This is our local nearest chip shop the food is fresh and curry sauce is a must. Parking can be an issue sometimes but went to visit here this lunch time and a large chips is now £4.00 😔 Unfortunately I’ll be going Grangeway TA bros from now on much cheaper and quality is just as good.

Best fish and chips in Rushden, no competition, always hot and fresh! Fairly priced too compared to other establishments in town.

The Cod House is probably the best Fish & Chip shop in Rushden. The staff are always very pleasant and give ample portions. The chips are excellently cooked and the fish is very tasty. I have tried most other chip shops in town and this one is definitely Rushden's Premier Fish & Chip Shop.

Apart from a sign hanging on the corner of a house in Irchester road, you would quite easily pass this excellent little fish and chip shop. We have been regular users of The Cod House for several years and in my opinion this is the best in town by a country mile. Decent sized portions and excellent food too,i particularly enjoy their large battered sausages, almost a meal in themselves. An excellent little chip shop slightly hidden away. This is a typical English takeaway for mainly fish and chips but with other items such as sausages, pies, curry sauce and so on - as one would expect to find in such an establishment. The people serving are cheerful and willing and always have a smile. The food is always fresh and crisp and very hot. Although they do not cook too much at once there is rarely a queue and the fish in particular always seems just out of the fryer. If you require special orders such as haddock or plaice they are very willing to cook it on the spot - usually the waiting time is no more than 10 minutes. It is in competition with several other Fish and Chip shops in the town but to my way of thinking it is the best.

Lovely cafe right on the river. Very nice people, extremely reasonable prices, homemade cakes (always the mark of cafe quality in my opinion for the treats to be homemade vs. bought in). Delicious toasties and sausage bacon sub rolls. I really enjoyed the cream tea as well, excellent scones. I anticipate we will go back quite often, and I say this as an avid baker who sells treats and breads quite often herself :)

Good food. Wasn’t keen on the stressy older woman waitress that was obsessed with who sat where. Wore me out watching her.
