The Corner Cafe in Conwy

This lovely cafe now appears to be closed down which is a shame as it was one of the few remaining cafes that served good standard British fare at a fair price, hope that I’m wrong and that it reopens in the same format

Visited for family Sunday breakfast. Really good piping hot food👍 Breakfast menu is great as you pick each item off the breakfast list so if you are a fussy one like me ‘full english but without the…..’this is ideal.👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍 Poached eggs were cooked perfect! 👍 Lovely well organised staff & service 👍 Cafe was spotless 👍 See you soon!

This was my first and certainly won’t be my last visit to the Corner Cafe. I met my friend for lunch after she recommended the place and I wasn’t disappointed. It’s a family run place and we had the warmest welcome. I had the cheese, spinach and mushroom omelette which was the best I have ever had. Packed full of everything and so tasty. I expected a few leaves as a salad garnish but couldn’t have been more wrong. The salad was a meal in itself, such care was taken in the presentation, even the cucumber was peeled. Delicious. I also tried Emma’s home made soup which was gorgeous too. What a find this place is. Definitely pop in if you’re in the area but to be honest it’s worth a trip out. It’s unusual to find a family run business that is still putting their heart and soul into the food and customers. Simple yet very tasty.

Went with my wife and 2 girls under 5 for breakfast. Warm and friendly atmosphere. Reasonably priced and very good quality food. Very friendly and helpful staff. The girls food came out cut up without even asking. Very clean and comfortable space. Even the girls ate all their food without fuss (which a lot of parents can appreciate is quite a task sometimes) The way the menu works for a breakfast is also a plus, it means you can order what you like, so little waste, and what you want doesn't have to be an extra/side order. 10 out of 10. We will definitely be returning soon. It set us up for a lovely day out, thank you all very much.

Having been turned away by a Cafe on the front because we were a large group, this Cafe was a real find. We sat outside, the family age range is 2 to 69 and we were greeted with a friendly and professional service and nothing was too much trouble. Fabulous breakfast all fresh ingredients and beautifully cooked. This cafe also has the cleanest loos I’ve ever been in. We have been back twice more.

Basic menu but beautifully prepared. Service attentive… server asked if I wanted tap water as well as she saw I had paracetamol in my hand… bit of a wait for food as each item individually prepared… we had Welsh e Rarebit! Generous portions and the salad garnish was more of a full on meal in itself. I may well return…

We were very pleased with our choice to eat here. Food cooked fresh delivered nice and hot. Huw makes great omelettes!

Well what can I say, I built the breakfast and it was excellent cooked fresh every time . I had 2 bacon, 2 sausage, 2 fried eggs, 2 black pudding mushroom,beans and tomato also comes with 2 slices of toast. It was to die for another guest had the mushroom omelette which was the best omelette she has ever had. When in Rhos on Sea you need to check this place out.

We ate here for a late breakfast, the cooked breakfast was great as you could build your own and have exactly what you want, the mushroom omelette that I had was the best I have ever eaten, the quality of the other breakfast items was top quality, the staff were lovely and the service was great, I would highly recommend here.

After a walk into Rhos decided to have a late breakfast. Chose here as you can sit outside and admire the view. We both had a sandwich each, a cold drink and a pot of tea for two. The sandwiches were very nice. The service was good but had to wait from ordering to getting around 10 mins. The bill was 50p short of £20. Won’t be going again.

I want to say a massive thank you to you all for all our amazing breakfasts and hot drinks this morning. There was 12 of us as we had family visiting. All drinks and food piping hot freshly prepared and cooked to order. All staff polite, caring and hard working. Thank you so much again.

What a fab cafe,even though cafe was very busy .The young male server ,came and took my ordef straight aeau Nice tk find acafe that does proper thick toast .Lovely clean cafe &toilets.Very nice staff.Would say to any one visiting Rhos ,pop in and try it.

