The Churchill Bar & Terrace in City of London, Westminster

Noelia was our server and she was incredible, so was our service and experience. Highly recommended. I will be returning.

One of my favourite bars in London!

Stayed at this hotel five times when visiting London. It’s the clear choice if you’re a cigar lover visiting London. Always a respectful and professional level of service here. Some reviews which noted perhaps a less than favorable experience were definitely not hotel guests. Some rules may be enforced which don’t apply to a hotel guests. The food is good, hence the four stars, but it’s obviously not the same as sit down at a fine dining restaurant, because it’s a cigar patio. Over the years I’ve met some interesting people on this patio, as London always brings out. During prime hours, I would suggest a reservation. Later at night it never seemed necessary.

Además, si visitas Churchill War Rooms y quieres tener un lado más personal de la historia, este lugar es una necesidad.

Great cigar bar near the Mayfair area. The small bites are also quite tasty.

Stumbled upon here almost by accident for one drink and ended up staying for 4 - if that's not the sign of a good night then I don't know what is. Cocktails are really well made, snacks delicious and staff lovely. I sometimes find the music in old-school bars is a bit drab, but the playlist here was vibey and probably contributed to the fact we stayed for so long. Will defo be back when we're next in the area after work.

Noeleia is a kind and attentive person who engaged with us throughout our time at the Churchill Bar. She is beautiful inside and out. You will know who when you meet her. Drinks were amazing and service was impeccable.

Great and kind service and high quality cigars !

We came for a few drinks on a Saturday night and they were simply exceptional. The espresso martini was without doubt the best I’ve ever had in my life (seriously). The service was sublime; our waiter Andrii was excellent and really made sure we head a great experience - we wouldn’t have stuck around if he hadn’t been there. We’ll definitely be back! Highly recommended

Nos sentamos dentro del bar que tiene un ambiente acogedor y disfrutamos de un poco de champán y cócteles, luego café. Los cócteles de la casa eran inusuales e interesantes y sabían delicioso. For us The Churchill Bar & Terrace is always a must stop when we’re in the area. In this instance, Riccardo was our waiter and did an incredible job! The atmosphere is always so good, welcoming and cosy.

We had a small gathering at the Bar. Vitor headed the event magnificently and Alex was our exclusively dedicated server. It was great how both of them made us feel very comfortable. Alex being there constantly whenever I looked for service was amazing. Vitor desire to please as well was great. The whole team made it amazing and all the guests enjoyed the evening.

Fantastic evening at the Churchill bar. Wonderful cocktails, excellent service in general, and specifically from Noelia who is a delight. Will definitely be heading back to try a few more cocktails.

Had cocktails early evening and then later at night. Great service. Nice environment. Only gripe is that the cocktail quality is not up to the prices being charged.

Very enjoyable bar in London. Prices are expensive, but that is to be expected in London. The beer and espresso martini were especially good.

Came here with a group of friends and really enjoyed ourselves. The venue is beautiful and the atmosphere was great. It's a little bit on the pricey side but the service was amazing. Our waitress Noelia was extremely attentive and always had a smile on her face despite it being a busy night. She was knowledgeable and helped us navigate through the menu giving us great recommendations. It's been a great experience overall but the service really did make all the difference. Loved this bar at our hotel, the Hyatt Regency. The Churchill!! Bartenders paschal is, Andri, and Alex the hostess were great. Drinks and atmosphere were awesome!! Came here for 3 nights…what a fun time!!

I have been here for cigars, drinks and food multiple times. Each and every time the atmosphere has been amazing. I usually sit outside as I like to smoke cigars. Their menu boasts a very good selection of cigars. The menu is informative and the food selection is great. Halal options and vegetarian options are available upon request. The service here is very good and attentive. With staff going the extra mile to make sure your stay with them is comfortable. The outdoor area also has overhead heaters and blankets for those chilli days. Parking is available around surrounding roads (paybyphone) app. I Will return again. Thankyou

This venue is a must visit for an cigar loving traveller or London local for that matter. Their humidor has a good selection of sticks, and their bar makes some great bespoke cocktails like the Churchill Negroni. On the night I visited, the service was exceptional, especially from Alexa & Roberto. I will definitely come back on my next visit to London.

From the moment I arrived, service was impeccable. Staff were as inviting as the ambience. Roberto especially made sure to tend to our every need, he made sure it was a birthday I’d never forget and I will definitely be returning soon. Thank you!

I didn't like the cocktails, the snacks too, even the olives were very cheap and not tasty. A place for tourists, expensive and not tasty.

