It was our first time trying The Cliff, we decided as some family are down here with us we’d give it a go. It was fantastic, they service and food was amazing!! The setting and decor is just right and really complimented the great menu. We will be back for sure.

Excellent meals, staff very polite and efficient on a very busy Friday night. Lovely meal for two on Tuesday 5/3/24, very friendly relaxed staff, great food once again.

Lovely decor with good area outside. Service is acceptable but inexperience shows, food is good but overpriced and bar staff need training on which measure to use. I was given a 25ml measure of martini rosso, vermouth in the UK is served as 50ml measure!

Shame you did not prompt fir scores based on price. The fiid and wine were excellent, but I feel conned into paying £7.50 for a pint of Camden Pale ale. If the price was on the menu then I would not have ordered it. PS, they often state that they are in Sandbanks, which is about as true as a Ryanair destination airport being anywhere close to their stated city.

An evening dinner for two. Everything was nice enough - from the staff to the food. The food came out just warm enough and whilst tasty was not anything special. The service was friendly. On balance, it is a bit expensive for what it is. That may differ on a nice day when you can sit outside.

We really enjoyed our lunch at The Cliff. It was for our daughter’s 21st birthday and we also had two babies with us, one with very specific dietary needs. The service was exemplary, meals arrived in good time and all together and people came over to check that we were okay regularly but not annoyingly. We had Deanna serving us. There was a card left for our birthday girl which was a sweet touch and they adapted her dessert to say happy birthday. The icing on the cake for me was when I started walking to the loos with a baby in my arms and one of the staff came over to say they were grabbing the key to the baby change room for me. I didn’t even have to ask. So attentive food was really tasty and well presented. Overall a great experience.

Excellent location and atmosphere.

Came here for my husband's birthday,arrived at table to find a birthday card,which was a lovely touch. Waitress was lovely, always smiling, very knowledgeable about the menu, even offered me an alternative when I wasn't keen on my chosen main meal. All in all a lovely experience.

We went on a Thursday night, so busy but not buzzing. We eat here regularly so food is good but no surprises, service was excellent and Amy helped us with our order.

Another excellent lunch today. Pipping hot, freshly cooked food. Ross our server was excellent. Looking forward to our next visit.

I thought I’d booked at table for Saturday night (didn’t check to see if I got a booking confirmation and it hadn’t gone through). I accept that was my fault. However, we were told we could sit in the bar. There were tables but they hadn’t been cleared so I cleared the glasses off and then asked for a cloth to clean it. The girl behind the bar gave me a tea towel which didn’t work but I found a spray bottle and cloth on a side so used that. It was busy but the table next to us didn’t get cleared while we were there and it was free for over an hour. It was just as you walk in the door so didn’t look good for first impressions. I went to the bar to order as we were told to do that if you sat in the bar-which is fine. I ordered starters and mains, one starter turned up alarmingly fast and the other never showed. We had croquettes and burgers. The food was fine-nothing special and almost just seemed like frozen burgers. Food arrived and we had to ask for cutlery. When I went to ask about the other starter and to see the bill they told me I hadn’t ordered them. (I know I did order them). I’ve worked in hospitality and if a customer said that, I would’ve just made sure I got them sent out to them. Anyway we weren’t charged for them, I thought I might have been but then realised it was £7.60 for a pint of neck oil!! I thought that was crazy, I know neck oil is expensive but £7.60!! I’ve been to the cliff a lot of times and loved it but this experience has put me off. It’s massively overpriced for what it is. I understand that they were busy but the service and the good as poor for the price. I hope this was a one off but expect they are busy enough that they just don’t care at the moment.

Lovely food, lovely staff, lovely vibe. We came for the Valentines 3 Course Menu and the value for money was really good I’d say. Originally we had a lovely attentive member of staff with long blonde hair (I think she was called Jess) and can’t fault her. The only let down was later in the evening, there was another waitress who was loudly telling everyone around us her life story and showing pics on her phone. There were people waiting to order on other tables whilst she was telling long stories and even saying to other tables “hang on whilst I finish my story on this other table”. When our payment was ready to be taken she told my partner to add things up on his phone because she wasn’t sure on the prices on the bill which is fair enough but I felt could’ve been handled better. Soured the experience ever so slightly but good visit overall.

Great food and service as usual. However, I wish they’d pay the same attention to the playlist as they do to the decor. Mixture of high energy, EDM and dance music. Just doesn’t work with the atmosphere.

I was looked after by lauren and she was amazing, very attentive and polite and this made my experience perfect. Food was unreal and the decor is beautiful would highly recommend this pub as a nice meal out.

Very good location. Very nice decor. I was disappointed with the steak pie which had a large pieces of fatty gristle. Told the waitress twice it wasnt good. Expected better. The apple pie was amazing. Service very average.

We went there as this place was recommended to us for good place to watch the football which it wasn’t. Decided to have some drinks and food from their set menu and all was good until we paid £16 for 3 drinks 2 of which small juices. For a person who lives in London that was shocking… Anyway the food was surprisingly good and fresh. All I could say is that place needs better management and cheaper kids juices.

We celebrated my Mums 80th Birthday at the Cliff today, we had a 3pm Sunday Lunch. The food was tasty and plentiful, the service was great and the atmosphere was perfect for our family of 4 generations including a toddler. Would definitely recommend and will certainly return. Thank you for making our celebration a lovely memory.

We live a few miles from this establishment and are always looking for a really good local place to eat frequently. The staff were lovely, friendly and accommodating. The atmosphere was really nice. We had our starters and they were tasty and well presented. We thought we had found our "Food Nirvana" However the main courses arrived and we were left wanting 😩 The filet steak decidedly average. The chips were cold/luke warm. The Macaroni cheese side, dry and tasteless. 😩 I didn't partake in dessert but my wife had the "trio of desserts" They were very nicely presented and very tasty too 😁👍After dinner coffee's were also good. I wouldn't say no to a second visit but I doubt we have found our culinary promised land.

We booked for new year eve, when we arrived there they told us that the table was booked for a different time. They left us without dinner with 3 small children for the New year eve. The manager was unprofessional and rude. From the outside we noticed that couples of people had 2 tables together with one half empty.

Myself and my partner went for food on NYE… we called up prior to ask if we could still order of the normal menu and they said yes (as we were booked before 7) on arrival we was giving the NYE menu so asked if we could have the other one and the waitress brought over the “festive menu” which was a set menu (so already not that happy as we called to check and then was told something different at the table) I had to the mushroom starter which came with one small peice of bread. The mushroom is sauce was completely flavourless. The sea bass for main was in a yellow sauce which tasted almost off and sharp. For dessert we had poached pear which was stone cold and bruised on all sides. The young boy who delivered our food was the highlight of the evening (very charming and kind young man) Overall we felt that the food was rushed and for those prices we expected better.

A very posh place! Such a difference to when I used to visit the Nightjar as a teenager in the 80’s. The cliff provides elegant decor, and delicious food. We were a party of seven and our server Amy was really on the ball. She was attentive, joyful, and “Amy-able”. She knew the menu well and therefore was able to provide great suggestions. A lovely experience reconnecting with old friends and reminiscing.
