The Chinese Tea Company in Kensington and Chelsea

I randomly found this tea shop. Lady who served customers been very polite, professional and helpful. Price are adequate to product and I definitely will come back.

An excellent and traditional tea shop. The owner spends time with her customers, providing sit down tastings to compare the teas and talk about their history, origin, profiles, etc. Tea selection is smaller than in some places - this is a passionate owner passing along the best, not an industrialised chain - but the quality is very good and the experience superlative.

The Chinese Tea Ceremony was my Xmas pressie from a dearest friend. We enjoyed the most wonderful two hours this Friday morning. Juyan took us on a journey that included not only the tea hills of China but also back in time where we learnt about fresh white tea and the techniques of turning these simple C. cinensis leaves into the amazing tastes and aromas of green and ever darker teas. This was not just about tea but the culture and heritage of village life in China. Amazing knowledge and a friendliness anyone would have to appreciate. Cannot wait to come back and learn more, to immerse ourselves, tea leaf like, in this wonderfully warm experience. Eugene

I highly highly recommend booking a Chinese Tea tasting if you would like to learn more about tea. It’s not just a tasting, the Chinese Tea company takes customers through the types of tea, the cultural aspects, how to make tea and the benefits. It was a lovely experience and very informative. It is a great way to spend a couple of hours in portobello market leaning something new.

We booked a tea tasting experience through Truly Experiences and had a really interesting and enjoyable time. The owner prepared 4 different teas for us over a 2 hour period. This included Oolong, Silver Needle and a Puer tea. She talked us through the whole process as well as explaining the history and background of tea growing in China. Our only small complaint was that we spent the whole time sitting on some rather narrow benches which became more and more uncoomfortable.
