been here many times pretty good for fish and chips that isn't by the sea side and costing more than a tank of petrol owner is friendly, polite and makes you feel welcome. loving the giant piggies in blankets, have yet to ask if he will batter one yet. Fish scraps are good. staple of battered sausage and chips is good.

Simply the best Fish and Chips in Watford and for miles around. I've tried them all and I can't believe I haven't tried this place before in the 15 years I've been in Watford. Excellent batter - so many places get this wrong and you end up with a soggy and floury coating, here it's perfectly crisp and tasty, even after a drive home. Fish is clearly fresh, the owner will even show you before cooking. All cooked to order. Mountains of chips, also cooked very well.

Fish and Chips were overcooked not the high standard l am use to from The Corner Plaice.

I've been living in Watford for 12 years and this is the first time I've tried this place. All I can say is, it's outstanding, not just for this area but it's one of the best Fish & Chips I've ever had. The batter was perfect (so many places get this wrong), as was the fish and the portions are HUGE. My son had one of the equally massive sausages wrapped in bacon, again, very good indeed. Service was nice and friendly and we didn't wait long for a freshly cooked takeaway. I wish I had found this 'plaice' a long time ago. (Banana in the photo for scale)

Friendly place, helpful service and always delicious, generous portions. We are not regular but we are very happy customers for nearly 20 years and last night was no exception

For the price the portions were small.

The order was delivered next door. Even though I went out and was told it wasn’t my order. App said it was delivered. Went out and it was on the floor on the stove at the next door neighbours!!!

Ordered for 1820. Driver left takeaway at 1835. Noticed that driver went into Rickmansworth on map. He was there for quite a while and there was no contact. Eventually he arrived at my house at 1907. I refused to accept the order as far as I was concerned the food was 40 minutes late. The driver claimed he had to get petrol but I was watching the map and he didn't go back to the takeaway. He also couldn't speak English and I had to speak into his phone to translate what I was saying. Could I please have a refund as the order was very late with no information received as to what was happening

I booked a slot over 1 Hour from delivery time as needed to eat at 7.30 as my friend had to go somewhere else. food did not come until 8.15 , so we had one meal uneaten and my friend went to work hungry with a sandwich that I quickly made when we realised the food would not be here.

My Fish and Chips was delivered hot the Fish was cooked perfect very large chips too much for a portion but the food was delicous.

We had a fabulous portion of sausage & chips x 2 ~ mine was a Lincolnshire sausage & my partner's was a black pudding. Very unusual flavours & the sausages were a generous size (bigger than usual) and very meaty. Highly recommend ~ you will not be disappointed.

Great little local chippy. Serves soft and crispy hot fresh chips with salt, vinegar and paprika chip seasoning 😋 parking is free at the front too and not overly busy.

The scampi served here is delicious.

The fish was drastically smaller than I have had from there before.

I'm so fortunate to have this chippy on my doorstep. Staff are lovely. The food is cooked to order, in particular the fish. Usually there's a queue outside anytime I walk past, which tells you everything you need to know about its popularity. Very tasty and I've not had a bad experience! Only good.

I visited The Corner Plaice for the first time this evening, and bought a couple of portions of cod and chips for dinner. Unfortunately, I didnt share in the good experience of so many others who have left positive reviews. The food was fried in old oil. Both the chips and the batter on the cod had turned brown from it. The batter was crusty on the top but the fish was drenched in oil beneath it.

Good fish and chips but too expensive. I had a tasty large cod and chips. Although the meal was good, it was not good enough to justify its price. I have had better fish and chips around watford for a lot less.

Best fish n chips by a long shot. Fresh fried, non greasy, the batter was flavoursome and crispy. Tartar sauce that perfect tang. Service with a smile by a lovely guy. Parking out front is handy too.

There was far, far, far, FAR too much of it. It is positively unhealthy to give out mountains of chips that sit 3" deep on the plate and cover more than half its surface. Is anyone really that greedy that they need a portion that size? Fish was good but again there was no choice of size. Instead of selling "one size fits all" boxes, why not offer, small, medium or large? Sorry, but too much of a good thing puts some of us off eating. I hate to have to throw away food which I've paid for when it was not my choice to have that quantity in the first place.

