Excellent food and impeccable service from Dragos and the whole restaurant team. It’s always a real pleasure to return to the Clockhouse to enjoy a genuinely felt warm welcome from Dragos. For many years now he has led the restaurant team, significantly improving service levels year on year. His professionalism and warm engaging style go hand in hand. Fantastic time with family at Leighinmohr House hotel! Had a table booked for 4 people. Upon arrival we were greeted by Dragos and Eva. They were incredibly polite and helpful. We only had main courses and desserts but I’ve got to say they were delicious! Definitely can’t get it anywhere else in Ballymena! We had the Venison, the duck and a fillet steak. Everything was cooked to perfection. It was my mother in laws birthday and they made sure it was one to remember! In short words, I definitely recommend the place!

I attended the restaurant with visiting family from England for Sunday lunch. I was extremely disappointed with the table we were given. For a hotel that is advertised as a boutique hotel the mismatch of seats and the colours of tables was appalling. When seated we were never given or offered a drinks menu and the service in general was extremely slow, some of or partly had Turkey & Ham with no stuffing some had stuffing and no one was offered cranberry sauce. All in all the food was good but we felt that the restaurant was struggling to keep up with how busy it was.

Took the wife to clock house for valentine’s for dinner ,service was first class. Food was very good we went with main course and dessert as we are not big eaters ,wife had the fish and chunky chips I hah had the sticky chilli chicken both were very good in affect chilli chicken was probably the best I have had so far ,dessert wife had crème brûlée and I had the tiramisu both were top marks ,thank you

We visited for Santa Sunday!! Santa was in the lobby when we arrived and was welcoming the kids received a selection box! Lovely food but service was so slow!! We were there for over 2 hours!! Mains came out with some missing food items we alerted staff and got it straight away! Took our dessert order and came back to tell us they only had 3 sticky toffee puddings left but we ordered 4 but this was fine with us we just shared!! Then tea and coffee pots came out but they didn’t bring us cups by the time we got staffs attention they had to bring us fresh tea and coffee! Also online on their Christmas brochure it states three courses was £34.95(picture attached) But they charged us £37.95 for 3 courses! The kids was £14.95 and not worth that at all! Dessert option for them was vanilla ice cream my son was happy with this but my daughter will only eat chocolate and there was no alternative for her! Be good if they had more flavours available! Also £4,50 For a jug of orange cordial!!!! Crazy!!!!!! We normally love the leigninmohr and never have complaints but I wouldn’t return for a Santa Sunday again far too busy therefore impacting on the service!

Booked a dinner reservation for 31st March to celebrate my birthday tomorrow. From the minute we arrived the service received was impeccable! I was absolutely delighted to receive a complementary glass of sparkling wine & a signed birthday card. This was such a lovely gesture & the two staff that served us both wished me a happy birthday. How nice was that! The staff in particular must be mentioned. Dragos was so professional, welcoming, calm & smiled throughout. The staff overall had great customer interaction & didn’t hover yet you didn’t have to wait long for dishes to be cleared or food/drinks to be served. The food presentation was beautiful especially the starters. I had the spiced crab & crayfish which was light & refreshing. The other party had the wild mushroom tartlet again presented well & they both found the dish to be tasty. I had ordered a Bramble cocktail & it was so good! For mains we had honey glazed chilli chicken strips & grilled cod fillet. For dessert crème brûlée & trio of chocolate mousse. Although it was beat the clock menu I chose to have my main dish the size of a starter (for me personally it was the correct portion size it’s just a personal preference) but the staff were very accommodating with my request. We were never made to feel rushed, it was a very relaxed atmosphere. The general ambiance was really nice. You were able to have a conversation with the rest of the party without having to shout above other customers in order to be heard. When we were leaving we were given a 10% discount voucher to use on our next visit which we immediately booked once we arrived back home. I would highly recommend The Clockhouse Restaurant. The wee extra unexpected touches stood out. It was very reasonably priced. I’m surprised its ratings don’t score higher. I hope the restaurant manager passes on my thanks & appreciation to the restaurant, bar & kitchen team!! As someone who studied & worked in hotel management for a number of years it’s important for staff to hear positive feedback. Too often people are quick to complain but not complement so well done everyone - keep up the great work!!!

