesman is a well kept well run local to me. Karl the landlord is an especially nice gentleman and I'm sure his staff are well chosen. Its clean,tidy and not very loud music wise. The drinks are reasonably priced and if preferred tea or coffee is available. The function room looked delightful when I was in recently as it was to be used as a wedding reception the following day. I would have no problem in suggesting this venue for this type of occasion and children are welcome as the landlord holds fun days on a bank holiday Great stuff Karl!!!

Nice pub not had any food though

Held my sons 7th bday here today. The rooms are huge, staff are so friendly and Karl the owner would do anything to help. Kids and adults both happy! Will defiantly be using the Dalesman again!!
