We ate at the Crofty Inn twice during our week's stay in the village. Please note that it doesn't serve food every day and only evenings (as of June 2024). Wednesday night is tapas night and they were delicious and really good value! Thursday is steak night and we don't eat red meat so I can't comment on that. Another night, we had burgers: I had salmon burger and the others had vegetarian burgers. Not quite as good as the tapas but still decent! You can order sides such as chips, onion rings and I think hash browns and salad.

Sorry to be a bit negative but we never got the chance to try this restaurant. Opening hours online were ambiguous and their own website was under maintenance. We turned up for lunch believing the restaurant might be op[en - it wasn't. We phoned to make a dinner reservation and the lady advised they had a large party in that evening. Based on excellent reviews we nevertheless persevered a couple of days later and popped in whilst passing to make a dinner reservation. The barman told us there was 'no food today' despite published opening hours to the contrary. We asked why no food simply to be advised 'she's decided not to open'. So, hope you have better luck than we did.

Absolutely stunning! My first visit to The Crofty since I was a small child. The food is simply delicious. We had 3 starters, prawns in ginger sauce, pork in apple cider and Camembert with onion salsa. We both had the leek & chicken pancake which was incredible. The pancakes are huge and covered in a cheese sauce. Served with peas, carrots, chips and sauté potatoes. So much we actually took some home! When we arrived there were two large tables just about to be served and the young waitress apologized profusely that our order may take some time. She took our order and we got our starters pretty fast so no problem with waiting. Besides the fabulous food the greatest part of our visit was the super professional, super friendly, young waitress. Brilliantly attentive. I’ll certainly be back, maybe to try the Sunday lunch 10/10

Having previously dined here for midweek lunch and enjoyed our meals immensely (including actual homemade chips, not frozen ready made) we decided to try Sunday lunch. Sooo glad we did! The food was fantastic...my 93 year old mum had chicken, I had beef. Great selection of veg provided, all of which were fresh, as much extra gravy as you wanted and everything was very tasty. My mum (who's a very small lady) polished off her whole meal and somehow managed to find room for lemon sponge and custard for dessert too 😂! The food here has the ‘wow’ factor. I have been longing for good lamb since my stay in Wales. Honestly, if you stay in Gower, this is the place you should come and try. I was struggling to find a slow cooked lamb steak meal in Gower, though lamb is what Gower is famous for. I looked around on Google maps for some decent rating restaurant and I found this place! I was in luck as they make a delicious slow cooked lamb, which is absolutely tasty! Just so tender and the lamb truly melts in your mouth. The glazing of honey very well done. Also their specialty sea bass and all the seafood were very good as well! Make sure you get a main with sauté potatoes because the sauce will blow your mind! The texture and the taste were just fantastic!Strongly recommended 🥇

This was the best meal of our four night break on the Gower and we ate somewhere different every night. The food was prepared to a high standard. We recommend the slow cooked lamb or beef dishes which were well garnished. I seldom get through three courses, however my wife did help me with the cheesecake! The final bill represented good value and we would certainly recommend this place to people visiting the area. A traditional pub and restaurant, popular with locals. We had desserts which were also amazing. All in all, everyone was full, satisfied and happy. The dog was given attention too and not treated like an inconvenience. “queues going out the door!” probably to file a complaint because their phones are never answered. Me, my friend and my partner ordered from here today for breakfast. The reviews looked good so i looked past the £50 price mark (mind you, we only ordered 3 things). My partner is vegan, so got the Vegan breakfast, which came with real bacon, real egg and real sausage, meaning he couldn’t eat literally any of the food that came. My avocado chorizo toast was absolutely foul, it was all covered in oil and tasted of nothing but salt. The pancakes and bacon were dry and tasteless too, how do you mess up pancakes so badly? The entire experience was absolutely awful and the fact they don’t answer their phone makes it even more irritating to be honest. Avoid.

I have waited several weeks before writing this. I rarely post negative reviews, particularly not for small independent venues. But the price of 2 pieces of cheese on toast costing £10.95 is still irritating me. I didn’t look at the bill until sitting back down and my bank account flashed up the amount. I went back to the counter and asked if this was correct. Then to add insult to injury, we had nearly finished our coffees and my wife went to the counter to check where the cheese on toast was. No apology from the staff, and they said it was waiting in the kitchen as they couldn’t remember what table ordered it. You would expect sour dough bread or some, artisan crafted speciality bread and a fine local Welsh mature cheddar for this price. What we received was bog standard supermarket sliced brown bread and a meagre layer of bog standard supermarket cheese, that barely covered the cardboard toast. It was now barely tepid and ranks as the worst and most expensive cheese on toast we have ever had. Our cake was good but I overpriced, and the coffee was OK, but no where near as good as numerous other coffee shops in Swansea. Positives are: venue is nice and clean, staff friendly but somewhat dopey. It’s a shame they demolished my old school Ty-Coch. I am sure the catering ladies would have done a better job
