The Crofty in Swansea

As ever the food was really tasty but was just warm near to cold and i do like my food a bit hotter so that's why its only 3 star sorry

I thought the price point for the food very good . The menu items are straight forward but I was very impressed with my meal . Beer is reasonably priced and the intimate atmosphere is inviting and comfortable. A treasure for the village in my mind .

Enjoyed the meal and as a little village pub, it was warm an super friendly. If you going to watch a Rugby a match, get there very early, it was rammed but great atmosphere.

The bar and restaurant may have swapped places but this is still the place to go for the best Sunday lunch around.

We had Sunday lunch here before Christmas and it was amazing. The meats were fantastic quality melt in you're mouth cooked to perfection. Staff friendly and attentive. Highly recommend nice to support a local business.

The kitchen has reopened and the food is world class. I'll definitely be going back for this as it was amazing. The creme brulee was stunning 🤤

4 of us eat an evening meal here on 24th November and even though we had different main courses we were unanimous in agreement that the food was superb. To top it all the waitress was knowledgeable and very friendly The final bill which included some excellent desserts was very reasonable priced. My friends all agreed that a return visit was a must!

Had a fabulous meal in the Crofty this evening. The bass was cooked to perfection and fabulous to have local line caught fish as opposed to the farmed version served in so many restaurants today. The service was great and the ambience in the new setting for the restaurant was superb ❤️❤️ Would highly recommend and we will be back ourselves very soon Thanks

Sorry to be a bit negative but we never got the chance to try this restaurant. Opening hours online were ambiguous and their own website was under maintenance. We turned up for lunch believing the restaurant might be op[en - it wasn't. We phoned to make a dinner reservation and the lady advised they had a large party in that evening. Based on excellent reviews we nevertheless persevered a couple of days later and popped in whilst passing to make a dinner reservation. The barman told us there was 'no food today' despite published opening hours to the contrary. We asked why no food simply to be advised 'she's decided not to open'. So, hope you have better luck than we did.

Absolutely stunning! My first visit to The Crofty since I was a small child. The food is simply delicious. We had 3 starters, prawns in ginger sauce, pork in apple cider and Camembert with onion salsa. We both had the leek & chicken pancake which was incredible. The pancakes are huge and covered in a cheese sauce. Served with peas, carrots, chips and sauté potatoes. So much we actually took some home! When we arrived there were two large tables just about to be served and the young waitress apologized profusely that our order may take some time. She took our order and we got our starters pretty fast so no problem with waiting. Besides the fabulous food the greatest part of our visit was the super professional, super friendly, young waitress. Brilliantly attentive. I’ll certainly be back, maybe to try the Sunday lunch 10/10

Good food nice beers service a little slow otherwise good venue worth a try

What a lovely place. Stopped here for lunch today, meals we had were the slow roasted beef and chicken in honey & mustard. The food was lovely, reasonably priced and couldn't fault the service at all. The waitress was lovely and a pleasure to be served by. The place looked nice and like it has been undergoing a bit of a makeover. Would definitely call again if in the area

The best place in gower for Sunday dinner

Had our first visit today 23.7.23 for Sunday lunch. It was absolutely delicious couldn't fault it. The staff were pleasant and very friendly. We will definitely make another visit soon. Would highly recommend .

Finally! After 65 years a bread-and-butter pudding better than my own! A delicious Sunday roast presented beautifully, complimented by a sumptuous bread-and-butter pud and served by attentive informed staff. A dining experience. Thank you Crofty. Stunning meals and great service.

Absolutely incredible, a must if you’re in the area. Amazing service and even better food. The kitchen was very accommodating of my partners allergy and Chris, our server, was extremely attentive. He gave us his recommendations and helped us decide what we wanted. Couldn’t recommend this place more. Definitely one of my new favourite places to eat.

Went for Sunday lunch. Limited choice for starters, however still enough for everyone to have something they enjoyed. Between us, we had beef, lamb and pork which were all so lovely and tender. Only 2 roast potatoes and a small piece of parsnip but an abundance of vegetables and mashed potato with extra gravy. Will definitely return as the staff and very very friendly and great value for money

Wonderful food, very attentive staff

Having previously dined here for midweek lunch and enjoyed our meals immensely (including actual homemade chips, not frozen ready made) we decided to try Sunday lunch. Sooo glad we did! The food was fantastic...my 93 year old mum had chicken, I had beef. Great selection of veg provided, all of which were fresh, as much extra gravy as you wanted and everything was very tasty. My mum (who's a very small lady) polished off her whole meal and somehow managed to find room for lemon sponge and custard for dessert too 😂! Very nice atmosphere, pleasant and efficient waiting staff, we'll definitely be back.

