The Coundon Hotel in Coventry

It's my local. It's always ther when you need it! It's not expensive, food is decent, and it's a very short walk in to town. 5 out of 5 from me. Just thought I would add to this. Just called in for breakfast for the first time, wanted to check the had the Arsenal game on on Wednesday night. Three of us all had the Big Brealfast, we were all supprised as to how good it was, it was a 10 out of 10 from all three of us. I'll be back for another one very soon!

I recently visited the coundon and I have to say that the customer service, food and atmosphere was top notch. Leigh definitely makes the experience first class. His professional and hilarious approach makes for a fun experience whether you sing at karaoke, have some good grub or decide to just have a drink with some friends. Leigh will make your experience better.

Came in today and from start to finish had a lovely time, 1st of all my little one wanted to get a toy from the machine which wasn’t working, the manager Kelly went above and beyond to sort it out so that she got her little toy. The service we had from Naomi was brilliant and she was very chatty and helpful, then the food came out and it was beautiful so compliments to the chef Kayleigh it was quick, tasty, fresh and piping hot We usually use a different sizzling but we are now going to use this as our go to

Good food and good friendly staff

As a low carb vegetarian with a gluten intolerance, it’s fabulous to find a restaurant flexible and obliging enough to adjust their offerings to my atypical needs. Whilst hubby tucked in to his ribs with fries, my halloumi was served minus the rice or fries, but with a lovely range of (extra veg). It was so good that I asked if the halloumi I couldn’t manage could be boxed and the very friendly and obliging staff did just that. It’s so refreshing to find this level of service. My only critique is that the decor could be smartened up a little, but that did not detract from our experience.

Service was friendly and fast. Food was mostly excellent, though the sweet corn cob with the beef rib was awful and thought the amount of beef rib was a bit small

I love coming to the coundon pub for breakfast and it's always perfect and the staff are extremely nice and always go above and beyond for me and my friends especially Kaylee and Lee x

Cracking dinner! Had the beef short rib with Mac and cheese and the Mrs had the giant gyros. Both dishes looked exactly how they did on the menu which doesn’t happen often. Passed my thanks on to the kitchen team as we really enjoyed it. Only minor issue is that we were checked on twice and table was cleared while one of us was still eating but food made up for it. The food in here is always excellent, reasonably priced and well presented. The staff are all friendly. We eat her a few times a month. We booked a table for 28 people and added 5 more guests. They still managed to get everyone's food out at the same time and still perfect

We came for my mums birthday meal, food was brilliant, we went to order desert and we were told kitchens closed No. We were a minute passed it closing apparently. Chef cleared our table but didn't ask if we wanted anything else nor did they say kitchen was closing. Food great but you need to train your staff in customer service, will not be back any time soon

I came here craving some good curly fries and got exactly what I was looking for! The rest of the food was great too - the only downers to the evening were a loud atmosphere with a screaming infant and clashing music, and the lengthy time it took us to receive our food. We followed up at the counter and were told that they hadn't received an order, only for the food to arrive immediately after placing another. Service in general seemed like something we had to seek out rather than something readily available. But the curly fries though...

Excellent pub. The manager Kelly has been fantastic throughout. We wanted to plan a party and she listened and offered us best possible options. I didn't have to look elsewhere.

I have been going to this place for some time now, the food and staff are worth the journey there.

We went in after the school run as a last minute decision. My father had a gyros and said it was delicious. My son had the kids' pizza, exactly as described, and he ate the lot. My daughter had the children's always breakfast, which was a lot bigger than I expected, and i have the gammon. All very hot, fresh, and tasty. The lady at the till encouraged us to order our puddings at the same time so we could take advantage of the kids meal deal which was kind as if we had ordered after we wouldn't of been able to us the deal.

Have a a couple of private functions here. Staff are fantastic. Food is fabulous. Yesterday I had my daughter’s baby shower here, was all very smooth. Just generally a great little pub.

Had a family breakfast this morning,1 classic brekkie,1 big breakfast,2 works baps.Well what can I say apart from cooked superbly,great portions,nice and hot and a very efficient service.i highly recommend a visit for breakfast at the coundon hotel.Hats off to the chefs.Thankyou and see you all soon.

A great pub with wonderful staff

Litteraly Just ate the best tasting Beef rib ever, tastes better than Hickory smoke house and that takes some beating 💓 😋

Perfect meal for a family of 16. We always struggle to get a good meal out for all of us. The service and the food were both Brill. Leigh is a fantastic barman always makes a fuss of everyone. Best local pub around

Great food, great service (especially from Leigh), there was 14 of us in for dinner, without booking or pre ordering and the food came out in great time, all hot and fresh. The manager engaged and made sure everything was good. Its always diffucult getting a table for so many of us and usually have to pre order and often the food comes out wrong or cooked 3 days in advance so to visit the local pub and receive such good service and food was so refreshing! Well done The Coundon!

Came for a family meal for 14 people. It's never easy with that amount of people but the food and service were outstanding. All of the meals came out together, and were cooked perfectly.
