We were 2 adults and 2 children and were looking for Best food on promenade so found The Crispy Cod which is a fish & Chips shop. We order fish and kids meal. All the food were freshly cooked and served in best cutlery. The tase was awesome the staff was very friendly and polite. I recommend to go

We had a long drive back to Blackpool on holiday after a visit to relatives in the Lake District and were so happy to see this place open - We enjoyed freshly cooked fish and chips served in a sturdy box and sat in the car- watching the illuminations while we ate them. Absolutely delicious and a lovely memory made

Don't go. I ordered online. The delivery driver went to the wrong address and blamed me before taking my food back and still charging me for it. I will be back there in person with many others. Don't steal

We turned up in Blackpool slightly later than planned. This was one of the few places still open at 6. The food (cod and chips with gravy, curry sauce and mushy peas) was amazing. The person serving was really friendly too.

Freshly made fish and chips by the seaside can’t be beaten and the crispy cod was perfect nice chip shop with friendly service by the sea

After walking the full length of South Shore, from South to Central pier, looking for a fish and chip shop to our liking, we found this small unassuming place tucked back just off from the promenade. Not expecting anything fantastic, we decided to give it a look-see. Upon initial sight, the fish and chips looked very appetising, and so we ordered. A single portion was big enough for a couple looking for a light lunch. The fish was crispy and full of taste, the chips were fluffy and light. We very much enjoyed our lunch there, we would go again if ever back that way, and would recommend to others.

Got 2 sausage and chips to take away it cost 11 quid and when I got it back to my hotel the sausages were cold and I had about 10 chips in each portion. Terrible.

Intended to go to another place but it was closed and found this by accident - so glad we did! Ordered 2 fish, chips and peas, it was cooked fresh for us and absolutely delicious. Big portions, and staff were very friendly. Lovely, very pleased.

Great food and good staff, we went to a rival cafe that was more expensive...then came there. Now where to goto next time.

We stopped off here for tea before walking down the Golden Mile one windy October evening during the illuminations. We ordered fish and peas but were served fish chips and peas, but we still ate it and it was nice. The portions were quite big. The cappuccino was lovely and my daughters friend had chips and curry. It was warm and spacious and the staff were friendly enough. Fairly quiet and we had to ask for sauce and serviettes etc. It was very quiet when we visited as it was during covid 19, so we didn’t wait too long. Well placed on the sea front near the Manchester Arms.

Should of been 50% off eat out to help out charged full price robbing soansos and they'll be claiming back off goverment

Dropped in here for some chips today, asked for a large chips and charged £3...this is what I was served....literally a cone of chips that were dry, tasteless chips. Felt ripped off by the guy stuttering deciding what to charge me from £2 to £3

Had dinner in the Crispy Cod the Chicken Strips very good and Chips very good but the kids Sausage wasn’t the best, all in all a nice wee Chippy for a quick bite to eat.

Top quality freshly cooked food at a good price, it’s what seaside chip shops should be about. Excellent service and when asked for something not exactly on the menu for the kids happy to provide.

After a walk through the illuminations with my husband and children we stopped off here for fish and chips and were very glad we did! Hot, tasty, fresh and staff very friendly. Will definitely be visiting again

Wasn’t busy when we arrived probably due to the time. Food was quick, reasonably priced and tasty. This place is modern and situated on the promenade opposite the beach.

Been here quite a few times over the years and have always had excellent food and always cooked fresh to order. I have even travelled over 100 miles to come and have fish and chips here when i have wanted fish and chips by the sea. Definitely one of the best in blackpool.

High prices,hardly any Staff to serve,and after waiting quite a while and NOT getting served on a couple of occasions,we left,NEVER to return !!!

Went by chance. Lads very friendly. Ordered fish chips and mushy peas + cappuccino. Came to £9.00. Food hot and plentiful. Cafe clean and wheelchair friendly including toilet. Will visit again if back in Blackpool

Wasn't impressed. Not much choice and the food wasn't as nice as expected. Not the best fish and chip shop in Blackpool and to be honest wouldn't recommend again nevermind visit. Needs a lot improvement. Only positive was the cleanliness and friendly staff member.

Visited on Saturday with a group of friends, very poor service, one person in charge of taking orders and cooking meant a very long wait for food, someone who had ordered after me despite being a bigger order even got their food before we did.

Delicious crispy batter and fresh chips served with mushy peas. Didnt have to wait long and it is very clean and tidy inside could not fault it. Excellent service with a smile.

I was in Blackpool with work and needed somewhere to get something to eat for dinner. I decided to have Fish and Chips and came across the Crispy Cod and decided to give it a try. I wish i had kept walking.

Called in here today before driving home and wished I hadn’t have bothered. The chips were nice but the fish and sausage were very sub standard. Typical of blackpool being overpriced for what it offers... won’t be going back even if everywhere else is full!

After looking forward to fish and chips by the seaside like all day we were all very disappointed. Fish and chips extremely greasy with that oil needs changing taste. The curry sauce was extremely watery with not much taste. The restaurant was nice and clean but sadly we wouldn’t return.

I called in here with my wife for cod and chips. The service we had was quick and efficient. The fish was as fresh as one would expect and the batter was the lightest that I have ever had and the chips were just right all served on a plate which made it very nice because lots of other fish and chip places serve it to you in a take away container when eating in. So for me this is the place for fish and chips.

