A perfectly decent fish and chips far from the tourist traps of London. The place doesn't look like much but is very pleasant, no crowds and no hubbub. A decent kitchen for the price, it's not luxury but it's more than enough. I recommend if you are passing through

Announcing that it closes at 9 p.m., we show up at 7:20 p.m., people are having dinner and we are told that they are closed. Who are we kidding? Although recommended by a local, we will go elsewhere and do not recommend this experience. / following the establishment’s response You must have the wrong person because we did not eat in your restaurant. You didn’t offer us takeout, the girl just said “Sorry, we’re closed. »

Derek and Angelika, the staff serving us, were very polite and helpful. Fish & Chips were really good. The cheese cake not!

I popped in (spur of the moment thing) Wed (11th Dec). Really enjoyed the Haddock, fresh, good portions and reasonably priced. It was quite busy but I arrived just before a large party descended, despite this, service was attentive. Will definitely return.

I bought a large fish an chips from this place the service was very good but I paid £27 for basically for 2 small cods and chips that’s ridiculous wouldn’t recommend shop if your on a budget and also the fish was very raw from the inside threw the food away I only gave 3 stars for the chips that’s probably the best chips I’ve had but for the fish I would say the worst !

Came here as part of a coach trip. Food hot and arrived promptly, but appeared to be frozen fish and chips, tasted bland. Portions ok in size. What you'd expect from a restaurant chain. No decaffeinated options for hot or cold drinks which was disappointing. Service good .

A pleasant fish and chippery with ample seating. The food is delicious and freshly cooked. There is a chippy if you want to take away. Highly recommended.

I’m so glad I stopped here! I had fish and chips and a meat pie left for my main English dishes I wanted to try, and this place popped up. I told the lady what I was looking for and she said she’d do the fish and chips and add what we meat pie I wanted. I asked for her suggestion and she said the minced meat and onion, and it sounded good to me. When the food came out, it looked amazing. The breading on the fish was light and crispy, and the fish was flaky and delicious. The chips (fries for my fellow Americans) were thick cut and crispy. The meat pie was my favorite. The way the bake it in the dough, and the perfect texture offset by the flavorful filling was just fantastic. I also ordered their baby squid as a recommended appetizer and it was meh. Not worth the price. Just chewy and flavorless. My main problem overall is the lack of seasoning. I think it’s a general English thing, but the food just doesn’t have seasoning on it. I was told later by a couple friends that you add your own salt and pepper to taste. I’m Hispanic and I’m used to the core 4 being in almost all dishes (aside from additional seasonings), onion powder, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. But the food was cooked to perfection and delicious (except the squid, not worth the cost). Definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for meat pies or fish and chips!

I’ve been coming to this Kennedy’s for a long time now 10 years plus and think it’s the best chips in London having sampled many different ones from all over. I visited today and was blown away by how nice the chips were, so potatoey and non greasy. They simply were delicious and I had to call them to tell them. Also, the staff are always polite and friendly and provide speedy service. Thank you Kennedy’s 🙏🏼👏🏼

It is a very good place to eat a menu of the day. They have a vegetarian option, a Katsu that you can choose with Halloumi and it is GREAT. The price is good, there is a discount if you take it to go. I would return!

Fish and chips are a low-priced food, so it seems more cost-effective to choose a local restaurant that is rustic but popular in the area rather than eating it at a fancy restaurant. They say fried shoes are delicious, but I had fried fish and potatoes, so they couldn't be delicious haha. But then again, a restaurant that doesn't taste good is really bad, but this restaurant has delicious portions and the cod is fried very deliciously, so I enjoyed it. Even if I ordered the regular size, it was too big, but other people even ate one large size by themselves. Anyway, it was a delicious and great meal😁!

Chips and fish was fresh 😋 staffs was nice, always have a friendly face. Quick on service, uniform clean, fingers nails short and clean. Counter top clean. Table and chairs always clean so you can sit to wait for your foods 😋 or eat in. Menu easy to read for what you want to eat. From small portions to extra large. Takes card or cash.