Went here for lunch. Every table was full and we were told that there would be a wait. There was quite a long wait, as the food is all cooked to order. We had Welsh rarebit and it was worth the wait.

What a great little place to sit and enjoy some really nice food with helpful staff. I would recommend and use again if ever I am in Rhos on Sea.

Went here for lunch and it was absolutely lovely, would highly recommend. Portion size was amazing, £8.90 for the “Super Club Toasty”. Definitely worth the money! Didn’t wait long for the meal to come out, and the presentation was very good! Will be returning!

Called in by chance and was not disappointed. Both the breakfast bap and cheese on toast were a generous size and just about worth the money.

They “lost” my order. Apparently the wind took it! The table next to me had there order before ours yet we ordered ages before. Mistakes happen, but I’m not sure why this did. They also let dogs in and feed them sausages. I don’t like...

Today was the second time my friend and I have eaten here this week. Lovely omelettes with salad and coleslaw first visit and today soup of the day, absolutely delicious with doorstep sized sandwiches. Wonderfully presented.

Spend quite some time in North Wales and this place is a gem. People are normally queuing outside at 10am waiting for opening time! The “Corner breakfast” is easily the best in that area, all cooked fresh to order and nothing is too much trouble. Owners are accommodating and polite. It’s a gem in a beautiful little seaside setting. Might be a little wait due to demand but worth it all the way. Excellent.

Popped in last weekend for a late lunch. Ordered the farmhouse cheddar and onion toastie with chips and coleslaw. My fella had the club sandwich with chips and coleslaw. The portions are very generous and tasted lovely. Good quality at a good price. The staff were polite and friendly.

My wife and I dropped into the Corner Cafe for a quick 'Cuppa'. We were served by a very proffessional and attentive young man, who was backed up by his more mature colleagues behind the counter. We had really good coffee and a pot of tea, plus a brilliant slice of Lemon Cake - lovely.

We came here for lunch on an afternoon visit to Rhos on Sea. At firsy glance the prices on the menu appear a little on the high side, but when the food arrives the portion sizes are very generous and beautifully presented. Excellent value for money. The staff are very friendly and welcoming.

Popped in for a coffee; first visit for me. Coffee and service was fine but the overwhelming frying smell from the cooking hit me when I walked in and stayed on my clothes afterwards. If this could be sorted the place would be lovely.

Heard a lot about the breakfasts here, ordered the big breakfast,....huge!!, very nice quality, plenty of it,freshly made and piping hot!, had an additional plate and shared it between us, really lovely, coffee also good quality, the place could do with a bit of a make over,windows sills and blinds a bit grubby hence only giving 4 instead of a 5, but based on food and service, it is second to none!

You can count on Corner Cafe for having a HUGE, great value tasty breakfast and friendly service. It won't let you down! This place is humble, so don't judge the book by it's cover. Try it and and I am sure you will be back. Also... veggies are well catered for. The veggie breakfast is fantastic, including those wonderful meat-free sausages!

Looks like it’s off of the 50’s BUT the service is wonderful, tasty food, big portions and lots of choice. Would definitely return! Not sure but looks like a family business. Give it a go!

Wow amazing breakfast. All cooked fresh fab staff nothing to much trouble had our great niece with us only 18 months old she had toast the lovely lady even cur it into soldiers for her. I had poached eggs and bacon on toast the best poached eggs I've had xx thank you

At nearly £30 for 3 breakfast and tea you would be forgiven for thinking this was a bit expensive . The food arrived and the order was slightly wrong with one breakfast having fried egg where we had asked for scrambled. The food was tasty and the portions very large some would argue to large as the amount of waste on people’s plates was eye opening . Personally I think they should offer a smaller breakfast on the menu at a smaller price as I for one hate seeing waste even if it as been paid for . Great place if you have a large appetite but with no smaller alternative I wouldn’t go again.

Went for lunch, cafe very busy, drinks arrived fairly quickly, but a wait for the food. There is a very small area to prepare food behind the counter and it would appear they cannot cope when very busy. Food good and portions large.