Excellent meal with great service. Wine beautifully chilled, water came without having to ask. There was a great choice on the menu but we were both pleased with our choices. Best cheese platter I’ve had.

This is a favourite restaurant of mine and my friend who had never been came with me. We were seated in the library and when we mentioned we would like to sit in restaurant, it wasn't a problem. Food as always was superb. We both had 2 courses, with a lovely bottle of sauvignon blanc. Service was impeccable. A special mention to Dragos. If there is one negative, it would have to be the wine glasses. They were like port glasses. When my friend asked for larger it wasn't a problem but we still feel large glasses would have made a big difference. We then retired to the reception area and spoke to Marcus in bar. I'm always apprehensive about cocktails however our French martinis and porn star martinis had to be some of the best we have ever had. Great service by a very charismatic Marcus. Staff are fabulous. Look forward to visiting soon.

Booked a table for 6.15 pmon a Sunday with my husband. Ordered drinks and then ordered starters and mains by 6.30pm. I ordered the mushroom and truffle tortellini and my husband ordered the special soup - spiced cauliflower. I immediately seen a short black hair in my starter and asked staff to remove it, I did not want a replacement. My husband would report his soup was bland no spice just cauliflower flavour. We then waited one hour 10 minutes for our main to arrive. I ordered the halibut which was dry and had frozen garden peas in the dish, 2 prawns and approx 6 muscles which had not been cleaned appropriately. My husband ordered the fillet steak which was cold and undercooked. We were charged £85.00 for the meal and that was with the starter taken off the bill. Will not return in a hurry.

I have been here twice now and both times were excellent . The menu and standard of food competes with my favourite restaurants around Belfast for sure. The service is 10/10, a special mention to our server Geraldine who on both occasions was superb - professional, welcoming and friendly. The espresso martinis are probably the best I have tasted. The food is gorgeous. I especially enjoyed the steak which seems like a simple dish but difficult to cook to perfection in my opinion. It was perfect. Returning in a few weeks and I can't wait!

Returned once again to the Clockhouse for an evening meal. Place quite busy until about 9pm (the witching hour in B’mena) Ordered some starters, one of which was the scallops. Noticeably the prices have increased significantly especially the starters. The scallops were £13.00, 4 of them! Absolutely shocked at the plate, the size of the 4 scallops accompanied by a little green leaves. Not only were they small, they weren’t actually that hot nor tasteful. The pork main course was lovely, considering the price of the main versus the starter and food involved I wonder how they cost the scallop dish? I should have asked if they were fresh before ordering. When asked if all okay, I told the waitress that our wine wasn’t chilled to which she replied Oh! Then proceeded to put her hand in the ice bucket and shrugged her shoulders then disappeared to come back and take our wine away, couldn’t understand what she said as she walked off. Wine was replaced with a real chilled bottle by another waitress who apologised which was really nice. Don’t believe we will be rushing back, Belfast restaurants charge less for fresh scallop dishes as do many others in County Antrim. Big thanks to our waitress, didn’t get her name but she was so friendly and attentive.

We had dinner here last night and it was fantastic , as usual. The white chocolate creme brulee was absolutely great. The staff are all very friendly and helpful, as always. Looking forward to our next visit.

Set in leighinmohr house hotel the surroundings are really nice and a bright airy restaurant. Staff are really friendly and welcoming we had from beat the clock menu and the chilli chicken was delicious hubby also enjoyed the pork. We fooled this with sticky toffee pudding and lemon meringue sundae both equally delicious. Portion sizes are good and value for money. Will we return.... Absolutely

We were amazed at how good all 3 courses of our meal were! Tasty and beautifully presented and all staff were very pleasant indeed! We would definitely recommend this restaurant, it was our first time here and we will very definitely be back! Well done to all the kitchen and service staff! And quite reasonably priced too considering the high standard of the food and service!

