Some how they managed to take this review down but I'm reposting it so everyone knows how they treat prospective customers... I bought two tickets to one of the Summer Sessions concerts but I got COVID the day before. I requested a refund on the event ticket app but got no response so I contacted the venue directly. I was told the lady who dealt with refunds was off, but because I bought the tickets over 30 days ago, I probably would not be eligible. This was all before the event and tickets were still on sale! I then tried contacting the venue through the event ticket app after the event and I never got a response! Not even so much as a discount voucher. £60 down the drain. I will never go to a concert here again!

Had the Asian beef salad as starter, which was excellent and burger for main course. Not a crumb was left. Rest of our group loved their cheesecake desserts. O'connors stout was also very good. Very pleased with our meal

The food here is usually on point but sometimes can disappoint (the same goes for the cocktails). Consistency needs to be improved. The staff are always friendly and the atmosphere is lovely; the place has so much charm! Also, the bar has a stout exclusive to The Copper Tap, which is the best I've ever tasted.

We visited here for the first time Sunday 22nd October because we were in the area at the Gortin park. We had a booking for 4:30 and arrived around 4:25. The restaurant wasn’t too busy only a few tables occupied. The wait we endured was not acceptable. It was 5 to 5 before anyone took drink order which was a jug of blackcurrant juice, we asked for this to be made up strong - it was extremely weak we had to ask for it to be topped up. Again the wait to order and get food was very long and the restaurant was freezing cold. The food was exceptional. The soup was beautiful and the turkey and ham dinner was also very nice although more veg would be great a very small bowl between 2 people. We would have loved to have had dessert but the wait was just too long. There was adequate staff to the number of diners they were just extremely slow and no one seemed to have a role. There was no senior staff it seemed either, no one in charge. We left at 6pm with no dessert as we had a long drive home. We probably would return if the service was improved.

Phoned 4 times before answering. Told to come on. Reception was very poor/cold, very stand off-ish.` Drinks ordered, never arrived. Sunday roast arrived with no veg? When asked about, waitress said - sorry - do you want veg? Meat, gravy, mash - cold-ish. Roast pots - very hot, veg turns up half way through dinner - cold-ish, very limp. Drinks turn up towards end. Best bit was when the waitress cleaned the adjoining table and showered us (and our dinner) with whatever chemical they were cleaning the table with. We never ate after that. Weirdly, we paid without complaining but there didn't seem to be anyone available who gave a care and to be honest, we just wanted out with the least hassle. Had one negative experience before and don't know why it closed but had decided to give it the benefit of the doubt. Not for me, unfortunately.

Booked 2 weeks in advance (on line) for my mums 75th birthday. A few days before, I was sent an email to confirm the booking. I confirmed and thought that was it. We turned up at the venue and the restaurant wasn't open. We went to the bar and said we had a reservation. I was told that they tried phoning me all day to cancel the reservation. This was utter manure. I received no calls from them that day. My phone was always in reception. No excuses. Ruined my Mums birthday dinner as we couldn't get in anywhere else. Don't be fooled by these cowboys. Even the barman didn't wait to speak to us, as conveniently he hid out the back. They have been advertising for new chefs all week prior on fakebook. As fake as their menu and their mystery food.

My wife and I had the the pleasure of going to the Copper Tap on Saturday 27th May 2023, On entering the Restaurant we were treated with respect and courtesy. After been served our drinks we were given time to look at the menus and decided to choose the Fine Dinning Menu. This proved to be a great choice and what an experience it was for us both. From the start which was a small wheaten loaf and it was completely out of this world, the remaining five courses just got better. The standard of the food was complemented by the service of the staff through out the evening. It would be very remiss of us both not to mention Zoe, Claire and the barman(apologies did not get his name) for making this night for us a fabulous experience. We would recommend everyone to give the Copper Tap a try. Roley & Jo.

Unfortunately this place is not for us anymore. Lukewarm soup and the lack of fresh veg on a Sunday lunch menu was disappointing, which was added to by the lack of anything by way of garnish with the steak(£6 supplement) and the cheesecake, by no stretch of the imagination was cheesecake as I was able to pour it from the glass. When paying the bill we were told they couldn't remote the price of the cakecake from the menu as told to us at the table when I informed the waited, but as it was a 3 course special and it would then have cost us more for her to charge for two courses, however she did report to the chef that his cheesecake didn't set and apologised.

Having heard so much about this place I decided to check it out with a friend on a Saturday evening at 5.30pm. We had high expectations especially with the strong social media presence and 'luxury' branding. Unfortunately, we were let down on multiple occasions: 1. We visited the bar and not the restaurant - there are two seperate menus. The bar menu has three starters - one of which was unavailable (chicken wings) - hugely disappointing at 5.30pm on a Saturday. 2. Of the 8 or so beers on draught, three were out of stock. 3. The football showing on the TV screens was buffering for a large part of the game, making it largely unwatchable. Streaming football in a bar in 2023 - really? 4. There was no toilet seat in the men's cubicle, meaning if you wanted to sit down, you would have to sit on the toilet bowl. 5. The side order of 'Homemade Fries' at a cost of £5 was no more than standard chunky oven chips you could buy at a supermarket. For five pounds! 6. The Panna Cotta dessert was not set, and basically was just liquid cream served in a small ramekin with honeycomb and chocolate pieces on top. Disgusting. 7. The Americano was served with white sugar and not brown sugar, as is customary. 8. The bill was wrong when we received it and included three extra drinks that we did not order. It was remedied when queried. I simply could not believe that almost every aspect of our visit to The Copper Tap had some notable fault. Very surprising for somewhere that is clearly trying hard to be at the top of the local hospitality scene. I cannot take this restaurant seriously and believe there is major work yet to be done before it can be considered a good option. I'm aware of the wholesale changes of staff and direction once every few months but if they just focused on making good food then it would be a start.

