A usual visitor to this pub always having food which is usually superb Not on this occasion. The chicken satay was sent out with out peanut sauce. Was also as dry as the Sahara desert. Sent back only to receive another portion which was just as dry as the last. No refund or alternative offered. Main was good though Service was also unusually un-attentive with only 2 members of staff out front. Not the greatest of experience this time. Unfortunately won’t be going back which is a shame as I normally visit at least once every month.

Have eaten here a few times in recent months and the food is always consistently superb and at a reasonable price. More recently, we used the small function room for a wedding party and I cannot praise the staff enough for making it a fabulous occasion. The food was excellent and well presented, and the waiting staff were very friendly and attentive, nothing was too much trouble for them, even though they had been working a very long shift. Well done all of you, we really appreciate all your efforts and will be back soon!

The best Thai food, Love, Love, Love it! The food is always great, nicely presented, so full of flavour and so freshly cooked. Our favourites are the Squid (the dipping sauce is amazing and batter so light)Tempura prawns, duck rolls, chicken satay, mains - great choice too many good ones to list. Menu is varied so something for everyone. All the staff are super friendly, polite and nothing is to much trouble. The restaurant is nicely decorated, it has a lovely bar area either side of the open fire place. It also has a large garden with mature planting some heaters and lots of little areas to sit in. Good choice of beers, wine and of course chilled Prosecco served in a very generous glass ! It is extremely popular and the Manager is also very accommodating and friendly. There is a room at the back with stone walls and great if you want a private party.

I love verything about The Churchill. Moved into Long Crendon last October so only recently a 'local' but the staff in the pub treat us we have been pals for years. The food is always amazing, with a great drink selection. They have a side bar area where they often have Live Sport and are always very welcoming if you want to request a game to watch. I spend my weeks counting down the days until I am back here. A great place!

We arrived about 1.50pm not sure whether we would be able to get any food. But we were greated by friendly staff and assured that, yes, they were still serving food and, yes, they were dog friendly in the bar area. There was a lovely selection of food to choose from, both English and Thai. We both opted for Thai. Well done to the chef; it was delicious.

Firstly the staff are absolutely amazing , on arrival my partner and I were seated (did not book) , this is exactly how a restaurant/pub should be, it’s the little things like asking straight away if you want a bottle of water free and cold. The lovely waitress recommended our dishes she was brilliant in choice as we are new to the area. Both my partner and me highly recommend this little treasure trove. Once again the staff were so very cool and the manager has got this place so right.

As we walked in we were hit by a wall of sound as the football was blaring on the TV with only the bar staff watching It was so loud we couldn’t talk sensibly in the restaurant , then there was a layer of loud music being played as well.. Then.. The food arrived, it was simply disgusting, I don’t know if it was because we were eating early that they reheated food from lunchtime. It was greasy and wholly unappetising It was unfortunate to the extreme as earlier reviews had raved about it I think it needs to decide wether it’s a sports bar or Thai restaurant, a currently they’re failing magnificently at both..

The pub is an absolute credit to the village. You go out to eat - yes for the food but equally the experience. Getting staff that are attentive yet grounded is a challenge. The owners should be proud of the hub they have fostered which allows customers of all age to come in and feel welcome. The food is fab, fresh and excellent quality. The staff are equally an asset.

We supported The Churchill Arms during the most recent lockdown by occasionally ordering a take-away meal, but the bar is now open for drinks outside in the garden and the covered courtyard. In the interim they have invested in some new benches, and very nice they are ! Meals can now be ordered to eat outside. It's good to be able to go back their for a drink.

When ordering, it took a little longer than we expected to get through on the phone but when we did they were helpful and let us know the time to collect. It was obviously busy as when we arrived at the time requested by them, it was an extra 30mins wait!! We did get a free bottle of wine and prawn crackers as an apology, but it was very late and we felt that they should have let us know about the delay as we would have gone elsewhere! However, the food was incredibly tasty and warm (not hot) but unfortunately the sauces were left out of our order. We understand the current situation means services are going to be different and a little slower, but how long can we use COVID as an excuse for these sorts of things?Overall lovely food but just a very long wait! It was just nice to be able to return to a pub on a Saturday afternoon after lockdown. Upon entering the Churchill Arms, the girl behind the bar put on her face mask and then served us, after which Mrs FB2000 and I went out to the garden and found a table. I didn’t notice anything particularly different outside, which was already well distanced anyway. Since the reopening the pub recommends making a reservation as space is limited, but at the time we called in only about half of the outside tables were taken, and only a couple of the ones inside, and we were informed that reservations are needed to ensure a table after 5pm. However, we were were welcome to stay as long as we wantedWe went back to the bar to get a second drink although shortly after the barman was wondering around taking orders and doing a table service, and had the machine to take card payments. We look forward to going back soon !

We turned up for latish lunch last Friday, and thought we would pop into the Churchill Arms for a drink and a spot of lunch. We ordered the ‘Thai board and a dish of spring rolls.’ Our drinks were fine but perhaps a tad expensive for a village pub, but I must say the food which was served to us was very expensive, and poor value. The Thai board which is served for a minimum number of two is priced at £17.00 but NO WAY is this a good choice if you are expecting a reasonable amount of food for that amount paid. Perhaps we made a bad choice, but the portion was in my view very small for the price paid. Even more disappointing was the reaction from the staff which was just a shrug of the shoulder when I made my feelings known. I had also paid up front so there was a reluctance to address my concerns or offer any redress. So be warned if you pay for your food in advance. The food was presented nicely and it WAS tasty, but not worth the money. Other diners also commented to us that it did not seem good value.