My wife had wanted to try this restaurant for some time after seeing it advertised somewhere. I have to say I wish we had tried it sooner, absolutely lovey. The quality and taste of the food is amazing, I had scallops followed by sweet pepper crusted Hake, both of which is off The Merchant quality, really good. The staff were lovely, friendly, nice, attentive and mannerly. The choice of wine slightly limited however seemed a reasonable quality. Will definitely be back.

Three of us had an excellent meal in an evening. Everything was faultless. Creative menu with many ingredients of local provenance. Service was perfectly executed, with just the right amount of presence.The two course or three course deal is superb value, compared with other local restaurants too. Only downside is that there isn’t much ‘atmophere’. We will be back.

This restaurant has the most delicious food and very attentive staff. could not recommend it enough.

This is written with a heavy heart as we have been here often, but standards have dropped significantly. A family meal was ruined due to a catalogue of failures by the restaurant. Part of our order included 2 main meal chowders. One could only be best described as a soup - it is as though they ladelled it from the top of the pot; it was not fit as a main meal, let alone a £16 main meal. The other chowder was fine. The failures began when we asked for the 'soup' to be returned and to be replaced with the main meal chowder as ordered. The request was made almost as soon as it was served. Everyone else was finished before a small enamel bowl was sent out with some potatoes and peas in it. Not only was the 'soup' cold, I wouldn't have expected to add my own ingredients to a meal at a served restaurant. By this time, everyone else at the table had finished their meal whilst id had nothing, so I would eating cold 'soup' alone. Both the sentiment and delay come across as an insult. The manager appeared too busy to deal with the situation and only came as we were about to leave. At this point it was too late to rectify anything. But her suggestion of asking me if I wanted something to 'take-away' instead was equally strange. In addition to this, promised colouring pencils didnt arrive at the table with the waitress admitting she'd forgotten. I suggest the series of failures were as a result of inexperienced staff, and attentions being directed to the wedding that was going on at the time. This should have been a quick and easy fix; easily rectified at the time. The failings lie with all involved. And just for the record, we paid our bill in full. As we said, we have been here often, but the service and quality levels have dropped significantly. We will definately not be returning.

I really can't rate this place highly enough. The food was brill!! The staff are so friendly and helpful, the surroundings are beautiful ad the food is exquisite!!

First class. We were there as a couple with a two year old, the staff were excellent, made sure toddler got his meal first and had pencils and paper to distract him. Nothing was too much trouble and they were all friendly and helpful. We had goats cheese and pork belly starters and they were excellent - perfect balance of flavors on both, the spiced cherry apples were unusual with the pork. The hake was well cooked and served with delicious sundried tomato and broccoli. Finished with the cheese board and sticky toffee pudding and both were lovely. Would highly recommend this place, well done to the chef and lovely waitress and waiter who served us

We came for afternoon tea yesterday & really enjoyed the experience. The staff were amazing & couldn't have done enough for us & made the experience really special. The food was really good & was very fresh. I can recommend the prosecco highly as well. I will definatly be back especially when the cocktail lounge opens next month. We (two couples) had dinner in the Clockhouse last night and we were well impressed.

Have eaten here many times with my husband or friends and the food and the staff never disappoints. Ate there last night with two friends. Between us we had scallops and chicken strips for starters, scampi, chicken supreme and venison for mains and an amazing choc fondant and banana pudding for our desserts. All delicious. There was a small mix up with the mains but this was sorted swiftly and professionally. Not only is the food brilliant but the staff are too, nothing is too much trouble. Not surprised it has won awards.

From start to finish the service provided was excellent. I had booked the restaurant for a works leaving do for over 20 people. I liaised with Claudia, the restaurant manager for pre-orders which she made extremely easy. The food and service at the lunch was also excellent and everyone was very happy. We will be back. Thanks again.

Just had a lovely family meal for 11 people. The food was exceptional and the service was excellent. Very happy night had by all. Will deffo be back.