My wife and I visited The Copper Tap late one Sunday afternoon in search of something to eat. Upon entering the premises we went upstairs to the restaurant only to find it closed and being cleaned....at 5.30p.m? We were informed the bar was serving food, so we went back down the stairs to the bar area. Upon entering we found a dull, soulless place and twelve patrons. The young waitress provided us with menus, which we duly perused...with difficulty. Tiny text housed in slightly textured A4 pockets. Perhaps it is a ploy to stop you being able to read the prices. Starters and desserts averaged at about £6.95. My wife and I ordered the curry for our main course, which at £17.95 was actually the cheapest main on the menu. Everything else was £22.95 plus. Pub dining in a rural town? A couple of days previous we had dined in a busy restaurant in Dublin, where the main courses were all around €18. As we dined two ladies and two young teenagers came into the bar. They studied the menu, but having seen the prices they then fled without ordering anything. We enjoyed our three courses, before being presented with the bill...the grand sum of £72. Was our meal nice? Yes. Was it exceptional? Definitely not. Will we be back? Not any time soon. An overpriced pub meal in a bar lacking ambience and patrons.

Such a disappointment as the meal was booked by me to celebrate the amazing friends I am fortunate to have…..same time last week I was in ICU. First disappointment was the menu as it was lunch as opposed to a la carte. I had booked online and had not checked. Food was ok with some glitches but the service was dreadful and the staff less than attentive. Temperature outside was -2C and when a number of us said we were cold there was no offer of a heater. At 4 pm restaurant was virtually empty and an outside door was open because it was more important to remove bottles from behind the bar than offer customers some comfort. Booking of 8 for 3 45pm. Only 2 starters ordered, one of which was fine but chef does not appear to know how to prepare a Caesar salad, as ours was presented with iceberg lettuce and hard boiled egg but very little chicken, no croutons, no anchovy dressing or shaved Parmesan. Mains were served around 5 pm and were satisfactory but we had to ask to have table cleared as by now the cold was unbearable. Half was done straightaway, second half 20 minutes later. Dessert /coffee was ordered and the coffee was served 15 minutes before dessert which had to be asked for again. Cheeseboard to be shared arrived with spoons, requested cutlery and 1 knife was offered. We ate as fast as physically possible just to get home to defrost. What could and should have been a pleasant experience turned into a test of endurance. The staff lacked focus and guidance and were concentrating on events yet to happen later in the day. Obviously our custom was not sufficiently valuable to nurture for future occasions. Rest assured that we will not trouble you again.

Exceptional. First time at The Cooper Tap (party of 4) and from entry to exit, everything about the venue is excellent. Three courses, with drinks; and the food is faultless, as is the service. Highly recommend the chicken wings (starter), sure and turf with sides of veg and champ (main), and the cheesecake - although, hindsight, I should have opted for the apple and blackberry crumble (dessert). 5 stars isn’t enough, can’t wait to return.

I went here on a Saturday night for a 6.30pm sitting for food. I was with a couple of friends. We were served by a waitress called Samira. My most outstanding memory of the place was how unfriendly and brusque the staff were. Every interaction was short and sharp. It was really strange how abrupt the staff were, I felt like an inconvenience. The food was good, I ordered the burger which was ok. It was all overpriced as well for what and where it was. But it was almost a relief to leave to avoid the staff. I will not be returning any time soon.

Visited the copper tap for Sunday lunch. Staff are friendly however food was disappointing. Soup had split and tasted solely of carrot, Short rib tough, the turkey and ham was dry and vegetables provided with our mains not up to par. £14.95 for a Sunday special without a roast potato or Yorkshire pudding is disappointing. We had requested a change in the ice cream flavour which came along the cheesecake, didn’t receive it. Also, there were a lot of flies around whilst we were eating and we could see a filled ashtray filled with water sitting on the table outside the window were our table was situated. We have visited the copper tap previously and thought the food was great, on this occasion too much style over substance.

We went to Copper Tap on Wednesday 7th July,2022 for my Husbands Birthday, we should have realized that there was something wrong, as there were only 2 people eating, and it was 7.45pm. We ordered our Main Course, my Husband had Lamb which consisted of 2 very small piecies of Lamb, 2 fried new potatoes, 2 small slices of cauliflower fried and some puree. I ordered a Burger with cheese and it came with chips. I tasted my Burger and thought there was a strange taste, so I openpened it and removed the cheese to find a black burnt burger (NOT char grilled as I was told by the Chef.) It was not possible to finish so I told the Waiter and he informed me that the Chef said it was cooked correctly. The chips were 3 times fried, which made them very hard also impossible to eat. The final bill for these two meals was £49..95. We were charged £4.95p for a small bottle of Riverrock water. Also 50p was added for the cheese on the Burger. It was a great dissapointment to us both, and a very bad first experience. I am just so glad we tried it before we took relatives from England & America there. WE WILL NOT BE BACK. One other thing we had 4 flys constantly bothering us as we were trying to eat. Once again a Great Dissapointment.on my Husbands Birthday. I would like to add we have eaten in many Countries of the World, so we have a good idea og Good food.
