I have to say for what is a very simple dish, this was very disappointing. The fish was very flat and the batter far outweighed the filling whilst also being very greasy. The chips I'm guessing were overcooked as many of them didn't actually have any filling in them, so they were very chewy. I am normally very full after F&C but this meal left me feeling like I wanted something additional and savoury, rather than sweet.

Not been for years as I was put off by the last owner. Tried it as I was recommended and was happy with the quality. The chips were fresh and hot. Lovely cheese and onion pie cooked to perfection. Curry sauce and gracy delicious

Got a lovely welcome when I walked in, and my order was taken straight away, they ask your name so when your order is done they call your name, I think that's really nice, the fish was cooked to order and the chips were fresh, the mushy peas were scrumptious, I can highly recommend this lovely, friendly chip shop

Chips weren't great, but I think it's the potatoes at the moment. Everything was freshly cooked and the chicken burger was gorgeous, not reformed meat.

I always find issues with take away good but this place is by far the nicest we order regular only ever negative was once the curry was very watery but every other time it’s been perfect and the shop workers at very pleasant And when delivered very friendly

Great friendly chippy who make my fish exactly how I like it (very lightly battered). Other places I've visited don't know the meaning of lightly battered, but this place does so it's my "go to" chippy.

Took over 3 hours for arrival after order, and then the order was wrong. Missed things and some of the chips were so overcooked they were inedible.

Won’t be going again threw it all in the bin distgusting chips were like bricks and staff were unkempt and a fish was weird like it was cooked in dirty fat

I dont know if its because they are not as busy but I've been a few times recently and the food seems a little over cooked , nice enough staff. 1/11/21 , 18.30 UPDATE , consistently . Just came back off holiday from Spain and fancying fish and chips , my family came round so I spent over £30 , this was just on fish and chips , the fish was cooked grate but the chips went in the bin ! , it wasn't just me this time 4 other adults and a child that said the chips was over cooked and hard . Sorry for down grade but spent to much this time and to many fish and chips shops in and around Leyton to be disappointed .

What can you say about perfect fish and chips? And the staff? Efficient, friendly, and very obliging. I would recommend this chippy to anyone.

Gone down the pan recently and well over priced . The prices are shocking got to be the dearest in Blackpool and it’s not as if the quality matches the price. Never again as onslow round the corner is better on both accounts.

Fisher’s Plaice Layton .my fave fish and chip shop ever.Fish is delish so are the chips ,mushy peas are yum so is the fruity curry sauce always get our dog “Harvey “ A large sausage too and he loves it .I have the same meal every week or twice if I can.Food is spot on portion size is good too.always arrives hot .I always have delivery and more often arrives before the time stated .

Been informed this place is not usually open on a Sunday, if tonight is anything to go by I can see why. Haddock was overcooked, more batter than fish and very greasy, chips seem to be a mixer of chucky frozen chips and actually chippy chips maybe, which a lot were inedable so in total got approx 1 + 1/2 bags and half a fish to throw away. When ordering 2 lot of chips and gravy and a fish and chips it was given to me separately, so 3 lots of chips, 2 small tubs of gravy and a fish on its own. I personally have not enjoyed this meal, and I am a person that eats food weeks beyond its expiry date. Staff seemed friendly enough. I Will not be going there again.

Sausage was horrid staff don't like when u are honest with a review of how my experience was. Safe to say 100% gone down hill chips not fresh the are carried in the place in sealed water bags so not fresh potatoes would never go back an after my review was told I would not be served again im glad but just not good at customer service avoid not nice they is a better 1 on onslow Road

Spicy curry sauce 10/10 for the resemblance of sticky toffee pudding 0/10 for the taste doesn’t even stick to the chips (this was ten minutes after arriving home and no it wasn’t refrigerated)

Lovely chippy always hot fresh food. Chips aren't frozen you can tell they are proper chipped potatoes. Staff are always friendly too. Highly recommended 👌

My usual chippy was closed so i came here instead. I wasn't impressed. It was expensive, the fish was overcooked and the chips were obviously from frozen. The staff were nice tho. I won't be going back.

Used to be my favourite chippy when the previous owner had it until she sadly passed away. Not had it for a while, as usually go Seniors, now I remember why I haven’t had in a while. Chips looked like they had been left in the fryer for hours. No fresh chips, which should be given. Tasteless, dry and overcooked pieces of grease. I eat what I could as I was starving and hadn’t eaten all day. But deffo will never be going back and paying over £2 for the privilege.

We ordered two large haddock and two chips through the online site and we knew it was going to take some time for it to be delivered which we understood considering the current situation. But when it arrived, it was cold. The chips were overcooked and the fish was really greasy which left the batter really soggy. And after a two hour wait was really not worth it. So won't be ordering from here again.

Reasonable price and found the tasted very nice but chips were tasteless and cold and had to reheat them.

Honest mixed review, fish was hot, curry sauces were nice but the chips were definately a let down, Luke warm and extremely dried out, tasted like they had been cooked a while ago and kept warm.