Called in the other day for take away bacon sandwiches, fantastic great value enjoyed so much called on again today with my mum for breakfast of poached eggs and bacon on toast Again fantastic service nothing to much thank you.

Wow! What more can be said! With my stomach exploding from their very generous portions and fantastic quality at that, the prices are good, with a view of the sea, a clean bathroom and friendly staff, this is the place to eat!

Just popped in approximately 1:30 Sat Sept 29 2018 hoping for a coffee and a breakfast bap before my next appointment. Americano coffee arrived - extremely strong. 30 minutes later, coffee gone, no sign of food. On visiting the counter there seemed to be no hope of an imminent snack.i wondered whether the kitchen had equipment or human resources capable of meeting demands.

What a brilliant place, from the minute we opened the door to the minute we closed it on the way out, food was first class, staff even better, and what a wonderful location on the prom, just by the beach

Hard to find a cafe that does a proper fry up but this does. Food was great and all cooked fresh served with thick sliced bread. Just glad it's down hill to to the seaside from here 😂

This cafe is so much better than we expected. There's a good choice on the menu, the food was lovely and the prices are very reasonable. The staff were very helpful and polite.

Called in last Sunday afternoon for tea and sandwiches. No complaints about the food. Staff very friendly. Difficult to understand, however, why there such a delay between placing our order and actually receiving it. 45 minutes is pushing the realms of acceptability.

Take my mum every month here, but it had deteriorated, the baked potatoes were old and horrible. Our last visit my mum who's now 89 told them it was rubbish and we were not coming back. It has changed ownership some things ok but my baked potatoes were purple on the inside..... now found new destination to take my mum

Called for breakfast at 09:50, door was wide open but told very curtly "Not open!". Asked if we could sit and wait till they opened in 5 mins ..."outside, yeah".

Called in for breakfast today 01Jul2018 so very glad we did , food was hot and very tasty. We had the standard corner breakfast Ann had scrambled eggs and I had fried, everything cooked to perfection and lots of it. Best toast we have ever had as well and enough butter to spread all your toast. So glad we called in this morning, took a little time to get our food but they were very busy and you don't mind waiting when the food is so good. If we ever go back to Rhos on sea we will call in again :)

Visited here on a tue afternoon, was very busy, the staff were very attentive and food was to die for! I had poached eggs on toast the best I’ve ever had my partner had the super club sandwich he thoroughly enjoyed it, the portions were huge will definitely be back! They have gained a regular customer.

As a local have passed this cafe hundreds of times but never really thought of popping in. Well I finally did visit with my family and was not disappointed excellent service, friendly staff, good food and value for money. My veggie breakfast was tasty, wholesome and good quality and took some eating with its 4 thick slices of toast. From a local who will be returning very soon.

Very slow service, took 40 min to make 2no toasted sandwich!! Food was ok when it finally came with no explanation for the delay and a overpriced menu for a cafe. Will not be returning.

Stoped here after a long walk and ordered coffee and a slice of cake. Both were very gokd and in a very relaxed surroundings. My dog was welcomed with a big bowl of water too.

Friendly, excellent food, large portions we had breakfast , beans on toast , a tin and a half of beans with thick crispy toast, cheese on toast two toast, two types of cheese, really tasty. I will definitely be coming back

Popped in for a cappuccino which was very good indeed. Came out smelling like a cooked breakfast because the cooking area isn't separated from the eating area - a relatively minor point which wouldn't stop me going there again.

Felt it was expensive for what it is, eggs were hard and toast was cold and the service is slow. 2 staff aren’t enough when it’s busy. Probably wouldn’t go again as felt nearly £30 for 2 breakfasts and 4 drinks is very over priced especially when they use cheap cartons of juice and charged £1.70 for a small glass.

