I came here craving some good curly fries and got exactly what I was looking for! The rest of the food was great too - the only downers to the evening were a loud atmosphere with a screaming infant and clashing music, and the lengthy time it took us to receive our food. We followed up at the counter and were told that they hadn't received an order, only for the food to arrive immediately after placing another. Service in general seemed like something we had to seek out rather than something readily available. But the curly fries though...

Excellent pub. The manager Kelly has been fantastic throughout. We wanted to plan a party and she listened and offered us best possible options. I didn't have to look elsewhere.

I have been going to this place for some time now, the food and staff are worth the journey there.

Took couple from care home for lunch staff were friendly and food was amazing, visited again today still amazing service and food

We went in after the school run as a last minute decision. My father had a gyros and said it was delicious. My son had the kids' pizza, exactly as described, and he ate the lot. My daughter had the children's always breakfast, which was a lot bigger than I expected, and i have the gammon. All very hot, fresh, and tasty. The lady at the till encouraged us to order our puddings at the same time so we could take advantage of the kids meal deal which was kind as if we had ordered after we wouldn't of been able to us the deal.

Have a a couple of private functions here. Staff are fantastic. Food is fabulous. Yesterday I had my daughter’s baby shower here, was all very smooth. Just generally a great little pub.

Had a family breakfast this morning,1 classic brekkie,1 big breakfast,2 works baps.Well what can I say apart from cooked superbly,great portions,nice and hot and a very efficient service.i highly recommend a visit for breakfast at the coundon hotel.Hats off to the chefs.Thankyou and see you all soon.

Litteraly Just ate the best tasting Beef rib ever, tastes better than Hickory smoke house and that takes some beating 💓 😋

Great food, great service (especially from Leigh), there was 14 of us in for dinner, without booking or pre ordering and the food came out in great time, all hot and fresh. The manager engaged and made sure everything was good. Its always diffucult getting a table for so many of us and usually have to pre order and often the food comes out wrong or cooked 3 days in advance so to visit the local pub and receive such good service and food was so refreshing! Well done The Coundon!

Perfect meal for a family of 16. We always struggle to get a good meal out for all of us. The service and the food were both Brill. Leigh is a fantastic barman always makes a fuss of everyone. Best local pub around

Came for a family meal for 14 people. It's never easy with that amount of people but the food and service were outstanding. All of the meals came out together, and were cooked perfectly.

It's my local. It's always ther when you need it! It's not expensive, food is decent, and it's a very short walk in to town. 4.5 out of 5 from me.

We booked a table for my sons 16th birthday for 15 people. We had a side room so were able to fully enjoy the experience. We were served by Casey and Kelly

I went in for some drinks with friends. The weekly Rock n Roll bingo was on and the atmosphere was fantastic!! So friendly and the guy on the mic was hilarious! Great service and a good time had by all

Good, friendly local pub. I'd go again, though not to everyone's taste, if I'm honest as it is a little too local.

The atmosphere, staff and setting itself is lovely. The only thing i would say to improve on is the waiting period between courses, it was more than a 15 minute wait between starter and mains and then we had to ask for our desserts to be served. Also, the laying it on chick burger, the textures and tastes do not work well together. It wouldve been better for it to be just grilled chicken and mayonaise instead of bbq sauce, the taste was just off.

We visited on new menu launch , the food we had was amazing, love the new menu.

Tried out a couple of new items off the new menu, the halloumi flat bread meal was amazing, my son had the Greek Burger and said it was really good and every bite was delicious (hi 5 to the kitchen) . Thankyou to the team who made us welcome and made our experience a pleasure :).

The food was really good and hot and very nice and polite staff. Always friendly, a pleasant pub to go to for food or just drinks x

Great pub and staff not to expensive

I have never been to such a place where the food was so awful. I ordered lasagne when it arrived it was burnt around the edges and frozen in the middle. I took it back to the bar and the bar person took it to the kitchen, it came back still cold in the middle. I returned it to the bar and the bar person said it was ok because she saw the chef put the thermometer in the middle of the lasagne. I stuck my finger in the middle of the lasagne because I knew it was still cold. The bar person tutted and walked off, I said I would like gammon instead, the gammon arrived the peas were frozen and the gammon was raw. Absolutely disgusted with service and definitely the food.

Excellent affordable food. Can't express enough how amazing all the staff are. I visit regularly with my mother who has dementia the kindness , empathy and understanding is above and beyond. We had Christmas Dinner here and it was delicious with staff creating a lovely atmosphere

Excellent burgers, brilliant steaks, wonderful puddings and amazing staff, so glad to have this place in walking distance to me Edit: sadly it feels like the food has gone a bit downhill, sometimes the chicken is super tough and rubbery, still moist though, it's weird and somewhat unpleasant, the large plates of food like the double hunters chicken are normal plates of food just served on massive platters so the portion of chips just looks silly surrounded by white plate. The Sundays are in huge bowls and look impressive but it's 90% whipped cream out of a can

When I want to go for food anywhere I only ever come to the Coundon as I enjoy the variety of the menu and the staff are all really friendly, myself and my friend make a point of coming once a month as we always know we are given great service with a smile