My 95 year old mother and I are both disabled and tried ordering a portion of chips from Kennedy's Goswel Road via Deliveroo.... Kennedy's catagorically refused to fulfil our order because we dared to complain more than once about the chips we'd received in the past.... What we received on more than one occasion contained many tiny dregs less than one inch in length and several had black spots which had to be discarded, so why not complain.... It was very late and Kennedy's is nearby which is why we placed the order.....Order was cancelled and Instead, ordered from an alternative restaurant and was completely satisfied....Also discovered much to my surprise, Kennedy's Food Standards Agency hygiene rating is only 3 out of 5 which would have been a deal breaker had we known!!!...

I ordered on Too Good To Go 3 hours before collection time. At the time of ordering there were 5 bags left, when I checked back to get the code there were 2 left. Collection time was 20:45, I arrived at 20:50. Once I got there I was told there was only saveloy, leek pie and cheese and onion pastry left, so I said "I'll take the saveloy please", I was handed the saveloy and expected the chips to come next, nope! I was told there's no chips left... Excuse me? You knew you sold the bags from the app and people would be arriving to collect, why the hell did you not put enough chips aside for the people you knew would be coming!? Once I expressed my annoyance I was told I would be given "free chips the following day", it's no bloody good the following day is it!?!. The surprise bag is suppose to be the value of £7, how the hell does saveloy amount to that! I ordered this for my dinner and that's what I'm handed from a CHIP SHOP! ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS. It was ordered well in advance for you to make sure there was enough. I will not be returning.

I went there because the ratings for fish and chips were good, but maybe because it's a local restaurant, people kept coming in and getting takeout even when I was there. The turnover rate was good, so even though it was taken out of the display case, the fries were freshly fried and crispy. In the UK, they only season with salt and vinegar, so it seems like it's good to enjoy the natural taste of fried food... but as a Korean who likes to eat everything soaked in sauce, oh! Ketchup! ah! Tartare! It's a taste that makes you shout out...^^ The reason why I fell in love with fish and chips was because the sweet fish and chips I tried at a Hawaiian restaurant in Jeju Island were so delicious, and now that I eat fish and chips in my hometown, ah! I am Korean after all! I guess I have to go to Jeju Island again! I wanted to. Be sure to try the authentic fish and chips here, and try the Dalgogi fish and chips from Jeju Island. And please answer which is tastier ^^^

Been coming here about once a month either for fish and chips or 2g2g. Friendly staff, have been happy with the visit every time except once. Love their chips.

We had one of the best Fish and Chips in a very nice and clean fish restaurant with very friendly and chatty staff. A restaurant with a long history and experience how to bring a really fresh and good Fish and Chips on the plate - great.

I have been coming to this place for a long time. They serve some of the best fish and chips in London in my opinion! You can sit in, takeaway or get a delivery. The restaurant is lovely to sit in, though it can get very busy with coach tours and cab drivers. The staff are lovely, the food is really nice and the portions are generous. I visit regularly and I still love it though there has been some changes to the menu and some of my favourite dishes are no longer there. Would definitely recommend.

First time to London. Of course we had to try fish n chips. It was great. Large filet and chips. Hard to find any place open on a Sunday evening.

I had the most delicious, authentic fish and chips in London. The recommended draft beer and white wine were delicious. The fish was fried at 350 degrees, and the secret ingredient was dark beer, which made it crispy. The best! Eating it with vinegar is low in calories and delicious. I gave in to my desire and ate the tartar sauce at the end.

A friend and I were walking down Goswell road after my friend had finished doing her business at the Indian Embassy. We were feeling a bit hungry as neither of us had any breakfast, looking for some where to eat we saw a fish & chip shop. She wanted a takeaway, but no it was not just a takeaway but also a fish restaurant when I saw the beautifully interior of the restaurant I just wanted to eat there. I fell in love instantly, the beautiful chandeliers on the ceiling gave it a charm of days gone by. This told me I was somewhere special, so much attention to detail. Everthing was on point from the meal to the service to which was exceptionally good. There is a beautiful Japanese member of staff, so polite, this explained the attention to detail, the calm feeling The menu is quite varied. For a starter I had prawn cocktail & she had a small fish & chips, but it looked so good I had that as well, plus the traditional cup of of tea. I have eaten in many places, but this is the Creme Del Creme of Fish restaurants. Who would have thought that there was such a treasure so near. It a place that you can take your first date who wouldn't be impressed. Have a business lunch, friends & family.