Had a delicious lunch of tuna mayo jacket potato with a lovely and colourful side salad and home made colslaw here today. We were both ravenous, having walked the coastal path from Llandudno to Llandrillo yn Rhos in the wind and rain. Excellent value for money, warm welcome and plenty to choose from on the menue. Had been for a walk along the sea front and came across the corner cafe, after just stepping off the prom front. Wow what a find. Stunning cooked breakfast and toast. My partner order the Corner Breakfast and it didn't dissapointed. Amazing value for money and plenty of hot cooked items with lovely thick granary bread and salted butter, which is a treat. I can imagine you could be in for a wait when it's busy but luckily we only waited 15 mins . Can defiantly recommend a visit if in the area...

The corner cafe is popular for good reasons, fabulous food always fresh and cooked to order so be patient, the staff are fabulous , quality 10/10 and a good location ...... Regular visitor.

My friend showed me this cafe and how thankful am I?? Lovely polite staff, amazing food, lovely area. You do have to wait a little bit for food so makd sure you are not in a rush. However, the wait is always worth it for me .

We found the perfect breakfast!

Have visited here many times. The Breakfast are fantastic and well worth the money but the only downside is the wait for the food. You have to wait up to an hour for your food which to me says that they need more staff cooking and prepare several meals at once. The food when it arrives is very good. The staff are excellent, very friendly, courteous and hard-working. I would recommend this place if you are not in a rush for your food as the way is too long hence the three stars. Cannot fault the food only the time it takes to get to you.

I visited today with my mum for lunch. The wait was quite long but there was only one lady waiting on and the cafe was quite full. The food was lovely and well worth the wait, Very fresh and plenty of it. Value for money indeed. The waitress was really friendly too. I have had lunch here many times and I will definitely be back.

Called in for a late lunch with my mother and two children (8 & 10), as my daughters requested to eat here. We arrived at the cafe mid afternoon around 2:15pm avoiding the lunchtime rush. When we entered there were only a few tables taken so we were able to find one for ourselves instantly. The waitress was quick to take our order and the drinks arrived promptly, however unfortunately I can't say the same for the food. We ordered two omelettes, a sausage sandwich and a plate of beans on toast which took over an hour to arrive at our table, which was not ideal with two hungry impatient children and given the fact I also had a train to catch!!!! However when the food arrived it was beautifully presented and tasty! The omelettes were huge and fluffy with plenty of filling, and the local sausages were extremely tasty! We all thoroughly enjoyed our meals. The only downside was the wait which is why I have only rewarded 4 stars on this review. I work in a busy kitchen myself and completely understand the wait for food being made freshly to order, but over an hour for 4 simple dishes during a quiet time was just a bit too long! All in all I would return here, and would recommend other people give the cafe a try, the food was lovely and fresh when it arrived and the staff were pleasant too! My only advice would be if you're visiting be prepared for a bit of a wait :)

We visited last week after coming across this place as we walked around. Even though it was the end of the day and they were soon to be closing, they were still happy to serve us. The food was excellent and quick and the staff were friendly and helpful. We had a dog so we sat outside, but the lady brought a bowl of water for the dog and a small plate of sausages, so he didn't feel left out.

At the point of ordering the service was OK apart from the inconvenience of not taking cash. We ordered the food, sat down and waited. And waited. And waited. Trying to be fair, it was at least half an hour and that is a conservative estimate, until some of the food arrived.It arrived in dribs and drabs. Having ordered kippers and bread, I expected them to come together. Not so, the bread came ten minutes later, at which point the kippers had been eaten - rather than leaving them to go cold, and because at this point we were very hungry. The waitress was totally unapologetic, not that I expect it was her personal fault but still... Kippers are really much nicer hot and with bread. That's why I ordered kippers with bread.The quality of the food was OK. The salad was fresh and well presented. Overall it was well presented in fact. The Coke was in a bottle which I prefer. The kippers seemed like the standard boil in the bag type although I don't claim to know how they were cooked in this case. The bread - when it finally arrived was nice and thick and fresh, with plenty of butter.The food may all be cooked from scratch, to order, from fresh etc. but the wait for the simple dishes we ordered was unacceptable. What should have been a quick bite to eat turned into a very long wait with major service issues. Shame as it's a convenient location.

