Great place to discover with the family for a complete breakfast. The plates were generous and excellent. The staff is welcoming and smiling. We will come back if we have the opportunity to go there again 😁

My second time here and it was great the best food you can find in ilford and the pancakes were excellent and everything was fresh (apparently) also the waffles were really nice. I'm not lying

Dining here is always a pleasure. Foods always spot on, staff are so friendly and the one time their coffee machine wasn’t working they gave us a complimentary token for a free drink on our next visit.

Nice quirky cafe and lovely atmosphere. Ordered pull beef with poached egg, although my egg was sadly hard boiled, the beef was 10/10. The karak tea was a disappointment and lacked any flavour, but asked the waiter to change this to Karak coffee which was better. Overall it was a nice place and prices were decent too.

I recommend 100%. I had a great time with my family. Everything was perfect 👌

Worst ever experience, cold food served, on enquiring staff informed that it was re-heated food, and he defended that everywhere they serve re-heated food. That was absolutely lame. Not feeling well since i had few bites. Please don’t ruin your time and money here.

The food and service at The Connaught were great. Let down by the decor and atmosphere. We went on a Sunday afternoon and we're seated pretty much straight away, probably because there were only 2 of us. There were larger parties waiting. We ordered a Royal Florentine and Berry Cake (pancakes with berry compote). Both dishes were very nice and very filling. The only downside was that the venue was quite small and as a consequence, loud. The noise may have been more as it was a weekend and lots of families were there.

Amazing service, food and decor. Definitely recommend the butterfly chicken and passion fruit mojito. They even allowed me to swap the mash for fries.

Average food - chicken was quite dry and bland, chips however had nice toppings. The restaurant is quite isolated in its location. Interior decor is quite nice.

Good halal place for breakfast in Ilford. I recommend the English, the American and the Steak and Eggs. However, this place it let down by the atmosphere, I find it’s quite like sitting in a stranger’s dining room. It’s quite low lit which I feel like is done as an attempt to make the place cosy but the decor doesn’t allow this. A little revamp may be nice, something to brighten the space since it’s already so small. It’s a shame they don’t offer substitutions - I always find it strange when a breakfast place doesn’t offer this as it doesn’t take into account people with an egg allergy. I don’t understand why I should have to pay the same price for a breakfast if I have one less ingredient - it makes more sense to swap this for something else. if it’s a concern about cost you could at least have selected swap items so instead of being able to swap with anything, you could offer a choice of items that are more economical for you to spare. for future reference I think this should be an option available for people, especially those with allergies and diet/religious requirements that stop them from eating egg.

Had a lovely impromptu brunch with my family at The Connaught. It was a lovely time and fast service. Highly recommend.

Food was fresh and presented well(picture perfect). We spent just over £30 for the 2 of us, which included 2 breakfast, 2 hot drink and 1 cold. Service was good. Would happyily go back and try other stuff on their menu.

Very cosy and great food & service from staff

It was my first time going today - would I go back? probably not. It was quite busy and we were seated fairly quickly. When it was time to order we were told we cant swap out items which is weird because every single breakfast spot does that but fair enough. Instead we added on extras. I ordered a chai latte which straight up tasted like warm milk with a hint of cinnamon, DO NOT ORDER! When I told my server she proceeded to tell me they use instant packets for their drink?! I was shocked they don't even have fresh coffee? I ordered an orange juice instead. One orange juice came in a plastic cup and one came nicely presented in a glass cup? A bit odd. The food came out no problems at all beautiful presentation and good taste. They did not even remove the chai latte from the bill which is disappointing. Service could be better. They should definitely invest in hiring a professional barista.

One of my favourite places to go for breakfast. Always freshly prepared with quality ingredients. Be wary it can get really busy with a queue at the door, but it's definitely worth the wait! I go for the classic English breakfast which I cannot fault.

What a delightful brunch it was…

I went here in November 2024, and it was okay. I ordered the Mediterranean breakfast plate and the loaded waffle desert plate. The service was good, though it was quite busy the whole time we were eating and did have to wait around 20 minutes to get a table. The atmosphere is intimate and the decor is intentional. Seating is limited but they do have 3 booths in the restaurant that can hold larger groups. (no more than 5/6) The food was okay, I was underwhelmed by the plate. It looked stunning and pictures well but was mediocre in taste and organisation. For example the cooked vine tomatoes were rested upon and leaked onto the fresh fruit on the plate (they were placed next to each other) the bread was also really hard to chew and too little of it relative to the other items on the plate. The loaded waffle was really underwhelming, and I do not reccomend it. The waffle does not come whole but rather it was cut it up and scattered on the plate with berries and doused with milk and white chocolate sauces. It felt like a rip off dessert. The chai was also lazily made... Overall It’s worth a try but I would not go again.