Had a lovely meal here tonight- grilled skate with brown butter sauce and chips, steak and kidney pie w mash and a nice very reasonably priced bottle of pinot Grigio. Charming attentive service. And a sparkling collection of crystal chandeliers!!

Food was pretty decent. Medium score as I do think the price for chicken fillet and chips is too much. And needs more/proper salad with it considering the price. Wish the curry sauce was more like chip shop curry sauce however and not Chinese. Thank you!

We had a great dinner at Kennedy's yesterday with a group of 44. The food and the service was great! It's hard to serve food to such a big group but the staff did a fantastic job! I really recommend this restaurant for having Fish & Chips with a large group.

The fish was lovely but the chips were flavourless and rock hard. I couldn't decide if they were overcooked or stale. The poor quality of the chips really spoilt the meal.

A fantastic Fish and Chip lunch on 17th Jan 2024.The meal was a good portion of fresh, well cooked, beautifully presented and served Cod and Chips (other options available) with Apple Pie and Custard for desert and a mug of tea. Staff were, friendly and helpful. Beautifully decorated resturant, lovely and clean (loos as well) excellent wine at a very reasonable price. All part of our Eastons Coach Trip to the Postal Museum. Really hope our future trips enable a return visit to Kennedys

Very nice, clean fish restaurant. Has an old fashioned look of a "proper London posh chippy" There is a fish and Chips take away adjoining. The staff was welcoming, friendly and chatty. There was plenty of choice for seating. We ordered pie, chips and gravy and grilled Rock fish, potatoes and vegetables. The pie and chips was a good portion and very tasty. The grilled fish- I chose rock and it came with a choice of mash, new potatoes or chips I chose new potatoes. The fish was well cooked and seasoned, the portion was plenty. The restaurant has a small selection of alcoholic drinks, I saw Rum, Vodka, Gin, Desirono. We had rum and coke and gin and tonic. It was a really nice meal and we'll priced. We enjoyed our meals and would definitely visit again.

Super delicious fish and chips shop! I have seen tour buses parked at the door several times before. After searching online, I found out that they are a restaurant where tour groups often bring food. Today I finally found the opportunity to eat there, and the result was better than expected! ! The waiters are very friendly and the environment is very clean and comfortable. The fried fish is rich in gravy and the fries are just right crispy (the fries can also be replaced with other side dishes. I personally recommend choosing 50/50 fries and salad otherwise all fries may be too much. So full 🤣) Even the regulars inside greeted me, it’s a super friendly environment...! I would like to try their other dishes next time.

We ordered a huge order for work event. 40 portions! Called and ordered, came by and picked up at the exact right time, they even through in some vinegar and ketchup for free! Super lovely food, super helpful staff. Thank you - we're stuffed!!

We are on a 4 week UK holiday from Australia and I asked a cabbie to recommend a good proper English chippy. We travelled 30 minutes to try Kennedy's on Goswell Rd and we're not disappointed. The Haddock was super fresh and most importantly the chips were freshly cut and cooked. And finally the lady who greeted us was warm and welcoming. Well done everyone and we highly recommend you.

Had a fabulous fish and chip supper here after our trip on the Thames river cruiser and guided tour of central London festive lights. There were 48 of us in total. Came here last on a coach trip supper, food was piping hot and freshly cooked. The staff was very polite and extremely attentive. My chicken breast was beautiful and nor in the least bit dry thank you so much.

Ordered 2 portions of cod and chips. 5 chips. Beyond disappointed. Edit: I ordered through Deliveroo but it turns out it’s incorrectly listed as coming with chips. Obviously I couldn’t have known that was wrong, but hopefully they update it. So make sure you add them as extra! (The food we did get was fresh and delicious)

We came from Essex today for a fish and chip meal booked via Kevendys coach trips. I am a very fussy eater and asked for Rock and chips and only vanilla ice cream...! Everything was there and no questions asked. Meal, superb.
