Nobel Cafe in Ballymena

Food was nice. Staff friendly and the place itself was lovely. Cash only though. Sign for this wasn’t noticeable enough as I didn’t notice. Staff should mention this when seating customers as I was flustered when checking out.

Used to be the best for breakfast in the town. Now, there are no breakfast deals. Every item costs £1. £1 for an anaemic sausage that is barely bigger than a middle finger. £1 for a fried egg?? Price for food is ridiculous. Then there are the drinks. No free tea or coffee. Spend £9 for a fry and then pay £2.50 for a mug of tea? £2.50?? For a tea bag and a bit of water? And if you order two teas, you just get a bigger pot with a single tea bag. Place is an absolute rip-off for mediocre at best food. There are much better options in the town.

If they took card payments it would be 5 Stars all round. Just for less hassle

Love this place & visit it quite regularly - the food is fantastic. The only down side are the prices. I understand the cost of living has increased over the years however, this cafe seems to have gotten a bit greedy with the pricing of their meals. You're spending at least £10pp when dining here not including beverages which I think is a bit extreme.

Breakfast is horrible, all the bread is deep fat fried, disgusting but ok if it’s a heart attack you’re seeking! I would not eat from here as there’s much better within walking distance!

I have been eating at Nobel Cafe quite a few times. Never short of a great experience. From the very moment of entering the restaurant you are nicely greeted by a member of staff and guided to one of the tables. Shortly after another staff member will come to take your order and trust me they really have a quick service. The food is always delicious and appetising. Everyone is nice and friendly and the atmosphere is great. It is definitely a busy spot as many people know it and come back for the tasty food and good prices as well. The only downside-no card payments. But considering the pluses it doesn't feel like such a big issue.

Love this cafe. My husband and I travel from Belfast area to the Nobel cafe every week for lunch.

Had a fry each. The food was really nice, no complaints for taste but value for money is disgraceful. £1 an item which is fair enough but when u get 1/4 of a soda n my young daughter asked for 2 pancakes and got 1 (2 halves)....false advertising.....should be specific. Also £2.60 for a glass of pure orange juice which came in a glass no bigger than a shot glass, disgusting....(if staff had bothered to check on us after bringing down our food I would have made them aware), when seating us she asked at the door how many then speedily walked ahead and left menus on table then walked on before we could even catch up and see where our table was)

Excellent cafe in Ballymena town centre. Consistent and delicious food. Service is the very best around.

Been going to Nobels for years the odd time for mainly the Fry up which is amazing. I love being able to choose what I want. Not many places do that which is annoying. I can't fault any of the food I eat, the only thing i would like is when you order a pancake item, they give you half a pancake, they taste so good but half a pancake really? A would much prefer a full one especially when it's £1 per item roughly. The place is always packed especially around noon but they usually get you a seat really quickly and service is great. They don't really give you enough time to order to be fair, a little annoying. They are great when I have to take my baby and pram in and make sure we have a seat where the pram fits which I love. I have tried the burger and chips there a couple of times and it is really good. It always fills me up and can barely finish the burger. It's not huge portions you get but I don't mind as I tend to fill up easily. I've also tried the club sandwich and soup, soup wasn't that great to be honest. I think they only had potato and leek. Disappointing. Sandwich I actually preferred. Cash only (there is a cash machine across the road thankfully) also they don't really like it if you pay separatly. They put all of your meals onto one bill. So be aware of that. This place is one of those places I love going to especially for their fry ups. Highly recommended if you like a good fry.

Great trusty little cafe. Arrived right around 9am and wasn’t very busy but there was a queue nearly to the door within a half hour or so! Great for breakfast, we both got the porridge with rhubarb compote and it was very tasty. Cash only but there’s an ATM right across the street. Lovely service, food arrived very quickly

Arrived at Nobel today to try for the first time, we were asked if we were ready to order 5 times within 5 minutes of our arrival, we hadn’t even read all the menu. Seemed they were trying to rush us in and out. The food was ok but portions were very small considering the price point. Someone started clearing our food before we were even finished our lunch. Therefore, after our bad experience, this will be our first and last time at the Nobel cafe.

The food is always top class, service is generally quick. I have seen it cued outside the building and still get served in a quick time frame.

Food is decent except for the bread in a fry. Its deep fried instead of toasted. Soft drinks are too expensive. Its a cafe to eat and go. I prefer somewhere that you feel you can sit on after for a short while. No card facilities

We placed a telephone order yesterday for staff lunches as we were having a very busy day in office. The girl who took our order around 12pm checked with her colleague that our order of two panini's and a plain chicken salad was not a problem and it would be available for pick up in half an hour. Great, a very simple request one would think, however when we went to collect we were advised we don't do and never have done panini's, we don't do pineapple... No explanation was given as to why they didn't prepare the chicken salad. Suffice to say I had a very hungry and dissatisfied team! Not good NOBEL. A little refresher staff training before the busy Christmas period would be advisable! :)

Try to visit Noble when in Ballymena, as the food is always excellent. The staff are super efficient and are always super friendly.

One of the nicest places to eat out in ballymena all the girls and staff who work here are dedicated to there jobs really friendly and welcoming food is gorgeous aswell definitely worth a visit always packed

Great place to eat any time of the day breakfast or lunch fantastic food good portions quickly cooked. Only downside is that it's cash only. There's an ATM across the street however Card payments should be accepted in this day and age.

Great place to eat. Deceiving from the outside but massive inside. Decor very good. Did not have to wait for a table. Service was very quick. We had 2 small fry’s. Delicious not a pick of grease on the plate. Staff excellent. Have not been to Ballymena very often but would go back to eat here again. Great menu.

