We popped in here whilst touring in the area and were very impressed with the food and service. Hubby had the Chicken Tennessee Burger and I had the Chicken Parmiganio. Both dishes were cooked to perfection and I can honestly say it was the best Chicken Parmiganio I’ve ever had. It does advise that the meals are cooked to order and it could be up to a 30 minute wait but if you want great food it is worth it. The staff were lovely and very attentive. If we are ever back in the area we will definitely be coming back.

Lovely food great atmosphere. There were 5 of us, the food was fab. I had cullen skink, which was so tasty followed by the pork lounge with haggis mash, roast veg and sauce (can't remember what the sauce was. It was delicious so stuffed couldn't manage pudding. Other family members had houlumi fries, the honey chicken, haggis stuffed chicken and burger, all were delicious, good sized portions. Served quickly and lovely n hot. Staff were friendly. Would definitely eat there again.

We popped in for a late lunch during a Sunday trip in the area. Great Vegan menu with a great choice, we all found something we liked. Service was good and the food was excellent and we would certainly come back just to eat here. Portion sizes were good and food was well presented. Lovely to look out at the sand dunes whilst eating your food

Me, my girlfriend and my Dog came here whilst visiting Lossie and to be honest we had a good experience. The staff were friendly and made a fuss of my dog. The food itself was pretty good, Jacket Potato with sweet chilli chicken and I had the Haggis and Cheese panini with fries was very filling and a good size portion. The price was very reasonable especially in a tourist place and yes it is worth considering going

Stayed for work recently. Seems to be a popular choice for people working in the area. My room (room 2) was very comfortable, but had a constant plinking noise from pipes in the wall. It would have been annoying but my earplugs blocked it out, so I slept fine. Food in the restaurant was very nice for dinner, and the breakfast was also excellent. A very loud regular guest slightly tainted the experience, as I unfortunately timed my dinner and breakfast visits to coincide with him.

Service on this evening was very slow, waited 30 minutes to be served had to go and ask to be served, was a couple of tables but nothing for the wait to be that long. Placed order at 5 to 6 after arriving at 17:20, ordered starters and mains. 20 to 7 was still waiting for starters, prawn cocktail and the prawn sizzler that came look warm but after waiting so long and being so hungry it was eat. Eventually got our mains and out the door 2 hours later. Last few times we have went service has been a little on the slow side but have went back but after that evening we won't bother going back as we both left unhappy and ended up being ill after it. Even when playing for order the service was rude from the guy no please or thank you at end.

The Firth Lossiemouth Overall ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Was a regular visitor pre-Covid, however since moving away from Lossiemouth and the regular staff leaving, we had not visited in years. However, last month for old times sake, my wife and I stopped at the The Firth on 2 occasions, the quality of food and service was excellent. Food ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ We both had the chicken, bacon and cheese wrap and the quality was excellent. Good, succulent pieces of chicken breast, thick bacon with a thick BBQ source. This was served on a bed of salad and crisps. The meal was very filling and felt I had got value for money. It’s fair to say that I waited a good while for this meal (20mins) but then again this is not McDonalds and good food does take time. Service ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ No complaints with the overall service, staff were respectful and well turned out. Unlike most restaurants they were not standing around doing nothing. Environment ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Clean, tidy with well spaced-out tables. Clearly the staff have taken pride with their roles and responsibilities. Value for Money ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ £28.50 – very reasonable for now days ⭐️ - 2 Wraps - 2 pints

During a visit to Lossie with friends we walked in to have lunch at the address shown above (5 Clifton Road). The place was called The Firth Hotel (on our receipt). Zoe,, our waitress, showed us a menu that offered two main meals for £20. Chicken Stroganoff and Scampi. Our drinks were served promptly by Zoe. The main dishes arrived soon after and proved to be well presented and very tasty. Everybody in our small group was pleased with the meal and happy that we had discovered The Firth Restaurant. While we ate and enjoyed the view out over the beach and sea two of us reminicised about happy times, many years before, when we had flown out of RAF Lossiemouth. Great to return and enhanced by our good lunch. Total cost £56 with a tip to Zoe that she deserved.

Breakfast was cooked to order each morning was piping hot the best hash browns I have tasted, would stay here again.

We went here for a nice meal out, as the prices were about £15 for a main I expected to get a decent meal out. Really enjoyed the starter of halloumi fries and bruschetta but the main course of maple glazed salmon with mash potato in a leek and prawn sauce was very underwhelming and bland. There was no maple glaze on the salmon, which didn’t have crispy skin. The mashed potatoes were so lumpy and not seasoned. The sauce was also lacking in flavour even with added black pepper from the table. I was disappointed by this as the prices of the main course especially was very high.