Cosy environment, gourmet breakfast at a great price, service always helpful and prompt

Really nice brunch place and reasonably priced. We ordered eggs Benedict and the class breakfast which was lovely. Masala chai was alright but not the best. Didn’t have space for dessert unfortunately but would definitely go back! We went on a weekday and there was a 10 min wait to be seated, a much better waiting time in comparison to weekends where there are queues!

I went with all the good desire to eat a grilled chicken, not only did they give me an old chicken with a milky white color, old, what is called old and nothing to do with boiled grilled chicken and overcooked in a saucepan and a terrible treatment, the lady yelled at me as if I were her daughter and the gentleman as if I were a wild animal and disrespecting me. I have eaten in indie restaurants before and this has never happened to me, the lack of respect for a person in this way is degrading.

Nice little place food is good 😊

As we walked in today. Nobody there to greet us. We were just looking at the service staff and nobody communicating with us. It was a little bit awkward, then I had to go into the bar and ask the bar man if we could sit down he said yes. As we just sat there, nobody there to give us a menu or anything. The kind people sitting on the next table called the waitress and asked her to give us some menus. As we will ordering the waitress kept on saying shall I come back later even though she can see where struggling to order something for the child instead of recommending something or suggesting something she would rather come back later. The gentleman that was serving was much better and I avoided talking to the other stuff and directly spoke to the guy who was saving who was much pleasant and was efficient serving. When I went to pay the bill he asked me if the food was okay I explained to me it was fine no problem just difficulty ordering for the child has been dealing over to order. He then told us that they could have made something different for the child. I said nobody told us. Which goes to show depends on who's serving you what experience you get. The owners need to concentrate on the service ensure that each guest receives a consistent level of service.

Food: 4/5 The prawn dynamite was a little strong on its own but wrapped in lettuce toned the flavour down. I ordered the grilled chops, which arrived warm (not sizzling) and were served with mashed potatoes, coleslaw, and green beans. The Brisket Stacker was a bit too meaty for my taste, but the grilled chicken-hen burger was full of flavor. The kids enjoyed their fish finger and cheeseburger meals, and it was a nice touch that kids eat free with a main house dish. Service: 5/5 Nadia managed the front of house single-handedly and did a fantastic job. The restaurant got busy, and one of the orders was mixed up and delayed, but Nadia was incredibly polite, apologizing for the delay and serving with a warm smile. Atmosphere: 4/5 Could use a bit of renovation. The counter sticker was peeling, and the central tables felt mismatched. The restroom also needs better upkeep. That said, the place still felt cozy and welcoming.

Gorgeous. The setting is incredible. The dishes are delicious. And the toasted brioches are just incredible. I recommend without hesitation ^^

Food was not tasty at all. Took ages for anyone to even come and serve or say hello. We were given our dessert ( a warm dessert) before any of our food and when mentioned to the staff he said you should’ve asked to get your dessert after . Isn’t it common sense to serve dessert after the meal. No customer service what so ever . No effort not even asked if we needed anything. Just some taste less food in a messy cafe .

Really delicious brunch and coffee. Cosy atmosphere and fun mocktails. Gets very busy though so customers should be prepared to potentially have to wait for a table.

Suddenly i feel cravings for fries with peri peri salt.but unfortunately there is unavailable peri peri salt.i ask them for only fries which should be very crisp. The distance of my house and the restaurant only 15 feet.after take my percel i back to my home and see the fries is soft not crispy 😒 on the other hand they give something on the fries which is visible in picture. Its so smelly 🤮.

I went with my family (6 people) at around 9:15 on a Sunday morning. I was shown to a table, a table for 4 people. When I asked for a table for 6, they didn't have any. They refused to put 2 tables together to accommodate us. I explained that there was noway we would fit on a table for 4. This is absolutely terrible customer service. We are loyal customers who believe the customer may not be always right but is still the customer and should be treated as such. Suffice to say we walked out, went to swirldrop treats down the road, they were happy to accommodate us and spent over £100. I will not be returning with my business.