5 of us really enjoyed our time here. The drinks are amazing and the food is good. 4 of us had cigars from the humidor and had the cigar service which was great. We had to put a £68.50 down payment down each to ensure the table was held in advance. Service was generally decent but when it came to asking for the bill, we had to ask 3 different people for it actually to be bought to us so we could pay. This was a little disappointing for such an upper class venue. However, I would still go again.

Excellent Staff always makes you feel home and comfortable .. in a friendly and professional way at the same time .. we enjoy Food/ Drinks/ Cigars at the terrance in lovely nights with our friends .. Victoria, Melissa, Roberto always makes our experiences enjoyable and to the next level with a smile on thier faces.

It was good but not amazing. Cocktails ok, service ok and nice terrace but a bit small.

Terrible overpriced for what they provide. A cigar I regularly purchase for $12US was $65 pounds. All alcohol was also terribly overpriced. Just go to a neighborhood pub instead.

The food was really bad. I found a rat in the place and the way they were treated was really bad. If you support any political activity other than theirs, they will throw you out without respecting freedom of expression, which is us, so that we are treated like this.

Our experience was fantastic! The cocktails were uniquely delicious, and the food was very nice too! The atmosphere in the whole bar was cosy but classy and certainly entertaining. Alberto was brilliant, super friendly and very, very attentive, just like Andrii and the rest of the team. I would certainly recommend this place to anyone either visiting London or just looking for a more elegant night.

The bar area is so nice, best bartenders ever

We booked for Father’s Day Sunday lunch and had the most wonderful time. The food was very good and most importantly the service was amazing. They had got a table ready with a highchair and children’s activity for my son which I was very grateful for. They were very considerate about the level of music as my son was sleeping as well. I must say I will definitely return. We had a thoroughly enjoyable experience, live music on a Sunday as well during Sunday lunch

The Churchill was recommended by The Cumberland Hotel as a place my husband could smoke a cigar. It was a Saturday night but the Churchill staff found us a comfortable spot outside where we spent a few hours having some beers and simple snacks. A lovely place to relax and unwind after a day of sightseeing. Our server Roberto saw to our every need and we had a nice conversation about Italy. Will definitely return if we are in the area.

The staff at The Churchill Bar & Terrace are top-notch. There is also a cigar lounge in this bar located outside the bar. During this windy and cold weather, they turned on the heater and provided blankets. You can have your own cigar or just buy quality cigars from their collection.

Went for cocktails. Ultra chic bar, lovely and original cocktails. Friendly service and attentive service. Were able to book a table same day just for drinks, the bar itself is very beautiful. They brought nuts and chilli crackers and replenished them regularly. Nice small cloth napkins and attention to details in the drinks. It was just a pleasure to hang out in here and even the bar menu looked good. Will return!

We weren't there long enough (hence my 3 stars) as they were about to take last orders, so only had a drink each (whisky). But the atmosphere seemed really cool.

A really lovely experience all round - the signature cocktail menu is fantastic, with some really unusual flavours and experiences. Everything is beautifully presented and high quality, for both food and drink. The fried halloumi was delicious without being too heavy or salty and the nibbles are all lovely. The staff are very accommodating and attentive. They offered to help advise on drinks and were able to offer alternatives when people's choices were unavailable. There is a seating area outside that is also heated and with blankets etc. so there's a good atmosphere inside or outside.

I’ve come to celebrate my father’s 65th and had fantastic customer service from Roberto, a very professional, polite & insightful gentlemen. Showed my father the correct way to cut a cigar would highly recommend to anyone.

Called here after a big win at an awards ceremony. Was treated to an outside table, great service. Big cigars and even a high 5 from the staff on our win. Will definitely be back.

Haven’t been here for few years, though I used to visit very frequently sometimes twice a day as I did all my London Recruitment’s here. Noticed the new decorations, though glad that the name and the style are kept. Came for a cigar in the terrace, followed by dinner at the bar. Terrace is pleasant and service is polite if a bit stiff. Their collection of cigars is quite limited though. Food at the bar is also limited, I had a trio of mini hamburgers (GBP 22) which was pretty good and paired with fried sweet potatoes was sufficient for dinner. Only 2 beers available! In a bar in central London? MMMhhh Food selection is more complete at the restaurant of the hotel.

Service and atmosphere were superb. I did not try the food menu so I cannot rate it. Cigars were excellent. Hidden gem, would visit again.

The drinks are spectacular but watching Marco mix them was like watching a potion master brew a magic elixir. Worth a trip here just for that.