Not one to leave a ‘bad’ review but I feel I can’t leave this one! I called on Wednesday to book a table for this evening at 6pm for 13 people, we arrived for 6 and got seated great away - great! After around 20 minutes waiting one of the party had to ask for menus, on getting these we were left around 20 mins before someone came back to take any drinks or starters order (the place was busy so sometimes this does happen)... we ordered our starters and mains and then waited 45 minutes to receive the starters, we had to remind the waitress that we were still missing a few starters! the plates were taken away and we then waited another 40 minutes for our mains to come (well some!), there was a missing kids meal, a missing adults meal, 4 missing chips that come with the meals, a mix up with a meal too. By this point everyone else had finished their meals so I asked to speak to the manager who evidentially had left by this point, the guy I spoke to then asked if we still wanted the missing/mixed up meals? Erm yes?! He then said he would put the missing meals in takeaway boxes as by this point we had already waited about 20 mins for these to come, we ended up paying for what we had and left - still no meals! I am aware that a table of 13 on a Saturday night could be hectic for the kitchen but other people coming in and sitting down after us were getting their meals first (even they were having to wait long periods too!) Don’t accept a booking if you don’t think you can accommodate it!? We have been here for a meal on various occasions before and had no issues but we will not be returning after this carryon! Not even a free round of drinks or anything offered either for the mix up or the waiting time which is shocking for the amount the bill came to!

Had a nice meal, the specials are always good and I’d come back. It’s averagely priced but the service was painfully slow on one occasion. We went there as a few people recommended us to try it and what a disappointment it was. My husbands steak was over cooked my kid both had the kids chicken goujons and the you could have squeezed the grease out of them , I had the macoroni and it was totally disgusting as it had no taste at all as it was just like watt pasta with a bit of cheese on top I left the whole lot as one fork full was enough for me yuk , the family at table next to us said there macoroni was the same but they popped lots of tomato sauce on there’s to give it a bit of taste as the kids where hungry as the waited quite a while for it to come . I said excuse me to the guy that works there 3 times when he passed and he just ignored me as needed a straw for my wee girl . When leaving Both I And the other family complained and the supervisor / manager I think she said she was shocked as she said the macoroni normally is one of there best sellers . She also said she is good at remembering a face so if we come back again she will sort us out with a discount. . Defo won’t be back

Have been to The Firth as now named on numerous occasions with no complaints except for length of time to wait for food and poor toilets. However have recommended to others to go and 3 have, on separate occasions, and would not return. Menu changed, food not available, side orders not delivered - raw onion rings when eventually delivered, long wait between courses, soiled nappy in ladies toilet not removed within 2 hours, flat coke drink etc. Worst of all chips were usually fab but all 3 customers said small, hard, crispy bits were delivered when the staff are normally confident in saying that chipped potatoes are steamed then fried. Have they bitten off more than they can chew with other premises recently purchased or does it depend on chef on day????

Visited here last week with my parents and boyfriend. This was my 3rd time here since August. The food is consistently good. I have had the steak twice and enjoyed it both times. It comes with fried mushrooms and onion, tomato and a generous portion of homecooked chips. Have never been disappointed with the starters. Have tried the haggis mushrooms (specials board) and the cajun chicken strips - Both lovely! I usually enjoy a cocktail at the Clifton - slightly pricey but worth it. They also have a very large selection of drinks at bar (massive gin list with plenty of premium tonics). Service is slightly slow but not a problem as the meal is always good. I would recommend allowing plenty time for your meal, especially if wanting dessert as I think the kitchen closes at 9pm. There is a nice atmosphere at the Clifton and it's definitely a favourite of ours.

Went to the Clifton to have a meal with friends, not the first time we have been there, it's a popular place in Lossiemouth, service is good, prices reasonable , unfortunately they don't have any local craft beers on tap, which is a shame as the brewery is just down the road, they had a Belgian beer!!! The last time we were there I had a burger and vowed never to have another one because it had been cooked so much it was dry and crumbly, I didn't complain because I assumed it was an off moment. However this time my husband ordered the prawn and mushroom in garlic butter on lightly toasted bruschetta...frankly the mushrooms were very black and tough and over cooked and the prawns were so small and over cooked as to suggest that they were immature shrimps. He requested a medium rare burger, I.e. Pink and moist. What he got was exactly what I had had before, an over cooked (not burnt...this was evenly cooked ...too much) and an exceptionally dry burger. He asked for it to be sent back and a medium rare burger brought out to replace this. The waiter returned without a new burger and informed him that the chef had apparently refused to cook the burger any other way than to over cook it , he was not able to accede to the request in any way, it did not matter that the customer had requested a specific type of burger to be cooked , the chef was not having any of it...this was really sad , the Clifton is quite good but this wasn't a very nice bit of customer care , so he ended up having fish and chips, which we had all had, the fish was nice and moist, the chips sadly were pale, anaemia looking and soggy but then all our portions of chips had been like that .

I was taken to the Clifton on a recent trip to East cost of Scotland. I was happy that we were going to eat in a pub/hotel as you can't go wrong with pub grub, especially when you're by the seaside. It was a weekday, so unsurprisingly the restaurant didn't have much of an atmosphere, which was to be expected. I had fish and chips. Although the fish was ok, and the plate was well presented (the chips came in a deep frying basket), it was very disappointing. The chips MAY have been deep fried but they were soft and tasted just like oven chips. The tartar sauce was a bit of a strange colour and overall wasn't very enjoyable. The other people at my table had a range of dishes which all looked average. The choice on the menu was a bit strange as rather than just having traditional choices there were a range of cuisines from fish and chips to thai curry to a "mexican" type pasta dish. I think this restaurant would be better off sticking to pub grub, and if not, charging much less for what is essentially cafe food.