Fancied a chippy tea and as onslow chippy was closed for holiday we had no choice but to try fishers plaice I had a regular fish priced at a massive £4 and when I got home in car literally 5 mins away, opened my fish this tiny little thing was swimming in grease and was the worst fish I had in a long time daylight robbery, NEVER AGAIN

This is by far the best fish shop in a 20 mile radius. Never been disappointed .Tonight we tried the delivery option for the first time. It took 20 minutes and everything was beautiful and fresh as always. Keep up the good work guys.

We've been going to this chippie for years and loved their food and service, but a couple of weeks ago, I found a long black hair in my chips and there's now no way we can ever go back because it's put us off forever! Now we're looking for another chippie!

Top chippy We had batters sausage chips cheese and gravy and a Yorkshire fish ake and fruity curry absolutely lush as always thanks you. Delivery guy was polite as always and delivered much sooner than expected.

I ordered food to be delivered and was disgusted at what arrived. Firstly, let me say that the 3 items I originally wanted had been removed from the menu, so I had to order alternatives. When the order arrived, before I even received it, I could smell old fish, now, as you probably know, fresh fish has no smell, old fish does. The fish was also overcooked to the point where the meat was dry and the batter was dark brown, inedible, I should say so, even my cat walked away from it and she loves fried fish. The chips were insipid and cold, the sausages were undercooked to the point that they were still pink inside and the pastry on the pies was undercooked. They looked like they had been put into a hot oven, from frozen and cooked for 10 minutes, as the pasty was still raw on the top, on the bottom and half way up the sides. I didn't try the accompanying gravy. Needless to say, this all went in the bin. The only saving grace is that the majority of the cost of this order was via a £10 voucher I had received from Fishers Plaice. I will not be a returning customer, even if the "food" is free. I rated Fishers Plaice as 1 star, I would have liked to have given less.

I was tasked with finding a chippy that could handle a large order but also offered a better range of items other than your normal humdrum chippy. The girls and dave absolutely smashed it6 large fish and chips 3 salt and pepper squid baskets (amazing) 2 lots of chicken nuggets (absolutely unreal). All in all everyone's meal was perfect couldnt fault it. The only fault i had was i prefer more vinegar but thats just me im sure if id have asked theyd have put more on.So in the local area defo visit fisher plaice 100% one of the better if dare i say it best chippy ive tried

First visit here ordered fish and chips absolutely disgusting hardly any batter on fish and where there was batter it was soggy chips needed cooking more rip off prices for 2 fish and chips and 2 curry sauce over £18-00 never will i use again

I had fish chips peas and my partner had scampi and chips, usually we don't use fishers plaice however I think this could be our go too chips were perfect not under cooked and the fish just melted in your mouth the fella said the scampi was nice only bad thing was he didnt order enough the staff even told us about the meal deal I could get which I thought was a nice addition will be back soon

I have been coming for a while now, the quality of the pies are good and the chips never disappoint and the spicy curry sauce is the best I've had. Lovely friendly staff but just lately there is a new young girl who doesn't give a good portion compared to other staff members which has disappointed myself and colleagues. Also I love the fact NHS workers get discount and Wednesday's are a £1 a pie! All the best from pudding, chips, spicy curry and diet coke!

Usual chippy was shut on a recent bank holiday, so went here instead. Chips were nice but cold, fish was cold and the peas were tasteless. Shame.

I'm a semi regular visitor and I have NEVER had a bad meal from here. After eating fish there, I know what fresh fish should take like. The batter is always light and crispy. The chips are always cooked to perfection and are never soggy with grease. The food is best eaten right away, they don't like travelling far, I've been to other chippys and they simply do not compare to this place and is always my chippy of choice.

Superb quality chips and the gravy was very tasty.. been with the family and we all enjoyed the food and also been back on my dinner break as well.. can’t fault anything really..

Quite probably the best chippy I have had in my many, many years living on the fylde coast. My girlfriend and I live 25 minutes away, but we will still travel to eat here. One of the few places that still does proper, top quality potato scallops. The gravy is certainly a better quality than any other I've had in Blackpool. The fish portions are generous, as are the chips. The chip barm, I feel is fantastic value for money. No cheap barm cakes, I in fact think their barm cakes are larger than normal. As you can tell, highly recommended.

Heard great things about this chip shop so I took my children and ordered chips, gravy, peas, sausage and pies. Great tastings and well cooked chips. Nice, thick gravy. Will definetly be back!

dont know what’s happened here used to visit quite regular but not anymore change of staff definitely has not been for the best you can smell the oil which has been well used and the taste of the food is not what it used to be won’t be recommending or visiting again

I have used this chippy for years and have always had hot, freshly cooked food. The last few times I have visited the quality has deteriorated, The chips were hard and cold with many discoloured potatoes in them. I binned them - they were not fit to eat. There appear to be different staff there now so don't know what is going on. What a shame!
