Definitely my favourite carvery lunch of all time here. Tremendous value too.

Called here for lunch while on our travels. Last time we had a great meal with friends. This time some of the food was dissapointing. I chose the lavabread with cockles on toast. It should have been called "spot the cockle" as I found about four ! There were far more cold bacon bits on the top. My wifes burger was very good and no complaints there at all. Perhaps it was a different chef since our last visit or perhaps they ran out of cockles ?

Lovely food and excellent staff

I've come to The Colliers Arms on plenty of occasions now and everytime we have had a fantastic meal. We had the T-bone on the specials board, the sirloin and the fish shop platter. The kids meal deal with ice cream included is such a good price too. Everything was cooked to perfection and the steak melted in your mouth. Great service and lovely atmosphere.

Drove down from Newport today for Sunday lunch with family members from the area, absolutely recommend this place. Food was stunning & the service was amazing. Very reasonably priced too. Definitely be back.

Four of us went for Sunday lunch and it was delicious. Plenty of variety with a lovely dessert and excellent value for money.

I've eaten here many times all be it in the restaurant downstairs which has always been good. We had a table booked for for 3pm after a walk in Tonmawr for the Caravey upstairs and was most very disappointed. Nobody came to my table and asked what drinks we wanted. Food was not that warm and run out of swede and beef with just Turkey and Ham left Gravy was shocking. Not very warm and way to thick. People were ramned in this room like cattle You can get a far nicer Sunday lunch else were which is hot,cheaper. and better service My experience was not great and I'll not be back. The bloke serving was also a bundle of laughs... NOT

Had mixed grill..very disappointed .very expensive for what you got it was just like a breakfast but 3 times the price .

A nice local pub/restaurant with a good menu, and good quality food. Hospitable and friendly service. Neat animal garden out the back across the fast flowing river.

We had steak & ale it was delicious.

We had Christmas lunch here today, and it was one of the best meals I’ve had. The food was hot (always good!) and plentiful, and the staff were very attentive, asking if everything was okay, and if we needed more of anything. We have eaten here several times over the past year, and have always been impressed by how delicious the food has been. Highly recommended!

Two friends and I whet to the pensions Xmas lunch on Dec 14 and it was Fabulous real meat as mutch as u like and Bingo love lady singer who kept us entertaind all afternoon this is our there'd year and this was the best Well Done all at the collers arms see u next year but all year 🍷🍷🍷🍽🍗🍗

This is where to go for for proper pub grub. Absolutely stunning food, I always go for the lasagne because its my fave but have come here with family who have had different things off of the menu ( half roast chicken, salmon, pie etc) and have all enjoyed! The chips are delicious i do think theres a slightly smaller portion of them lately but its a big meal within itself and very filling so it's probably judt me being gutsy. The cheesey garlic bread is to die for and the onion rings..yummy. The staff are always so welcoming and accommodating and if your eyes are bigger than your belly like mine are they always provide recyclable food containers to take it home if needs be!

Had steak, which I had asked for it to be well done, and it wasn't it was done medium they forgot the peppercorn sauce had to ask for it another waitress came and got it and the dessert was very poor mostly all cheesecake in fact I don't think I will go back there again and they wasn't busy very disappointing a let down

Friends since our school days going back 57 years had a absolutely delicious three course Xmas lunch today everything was spot on also tea or coffee and mince pie amazing value also great service from friendly staff .Thanks all .x

The food is top quality .staff friendly great value for money. I live in London this is amongst the best places to eat the menu covers for all tastes and dietary preferences.

Not impressed beef over cooked vegetables mm potatoes mashed as if it's out of a packed roast potato stilly over cooked vegetables on the cold side the table are too close to each other I'm small had to move for people too go past the least time had called in it was good so what happened got to greedy we were disappointed I noticed a lot of people did not have desert

Sunday lunch is the best around

Having seen a post about their special of a T Bone steak at £23 on Facebook we booked for a VERY rare sit down meal for our family. We were told no times available before 7.30. We got there at 7.30 and it was so busy. We were told “you’re the other side of the bar” whilst being handed menus. Our table was constantly interrupted by people queuing for the bar. Its seems a very who you know pub as people who were familiar to the staff were being seen to first. After 20 minutes of staff passing us, clueless we were waiting we tracked down a server. She went “oh have you ordered?”. We asked what the turn around time was for food as it was near 8pm. She said she’d ask the kitchen as three big parties were in and it may be a while. We said we couldn’t wait that long. She went “oh sorry” and walked off. We were prepared to spend alot of money on the specials for two and a meal for our teen. The local chippy fed three of us for £15 instead. So lesson for the day…..don’t take our booking if you can’t provide the service.

Absolute gem of a place. Went today on the off chance and was lucky to get a table. Told straight away there was a wait for food. Service was spot on, and one of the best steaks I’ve ever had.

The BEST Sunday Dinner takeaway I have ever had! Delivery was great, service over the phone was great too and reasonable pricing! Excellent portions and quality cooked food. The beef fell apart, it was melt in the mouth delicious. The best beef gravy I have had in a very long time, absolutely outstanding! Biggest roast potatoes I've ever seen and expertly cooked and the veg was all full of flavour! All food arrives cold so you can heat up when you're ready! AMAZING! Next time we are popping in for a visit to eat as we have heard food throughout the week is lush too😍🙌 thank you!!!