Me and my son fancied a nice cod and chips on the sea front and with the sign stating crispy cod I thought I was going to get a nice piece of fresh fish. The fish had never seen a cod and probably never seen the sea, it tasted vile and my son threw up when we got back to the hotel. The restaurant itself is brand new, so clean and new. I only had the fish so can only review that, maybe other choices are fine. But ruined our dinner so won't be going back, maybe just to complain directly to the owner, as this is in a prime area and maybe I can get him to start buying fresh cod from up the road in Fleetwood. But for now, avoid the fish.

We had something to eat at this chip shop as we were passing on our way to Blackpool tower. The fish and chips portion were fine and chips very nice Would eat here again!

Had a fish supper here. It was made to order and was a good sized portion. I would go back if you could drag me back to Blackpool.

Other reviews are right that this is a bit dirty, staff not really friendly and portions not great. Food tasted OK but not the best fish and chips on offer that's for sure. A bit greasy and lacking taste. Everything appeared to be freshly cooked but that meant a very long wait for everyone who ordered. No foresight to cook lots of food despite it being during Illuminations.

We called to this fish shop after wandering down the prom before the illuminations. Really wish we had waited until we got further down. Awful! The fish was the thinnest slice I had seen and all grey. Batter was not bubbly and overcooked. Portions were small and served in white plastic trays. The tartare sauce tasted like salad cream so had obviously been watered down like the cheap tomato sauce.

We went to Blackpool for our annual illuminations trip. We stumbled upon the Crispy Cod. Prices looked average and the pictures on the menu looked appetising. We ordered a burger meal a chicken bites meal and 2 sausage meals. We were asked if we wanted gravy (this is £1 extra...£1 for the tiniest amount of gravy, they don't tell you that it's this much extra) we were also asked if we wanted small or large portions, we all got large as we were really hungry. When we received our food it came in trays and I had to check if they had got the order correct as the trays were so small. I dread to think what a small portion was like if we had the large. We also had to move a chair so we could all sit round a table, the lady behind the counter shouted at her coworker that they will be needing to rearrange the chairs when we had gone. This could be heard by everyone else in the place. I was planning on returning the chair after we had used it and felt this outburst was uncalled for and made me feel embarrassed. Then a man came in and out with supplies and had to get passed us to get into the back, everytime he passed us he pushed passed our pram knocking it each time, not once did he appologise. Yet on his way back out a woman dropped the smallest bit of paper on the floor and he shouted at her.

Called in here after a football match, the place was not busy but it took ages to get your food after you had ordered and paid, it reminded me of the Chuckle Brothers with their saying " To me to you", One person put the food in a tray and past it to another person who then passed it to a third person who then shouted out what it was. This apart the food was a good portion and nice. Would call again but get the service sorted as it was a joke.

We called in here for fish and chips tonight and were disappointed we'd picked this chippy out of them all. The chips were tasteless, the gravy was not much better and worst of all they didn't have any curry sauce! The place was clean enough and the staff were polite but I won't be going back.

Went in for sausage & chips. It was Saturday evening & very busy. There was 3 staff behind the counter but only 2 were making any effort to clear the long long que. It took almost half an hour before I left with my sausage & chips. The sit in area had also been very busy. The bin & several tables were over flowing with rubbish. One of the motivated staff members was doing their very best to clear the rubbish. I would suggest more staff are needed for busy periods. It was too busy for just 3 members of staff to deal with.

The Cod was fantastic and fresh, the chips were good too. They could do with getting better with their cleaning though as the table we sat at had curry sauce all over it AFTER the girl had gone round with the cloth! Other than that was really good.

We all got chips and gravy it was delish. Lovely man behind the counter, also had a nice coffee which are usually horrible with takeout coffees. Very clean and will be going again.

We thought with this being a proper fish and chip shop that the food would be better here. The lady behind the counter wouldn't win any awards for her customer service and when the food arrived the chips were undercooked and there was more batter than actual fish.

Excellent, polite and friendly staff greet you with a smile and opologise if you've been in a que for the delay. Good prices and excellent quality hot food. Would return here.

Only went in this chippy for some chips on the way back to the hotel , but best chips I have tasted from a chippy for some time it was very clean and the owner was very friendly will use it again

Went here for dinner on our last day, put in our order and told it would be 6 mins, 25 mins later our order came out incomplete when we questioned where this child's meal was we were told we had not ordered it!

went in because there was not many places still open for food, very expensive, the coffee was cold, portions were small, the fish was very greasy. the staff were friendly but not quick

We visited Blackpool for a family day out - it was a beautifully hot day - the promenade at Blackpool has been transformed since we last visited and looks amazing - even the sea looked blue! After walking for some time we spotted The Crispy Cod - it is on Lytham Road but is virtually on the Promenade next to the Manchester Pub. The young girl who served us was very pleasant and the shop was spotless. We chose to takeaway as it was a hot day but there are plenty of seats to sit inside. Four of. U.S. Had fish and chips and all agreed it was the best fish we had ever had. They do plenty of other food as well eg. Hot dogs, popcorn chicken etc. We ate across the road from the shop in the sunshine - happy days!