Drinks mediocre and nothing we haven't experienced before. We would have tried something else as we don't like to dismiss somewhere on our first choice of drinks but the service was appalling so we were out of there after our first cocktails. Bartender was dismissive and too busy trying to chat up the single girl sitting at the bar next to us rather than explain the drinks to us. First he asked my friend for our order while I'd actually left the bar for a minute. When she said she'd wait till I got back, she felt like he replied in a patronising manner (she's the most easy-going person I know so this was very unusual). Then I had a cocktail which had a pipette of Ancho Reyes attached to it. It was supposed to be 'injected' into the cocktail by the customer but the bartender just put the drink in front of me and walked off without explaining it. Had to call him over to explain it. Guess he hadn't liked me asking about the first glass he'd used, which cracked when he poured the drink. I enquired where it had cracked after seeing him empty the drink back into the shaker to repour into a new glass. Reasonable question, if you ask me. My friend and I go to a lot of high-end cocktail bars and were seriously peeved to be treated so shabbily. We usually have nothing but praise for our bartenders and love a good convo with them about the drinks but this place is now off the map as far as we're concerned.

Ask for roberto for cigar advice, he happily toured us through the humidor. Also, surprisingly good coffee!

Champaigne 40% ????!!! Arrived to The Churchill bar and were shown to our reserved table. The bar has nice vibe, very clean and lovely decor. It was not busy that evening. I has not heard of the BILLECART-SALMON BRUT RÉSERVE Champagne, So I enquired with our waitress as to how many alcoholic percentage this particular Champagne was. Knowing that it must be either 12% or 12.5%. She went along to find out, returning with an answer: Its 40% alcohol! I looked at her with utter bewilderment, saying it cannot be, as champagne is around the 12%. So, she went to bring the bottle. When she returned, she said, you are right, its 12%. I said thank you we shall take it. Another waiter came opened the bottle and poured it for us. Sadly, he did not return to replenish our glasses and I ended up having to serve us. Just after I'd topped us up the original waitress came back. She then proceeded to top our glasses to the brim going between each glass and holding the bottle up to the light to see if she'd managed to empty it, which she eventually did. We were quite surprised by this behaviour. It then took a painful 20 minutes of trying to attract someone's attention to ask for the bill. Despite this being a small venue none of the (around 8) staff members were reading the room in order to service the guests. Disappointingly we shall not return.

Myself and a few friends decided to visit this bar. We visited another upscale bar at Nobu Hotel and then decided to visit The Churchill Bar & Terrace. There were seven us of in total consisting of mostly black women. We attempted to open the door into the bar. However, the entrance was locked. A waitress opened the door for us. Victor, one of the servers at the bar told us that he could not seat us as there were too many of us. I noted that there were a few available tables and seats dotted around the venue. However, he insisted that he could not seat us. I suggested that we sat by the bar as there were a few empty seats by the bar. I even saw about 2 people already seated there. Victor stated that they do not allow standing by the bar. We asked for other bar recommendations. He suggested we visit the Hard Rock Cafe or a local pub. We then asked if he could recommend upscale bars in the area. He suggested travelling to Soho. We left and walked for a bit before the group split up - some decided to go home, while three of us said we would return to The Churchill as it's a smaller group now. Do note that some of my friends believed that the experience was a racist encounter. However, I disagreed and said that it was because we were a large group. Hence why I decided to return to the bar. When we returned, I noticed a black man seated by the steps with a waiter. I couldn't tell if he was drunk. The waiter said that they were not longer serving alcohol. We said that was fine. When Victor opened the door, he popped his head out and was essentially blocking the entrance. He then stated that the bar closes in 30 minutes so they were not taking anymore orders. We stated that we just wanted a drink but he insisted that the bar was closed. We then said that's fine as we just wanted to sit down until it closed. Victor refused us entry and said that he would not let us sit in the premises. After a back and forth discussion, he then suggested that we sit in the hotel reception area but that he would not allow us into the bar. I only saw white people in the bar. My friend then pointed to Victor and stated that people were ordering at the bar. He still refused us entry. We then decided to complain at the hotel. We spoke to Tomas, the night duty manager and complained about our experience. He took my details and gave me his business card and said that he would call me the following day to address my complaints. I did state that I would wait to hear from him before leaving my review. However, the experience was so horrendous that I could not hold off submitting my review. I am going to look into this matter as this behaviour is unacceptable. I can't believe that we're still being discriminated against because of the colour of our skin.