We had our dinner here as part of our Anniversary stay in the Hotel and it's a nice place with a good selection of Menus. The menu was a bit confusing with the supplement charge on certain dishes which we didn't pay attention to but it was still well presented food.

Lovely setting and staff very helpful was part of a party of 10 people for evening meal during the week. Main meal was well presented and cooked perfect. The only disappointment was the sweet Lemon Meringue pie nothing like the picture on this page. Very hard pastry base with a very running meringue totally collapsed and spilling over the casing served with what tasted like a mango sorbet did not go very well with lemon.

Apparently one is told that the food is good here, and it is indeed ok, if they have it. We went on a Saturday evening and some of our party ordered a pudding of which they had run out of the main ingredient so it had to be adapted. Further in this vein, I was quite surprised by this example of gluten free adaptation of the menu items: fish and chips is not adapted by using a gluten free flour (e.g. rice) for the batter but just bringing steamed fish. A bit bizarre and unimaginative. The food was otherwise ok but nothing spectacular. The staff were generally attentive. The price was ok. We did generally enjoy ourselves but I would not rush back, though.

Just had family meal in this restaurant. Sunday lunch menu, superb quality, lovely portion size, fantastic value for money. Staff extremely friendly and very attentive. Would definitely recommend and will be back. Natasha and Gabriel looked after us on this occasion, great service, thank you.

This restaurant is never too busy which creates the perfect relaxing atmosphere and ensures each table is well looked after- something you don’t usually see in other restaurants which generally care about getting as many customers possible than providing the best service possible.

Both my husband and I visited the Clockhouse Restaurant tonight, the staff where excellent paying attention to all of our needs. The food was really lovely, well presented and with the Beat the Clock addition we had a beautiful three course meal for a really reasonable price. I have to say that the Clockhouse restaurant certainly was of a very high standard. The managers should be proud of their restaurant staff and chefs, we will be back soon bless you.

I just feel your lunch time menu should be more appetizing. Not special, boring . On the day I visit I would have loved a good old fashioned roast dinner.

We decided to bring my mum here for a birthday treat as we had never been to the hotel before. We arrived for our meal and seated promptly at a very beautiful round table and comfortable seating, there was a beat the clock offer on 2 courses £16.95 or 3 for £19.95 (can be chosen off either menu)which is very good value! The ambience in the restaurant was nice and relaxed and the staff where very attentive and professional. The menu is a little different to typical restaurants which is nice for a change! we had soup/ham fritters/salt & chilli squid & sf chicken strips as starters, pork belly/honey glazed chicken strips/Thai crab & prawn burger & pancetta chicken supreme, all our food was delicious and very well presented, we were just sorry that we didn’t have any room for dessert overall our experience was 5* and look forward to our next visit here.

My sister is getting married at the Leighinmohr House Hotel next year so we went to see the venue and had lunch. There were six of us and on arrival we got asked if we would like free prosecco as the Royal Wedding was on. The staff were attentive, especially Dragos and the food was excellent. I had the beef cheek mac and cheese which had much more meat than I anticipated. All the dishes were gorgeous with very big portions. We shared two cherry and pistachio sundaes.

Lovely place lovely people, go every month and get the same honey chill chicken it’s unbelievably good!

Never misses..cooked fresh with good quality kids options. Two (or three) course options in restaurant or bar if busy are excellent.

We have eaten here a few times now and have loved everything we have tried, the scallops starter is amazing, all the food is cooked and presented to perfection, I personally am not a sweet eater but the tiramisu is delicious and the whole menu is very reasonably priced.

Can't fault the Sunday lunch menu at Leighinmohr. Absolutely delicious and tender sirloin of beef, buttery mash and gravy that's full of flavour. Really tasty dessert and all for a very reasonable price. £17.95 for two courses - hard to beat!

Had an excellent meal with friends. 3of us choose the special which was Seabass on bed of crushed beetroot potatoes served with crispy parsnip and mussel tempura wow delicious. Desserts were excellent too. Pleasantly surprised by the Clockhouse and wound highly recommend staff excellent too and really pleasant. I would recommend the afternoon tea as well. Very reasonably priced restaurant will definitely be back.