Finally went for dinner last night, as we have been intending to go since the crew from the Rising Sun in Thame took over earlier this year, and we were not disappointed. There’s a great variety of menu choices in general, sharing starters (boards) are especially worthy of note. We chose the meat board to share and it was delicious. Main courses didn’t disappoint either; we chose Chicken Panang and a “from the wok” dish, Fat Buddha Gra Pow with tiger prawns. Wok fried plain noodles and coconut rice were our side dishes.Food was fragrant and full of flavour, beautifully presented on modern earthen ware crockery. Service was good, though could be improved at the end of the meal when you’re looking for the bill.. A small dessert menu would also be welcome as this was really the only thing missing. We will be back!

We think The Churchill Arms is a hidden gem and worth a serious detour. The Fat Buddha restaurant (part of the pub) served my family the best Thai food we've had outside of Thailand, and we managed to try ten of the dishes between us. We also enjoyed the real ale and great customer service. The park at the rear enabled our children to run around, swing and play football while most of our party enjoyed a long afternoon in the relaxing pub beer garden. The folks in Thame and surrounds will be spoilt when they open their takeway menu.. An absolute rockstar of a pub!

This is a typical looking village pub form the outside and the inside doesn't disappoint,. a proper bar, seating with tables, Sky sports in the background and a beautiful garden with nooks and crannies both open and under cover. To top it all bar staff who care about people rather than working to strict rules and regulations so prevalent in chain pubs.So that is the really good news...but then.... step inside the restaurant at the side and you enter a world of exquisite Thai cuisine created by Thai people with fresh ingredients, none of your frozen stuff for sure!!If you don't fancy sitting in the restaurant, order a take away and enjoy your meal in your own home.A really great pub

From start to finish the experience was wonderful. It's an intimate venue which seems to fill most nights due to the all round quality. They also accept taste card too which makes the value even more worth while.

Every so often it's nice to have a change to the traditional Sunday lunch. Having been to the Churchill Arms once before, I chose this as the venue because of the Thai food. The service was as ever very prompt & courteous, and everyone agreed that the 3 courses that we all ate was of the highest standard, absolutely delicious !!I would not hesitate to recommend having a Thai meal at the Churchill Arms.

We went for Sunday lunch in April. You could have the Tai menu or Sunday lunch. I had the roast beef. Presentation was superb. The produce vegetables and meat good quality. The beef was well cooked and soft. Had sticky toffee pudding and custard for pudding. Excellent. Nice atmosphere warm and friendly with good service. Drink, main course, dessert and coffee came to £20 good value. Would go again.

I have eaten here many times, lunchtime and evening, and it is always very good. Always freshly prepared with fresh ingredients matched with excellent service. My most recent visit was a business lunch for 2. We had the £10 two course meal and sat in the restaurant. We both had chicken satay with delicious peanut sauce to start (I ordered more sauce - no charge) and then sweet and sour pork, my associate had Pad Thai noodles, which were fantastic according to him and made me wish I had ordered them! Great service from Tutu and a great setting for our meeting. Plan to be back soon.

We visited last night for the first time, it having been recommended by several friends - we weren't disappointed. It's a quirkily decorated place, that manages to successfully combine cosy pub with a restaurant area that's smart enough for a good evening out. Some pub/Thai combos are neither one thing or the other. We hadn't booked but were warmly welcomed. The menu offered a good variety & the dishes we chose were absolutely delicious: tasting freshly cooked, and well presented. We're just annoyed that it took us so long to give it a try! Will definitely visit again & would happily take business guests there too.

We ate here using our tastecard which meant the food was really good value. We loved the surroundings/decor. The food was pretty good given what it cost, but it didn't blow us away.

First visit, first impression: nice little pub tucked away in a side road. Good food, friendly staff. Interiors are lovely and service is of high standard. The food and drinks menu is varied. Grudges: no children's menu, expensive and portion sizes are a bit small. But overall, well worth a visit. We will be visiting again.

We were a group of 6 of which 1 was a vegetarian. The overall choices available were good for everyone. They prepared a mixed vegetarian starter platter which was enjoyed by both the carnivores and the vegetarian! We regularly visit the Rising Sun in Thame and as a vegetarian I found the vegetarian Pad Thai here to be much lighter and more enjoyable. Everyone agreed their choice of meal was perfect (particularly the seafood choices). The only comment I would make is that as it was Dec.19th and we were there for our Christmas gathering - there wasn't a cracker or hint of Christmas to be found which was a little disappointing - the food however could not be faulted.

On holiday near Thame we wanted a Thai takeaway meal and found the Churchill Arms. It was by far the best Thai meal we have ever had. The value for money was really good, with portions large, while the quality of the food was also excellent. There is also an English style pub on the same premises, where you can enjoy a drink while waiting for the food.

Since we moved in the area, we have been there a few times, all of them very good! Consistently high quality, freshly prepared food, very good service too. Some of our not-so local friends like it as well and they keep coming back for more!

This Thai Restaurant/local pub is tucked away in a side street off the main road through Long Crendon, parking was available in the street close by. We went with some friends on the spur of the moment. Good atmosphere in the pub side, comfy sofas etc, popular with the locals. The restaurant was quite charming, the décor was an eclectic mix of Thai and old English but it worked. Amazing food. I ordered the pad Thai chicken noodles - they were the best I've had and kept warm. The portions were good. Others had the green Thai curry and the Red Thai curry and everyone was happy with their choice. Service was efficient and attentive. Great value for money. Will definitely be going back.

I love this restaurant. Fantastic service and always find the food beautiful. Its my favourite Thai restaurant in the Buckinghamshire area. Although I like to try new things, the Penang chicken is one of the best I've had and mimics the real thing in south east Asia.
