Went for lunch today and it was fantastic, as well as excellent value for money (£4.50 for toasted pita with avocado, tomato, houmous and capers, with salad; and £2.20 for a mocha - so definitely excellent value). Lovely seating area and friendly staff. Best in Biggleswade and will definitely be visiting again!!

I took my vegetarian friend here for lunch with her 6 month old baby. Lunch was lovely, followed by a coffee and cake. Food was great and service was personal and fantastic, would definitely recommend.

What a find to stumble upon! Headed by two twin sisters, the courtyard cafe far exceeded my expectations as a wellness centre. The chef specialises in gourmet cooking- I highly recommend the chocolate truffles! I was pleased to find such a forward-thinking place in Biggleswade. I honestly can not think of a better place to be.

A place to eat, where you can be sure the food is ridiculously healthy yet it still presents you with delicious, flavour-packed, satisfying meals. Gorgeous soups, super fresh tasty breads, substantial mains.. we particularly loved the peppers roasted with choice of cheese (we went for goat's cheese... YUM.) BUT you must save space for the indescribably delicious cakes. We "only" tried three, too hard to choose. The Courtyard is located in the heart of Biggleswade, easy to find and easy parking. It is located in a wellness centre, which offers an exceptional range of classes and therapies. Win, win! Take a class, have a massage... Eat a fabulous, guilt-free meal! PS The coffee is the best you will find... well, anywhere

Tempted by numerous vegetarian and organic menu options, I chose this café for lunch while exploring the town of Biggleswade. Unfortunately I was very disappointed. I chose roasted vegetables with goats cheese on gluten free bread with salad garnish and the juice of the month, which was blackberry and pear with ginger. After expressly stating I didn't want my sandwich toasted, it was lukewarm and somewhat crunchy. The vegetables were hardly cooked, cold and minimalistic with just a smear of cheese. Having promised local grown leaves, the salad was unattractive, dry and a mere couple of leaves and not much more. The juice was nondescript and at 3.50 was highly overpriced. In fact I felt that I had been grossly overcharged for the whole experience. I was also not happy about the various people popping in and out of the kitchen who were not appropriately dressed or indeed did not appear to actually work there.

I went in here on Christmas Eve (after Carol singing - she's not bad !) and joined in "The Boar's Head Carol" by the fire as I warmed up with a tankard of warm mead. I explained (but not in verse - as I'm NOT a Poet and know it). "Landlord" I said "Pigeon Feet Pie all round, for everbody !" to which he replied "Nobody fancy a square one then ? Or one with a haunch of squirrel, wot licked me in the kichen this very morning ?" I took him up on THAT and it tasted "grand" as the Irish say; or "Champion !" as Bill Anderson said before he launched into "Ilkley Moor, bar T'at". Once the singing started, it was Bedlam. George Druce gave us "There was an old farmer, who had an old sow" which Betty Andersen sang with several Ladies from the Luton Girl's Choir. I ordered more mead, port and stilton cheese, before - bless my soul if wasn't Mrs Cratchit (flushed but smiling) with the pudding - like a speckled cannon-ball, so hard and firm, blazing in half of half a quartern of ignited brandy, and bedight with Christmas holly stuck in the top. And the bill was only thruppence ! I ventured to propose the toast "A Merry Christmas to us all, my dears. God bless us !" And Tiny Tim, who was sat on a small stool by the fire cried "God bless us, every one !"