The food is decent but the service is so poor. Came here and asked if I could sit on a different table and they said no but when someone else asked, they let them. Manager seemed a bit lost and out of breath. Some basic training will hopefully help.

My wife and I love coming here. Were regulars here and we are always taken care off when we come with the kids. The food is delicious. Everything on the menu is great. The brunch is always on point. 10/10. Mahek and Anisba always go above and beyond everytime we visit. Always so welcoming, kind and friendly. Makes the experience so much more enjoyable. Always have a smile on their faces and so attentive They are a great asset to this establishment. Well done to the team.

Manager was extremely rude and unprofessional during my visit. When I raised a simple concern, he responded with hostility instead of addressing the issue. Completely unacceptable behavior for a restaurant manager.i think this manager is mentally sick.

A lovely, small and cosy little restaurant just off the high street. The place might be small but the food makes up for it! There's a range of food on offer but I've only tried the breakfast here which is outstanding. If like me you cant decide whether to have English breakfast or pancakes you can get a combo. Food is well presented and is reasonably priced; staff are accommodating and overall a good, relaxed atmosphere

Me and my partner went for breakfast last weekend and oh my god what a hidden gem it was! The staff were lovely and friendly, the food was amazing can’t fault any of it, I’ve never liked pancakes but this place may just have changed my mind.. we will most definitely be coming back ( 5 🌟 all the way)

Had a brunch in the resturant. The medetranian breakfast was average in amount ,sujk was lovely and tasty but not much bread to eat the cheese with and I was allergic to beans which was taken off and It was mentioned to me that I can not replace it wih anything else !!! Therefore, Had to order 2 eggs with bread ! Dessert was nice . Too much noise in the resturant , I would prefer a much more quite place with more food to be served compared to the price !

First and last time coming here. I have had many breakfasts and this place is overrated. The sausages is not of good quality and very fatty, probably 30% - 40% chicken content. The Hash browns were salty and the fried eggs were probably done in the microwave..The breakfast plate was so small the food over crowded it and I had to take items off and put onto another plate, couldn't eat properly with the plate size they had served . Moral cafe, just up the road in Ilford do a proper breakfast. You get a better service and quality of food and much roomier. I left Connaught very dissatisfied and extra hungary.

Half a hen came with nice unique spicy rice tomatoes cabbage coleslaw plus green beans. Smokey Boo burger was very filling and juicy We had prawn dynamite but too saucy & beef pulled loaded fries, which were flavoursome.

Cramped, parking was a nightmare. Food was really good.

From the moment you walk in, you are greeted with a friendly smile and promptly seated. All servers, are knowledgeable about the menu and provide excellent recommendations. The food always arrives in a timely manner, and the staff check in regularly to ensure you have everything you need. **Food** I regularly get the breakfast/ brunch options and they never let me down, the food is always the right temperature and the quality of food is always exceptional. Ive recently been trying the main dishes and my absolute favourite is the chicken steak and the lamb chops. To die for! Bursting with flavour! **Beverages:** My favourite mocktail on the list is definitely the passion fruit or the strawberry! However I have recently tried the lyche ginger cooler and it’s also up there, not strong in ginger just the right amount. They also do an amazing iced pistachio latte ! **Value for Money:** Given the quality of the food and the overall experience, The Connaught offers excellent value for money. Food arrived on time. Chicken was rubbery and inedible. Phoned the restaurant and was to of to come in, I brought all the food back and they refused to refund me saying that I had to through Uber. I handed back the food anyway and walked out. I am over £30 out. If you cannot provide the quality of food you do when your sit down and eat, then please turn off delivery. It was disgusting. I will not be going back.

Cane here with the mrs for a date night and cant fault the place, the food was amazing, chips are very rustik and pair well with anything on the menu, the brisket stagger burger was phenomenal and not ure usual burger, the wife fancied a breakfast and was thoroughly happy with her food, the best thing about this place is the quality and also how fairly priced everything is in particular the mocktails which are amazing!

Went here for a family brunch and had a nice time. All the food was freshly made, tasted good and we didn't need to wait too long to get out dishes. We felt slightly rushed to leave once we had finished, but I understand as the place is popular. But otherwise the service was good & attentive. It's a very unpretentious place and has a fairly relaxed vibe. It's a cosy venue so you may need to wait for seats, but turnaround is fairly quick. Street parking using the Ringo App and other spaces are residents only.

Great food, wholesome and filling and price was reasonable too :)