We visit lots of place for breakfast but this one is by far the best around . You cannot fault the food here .

This is the ONLY place for top quality food. A little dearer maybe than some places but I don't mind paying for quality food. Been coming here for 5 + years and still the best. Well done guys

Very basic and limited menu, but the team of three just seemed to have no idea how to serve 11 people even though there was almost no one else in the cafe. Food took an absolute age. One meal at a time, an hour from the first person in our group being served to the last. Sadly just not competent to run a cafe. I have no idea how this place gets good reviews, unless it's just the Monday team. £6 for a plain ham sandwich and £7 for a cheese and tomato toastie? You'd think this was central London.

My mother and I had a very nice 'Light Lunch', the portions are huge. I had the Bacon and Egg on White Bread, awesome dry cured Bacon, 2 runny Eggs. My mother had the Cheese on Toast, 2 full slices!! We finished off with 2 nice hot Lattes, I am a big fan of 'Illy' coffee. The atmosphere is relaxed, the owner and staff efficient and friendly. Will be back again.

I found the cafe very inviting and the staff were happy to accommodate you. They were not pushy about you being there long and the coffee was beautiful and the side biscuit was a treat too.

Had lunch here today, you really can't beat it! We've eaten in several other establishments in Rhos and nothing compares to Corner Café, excellent portions, fantastic flavour and really great value for money!! Would recommend to anyone and will certainly visit again.

Stopped off here for lunch on a busy Saturday. The place was packed and we were informed there was a 45 min wait for food but as we had plenty of time we decided to stay and were so glad we did. Portions when they did arrive were huge and the Cheese toasties had 3 different types of cheese. The bacon was fresh and of a high quality. Also great big tea pots so we had over 4 cups each. Friendly service and cheap prices too. Highly recommended.

We called in for breakfast my husband had full welsh one I had cheese on toast. What can i say was really lovely. Dont think i have ever had better cheese on toast. My husband said he hadn't had a better breakfast in years. Staff lovely friendly and very pleasant. Will definately go again and would recommend.

Popped in today for Lunch and we were amazed by the finest lunch we could have wished for a sandwich, coleslaw and a few chips could not describe the meal we had will call again and recommend to everyone you will not be disappointed

We visited the Corner Cafe on a day trip to the area on 7th May 2017, it was only a brief stop for a coffee and we found the service to be first class, the place was spotlessly clean and the staff were good, our coffee's were really nice especially my Latte, we didnt have food but if in the area again will certainly give it a try, what we saw of other customers looked really tasty, overall this is a really nice cafe and well worth a visit if you are in Rhos.

Called in on a day trip to Rhos-on-Sea for a walk. Only really called in here as it looked cleanest cafe in town. Food was very good - both in quality and decent portions. Would definitely call back when in area again.

as we'd rode a while fancied a caffeine and tasty.... It took a while to get our order, seemed as tho each server thought the other had taken our order. However once it came was great, the coffee and small biscuit hit the spot. As did the Wholemeal cheese on toast (with sliced tomatoe) and pot of tea!

Really tasty breakfast/brunch, good value and very friendly service. We will certainly call again when in the area.

Stopped off in rhos via a trip out to start the day with breakfast... after using other places regularly for many years it was a change to try somewhere else... got to say this breakfast is by far the best ever breakfast we have had quality, presentation, hot and very filling, my only gripe would be the atmosphere lacks some happiness, staff seem very subdued just doing a job no personality or friendliness which is a shame as the food is amazing and worth every penny... it's nice to feel welcome when u return but never felt the welcome back feel which is a shame... have recommended to a number of people and will continue to do so....