First visit to this homely pub/restaurant . Had the Sunday lunch which was delicious, really tasty the lamb was cooked to perfection & generous portions .Good choice of delicious deserts if you can manage one after a good sized dinner !! 5/5 food and drink is always quality from my local burgers loaded fries and the savoury pancakes are my personal favourite washed down with some local ale and Sunday lunch never disappoints. Best family run pub on the gower.

The Sunday lunch is absolutely beautiful the meat was like butter and the gravy the very best we've ever tasted. Highly recommend!

We have visited this restaurant four times now and each time been served delicious food. We had to book a table, and there is a little wait for the food to be freshly cooked, but it’s well worth the wait. There is an extensive menu and the staff are friendly and helpful. Children and dogs welcome too. I recommend it .

The food here has the ‘wow’ factor. I have been longing for good lamb since my stay in Wales. Honestly, if you stay in Gower, this is the place you should come and try. I was struggling to find a slow cooked lamb steak meal in Gower, though lamb is what Gower is famous for. I looked around on Google maps for some decent rating restaurant and I found this place! I was in luck as they make a delicious slow cooked lamb, which is absolutely tasty! Just so tender and the lamb truly melts in your mouth. The glazing of honey very well done. Also their specialty sea bass and all the seafood were very good as well! Make sure you get a main with sauté potatoes because the sauce will blow your mind! The texture and the taste were just fantastic!Strongly recommended 🥇

I visited The Crofty with my husband this evening for the first time, and it definitely won’t be the last. Best meal I have had out in a long time. I had the slow roast pork loin with a cider and apple sauce,sauté potatoes and a side of two veg. My husband had the daily special of rump steak which came with mushrooms,onion rings, home made chips and a side of veg. The young waitress was pleasant and professional. She was able to answer any question we asked.

Staff are amazing, big warm welsh welcome. Fast WIFI as i had a little work on the puter to get done and they really looked after me. Great seating outside front and back too. I Found a good thing here

We stayed here as we were attending a nearby wedding. Wendy was warm and friendly and nothing was too much trouble and our cooked breakfast was stunning. Our room was very clean and the bed was comfy too :) Thanks again Tom and Cathryn

Just had the Sunday lunch. The meal was a treat. My wife had slow roast beef and I had turkey. My wife reminded me that turkey can on occasion be 'dry'. Not on this occasion. Both meats were cooked to perfection. The same can be said of the vegetables and there were plenty of them. The staff were welcoming , alert and confident. Our conclusion was ; like Arnie said, ' We'll be back '.

They do not do any type of food on a Monday or Tuesday and just about got a coffee there.

This was the best meal of our four night break on the Gower and we ate somewhere different every night. The food was prepared to a high standard. We recommend the slow cooked lamb or beef dishes which were well garnished. I seldom get through three courses, however my wife did help me with the cheesecake! The final bill represented good value and we would certainly recommend this place to people visiting the area. A traditional pub and restaurant, popular with locals. It was pool night in the bar on the night we dined here, but we were well looked after in the restaurant.

We had a lovely meal. I had salmon with prawn sauce and my husband had the slow roast beef. The server was lovely. The only thing was it was really cold in the room. The server put the radiators on but it did not warm up sufficiently. Ate my meal with my coat on.

Cracking little pub ,friendly landlady ,loads of locals and regulars in there ,pool table , outside heated sheltered seating ,tiny bit pricey but good pub nonetheless

Great value for money not just steak and chips, you also had mushrooms onions choice of potatoes and two veg. Steak was cooked to perfection melt in the mouth, The staff was very friendly and great atmosphere. Would recommend to anyone and we will definitely be going back when we are this way again. A perfect place.

We had the absolute best meal at The Crofty. Everything on the menu sounded delicious and every meal we choice was absolutely fantastic! The food was all fresh, hot and so nicely done. We were all so pleased! The value was fantastic and the service was brilliant. We look forward to visiting again next time we are here and will highly recommend it to everyone. We can’t rate it highly enough we had such a great meal!

