Barkers Fish And Chip Shop in Three Rivers

I know it was late but I am sure they were very busy, Did not make any difference to me. Meal was delicious as usual. Delivered by a lovely young lad.

The chips were the nicest we’ve had in ages from barkers they were perfect and the fish was delicious definitely the best fish in Watford

20 minutes late was not happy and just eat said it had been delivered when it hadn’t even left the restaurant

EDIT : Sadly the last couple of times the quality has went downhill with much smaller portions and uncooked batter. Sausage seemed different and lower quality too. Shame. Barker's are an absolutely perfect chip shop and are a clear family favourite for us. Delicious tasty food and lovely service from them, cannot fault this restaurant at all. A true gem of the area.

For the first time ever I did not enjoy my fish and chips. The meal was tepid and looked as though it was left over from lunch time. Not nice at all. Sorry.

Really disappointed tonight. Children had friends over and the quality was poor tonight….unusual so hopefully better next time!

Just spent 23 quid on 2 bits of batter with next to no fish inside and about 8 chips. Won't be going here again.

I’ve i’ve not been before and I wasn’t sure what to order so I ordered standard cod and chips for £12.50. I had two small pieces of cod and a lot of chips lots of vinegar and salt in a box then in a paper bag, I got them homeopened it up. They were still hot and crisp and delicious so I should definitely go again. More than enough for one lady of advanced years. I shall adjust my purchase next time.

The fish, for the first time ever (15 years) , was " a long way from the sea". Nobody's perfect, these guys are always quite close,

Absolutely delicious. Very top quality fish - Rock Salmon is phenomenal. Unusual to have the bone removed and it's all the better for it. I'll always be asking for that every where. Batter and chips very light with no extra oil swimming around. Best chippy in the area. I noticed there's a negative review below but the attached photo is NOT this Chip shop. I'd suggest you ignore that review as its clearly spurious

Decent bit of fish, I have ordered from here a few times. Fish seems a little over drenched in oil than usuals, and little thick of the batter too. Good portion for a large. Staff are nice and friendly.

Barkers provided 60 fantastic meals for us and delivered to the venue for our quiz night. They provided a great varied menu for us that we ordered in advance. All boxed and labelled and delivered whilst still hot and delicious. Thank you so much, everyone said how good their food was. Would definitely use again.

Lovely meal once again. I do love Barkers fish and chips. Ordered a sausage and chips for tomorrows dinner to save me cooking and also thinking what to have. Looking forward to it already.

Staff (the guy behind the counter) extremely extremely rude. Young waitress very pleasant. We arrived at 3.30 pm for takeaway. the young girl advised open for take away the guy behind the counter advised closed. Finally they agreed it was open for takeaway. Also when paying the guy mumbling away, clearly didn’t want us to be there. Will not return again based on this.not a very pleasant experience.

I know it was early but I did'nt mind one little bit. Fish was nice and crispy as I like it. Also enjoyed the chips. Overall . Excellent as usual.

Wasn’t as good as normal. Chips were nearly cold. Battered sausage didn’t taste the same. Will use again but maybe will try somewhere else next time

A great little plaice (get it?), Which does just what you need! Great portion sizes, not too expensive and friendly service to boot. They do a range of bundles that are written by hand, so always worth a visit to see what they're doing in-shop!

What an amazing team at Barkers, as always delivered delicious order on time but due to my mistake I forgot to order the fish but they quickly delivered our second order quickly as possible and added extra chips in case our earlier chips had turned cold - this level of customer service is so very rare, thanks so so very much, we really appreciate you and are very grateful for your kind, friendly and amazing food and service!

I used to come here on a regular basis to get my lunch each week. NOT ANYMORE, the price increase is ridiculous and it is not worth it. I used to get a lunchtime deal that costs £5.00 For the same meal they are now charging £7.50 (without a drink). Inflation is understandable but those price increases are not worth it. I won’t be back.

Called shop and they said we didn’t order any which we said wasn’t true and if they look clearly in to their order history as our addresses are saved to our phone numbers they can clearly see we always order chips. They then said we would have to wait 30 mins so we didn’t have a choice if we wanted them. So part 2 of our dinner arrived. I asked my husband how much did they charge and he said £8!! I looked online and large chips were £5.60. They charged delivery again!! Rang them back and they said as we didn’t order chips in first order they would charge delivery. Absolute rubbish and untruths so we will never order from them again. To finish this review I would like to add that this is the third time they have got our order wrong but the thought we would give them the benefit and in the uncertain times of today for shop owners we would order. This time our purse is permanently shut!!!

Food is good. Although the notes I added were ignored when requesting vinegar on the chips. The shop information stated "Low Delivery Charge" which was the another £4.50, I don't consider this to be a low delivery charge.