Decided to call in for a quick lunch, was not disappointed. Myself and my wife's decided on the homemade steak and ale pie which we both really enjoyed. They have good menu with plenty of choice for all tastes. There was good service and a good atmosphere, will definitely be back.

The best carvery in neath port Talbot

On a recent visit to Port Talbutt with my mum, after struggling to find somewhere to go for dinner, we came across this gem of a pub. It's in a beautiful location, next to the river, well worth the short drive up from the town. The food was homemade fresh and tasty. The staff were fantastic, super friendly and helpful. We both had lasagne one meat one vegetarian, followed by honeycomb cheesecake and sticky toffee pudding. Fantastic food, can highly recommend.

Food was very good, sensible prices. Great pint,again sensible prices. Would go there again.

the colliers is a gem of a pub disability access low prices and efficient friendly staff called there with senior citizens there were 8 of us the special lunch menu two for 14.99 plenty of choice the only complaint there was too much food will be going back there in the very near future

A group of 15 was well organised for a Saturday evening.. The cheerful waiting staff coped very well for such a large party with various choices from the extensive and varied menu. Everyone had a great meal. I didn't notice Lavabread on prawns on the menu so I will have to visit again !

Very good value and excellent homemade food. We ordered extra onion rings which was a big mistake! the helpings are very generous. My wife had an excellent homemade lasagne and chips, I had an equally excellent lamb rogan josh half and half. (Half rice, half chips) We spent just a few pence over £20 per person thanks to the onion rings! No room for dessert. We shall return!

Good food, good service food hot and fresh. Friendly and accomodating staff. Will be returning.

Fantastic food, cannot complain about it at all, genuinely really enjoyed. Not the cheapest, but a good sized portion. Lost a star due to the being so hot in there, very uncomfortable group of people anxious to get out and stand in the rain. Members of the group wafting them selves with beer mats and sweat dripping running down their heads... this was in the evening and raining outside!

Visited here for Sunday lunch because we have heard good things about the place and I wasn't disappointed a big selection of meat or veggie option to choose from I went for lamb which was really nice and alot of vegetables my wife had a nut roast we both enjoyed are lunch the staff was really friendly and helpful and the food was reasonable priced the pub itself could do with updating but will definitely be visiting again

Fab breakfast, asked bow we wanted ie eggs cooked and deliverd as requested. Everything was tasty and hot. Plenty on the plate. Will definitely go for another.

Went for Sunday dinner, plenty of parking space, staff where very efficient. The place is well set out. The food was delicious me and my wife had clean plates. We had the pâté to start, then the beef dinner. The veg was ample and delicious....

Excellent food great service will be back again

We order Sunday lunch-to-go. It's best food you'll get on Sunday without having to wear pants. Portions are enough to split for a cheeky leftover Monday and set you up for the week. Most splendid.

Highly recommended. Excellent food quality. Parking can be a nightmare especially if you are disabled like myself.

Unfortunately this was the first and last time at the colliers. I booked for Sunday lunch as a number of people mentioned upstairs food was better than downstairs. Food was very disappointing, the carvery area was being service under lights thick with cobwebs and dust. The turkey came out wrapped in clingfilm which had clearly been blitz in the micro. The cans of pepsi were warm. We literally got there, ate food and left within 30ml minutes. 1 plus side that saved this from being a 1 star is the staff. Very polite and helpful!

Food was great. Had a carvery upstairs. Realy well cooked. Considering we were there at the end of service, the food was still plentiful and really good standard. No real ale on draught beer unfortunately.

Very slow service but food was good

Ordered a veg burger and chips and it was served on a dirty chopping board! Looked like it hadn't dried properly and was going blue on the edges, with knife marks from previous uses which were probably full of germs! I felt sick!! Didn't complain as I was with people who were celebrating an occasion and I didn't want to make a fuss, so I asked for a plate and left the bottom of the burger that touched the board. Food was nice but the service and cleanliness needs work. I wiped the table over with a detol wipe (covid safety) and it had black on it. Then we were over charged, the veg burger should have been £9.50 and it said £13.95 on the bill and there was also an extra £4 for a cider we didn't order! Told them and they adjusted it, lucky we checked, how many people don't?! Update 2023: Went here again for same occasion as last year (not my choice). Cleanliness was much better although I asked for a plate instead of a wooden board when I ordered. Lots of care was taken when I ordered a vegan burger to check I was happy with the ingredients so that was good, but once again I was over charged - the menu said £12.50 but I was charged £13.95 again and had to ask for a refund which was fine but a year on they still have not adjusted their till! The burger and chips I found to be very bland tho, tried to smother in vinegar but that was also watery and didn't help. Food hygeine rating is still only a 3.

Tasty Sunday lunch especially the gravy. Too noisy for me to talk and hear conversation around the table . A very popular place X £72- 2 courses X4 with two wines and 2 cokes .