The Crofty is a definately a lovely quirky pub, but we had excellent service from the bar man yesterday lunchtime/afternoon 12th October. Well recommended for a quiet afternoon beer.

Lovely Sunday lunch, pleasant and helpful staff.

Friendly staff, nice and cosy seating with armchairs or restaurant style. Menu nice but missing fish and chips or pie and chips. Many burger dishes or beef/lamb offers. One real ale on draft, many lagers.

Food was tasty. Not cheap. Decor dated. Service was OK.

Stopped in for lunch, as we were walking along the Coastal Path. Absolutely stunning food. Would definitely call again.

We booked this place for an evening meal as we had friends visiting Swansea who had a dog and wanted to eat in a dog friendly restaurant. Having never been, the reviews suggested it was good, so we booked, and we're definitely not disappointed! The lady serving was friendly and helpful (explained the menu when asked questions about dishes) and told us a bit about the place. It was a half hour wait for food, but it was definitely worth it. Home cooked food and all 4 dishes were superb! Fresh vegetables served separately on side dishes. Everyone enjoyed their food. The dining area is full of eclectic furniture and interesting decor. We had desserts which were also amazing. All in all, everyone was full, satisfied and happy. The dog was given attention too and not treated like an inconvenience. Would highly recommend this place and will be coming back again! Local pub doing brilliant service. Don't be put off by the basic front, or small car park (we found parking a short walk away), it's definitely worth a visit!! Thank you for the service and food.

Wonderful meal, really helpful and friendly staff. Started with an amazing antipasti salamis Parma ham stuffed peppers olives and the most delicious warm sourdough bread. For main the pancakes are amazing, my husband had the seafood one. So fresh and delicious. I had food intolerances and they could not have been more helpful. I had the beef red wine mushroom and bacon which was absolutely delicious. I highly recommend the sauté potatoes just delicious. We came down for a bank holiday getaway from London & the staff were incredibly friendly & welcoming, nothing was too much trouble for them! The food was one of the best roasts I have had & really great value for money. The owner, Wendy is a fantastic hostess! I highly recommend visiting this little hidden gem if you are ever in the area.

All the family had burgers. We opted for their ‘you’ve pulled’ burger while the kids made their own from a mind boggling choice of additions. Food came out well presented and superbly cooked. Portions were good and service was slick.

Stayed overnight after a friend's birthday party nearby. Lovely room, delicious breakfast and fab, friendly service.

Very good village pub, serving good beer and for us excellent food, this is the second time we have stayed in Crofty for a holiday, and eaten in the local pub on both occasions. And this holiday was no exception the food was delicious, we went to there Beaujolais event, and the food and wine went down a treat. A good time was had by all, well done to the chef and staff.

Had a family Sunday Roast. Between us there was lamb, beef and pork. All well cooked with plenty of vegetables and gravy. We arrived a bit early and the staff were a bit slow off the mark but very pleasant. Light and tidy surroundings. The only down side was there was only 1 roast potato each!

We went as a family to have breakfast in the Crofty to watch the Rugby World Cup but we had such a great time we also had Sunday lunch!!!!Newly decorated its a lovely, cosy lively local pub welcoming everyone through their doors.So proud its our local!!!!!

Was OK but our food order took forever.

We had a lovely Sunday lunch - the food was faultless. However the interior of the pub is in desperate need of painting. This was a little off putting when we first arrived as the walls were very marked and dirty and the skirting grubby. The staff however made up for this as nothing was too much trouble. If this place had a lick of paint it would make all the difference.

A great place to watch rugby. The food was excellent. Six of us enjoyed our meal very much. I would recommend the chicken and leek pancake with cheese sauce, delicious. Service was also excellent, friendly and attentive. We will visit again.

Amazing local pub with friendly staff. Great food both for lunch, dinner and a Sunday roast. There are multiple gluten free and vegan options and the chef makes everything from scratch so is happy to tweak dishes to suit individual needs.

We all enjoyed our Sunday lunch. Plenty of choice and a very good portion size. The service was excellent with extra consideration given to our disabled daughter when they agreed to bring her meal out 5 minutes early than the rest. Highly recommended. Thank you
