Friendly staff, homely atmosphere and delicious battery cod. The fish was delicately cooked and retained its sweet subtle flavour. It’s the best fish I’ve had in a long time. Highly recommend.

We ate here yesterday, we sat in so it was a little extra which you expect. I had large chicken donor , chips, salad and a drink. My wife had 1/4 burger, chips and drink for £27, huge portions as well. The only downside is that the dine menu is limited and doesn’t have as many great offers like the take away menu.

Always order from Crown, recommend highly. Have eaten in their restaurant many times as well but can't get up there like I used to, so am pleased I can order delivery.

I was in London visiting family (I'm from the Netherlands) and I visited this shop. very nice people and very helpful. They even made a Dutch style kebab dish for me.

Cod is great, crispy batter perfectly done. Why do you let yourselves down with the chips? They are awful. Old and dried out, full of bits of hard dried out tiny chips as well. Please try harder with the chips.

have a takeaway once a week from here but lately chip portions have got smaller and we use to get sauces and maynaisse with orders but last 2 times there has been none. not sure what's happening.

The only reason for not a 5 star is because processed vegetable oil is used instead of traditional beef dripping. Still, the food was wonderful and the portions HUGE! Was only able to eat around half. The staff is ever so friendly. The toilet really needs doing but we're here for the food so gave that one a pass.

Food was cold. Salad cost &250 & only had half slice of cucumber, half slice of tomato, some onions and a little bit of purple cabbage. Not value for money. No drinks included in the meals. Very disappointing

Overcooked fish. Dry saveloy that was so overcooked that it had become hard. And here I am about eight hours after eating what I could force down and I'm starting to feel really nauseous. Shocking experience.

had to explain to the driver that he needs to drive to my door not 10 minutes down the road , ordered large chips nearly a £5 and it wasn't even a standard portion terrible!

We were looking for a place to try the legendary fish and chips, he caught us leaving the store on platform 9¾, and the reviews were very good. The staff is super attentive and friendly and if you ask them, if the reviews don't lie, the fish is of quality and very good, at an affordable price, the quantities are huge for the price, they deserve all the stars that I can put in this review.

get a takeaway from crown fish and chip shop once a week. tonight had chicken burger and quarter lb with chips. usually we can share the chips but tonight there was hardly any chips. also salad was very wet made buns soggy. 1st time this has happened. can you tell me why.

Excellent and authentic chicken, and the price is extremely low compared to the amount and quality of food I received. I ordered the chicken doner meal deal, but I would recommend anything on the menu, because it is sure to be fresh and delicious! Service was also quick and the staff is very kind.

This was a special order because I hadn’t eaten since 6am because I had an operation and by the time I went to the ward there was nothing for me to eat. I called the only restaurant I could rely on to provide cutlery. They were so good to me and so was Darren the driver who informed me his ETA and made sure the right nurse collected my order from reception. Many thanks to Crown and Darren from Just Eat. ♥️♥️

I had the rock and chips and my partner had cod and chips and i must say it was the best fish we've had in a long time. The rock was very tasty and fresh and big portions, and same for the cod. We will definitely be using the crown fish bar again next time we have fish and chips.

We have been coming here on and off for over a decade. The food is decent but today we had a disappointing experience, the owner is not transparent on the prices when eating in and it differs from what is displayed on the board, they seem to offer 4 different prices, the window stickers, the menu board, the restaurant sheet and a made up price If you want something which they have isnt on the menu. If you don't charge me fairly or are not transparent with the prices, I'll pay if once and you now lose a customer forever. It's a shame as it used to be so good!

The guy is trying to scam us by charging extra £2.50 if we dine in. Ridiculous. Its not even a restaurant at all. Just a decent street fish & chip cafe. Nevertheless we still dine in there even though we said it for take away.

The f&c are still good quality but portions have shrunk significantly. I ordered large haddock and large chips and together they didn’t even fill 1 box. A year ago the same order would come in 2 separate boxes of the same size as this (and before you ask they’ve put up prices). Large chips are a smaller portion than standard size used to be. This was the 2nd time this has happened. The 1st time I thought it a blip but perhaps it wasn’t. I’ll hesitate next time, a pity as the Crown was my go-to.

Great chippy located in chapel market. Delicious cod and chips. Guy behind the counter was friendly and served me in a timely manner and food was piping hot.

The fish and chips are perfect. Cooked to order, hearty and quick. I recommend the Hadock which is tender and tasty.

At this price point you can’t expect much better food. Used batter does not contain beer so everything is halal as well which is great.

Meal doesn’t come with chips, doner meat looked like scraps and the portions were tiny but still charge you £9.20!

Normally the order is here early or at least on time but tonight it took an hour and a half when I needed it ASAP. This is a one-off. They are usually very good. Don't be put off by this one-off.

Worst restaurant in the town normally they close 9pm as they mentioned on web we went there 8pm but didn't allow us to eat in , without asking they packed our food even we hv enough walking distance.when we asked for that they didn't accept any apologize rather than rude behaviour...

Not the fanciest type of restaurant but has the best fish and chips and friendliest staff!! We came in 15 mins before closing hours on Christmas eve and they still welcomed us warmly. They have a great variety of fish and sauce served in a huge portion. Definitely recommended if you are looking for a great experience of fish and chip in 🇬🇧👍🏻

Order from here weekly but tonight was disappointed very few chips and wasn't as hot as could have been.

Been a local for many years and always enjoyed the food. However used the toilets for the first time and the disgusting dirty condition confirmed I won’t be going back ever! How are the staff using those toilets let alone the customer; grime built up from at least 2 or more weeks of not cleaning. Your toilets should be cleaned on a daily basis, felt more dirty coming out then going in. Makes me sick thinking about it

Popped in for a large fish and chips but there was a wait for fish. The man behind the counter said if I was in a rush he could make me a ‘feast’ from what was already cooked. We got two small pieces of fish and an assortment of fried chicken and chips for a tenner. Top customer service and we’ll be back for a large fish and chips when we have a little more time!

Not worth it at all unfortunately. The donor is disgusting, no flavour whatsoever and drowning in oil. They are so SO stingy on portions and will literally give you a few mouthfuls meals for ridiculous prices. Nothing is fresh not even the salad. They do not provide proper toppings and will ignore your notes completely about your order. To top it off, my food was leaked when it came because they didn't want to put the food away from the cold drink???? So it arrived like mush. This place is a joke.

Good quality fish & chip shop, menu has a good selection of food, and the staff are always friendly and helpful. This is my local and I have been coming here for many years. Occasionally eating in, but usually for takeaways. I can recommend this eatery without reservation. Enjoy.

Good delivery and excellent food

I live in the area so it has become my go-to kebab place. I only order lamb doner, which is super tasty, and the garlic sauce delicious. I haven't tried any other dishes but the fried chicken looks yummy. My only problem with the place is that they sell Pepsi instead of Cocacola.

Delicious cod and chips in a classic chippy setting. Friendly and efficient owners who really know how to make a good fish and chip dinner. My cod was big and thick, well battered. Fresh cut chips.

Your time indicated on your tracking stated driver was at restaurant when he wasn't. I called venue who informed me that they had thrown away original order due to no driver had shown and therefore had to prepare another order for health and safety reasons. Driver delivered 2 hours after I had placed order. I would like a refund on my order for incorrect information you provided on your tracking application.