We each had something different and boy was it tasty.... the portions are a great size too. As for the homemade chips..... they must be the best I have ever tasted. In fact we all commented on them. It's a great restaurant to take fussy eaters too.... like my guests...... and they were absolutely delighted and rally happy with our restaurant choice. The restaurant was sooo busy but they still managed to provide a 5 star meal, service with a smile, ..... highly recommended. The manager was extremely polite and helpful and could not do enough for every one. Highly recommended.

We drove into Lossiemouth to look for a venue for lunch after a visit to the Covesea Lighthouse. The menu looked to be okay and there was a window both available, so we entered. The waitress was quite busy, but seemed to attend to all's needs.Good pub food with good beer and the company of my family - a great lunch!

Our visit to the restaurant at The Clifton Hotel was as the result of a happy win in a prize draw with Lifestyle Magazine in Elgin. We might not otherwise have found out what we have been missing for so long! The fact that we did not have to pay for the meal did NOT affect the way the staff attended to us and I can say that there was NOTHING we could fault in either the meal itself or the welcoming and friendly staff. The food was prepared to perfection in terms of quality, quantity and presentation. I am often disappointed by restaurants which provide 'works of art' but are woefully inadequate in quantity, leaving you hungry a short time later! My wife and I were glad we did not have a starter, instead having a main course and a sweet which left us very full!I have no reservations about giving this restaurant full marks for a very lovely and memorable evening meal.

The food in this place is out of this world! Everything is made fresh to order which makes it worth the wait! The staff are so friendly and willing to go out of there way to help you. The cocktails we had were amazing and some of them weren't on the menu they just asked what kind we usually like and made ones up to how we like them which was great! The food is not expensive either with is another bonus! Located right on the sea front which is beautiful! We will definitely be back as regulars from now on

Hotel is in a lovely location and inside looked as though it had recently been done up and was lovely. However the food was disappointing. The flavours were ok but presentation was extremely poor. We had a beef stroganoff and rice which literally looked as though someone had plonked a spoonful iridescent down beside a spoonful of stroganoff - just as you would do at home. The prawn curry was the same but was better on the flavour front. The Clifton chicken, which was chicken stuffed with black pudding sun blushed tomatoes and wrapped in bacon was better liquefied out and sliced nicely to present the different layers but then the veg looked like it was spooned out beside each other. When you are paying for restaurant quality food you definitely expect better. The service was also poor. They didn't remove the cutlery that was not reqiired and we were promised rat the board with specials would be brought round but it never arrived. Also beware of the toilet facilities. I am a size 12 to 14 and had extreme difficulties squeezing int what was the baby changing cuticle. It waylaid definitely be difficult trying to get in with a baby let alone changing it. Definitely won't be going back there

Went for an early supper, and arrived before the masses (they were fully booked later on), ordered drinks and food. Although service was a little slow (I believe the staff were relatively new), the food was fresh and delicious. Portions were a good, generous helping and reasonably priced.

Tried Lossiemouth today for lunch, after trying to eat at the harbour lights which was full, we visited a very quiet Clifton Hotel. Got seated rightaway, ordered a beer and a fresh orange and after looking at a reasonable menu, we decided on a basic beefburger with chips and salad and a chicken breast burger with chips and salad. No problem we thought....HOW WRONG!!! After waiting over 30mins (remembering the place was empty) we got served what can only be described as unedible food. The beef burger was put on an oversizesd bun and was cooked too death, Dry as paper, totally unacceptable and the chicken breast was like plastic, well over cooked. When we complained and said we couldnt even eat the food, we were given a pathetic apology and then charged £5.30 for our drinks!!!! UNBELIEVABLE!!! felt sorry for the table of 4 that just came in as we sent our food back............Left quickly and wont be returning. Pure shambles for an empty restaurant.

Saturday afternoon drinks with friends. Recently refurbished and under new management. The bar was lovely great ambience and service excellent. Good range of beer and dtinks. We had nachos to share as a snack and it was really good. Probably better than nearby 1629 who needs to review offering and service

Was recommended the place to go arrived and we where seated right away. We placed our orders and waited a long time during which time 3 members of staff where trying to see what was on the table a member of staff approached the table but never spoke but returned to other members of staff and then one came over and said starters are on there way and then said sorry (clearly forgotten)main meal then came wrong but this was quickly rectified... food was great but service was not

My first visit to the Clifton since it was a pub. Nice and clean with a decent menu. Had a lovely meal for a respectable price. Cocktails were nice however the long Island iced tea needed to be in a much taller glass, to say it was strong is an understatement. Overall very nice and I will definitely go back.

Food quality has gone down from what it used to be and the Five pound “Luxury chocolate cake” is now the same cheap two pound cake from other takeaways not the great one they used to have what a joke won’t be ordering again
