Really lovely place to enjoy an afternoon or evening of delicious food cocktails /sangria or a lovely coffee. Staff are superb so friendly and welcoming and nothing is too much trouble. Decor is beautiful and place is spotlessly clean. Its super close to Ormskirk train station too. Whether you go with friends or family you will be sure of a great time. Prices are really good and theres not a bad thing on the menu We were 4 hungry ladies and had a number of tapas a huge meat and cheese platter couple of jugs of sangria and bill was only £93 Amazing. Be sure to visit you wont regret it

A smashing place with a super friendly atmosphere. I could not do this venue justice in words alone. The staff are superb, the owners are brilliant and they all work together to provide an unrivalled food and drink experience. If you are in Ormskirk then come and visit, you will not be disappointed.

Had a fantastic family birthday lunch at cork, food staff and drinks superb. The staff especially Ricardo and his wife cannot do enough for you. Whenever we have a family occasion this the place to go.

Myself and my husband went today for lunch, i hadnt been before my husband had and it was on his recommendation. I had chicken and mushroom pizza and fries and the husband had a breakfast. Took a little longer to be served which was understandable as it was cooked fresh so well worth the wait. Excellent food, gorgeous place and very friendly helpful gentlemen who was serving, will definitely be back

Fantastic venue decorated beautifully for Christmas, visited this evening with my wife for few drinks and tapas, we were well looked after and enjoyed great food.

Staff very nice,but being charged over £9.00 for 2,125ml glasses of Oyster Bay which you can buy in any supermarket for £8 -10! I'd call that very unfair and greedy! We live in Ormskirk and won't be going back unless prices come down a bit - shame cause nice bar.

They serve this lovely Light Portuguese wine, went once and been back loads, staff remembered us and they are lovely and friendly

Went to the cork today for the third time, had a full English breakfast , excellent food good service and very good value for money, I will be back and would highly recommend

We had the pleasure of celebrating my sisters 21st Birthday here a couple of weeks ago. It was slightly last minute, but the management couldn’t have been more helpful. We opted for the cold buffet option and it was all delicious and very generous portion sizes, the cheese & meat platters in particular. The staff on the night were all very friendly and helpful, we couldn’t fault it! Thanks for making her birthday celebrations so special!

My wife and I had visited Cork previously, but only ever for a few drinks. Last evening we decided to have a bite to eat and ordered some deep fried calamari and croquettes from the tapas menu. The drinks beforehand were fine, in fact the sangria made by the young bartender was excellent. The food however, was certainly not ! The deep fried platter looked and tasted as if they'd bought it in from Iceland : overcooked, rock hard, oily and pretty tasteless. When the young lady came to collect our barely touched plate, she was politely told how awful it was and that I had no desire to pay for it - just the drinks. Some minutes later, a man who I assume was the manger/owner, came to the table and commented on our not liking the food. When told it was overcooked and pretty awful it was greeted with a simple 'OK, so you don't have to pay for the food' whereupon he turned his back on us and walked away. What an ignorant individual ! I see the many negative comments regarding rude staff - I'm not surprised if he is their mentor. Half an apology for the terrible food served would have maybe had me return there one day for drinks. Not now - and I shall do my best to deter would-be diners from setting foot inside the place !

This is an appealing place for lunch. It has a good ambience. Large seating area. Great food, with enough choice. Clean eatery/toilets. Pleasant, helpful Staff. I would recommend.

One member of staff was particularly rude which sadly really let's the place down, would not recommend and would not eat there again

Arrived at the cork bar all tables were full but the top table was free and no reserved sign for a specific time displayed. As a couple we sat had our first drink and was enjoying our afternoon.We asked could we order another drink and this was fine until just after we received them, were asked if we had been told the table was needed for 5pm this should of been the upmost duty of the waitress who served us.I asked was there another table that we could be moved to but yet again bad service from staff did not even come back with an answer.We literally had taken a few sips of our drink and was approached by the owner who said he needed the table!!! Overall what a bad experience to be made to feel we had to leave.The owner said when we next visit he would give us a drink......but to be honest we will not be returning.

Went for breakfast last week, waitress didn’t write our order down- resulting in food arriving at our table incorrectly.. not once but twice! Poached eggs were like bullets, so presuming they’d be resurrected off one of the incorrect orders Also ordered more drinks- which never arrived

We had an enjoyable lunch at The Cork today. Pizzas were good quality and the platters are nice though the indication that they serve 2 must be as a snack as they’re definitely not big enough for a meal for two. Having said that the food prices are very keen and the platters therefore remain good value. Service was very pleasant but a bit chaotic. They took a long time to take our order and to clear the table after we’d eaten. When they eventually did clear the table they left some of the plates behind until our deserts arrived. Desert was lovely especially the almond tart. I would give it another go. Just tighten up the service guys.

We have been here several times and never disappointed. Great food, drink, service and clean. Good Covid compliance. The inside of Cork is really nice, with a good ambience. All the food is home made and fresh. Worth a visit.