We have had the pleasure of dining at the clockhouse on several occasions. Each time the food and service has been excellent. Dragos the restaurant manager and his team of staff are exceptional. The high level of service is second to none. The menu has an array of tempting choices and each one I have had to date has been excellent. They offer many exciting specials at the weekends. Sunday dinner and the afternoon tea here has also been amazing. Very reasonably priced and a real hidden gem! I cannot recommend the clock house bistro enough!

Was a guest at a wedding here a month ago and I must say it was beautiful. The function room has been painted in nice bright grey colours, new carpet and new tiles. Just a lovely spacious venue. And the meal and service was top notch. Highly recommended for a wedding- indeed our daughter is getting married later this year and almost regrets that she has already booked her hotel as the Leighinmohr would have fitted the bill

Have met colleagues and friends here for lunch on several occasions over the past year and the lunch menu is great - interesting choice and good value. Food is always excellent. The dining room is recently decorated and very tasteful and pleasant. Staff attentive and efficient..... so why don't more people come here for lunch? (Only seem to be two or three other parties anytime I've been.) They should! Quiet and classy, lots of free parking right by the door and a stone's throw from the town. It is a cut above the many restaurant offerings in the town.

Visited here with the family on a Saturday, and at 4pm - so we missed the lunch and too early for dinner...

I have tended to avoid eating in hotel restaurants (even when staying in the hotel in question) but the Clock House at Leighinmohr House Hotel has cured me of that prejudice. The meal that my wife and I had there recently in the company of her six year old niece was just superb. My starter, which my wife tasted with approval, was from the Ispíní Charcuterie in Northern Ireland, beautiful delicate flavours and an innovative use of local produce. As I am a fan of pork belly I chose that for my main course even though I had not long before been very disappointed with the same dish served to me in a prestigious restaurant in Brighton. I need not have worried, this was melt-in-the-mouth, cooked to perfection, as well as being double the size portion. The accompaniments were well chosen and made a delicious whole. My wife is a fan of salmon, but instead of the regular pan-fried there was an intriguing special of salmon prepared several different ways, which was unusual and she thoroughly enjoyed. Our young guest ordered burger and chips from the children's menu. I was impressed to see it was a properly made burger and the chips were skin-on - no compromise there - and pleased to note with what respect the staff treated her. I finished off with excellent coffee. The Clock House has now become our first equal favourite place to eat in Ballymena and I look forward to our next visit.

Six of us had a lovely lunch today. We all chose different meals from the menu and as usual the food was beautifully cooked and presented. Choice of chicken, venison, pork and steak.

Visited here for a family meal on a Friday night early November, this was our second time to have a meal here only last time we stayed over but that was a few years ago.

Surprised by the modern smart decor, atmosphere, and more importantly the food. Very good meal for the 4 of us. Starters, mains and desserts were all excellent. Good choice and range of styles and tastes. Will definitely be back.

Fantastic food.....early bird 2course special £14.95 great value for outstanding food. Delicious delicious delicious......u have got to go and try a dessert they are spectacular....I opted for Apple tart Omg pastry was flaky with caramelised apples cooked to perfection baked on top with a pool of homemade custard and cinnamon ice cream I just can't tell you how good this was but I can say it's the best dessert I've ever had -my friend went for the White chocolate mousse with Tia Maria sauce again presentation was faultless....waiter served her dessert which came with a thin chocolate disc on top of the mousse he then proceeded to pour the hot Tia Maria sauce on top melting the chocolate disc to reveal the heavenly mousse dessert below I tell you this is mitchellin star stuff......absolutely has the wow factor and the main courses were so tasty too. Service professional and Manager very friendly u can tell staff are passionate about their jobs and the hotel looks wonderful as it has had a revamp. Looking forward to attending a wedding here in March 2017 but don't think I can wait that long before returning for the sumptuous food......compliments to the truly wonderful chefs here because everything tasted and looked so good....well done.