The delivery driver called from the wrong address, saying she was outside. When I told her the address she should be at, she asked for the postcode - surely she has all this information for delivery??? By the time she delivered it (and was very rude), it was stone cold and chewy and I couldn't eat it.

My first time ordering from here. Fish was very good and a reasonable size but the chips were somewhat undercooked and also about twice the quantity needed.Prices are high compared with other establishments locally, so had expected to be blown away, but was not. Would prefer a lower price with less chips. Also, to find an unexpected "service" charge on top of the delivery charge added to making this an expensive meal.

Dont eat fish and chips so much these days! But this place is one of those popular places I visit when I do! Very nice!

Edit: place has changed alot since being here now... Is now my go to place for fish and chips. Weird opening/ closing times but apart from good place to go too 2 years ago Really overpriced Chip-Shop... 1. Paying around £3.00 for Large Chips and being served basically Extra Small portion of chips 2. The times they are open are not normal... Normally Chip-Shops are open 10/11am to 9/10pm this place is open at really random times. Food Rating: (4/10) REALLY Greasy food. Suggestion: Think they need to open at normal times. And maybe stop spending so much money on Watford Radio Ad's and serve us what we pay for.... Sorry

Unfortunately the Cod was very overcooked, dry and chewy, but gave it to the cat instead who enjoyed it! Delicious chips as always. Fast delivery service.

Very poor experience - served soggy chips that had clearly been hanging around for too long. A fish and chip shop should be able to get the chips right at least.

Fab food delivered fast. On the staff of the restaurant because it’s delivery service so this doesn’t make any sense.

Very good cod and chips but about a third of the chips werent there, every time we order a cod and chips box they are full with chips but this time there was a lot less. Hoping this was just a one off oversight by someone in store and not anything to do with the delivery driver who was a bit abrupt when we opened the door and one side of the box was even slightly open, tried not to think about if some had been taken but was concerning, this wasnt the driver who usually delivers so will see if he comes again next time.

Tasted great as always. Delivery driver wasn’t good for this one, food came damaged out the box. Looks like the box had a bumpy ride or wasn’t looked after. Cant blame the restaurant for that.

Fish and battered sausage devoured (delicious) - just what we fancied! Scampi a little watery - slightly disappointed. Massive portions of chips, so quite a few wasted as can’t request small or large separately. Too many for the children - therefore ended up being really expensive! Kids were happy 😊 ! Nice treat.

Decided on an impromptu fish and chip supper and boy, was it good. We went for the large cod each and they were enormous, fresh, thick fish that had been cooked to perfection. We all thoroughly enjoyed it. Highly recommend.

The driver arrived on time, stopped outside and then drove off without checking the car in the drive or the number of the house and then had to come back. He said he couldn't see the number - but I had specifically told him to stop (where he did) and that the drive was the one with the brown car in it. Not difficult, but...

We tried to contact the restaurant after the food was delivered as the fish was not good - there was no response - we then tried to contact just eat but had no luck - we spent £29 on food we could not eat

Very enjoyable cod in batter and chips - not overly greasy. The fish batter is crispy. And not soggy. The chip portions are huge though and a bit excessive but nice chips. It’s be nice if they’d offer more variety in their menu beyond their box deals.

Ordered cod and chips x 2 from here on the back of hearing that they had won an award for best chippy in Hertfordshire. Either they were having a bad day or the judges have poor judgement. Very greasy, the fish and chips tasted like it had been cooked in old oil. The fish batter was also slightly burnt. Overall very disappointing.

We have had The Corner Plaice food from time to time for several years and this was the first time we have had a delivery. It certainly did not disappoint! Excellent portion size, arrived hot, no re-heating required. Full marks to The Corner Plaice and Just Eat.

I went for the first time recently and I will return. Really friendly service, amazing portions of cod and chips. The quality of the food was amazing and great value for money. Cannot recommend highly enough.