My son and friends went for a drink here Friday 8 Aug. As there were a few of them, understandably they were asked to split up and he sat on a separate table with 2 friends. Their order was taken after a few minutes. When about 15 mins later they politely later asked where their drinks were, they were told there was a 20 min delay. A few minutes later someone came to take their money. They explained that they still hadn't received their drinks but, again as they are polite, they paid anyway. They stopped another waitress a little later to say they still did not have their drinks. She said she would look into it. Eventually, and as their friends on the other table were now on their second drink, they pointed out to a waitress that they had been waiting for over an hour. The waitress replied - they felt quite rudely - "its not been an hour babe". They were able to show the receipt for their money was timed at over half an hour ago, and remember, by the time they had paid, they had been waiting over half an hour. They carried on waiting. Eventually they asked again and a manager said they could have their drinks or their money back. He did not give them the impression he was apologetic for the situation. By this stage they had been in the Cork for around an hour and a half and their friends on the next table had finished 2 drinks. At no point did anyone they spoke to actually put themselves out to make their drinks straight away. My son and his friends, despite being cross, just left without registering a complaint. An hour and half waiting to be served in a bar spoils an evening. As someone who likes to eat and drink out in Ormskirk I am really shocked to hear this account of this poor service in the Cork, and I will certainly bear this in mind when I next choose where to go out in Ormskirk. I will also be telling all my friends about how my son and his friends were treated.

took over an hour for drinks. the waitress and manager didn’t care and were so rude. if you want a terrible night with no drinks and snotty staff this is the place

Have to say I love this place. The breakfast is to die for and the coffee is great. If you fancy a nibble later on in the day you have to try the Pizza so yummy. love coming here and the owner is fantastic. Cannot fault the place.

I held my Baby Shower here in November and can only say what a perfect venue it was. The staff were lovely and couldn’t do enough to help. The food and drink were really nice. Couldn’t recommend the place enough.

Don't normally leave reviews but come here regularly in the summer. Today came inside, really nice. Cheese platter better than you would get anywhere

The Cork is a perfect place for lunch and a catch up. A few minutes from Ormskirk Station. We had the tapas. Every dish was piping hot and delicious. Thank you to the lovely staff for looking after us. Can't wait for our next visit.

I visited cork wine bar last weekend and had an awful experience and would tell anyone who is thinking on going here not to bother. A waitress dropped an oil candle on the floor which led to my coat, my face and friends clothing being set on fire. Although this was an accident, it was extremely dangerous to have these out while the bar was so busy and is an accident that never should of happened. The way the owner and the staff dealt with the situation was appalling, they tried to blame it on us while the girl who dropped it watched us get the blame and refused to apologise. They where extremely rude to my girl friend by putting there hands in her face. They refused to apologise or try and make the situation better. The staff here obviously do not understand what it means to provide good customer service. The owner finally agreed to replace my coat after seeing the CCTV and realising that this situation was there fault. Even this the owner made extremely awkward to do.

Superb restaurant and bar with a friendly atmosphere, great beers, wine and cocktails and excellent food and tapas available. Spotlessly clean, well laid out, great location with seating outside as well. Small TV showing football but it certainly doesn't interfere with The Cork's ambience.

We had been highly recommended to go her, from a friend who works in Ormskirk.Called in with a friend and her mum.We had tapas for lunch, including belly pork in port sauce, baby calamari with a salsa sauce and Piri piri prawns!! Absolutely gorgeous, couple of glasses of wine, to finish the lunch off!Can’t wait to go back again, loved it!! If you gave not been yet, you will have to go.EXCELLENT!

Visited here for the first time on Friday with a couple of friends and it definitely will not be my last visit. The staff were lovely, efficient and friendly and the tapas we had was fabulous. Brilliant 2 for 1 cocktails, and then the free bottle of prosecco was an added bonus.

Third visit to this wine bar. Staff very friendly and helpful. Food is very reasonably priced and tasty. This time I had their tapas which is on offer at lunch. Their belly pork tapas is so delicious and moist. Came away really full. Will definitely be back again soon.

Celebrated our anniversary with a first time trip to The Cork. Margarita cocktails were 2 for 1 and were great. We had the best tapas we'd had for a long time. The meatballs were to die for - so tender and tasty that we had order seconds. The chicken croquettes were also a big hit. Lovely place - can't wait to go back!

This was my first and last time i will go to the Cork. We were recommended the cork as a nice place to go but when i visited with my work colleagues the attitude of the gentleman (i think he was the owner) who served us was disgusting. I personally felt very uncomfortable he acted like he didnt want us there. We booked for 4:30 but by nearly 5 he finally took our food order. We asked politely could we still have the deal that ended at 5pm he said yes but then spent the rest of the time treating us with utter disdain. We asked he could of said no. Our end of year meal is precious to us as it is the only time we all get together and he ruined it. I will not be recommending the cork and I will certainly not visiting again.

Spent a lovely late afternoon here on Saturday with 5 others. We had lots of tapas which were 3 for £10 which is a good deal. Also, cocktails were BOGOF which was great. The cocktails were lovely and led to a great afternoon in this lovely bar. Will be returning very soon. Thank you Cork and staff

We held my Sisters Baby Shower here on Sunday and it was fantastic!! Ricardo and the team made us feel so welcome, they we’re really accommodating and couldn’t do enough for us. The food and Prosecco was lovely!! Everyone had a great day, I would definitely recommend. Thank you again!!!