The place is ok, not super nice and during weekends is too crowded. The annoying side is... Is cash only, no card?? What the heck? Tax evasion? Not sure I would come back, the No Card thing is bad and they almost charge us more than we consume.

Called in for 2 breakfasts..which were just ok..but ordered tea for 2..one small teapot & 1 teabag between 2..£2.10 each... that's £4.20 for a teabag! A bit steep..not good service either..rushed through, breakfast threw down ..also 85p per breakfast item...talk about ripping people off! when I complained,the girl just laughed at me..just saying.

Didn’t get time even to sit and look at the menu when I was asked if I was ready to order. The food was average at best. When I was putting my fork on the plate a young girl lifted it and THEN asked if was finished. The service was very poor. Won’t be returning.

A good place for a quick bite to eat. Quick and good service, and hearty portions. Would recommend for a catch up with friends and family.

We are regular customers here and never have had any issues. Today the fry was greasy and the bacon was burnt and leathery. When I asked them to take the bacon off the bill the lady in the chefs uniform rolled her eyes and screwed her face up. She just kept saying that we should have returned the bacon. Never apologised. Customer service from waitresses always great, chef could do with some customer service training.

30 to 35 min wait for food as computer broke down could of delt with it a lot better had asked for the coffee they didn't bother just a mess not staff fault altogether......

Seated quickly and order taken and served promptly. However drinks did not arrive so halfway through breakfast I had to find the waitress to request them. Food was nice but portion size was small. 2 pieces of toast as a fry item is 85p but you are actually served one super-small piece of toast cut in half. I realised after leaving that there were items missing from our breakfast although we had been charged for them. Cash only but no signs.

My daughter and I had brunch here, and while the food was good I couldn’t get over the price they charged for a pot of tea for two with one teabag in it costing £4.20.. unbelievable!!!!!

A Nice Cafe with friendly atmosphere. Food is reasonably priced & Good. The only thing I would suggest it that the Menu could be slightly more extensive at there isn't really a lot to choose from. Other than that overall very good. 👍

I’ve visited here a few times recently for both breakfast and lunch. It’s always clean with plenty of seating and good service. Food is always served quickly, is hot and tasty. Perhaps a bit expensive for a cafe and they accept cash only.

Was in here for a fry mid-week 80p per item. In today for the same to find that prices have gone from 80p to £1.10 each! Inflation busting increases!

Excellent table service and a cracking bowl of soup. All the good effort is lost when you go to pay the bill. At that point you are told cash only and to go to Santander across the road to get cash. No signage on entering the premises nor informed at anytime before ordering that it’s cash only. I understand why businesses are going cash only and have no issue with it so long as the customer knows this before purchasing allowing them to make an informed decision wither it convenient for them or not.

Yes this place is busy and you have to queue but that’s because it’s amazing. The staff make this place, they are attentive and really hard working. They are all doing something so the queue and orders fly out. The food itself is great and I like the way they have child sized portions at child prices for the kids. The loaded fries were simply superb. One of the best cafes in NI in my view.

I do enjoy the 5 piece breakfast. Not many places around that do a proper Breakfast anymore. It is a bit of an inconvenience that the restaurant still don't accept card and are cash only however its not a major inconvenience and the price is very fair!

Good food, good swift courteous service, good pricing, excellent black coffee and a clean eatery. What is not to like. Not a Ballymena resident but will return. Just remember cash only but ATM just across the road. Well done 💯🎉

We came here for breakfast on our way to the Giants Causeway. The cafe was busy but the friendly staff were great bustling around making sure everyone was seen to. Our food arrived quickly and was delicious, we made our own breakfasts and the ingredients were high quality. The staff have lovely uniforms and the place itself has been decorated to a high standard. It was very clean and we would highly recommend this cafe.

This is a very busy cafe in the centre of Ballymena. Although there were queues we did not have to wait long and by the time you get seated your food arrives very quickly. The breakfast is very tasty and plenty of it. The staff are quick taking your order and serving you. There is a good choice of food and all is very well cooked.

Absolute melt in mouth food ,fully recommend had the beef and bird , cooked to absolute perfection very seldom is this extremely high quality found in a small Cafe

Stopped in for lunch today and we weren’t disappointed. The food was delicious as always and the servers are always smiling and helpful. A fantastic lunch yet again and we will definitely be back.

Busy in work, run up to grab something other than a sandwich as I was going out after work also so wanted something filling. I had sticky chicken side salad omg it was beautiful, flavour was outstanding, and portion sizes were plentiful, so much so I couldn't finish. Great value for money. Highly recommended

Love here for breakfast on my Saturdays off. The frys are probably the most popular but there are other great options available, the porridge is delish. Expect long queues unless you're early, but it's worth the wait. The lunches and dinners are equally good. I like their toasties with a side of chips. I've also had their chicken, pepper sauce, veg and side which was lovely. The service is very quick and the place is spotlessly clean. Make sure you've cash as cards aren't accepted for payment.

Organised, efficient young staff make this place the best in Ballymena. Queue settle quickly, food served promptly, good portion size, Not greasy. All reasonably priced. What’s not to love.

Better bring cash with you as they refuse card payments which is ridiculous in my opinion. As a business not "forking" out on a card terminal and making their customers leave the restaurant to find an ATM just doesn't make sense. Cash is a dying currency and this place won't please many people by refusing to keep up with the times and accept card payments.

Its always busy here and I have to say the food is always good. Its relatively cheap, and even though there's a queue, you never have to wait that long. The breakfasts are super value, although I normally just opt for the soup. The girls are always friendly and nice and overall its very good.

Excellent food, lovely staff, efficient service, fantastic cleanliness and nice surroundings. Could you ask for more?