This is a really great place for breakfast. Prices are very good and the wood wS incredibly well cooked and of good quality.

I went in here with a group of friends for a drink. It is nicely decorated. There was a small seating outside the front, and they had some nice toilets. Nice range of drinks.

This is a great place for wine and tapas or even just a plain and simple toastie with chips!! The decor in this place is great, the wine is 1st class and the Super Bock beer on draught is fantastic!! Service is great and very attentive staff who can't do enough for you.

My friend and I went to cork on a Tuesday evening for our monthly catch up. The menu was tapas - something I am cautious about because the portions can be tiny. But not here, they have decent sized portions. The Portuguese almond and butternut squash tart was to die for too!! It was very quiet in the bar as it was mid week but the food was spot on. The manager was very kind too. A very pleasant place to go too.

Fantastic lunch, food was amazing, freshly cooked. Everything tasted wonderful. Staff were friendly and fabulous. We will definitely be back soon

As my birthday is close to Christmas, I usually wait until January to avoid crowded pubs and poor restaurant service. This year was different, as my family took me out to The Cork because they knew I have enjoyed previous occasions there. Im so glad they did! We enjoyed delicious food and good service, followed by dancing to a great singer's tunes (I'm sorry i can't remember his name) which was good fun. This was a perfect way to celebrate my birthday. so a big thank you to The Cork, we will be back soon!

Nice place known for its tapas. However it is overlooked for its great breakfasts which are a generally cheaper than the common haunts of the shoppers. Worth a short walk down Railway Road for a hearty breakfast in a quieter setting.

First time at this wine bar/restaurant and was very impressed, sometimes venues with a really nice decor leans itself to being a bit fussy and off putting but not here. The service was impeccable as the staff were really lovely, The food choice was great as was the actual food we ordered, the manager appeared genuinely concerned that we did not eat everything on our plate but that was nothing to do with how nice the food was, that was down to us over ordering other extras before we realised how generous our portions would be, value for money was exceptional. The location of this is slightly away from the main restaurants within this area but it has an accessible car park adjacent to the rear and is well worth a visit, I will be going again soon with more family and friends

We have visited The Cork twice to eat and both times it hasn’t disappointed. The manager and his wife are very welcoming and nothing is too much trouble. The tapas is delicious and tastes homemade unlike some other local tapas restaurants. We took our friends last night and the atmosphere was fantastic. I highly recommend The Cork!

Been on a number of occasions to the Cork, especially on Friday Evenings when there is Entertainment. The service is Excellent, the establishment is very well presented and the Manager Ricardo is an excellent Host. I would highly recommend this to my friends

Lovely place nice atmosphere, I bought a glass of gin with tonic but was horrified to see the bar man putting fruit in my drink with his hands, they should at least have spoons to do this. I was with friends they also saw this happen.

Open from 9am to late night each day. Great offers. Breakfast, coffee, lunch or dinner cannot fault Ricardo and his staff. Worth walking from the station or town 2minutes from either. Sunny terrace for outdoor dining. 2 for 1 cocktail nights. Tapas or full meals. Great rage of Portuguese wines and beer.

We came across this bar by accident. We were looking for breakfast and spotted their sign. Breakfast with a hot drink for £5.95! Really good value and excellent quality.

We have been on a number of occasions and never fail to be impressed with the quality of the food or friendliness of the staff, but overall we simply love the decor. Very stylish and modern but very ...pleasant.

My wife and I were out for a few drinks and food during a rare day off together. We decided to visit The Cork just to get out of the rain, what a great decision. The place was superb, lovely interior and excellent staff. The staff were very knowledgeable about the cocktails and also a special offer was on which made the choice much easier. We had cocktails, prosecco and shots, all accompanied by a lovely well tasty pizza. The music was brilliant, Motown. We will definitely be returning to this place, a must if you are in Ormskirk.

We came here on the off chance after being out all day (rare occasion) lovely decor, really clean, what can I say, the staff are superb especially Johnathan who was really helpful in advising us to choose our cocktails, very polite, attentive and happy, the food is fab, the atmosphere is excellent and the music is top notch, we love this place, we will definitely be coming again, great place, great staff, great atmosphere, great find, what more can you ask for!!

Visited corks for first time with friends food, ambience were great and staff very friendly. Based on our experience I don't understand the poor reviews, we will definitely be going back again and believe it is a great new option for us in Ormskirk

Unplanned visit on a Thursday evening, been before a drink and was looking forward to the tapas. Ordered a few dishes off the main menu and the specials, all were very well presented and the full cost with drinks, and one desert "which was unique Portuguese dish" was £44. Great value for money. Thanks guy's.

Classic tapas sized dishes, however far too expensive for what they are. Food average at best. It's been done up really nice, looks like the focus is on drinking and food is an extra. Would go for a drink, not for food.

We had booked a reservation over the phone. When we arrived they couldn't find it .The staff where not very friendly and the service was not very good.

Food was good service excellent atmosphere great but portions​ small for the price yes I will visit again but only for a drink
